Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura open the show. Jesse is wearing a striped referee shirt.
McMahon, “Welcome to ‘Superstars’! Jesse Ventura is getting ready for SummerSlam, he’s already wearing his referee’s shirt!”
Ventura, “McMahon, you are going to see the best refereeing in the history of wrestling! I’m going to control the match, and let the best man win!”
McMahon, “Let’s hope you call in down the middle!”
Ventura, “You can count on that!”
McMahon, “We are going to talk about SummerSlam, and we have a very special ‘Snake Pit’, Jake Roberts’ special guest will be...Hulk Hogan!”
Ventura, “This might be the ‘Chumpster’s’ last Snake Pit!”
McMahon, “Let’s go to the ring!”
Match #1
Billy Jack Haynes vs. Barry Horowitz
Horowitz goes right at Haynes. Barry mat wrestles, and looks very good. Haynes uses his strength to take over. He locks on the full Nelson, and Horowitz submits.

Match #2
Lanny Poffo vs. The Red Demon
The athletic Poffo meets the masked man. The Demon is very aggressive. He punches and kicks way. Lanny is in some trouble. He mounts a comeback, and he takes to the air. Lanny uses a standing moonsault for the win.

Lord Alfred Hayes is seated at the SummerSlam control center.
Hayes, “In one week’s time, the WWF will be at Madison Square Garden for SummerSlam. The show is sold out, but you can contact your local Pay per View provider for information about ordering the event. Here is what you will see.
Don Muraco meets Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts
Billy Jack Haynes meets Dino Bravo
The Rockers take on the Orient Express
Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake meets “Outlaw” Ron Bass
The Rougeau Brothers meet Strike Force
‘The All American’ Ron Simmons makes his WWF debut
‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude challenges the Intercontinental Champion the Ultimate Warrior
The WWF Tag Team Champions, the Von Erich Brothers, defend the titles against the Japanese Champions, Jumbo Tsuruta and Yoshiaki Yatsu
The WWF Championship will be up for grabs as Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage defends against ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper
And in the match everyone is waiting for, Hulk Hogan puts his career on the line S he enters the steel cage to meet Andre the Giant. Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura will be the special guest referee. Will he favor the Giant, will he call it fairly? Let’s hear from Ted DiBiase, and Andre the Giant.”
We see Ted DiBiase, Virgil, and Andre the Giant in an interview area.
DiBiase, “Let’s get right to the point! I should be in the WWF Title match at SummerSlam. Tunney, you crooked politician, you took my shot, and gave it to Piper! You think you beat me, but only for now! I’ll get my shot, I’ll regain the title, and then I’ll boot you out of the President’s office! Now, about the cage match, everybody thinks Jesse Ventura is going to favor the ‘Million Dollar Giant’, he doesn’t have to! Tell them Giant!”
Andre, “Hogan, I’m tired of you! I made you a superstar, but you turned your back on me. You think I need Jesse’s help, you’re wrong. I’ll end your career at SummerSlam!”
We go back to Lord Alfred Hayes.
Hayes, “Andre is ready, is Hogan? We will find out later today!”
Match #3
Non-Title Match
The Von Erich Brothers (WWF Tag Team Champions) vs. Mario Mancini and Joe Mirto
The Champions have a tough challenge coming up. Kevin opens with Mirto. Kevin is very aggressive, and Mirto is in retreat. Kevin goes for the iron claw, but Mirto gets to the ropes. Mancini tags in, and tries his hand. He fares no better. Kerry enters and goes on the attack. He uses the tornado punch to end things.
Winners-The Von Erich Brothers
Match #4
King Kong Bundy w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. Jose Luis Rivera
The massive Bundy has been running through the competition since returning to the WWF. He goes right after Rivera. Bundy pounds away and Rivera is in real trouble. Bundy whips Rivera into the corner. He hits the Atlantic City avalanche, and demands the five count.
Winner-King Kong Bundy
We see the “Snake Pit” set.
Jake Roberts walks out.
Roberts, “Welcome to the ‘Snake Pit’. SummerSlam is approaching. You’re going to see me take care of Muraco, but that’s not what we are here to talk about. We know there is going to be a big cage match, Hulk Hogan puts his career on the line against Andre the Giant. Jesse Ventura is the referee. Can Hogan get a fair deal, I doubt it. Let’s not speculate, let’s bring out Hulk Hogan!”
Hogan walks out and the crowd goes crazy.
Roberts, “Hulk, my man, let’s right to it. I think the odds are stacked against you, I pcan’t see you winning.”
Hogan, “Let me tell you something Jake Roberts, Hulk Hogan has never backed down from a fight! Hulk Hogan has never let anyone intimidate him! I don’t care if Jesse Ventura is the referee! I don’t care if he favors that stinky old giant! I don’t care if the Multi-million Dollar Man sticks his big nose into things! I’ve got the Hulkamanics behind me, and the training, the prayers, and the vitamins! Andre, DiBiase, Ventura, what cha’ gonna’ do when Hulkamania comes running after you?!”
Hogan rips off his shirt.
Roberts, “Well Hogan, you seem ready, but I think you have an uphill,climb.”
Match #5
Non-Title Match
The Ultimate Warrior (Intercontinental Champion) vs. Jerry Allen
Plays and the Intercontinental Champion hits the ring.he attacks Allen. The Warrior is a house afire. The muscular Allen tries to mount a comeback, but he can’t. Warrior wins with a slam, and a splash.
Winner-The Ultimate Warrior
Match #6
Don Muraco w/Mr. Fuji vs. Hillbilly Jim
Muraco will meet Jake Roberts at SummerSlam. He can’t overlook the big Hillbilly. Jim starts fast. He is very aggressive, and the “Magnificent One” is in trouble. Jim goes for a bear hug, but Muraco uses a thumb to the eye to escape. Now Muraco has the edge. He takes the fight to Jim. The big Hillbilly is game, but Muraco is too much. Don uses the Hawai’ian hammer for the win.
Winner-Don Muraco
Vince McMahon, and Jesse Ventura close the show.
McMahon, “The wrestling world is heading to Madison Square Garden. Jesse, in a week’s time, we will know if Hulk Hogan is still in wrestling.”
Ventura, “You know, McMahon, I’m a nice guy. When Hogan loses, I’ll use my pull in Hollywood to get Hogan a part as an extra on my next movie. I’m just that kind of a guy.”
McMahon, “You just call it down the middle!”
Ventura, “Trust me!”
McMahon, “That’s what worries me!”
