Intro Video:
(We cut to the studios of Channel 5 in Memphis, TN as Dave Brown and the returning Lance Russell are standing by.)
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to another edition of PPW Memphis Wrestling, with Dave taking a moment to say how glad he is to have Lance back in town. Lance and Dave reminisce for a few moments, before they are interrupted by Jamie Dundee. Brown mentions to Russell that it’s become an unfortunate trend for Jamie Dundee to interrupt the show over the last few weeks.
Jamie Dundee snidely tells Dave Brown that nobody cares about the return ol’ “banana nose” Lance Russell. The big news, according to Jamie, is that he is going to have his very first match on TV today in order to show The Fantastics that he’s already tougher than they are. Jamie also says he’ll make good on his promise to bring back The King right here on Memphis Wrestling today. This comes as a surprise to Lance Russell, but Dundee assures Lance, Dave and other doubters that they’ll have egg on their faces by the end of this show!
Match #1: Jimmy Golden and Bull Pain (w/ Jamie Dundee) vs. Jerry Allen and Lou Winston
Jamie Dundee sits in with Lance Russell and Dave Brown on play-by-play and continuously runs down the Dirty White Boy, boasting that Bull Pain stole his woman Lady Mystic. In the ring, Golden and Bull Pain use quick tags to keep Lou Winston isolated for much of the match. Bull Pain eventually pins Winston with the spinning neck-breaker.
WINNERS: Jimmy Golden and Bull Pain
Sir Oliver Humperdink arrives at ringside with a trio he calls the Triangle of Terror: Jeff Gaylord, Jos LeDuc and the Ugandan giant Kamala. Humperdink tells Lance Russell that his stated goal has been to take the Southern Heavyweight Championship, and his men will make good on that promise. In fact, Sir Oliver teases that he might make his first move sooner than we all expected.

Lance Russell and Dave Brown announce to fans that they have a very special Personality Profile segment with Gordon Solie coming up after the Southeastern Heavyweight Title match with some big news about the PPW Heavyweight Championship. Joining them at this point is a fiery Dirty White Boy, who admits that he let Jamie Dundee and the rat Bull Pain get the best of him last week but getting even is the best revenge. Eddie Marlin has granted the White Boy a tag team match against the Stud Stable’s Bull Pain and Jimmy Golden tomorrow night at The Big One here in Memphis. Dirty White Boy says he didn’t have to look very far for a partner, and motioned to the dressing room.
Mr. Olympia made his way into the studio and shook hands with Dirty White Boy. The masked man told Lance Russell that it’s inherent that rivalries in this sport get personal, but there’s never a reason to bring a man’s wife into an in-ring disagreement. Mr. Olympia is looking forward to fighting side-by-side with the Dirty White Boy tomorrow night and kicking the Stud Stable’s butts. Dirty White Boy warns Jamie Dundee that if the Fantastics don’t finish him off tomorrow night, he’ll do the job himself if Dundee sticks his nose into the match!
Match #2: Southeastern Heavyweight Title
‘Wildfire’ Tommy Rich (c) vs. Jeff Jarrett
These two fan favourites shake hands as the bell ring and are about to look up… when Sir Oliver Humperdink leads his Triangle of Terror into the ring! Jos LeDuc and Kamala begin wailing on Tommy Rich, while Jeff Gaylord catches Jeff Jarrett by surprise with a lariat across the back of the neck. Rich and Jarrett are trying to fight back, but they are outnumbered by these monsters! Sir Oliver Humperdink tosses Gaylord the ringside chair and he drills Jarrett across the forehead, drawing blood. Meanwhile, LeDuc and Kamala are gouging the Southeastern Heavyweight Champion Tommy Rich. Luckily, The Fantastics, the Dirty White Boy, Mr. Olympia and Curtis Hughes arrive to run off the Triangle of Terror. While medics tend to Jarrett and Rich, let’s go to the Personality Profile with Gordon Solie.

PERSONALITY PROFILE
-WITH-
GORDON SOLIE
Gordon Solie: “Hello and welcome wrestling fans to this special Personality Profile. I'm Gordon Solie. My guest today is the brand new PPW Heavyweight Champion ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig. Mr. Perfect won this championship last week in Chicago, Illinois over the very capable Dick Slater. Before we speak, let’s take a look at that match.”
--Joined in Progress--
… Now, the PPW Heavyweight Champion Dick Slater is signaling for the end here in the International Amphitheatre. Slater is pulling Hennig up, he hooks him and he’s going for the brain-buster! However, Hennig slips out of the back! As a bewildered Slater turns around, Curt Hennig drills him with a dropkick! Slater is rocked now as Hennig now pulls him in, hoists him and connects with the Perfect-Plex! Hennig bridges into the pin for the one… two… three! We have a brand new PPW Heavyweight Champion!
Gordon Solie: “Mr. Perfect, allow me first to extend my congratulations on a momentous victory.”
Curt Hennig: “Thank you very much, Gordon. Coming from a man with such an esteemed reputation such as yourself, I appreciate it. I’m proud to be sitting here with you as the PPW Heavyweight Champion. I don’t want to take anything away from Dick Slater. He’s a hell of a competitor. He’s just not in the same league as ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig - nobody is!”
Gordon Solie: “I think it’s fair to say that you have a lot of self-confidence, and it has admittedly served you well thus far in your stellar career. However, I understand you will soon by defending your title in the Southeast where there is a wealth of credible challengers.”
Curt Hennig: “That’s exactly right! When you’re the PPW Heavyweight Champion, you go where the action is. In fact, I’ll be in Birmingham at the Boutwell Auditorium on July 2 to defend this title against Adrian Adonis. Now, Adrian is one of the all-time greats in this sport and a man who will no doubt give me a hell of a challenge. But he’s not going to beat me. Just like Tommy Rich, or Jeff Jarrett or the Dirty White Boy or even Jerry Lawler himself, wherever the hell he is these days, will never be able to beat me. And it’s for one simple reason! I’m perfect, they’re not!”
Gordon Solie: “There you have it, fans! A very confident Curt Hennig ahead of his title defence against Adrian Adonis on July 2 in Birmingham. For Power Pro Wrestling, this is Gordon Solie signing off!”

Lance Russell and Dave Brown bring us back from break by informing viewers that medics are working on both Southeastern Heavyweight Champion Tommy Rich and Jeff Jarrett after that heinous attack by Sir Oliver Humperdink’s Triangle of Terror. ‘Imagine What I Can Do To You’ then plays in the studio and out comes Adrian Street, who’s still agitated about the two-on-one attack from PY Chu Hi and Tojo Yamamoto last week. Adrian has always said there’s something very strange about a cowboy, but there’s something even stranger at a fat hillbilly from Jackson, Tennessee pretending he’s the Karate Kid! Street doesn’t question Hickerson’s deviousness and he certainly knows Tojo will try to get his shots in, so he’ll need to have eyes in the back of his head at The Big One!
Match #3: Jamie Dundee (w/ Bill Dundee, Jimmy Golden and Bull Pain) vs. John Paul
This was a farce from the second the bell rang.Jamie Dundee continuously distracted the referee, while his father Bill Dundee, Bull Pain and Jimmy Golden took shots at John Paul behind referee Tommy Gilbert’s back. In fact, Jamie Dundee didn’t get a single manuever in on Paul, who was finally decked with chain behind the referee’s back by Bill Dundee. Jamie then redirects referee Tommy Gilbert as he covers John Paul for the three count!
WINNER: JAMIE DUNDEE
As the Dundees celebrate after the match, we get a classic “Oh, come on!” from Lance Russell. Jamie Dundee crows that he’s now undefeated in the ranks of professional wrestling, which the Fantastics definitely can’t say about themselves. But now, Jamie wants to talk about The King. Last week, Jamie promised he’d be the man to bring The King back to Memphis Wrestling and he’s done it! So now, without further adieu, Jamie Dundee would like to welcome The King.
The famous music begins playing in the studio as the fans, Lance Russell and Dave Brown anxiously await what could be a historic moment. After a few seconds, there’s a collective groan as into the studio walks…
ROY LEE WELCH?!
(The crowd is jeering as Jamie Dundee and Bill Dundee both bend the knee as Roy Lee Welch walks over to the announce desk.)
Lance Russell: “Oh gimme a break, Jamie. Billy, what are you letting him get away with this stuff for?”
Bill Dundee: “I don’t what you’re talkin’ about, Lancer! My boy brought The King home to Memphis. Long live the King!”
Jamie Dundee: “I told ya’all! I told ya’all THE KEEEEEEEEENG was back in Mempho and I delivered!”
Lance Russell: “Roy, what’s this all about? I suppose Jamie went out and bought you the cheap crown and robe from the local costume shop?”
Jamie Dundee: “How dare you, old man! Nobody speaks to the KEEEEEEEENG like that, you hear me?”
Roy Lee Welch: “First of all, peasant, you refer to me as The King of Wrestling or we’re going to have some problems. You hear?”
Lance Russell: “Okay, okay, King Roy. What’s this all about?”
Roy Lee Welch: “Russell, the city of Memphis needed its King back. I’ve been off conquering other areas for many a year, but your King has come home to rule alongside the Stud Stable! I’ll even grace you by stepping into the ring… so long as all of my subjects and opponents bend the knee whenever I appear!”
Lance Russell: “I’ve had about enough of this. Let’s go to break.”

A banged Jeff Jarrett and ‘Wildfire’ Tommy Rich join Lance Russell as we come back from commercial break. Jeff Jarrett wants to know why big, strong Jeff Gaylord needed a chair to get the upper hand on him. The doctors aren’t sure if he’s in any condition to wrestle, but Jarrett has demanded a match with the Missouri Tiger tomorrow night at The Big One! Jeff Gaylord charges through the curtain and wants another piece of Jeff Jarrett, but Sir Oliver Humperdink holds his man back. Humperdink tells Jeff Jarrett that the youngster signed his own death certificate by signing up for this match, before dragging Gaylord away.
As for Tommy Rich, Wildfire asked for a match of his own for tomorrow night. It will be a tag team match as Kamala and Jos LeDuc step into the ring against himself… and the Universal Heartthrob Austin Idol! That’s right, Austin Idol will return to Memphis Wrestling tomorrow night at The Big One and he’s going to be ALL FAAAAAAARED UP! The fans are on their feet cheering at that huge announcement, as we move back to the ring.
Match #4: Dirty White Boy vs. Tony Falk
This one is all White Boy as he takes all of frustrations with Bull Pain and the Stud Stable out on poor Tony Falk. After pummeling the hapless Falk for a few minutes, Dirty White Boy plants his opponent with the Bucksnort Blaster. Dirty White Boy covers Falk and hooks the leg for an academic three count.
WINNER: DIRTY WHITE BOY
Before we go to our next commercial break, Lance Russell and Dave Brown want to bring the fans a very special look at ‘The Universal Heartthrob’ Austin Idol ahead of his return at The Big One on Sunday night:

Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, collectively known as The Fantastics, are out with Lance Russell as we come back from commercial break. The Fantastics saw Jamie Dundee’s farce of a match earlier in the show, but Bobby Fulton wants Jamie to know he won’t be able to get away with that crap at The Big One tomorrow night. Normally, the Fantastics like to play it straight in the ring. However, they don’t just want to beat the Dundees tomorrow night - they want to shut their big mouths for good!
Match #5: Jeff Gaylord and Jos LeDuc (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink and Kamala) vs. Johnny Boyd and Keith Eric
This is a massacre as Gaylord and LeDuc absolutely brutalize Boyd and Eric throughout the entirety of the match from bell to bell. The Missouri Tiger lifts Boyd above his head, press him several times and then slams him to the canvas. As Johnny Boyd gets to this feet, Gaylord hits the ropes and nearly takes his head off with a lariat. LeDuc makes the tag now, grabs Boyd by the throat by both hands, lifts him high in the air and then slams him to the canvas. Leduc puts his foot on Johnny Boyd’s chest for the academic three count.
WINNERS: Jeff Gaylord and Jos LeDuc
After the bell, Sir Oliver Humperdink motions for Kamala to hit the ring to help LeDuc and Gaylord continue their attack on both Keith Eric and Johnny Boyd. However, there’s soon a massive commotion because hitting the ring are Jeff Jarrett, Tommy Rich… and THE UNIVERSAL HEARTTHROB AUSTIN IDOL! Idol has an axe-handle that he uses to batter LeDuc across the back. Idol then drills Gaylord with the axe-handle, then a shot for Kamala. Sir Oliver eventually calls off his Triangle of Terror as the fans pop.
(Austin Idol leads Tommy Rich and Jeff Jarrett over to the announce desk where he shakes with Lance Russell and Dave Brown, before taking the microphone.)
Austin Idol: “Memphis, Tennessee - the women’s pet and the men’s regret is back in town, Jackson! I got a message for big fat Humperdink. You bring your monsters to The Big One. Don’t feed ‘em so they’re at the mean and nastiest. We want them at their nastiest because it’s going to make it so much more sweet when we beat their brains in! And Humperdink, I’m bringing this axe-handle, my beautiful Minerva, to The Big One and you can damn sure bet that I’m going to use it! Idolmania is running wild all over again!”
Lance Russell and Dave Brown get one more big push for the card tomorrow night at The Big One before wrapping up this week’s edition of Memphis Wrestling, brought to you by Power Pro Wrestling.
