Mike Tenay and Bob Backlund open the show.

Tenay, “Welcome to 'ACW Live!' We are in our home city of Los Angeles, and what a night we have for you. The first thing we are going to look at is some film from yesterday. Shoehei Baba, the President of All Japan Professional Wrestling. Mr. Baba has come to America to talk with President Zbyszko about the 'WAR' problem. They met for several hours at the Ambassador Hotel. Afterward they held this press conference. Lee Marshall and Tommy Watanabe were there.”



We see the ballroom of the Ambassador Hotel. Baba, Zbyszko, Marshall and Watanabe are seated at a long table. Journalists fill the room.

Marshall speaks first.

Marshall, “This press conference was called by Mr. Zbyszko and Mr. Baba. They will address the 'WAR' problem and also the relationship between AJPW and ACW. Mr. Zbyszko, the floor is yours.”

Zbyszko, “Thanks Lee. Mr. Baba and I have been meeting and discussing our situation. Tenyru and his 'thugs' have turned us on our ear. All six of them, seven now with Kong, are fine wrestlers, but the didn't need to come to ACW in this manner. They have chosen to 'invade' and we don't know why. I'd like to have some answers. I'll turn things over to Mr. Baba.”

Tommy Watanabe translates.

Baba, “Thank you and I am so glad to be in America, and ACW. Over a year ago, All-Japan Wrestling entered into an agreement with ACW and we have both benefited from this agreement. Genichiro Tenryu is a fine wrestler, and WAR is a strong promotion in Japan, but they have chosen to act in a manner that is outside the rules of the sport. Just like Mr. Zbyszko, I do not know why they are here, but All Japan will stand with ACW to combat this invasion.”

Marshall, “There you have it. Two strong wresting organizations who are standing together.”

The scene shifts back to Tenay and Backlund.

Tenay, “Mr. Backlund, Mr. Baba and Mr. Zbyszko have forged a strong partnership.”

Backlund, “Two moronic boobs! This company is doomed!”

Tenay, “Mr. Backlund, positive as usual. Now speaking of Giant Baba, he is here tonight and will be in our first match. He will team with the Patriot and Jun Akiyama to take on three wildmen, the Moondogs, Spike, Spot and Cujo. Let's go to the ring.”

Six Man Tag Team Match
Giant Baba, The Patriot and Jun Akiyma vs. The Moondogs (Spike, Spot and Cujo)

The wild Moondogs wait in the ring. The veteran Baba and his two young partners come to the ring. The LA crowd goes crazy. The Moondogs bite, kick, punch and gouge, but the Patriot and Akiyama match that with wrestling. Baba tags in. he uses his chops to drop Spot and covers him for the win.

Lee Marshall is with the Public Enemy.

Marshall, “With me is the Public Enemy. Gentlemen, you have been very impressive sincearriving in ACW and next week could be your night, you face the American Tag Team Champions, the 'Pacific Cyclones'. They are members of WAR.”

Grunge, “Oh Rocco, those two little Japanese guys look funny in those masks, but the other WAR guys carry baseball bats.”

Rocco, “They better have bats! Johnny and I have been fighting our whole lives, six guys with bats don't scare us! They show, we'll show 'em what it's like in the hood!”

Marshall, “Public Enemy try to take the titles back from WAR next week. This week they will meet Charlie Norris and the Colorado Kid.”

After the match, Rocco Rock moonsaults the Kid through a table.

Johnny Smith def. Sho Funaki, w/Missile Dropkick

Marshall is with Tommy Watanabe.

Marshall. “I am with Japanese Wrestling expert Tommy Watanabe. Tommy, in a few minutes we will see Hakushi debut in ACW. You have told about this man. He sounds, and looks very impressive.”

Watnabe, “The 'White Angel' is very impressive. We can only hope to see his Ogami Watari, the 'Pryaing Rope Walk', it has to be seen to be believed. Hakushi is one of the top athletes in the sport and he will be a great addition to our roster.”

Marshall, “When we return, Hakushi will be in the ring and Tommy will join Mike and Bob on the call.”

Hakushi vs. Mannukea Mossman

Hakushi is spectacular in his debut. He uses his handspring elbow to punish Mossman. He then moves to the Ogami Watari, walking the rope while working on the arm, all why praying. He continues in prayer and then hits the Koya Otoshi (Crucifix Powerbomb) for the win. What a debut!

Wolf Hawkfield def. Richard Slinger, w/Cyber Spear

Tenay and Backlund are with Larry Zbyszko.

Tenay, “With us President Zbyszko. Mr. President, the next two matches feature wrestlers from WAR, Masato Tanaka and Mike Awesome. Both men are very talented, but as you said earlier, why are they here and what is Tenryu up to?”

Zbyszko, “It's a mystery. These men are talented, but they have been one step ahead of us. It's like they know what we are going to do before they do it. I don't know what's going on.”

Backlund, “Of course you don't, you are an ignoramus. An imbecile, a poppinjay! And you run this once great organization.”

Zbyskzo. “Any time you want to step up and help, Bob, feel free to do just that.”

Backlund, “I wouldn't sully myself to help you.”

Tenay, “O.K., O.K. Let;s get to the ring.”

Match #7
Masato Tanaka w/Genichiro Tenryu vs. Crush

Tanaka attacks Crush before the bell. He pounds away at the big Hawai'ian. Tanaka is a very physical wrestler and the larger Crush is in trouble. The Hawai'i rallies, but it's brief. He gets in a few shots, but Tanaka uses his Complete Dust (Sitout Side Powerslam) for the win.

Mike Awesome w/Genichiro Tenryu vs. Brutus Beefcake

Beefcake struts confidently around the ring. He shows his clippers to Awesome, who does not see impressed. The bell rings and the match is on. Beefrcake puts up a fight, but he is no match for Awesome. He works over Beefcake and wins with a Powerbomb, what a night for WAR!

Giant Baba joins Zbyszko, Tenay and Backlund.

The program opens with highlights of last week.

Giant Baba joins Zbyszko, Tenay and Backlund.

Tenay, “Mr. Baba has joined us. Mr. Baba, congratulations on your victory tonight and thank you for your pledge of support for ACW.”

Suddenly the seven members of WAR come out and surround the group.

Tenay, “What's going on? What's happening?”

Backlund, “Zbyszko, you are a very stupid man.”

Medical personnel check on Zbyszko, as security holds back Backlund.

Mike Tenay is standing alone.

Tenay, “Bob Backlund showed his true colors. He was behind WAR all along, but why? We still don't know the answer to that question. What we do know is, Bob Backlund is no longer an announcer for ACW. He has been removed from that position by President Zbyszko, who by the way, is recovered and will be with us later. We all know I can't do this job by myself, so we have a replacement. Someone you all know and love, maybe, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan.”



Heenan comes out to a mixed reaction. He extends his hand to Tenay. Tenay reaches for it and Heenan pulls it away and laughs.

Tenay, “Welcome Brain!”

Heenan, “O.K. Tenay, you can have an autograph after the show. It is great to be here in the 'Goldfish Bowl'”

Tenay, “That's 'Shark Tank'.”

Heenan, “It doesn't matter, we don't keep fish in Beverly Hills. We don't have pets, we have servants”

Tenay, “The 'Brain' is with us, so let's go to our first match.”

The Terminator def. Brutus Beefcake w/Claw

Lee Marshall is with Bradshaw.

Marshall, “With me is Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw, you want the American Television Title. You fell you were passed over, but now you get your shot. You met Big Titan, next week, on 'ACW Live!”.

Bradshaw, “It's about time! I beat Hawkfield time and time again, and then somehow, Titan was shoved in ahead of me, thanks to Backlund, I suppose! Now I get my shot, and I'm going to make the best of it!”

Marshall, “What about the other members of WAR?”

Bradshaw, “Let all of them stick their noses into things! I'll take Tenryu and dropkick him back to Japan and I;ll pound Backlund into dust, let them try!”

Marshall, “Next week, Bradshaw challenges Big Titan for the Television Title, this week, he takes on the Eagle in what will be a great match as well.”

The Eagle vs. Bradshaw

The masked man takes the fight to Bradshaw. He backs the big Texan into the corner and whips him out of the corner. Bradshaw reverses it and sends the Eagle into the ropes. Bradshaw hits the Clothesline for the win.

Tenay and Heenan are in the interview area.

Tenay, “Bobby, we will talk with Mr. Bob Backlund in a few minutes. What do you think of WAR?”

Heenan, “Well, being the top broadcast journalist in all sports, I have keen insight on this situation. First of all, if WAR would like to grease my palm, I mean hire me as a consultant, I could tell them where they have made their mistakes and help them achieve their goal.”

Tenay, “That's very insightful.”

Heenan, “That's why they call me the 'Brain'.”

Tenay, “Alright, here is the leader of 'WAR', Bob Backlund.”

Backlund walks out with the Warlord.



Tenay, “Mr. Backlund, this is the Warlord.”

Backlund, “That's right, it is the Warlord. He is also my new personal bodyguard. When you are as important as I am, many people would like to see me fail, so this man will watch my back. If you look through the record book, you will find that the Warlord and myself, along with Scott Putski, held the WAR Six Man Tag Team Titles. You wonder where the connection between myself and WAR is, that's where you should start.”

Tenay, “Can you tell us the mission of WAR?”

Backlund, “You will get that information when you need it, not before.”

Tenay, “We get a little of the picture, but not all of it.”

Teany and Heenan are in the broadcast booth.

Tenay, “O.K. Brain, we have two matches left and they are both main event quality tag team matches. We will see a great six man tag team match. The Unified Tag Team Champions, Mitsuahru Misawa and Kenta Kobashi, team with Jun Akiyama to take on the Crown of the King Champion, Toshiaki Kawada, Akira Taue and Shinjiro Ohtani. Brain, what do you think?”

Heenan, “It sound like a great match, but after you watch it, you'll be hungry again in an hour.”

Tenay, Oh Brain, this is going to be a wild ride.”

Six Man Tag Team Match
Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi and Jun Akiyama vs. Toshiaki Kawada, Akira Taue and Shinjiro Ohtani

Kawada and Misawa square off. They trade holds and counter holds and both trade haymakers. Neither man is able to gain an advantage. Taue and Akiyama are in next. Taue uses his size and strength to take over. Taue tags in Ohtani and he continues to work over Akiyama. Jun is able to tag in Kobashi and the “Orange Crush” is able to finish off Ohtani with a brainbuster. What a match!

Marshall, “Mark the date April 21 on your calendar. ACW returns to Pay Per View. We will be at the beautiful Reunion Arena in Dallas, TX for “Texas Shootout”! This is the name of the Pay Per View, and it's also the main event that evening. Thirty ACW Superstars will enter the 'Texas Shootout'. Numbers will be drawn and numbers one and two will start the match. One minute later, number three will enter, then number four and so on. You are eliminated by being tossed over the top rorpe. The man who is left is the winner. We have seen these matches called 'Royal Rumbles', 'King of the Hill', etc. ACW will do it 'Texas Style'. Stay tuned for more information.

Teany and Heenan are in the announce booth.

Tenay, “Wow! Brain, 'Texas Shootout'. That will be exciting.”

Heenan, “Texas, cowboys, horses and longhorns, I can't wait. Watch where you step.”

Teany, “The 'Shootout Match' sounds fantastic. We are now ready for our main event. The Pacific Cyclones, members of WAR, defend the American Tag Team Titles against Public Enemy.”

Heenan, “Well I've only been around here for a couple of days, but these 'Pacific Cyclones' impress me. I know a lot about tag team wrestling, for a percent of their salaries I'd be happy to act as an adviser, say 75-80%.”

Teany,, “Brain, you are quite the humanitarian.”

Heenan, “I'm the 'Brain', what did you expect?”

Tenay, “Let's go to our tag team title match.”

American Tag Team Championship
The Pacific Cyclones (Champions) w/Bob Backlund and the Warlord vs. The Public Enemy

the speed and athleticism of the Cyclones take over early. They tag in and out, and Public Enemy are in trouble. Rock and Grunge will not quit. They rally and turn this into a brawl. This is PE's game they pound away on the masked men, but Naniwa and Delphin are Champions, and they go toe to toe with the “Hoodies”. Naniwa cathes Grunge in the Clutch de Naniwa and Grunge submits! After the beel, the remainder of WAR hit the ring. They work over Public Enemy. Both of them are out. Big Titan and Masato Tanaka pull two tables into the ring. They place them in the middle of the ring. Mike Awesome powerbombs Rocco Rock through one table, and the Warlord puts Johnny Grunge through the other. WAR stand, triumphant, in the ring, while the Public Enemy lie in the broken remains of two tables.

Tenay and Heenan close the show.

Tenay, “Bobby, that was terrible, WAR continues to do what they want, when they want!”

Heenan, “You know something, Tenay, I've only been around for little while, but I'm incredible intelligent, Did you notice something? No one came to help Public Enemy. WAR is together, it doesn't look like ACW is. That's a bad thing for Zbyszko and the rest of us.”

Tenay, “You're right about that Brain. Let's talk about next week. Big Titan defends the American Tag Team Title against Bradshaw, also we will see Genichiro Tenryu in action, for the first time, he will face the Terminator, and we will here more about the 'Texas Shootout'. What do you think Brain?”

Heenan, “ACW better get organized, or they're in trouble.”

Tenay, “Well said, Brain.”

Tenay, “Welcome to Tacoma, WA and the beautiful Tacoma Dome. Brain, this is one of our favorite stops on tour. We love the Dome.”

Heenan, “It's made of wood! A gang of woodpeckers could take this place apart in five minutes.”

Tenay, “Thank you Marlon Perkins. We have a fantastic night of wrestling for you tonight. Big Titan defends the American Television Title against the Number One Contender Bradshaw. We will see one of the leaders of WAR, Genichiro Tenryu, in the ring against the Terminator. The women will be back in action. With all that, the fans in the Northwest will be very interested in our next segment. Let's go to the ring where Lee Marshall is with a Northwest Legend, 'Playboy” Buddy Rose.”

Lee Marshall and Larry Zbyszko are in the ring with “Playboy” Buddy Rose.



Marshall, “Fans, with us is a man who is well known in the Northwest, a man who packed arenas in Washington and Oregon for 20 years. We are here tonight to honor a legend in the world of professional wrestling. I'll let President Zbyszko finish the introduction.”

Zbyszko, “I came to the Northwest when I was a rookie. I met Buddy Rose and he beat the heck out of me in the ring. He taught me lessons that I carried with me for 20 glorious years in professional wrestling. Wrestling today is popular because of men like Buddy Rose. We have this plaque to honor the work Buddy has done in wrestling.”

Zbyszko hands the plaque to Rose.

Rose, “Thank you Larry. I did my best to entertain the fans, sometimes they loved me, but most of the time they hated me, but they never ignored me.”

With this, Bob Backlund and WAR come to ringside.

Zbyszko, “Backlund, get out of here. This is Buddy's time.”

Backlund, “Rose, you fat pig, I beat you in Madison Square Garden, Boston Garden, the Specturm and anywhere else we wrestled. You don't deserve an award, I do!”

Rose takes the mike from Zbyszko.

Rose, “Backlund, you're nuts! You were a good wrestler, but it looks like you've slipped a gear...”

Mike Awesome has circled around and entered the ring. He powerbombs Rose and Buddy hits the mat with a thud. Awesome leaves the ring and WAR returns to the back.

Medical personnel come to work on Rose. We go to commercial.

Tenay and Heenan and in the announce the position.

Tenay, “WAR strikes again! Brain, this is ridiculous!”

Heenan, “You can badmouth them all you want, but they are organized and they have beaten ACW at every turn. They are powerful and could be even more powerful if they had an adviser, who was paid a lot of money, say like me.”

Tenay, “Maybe they'll call you. Now let's go to the ring.”

Watanabe, “I have followed his carer for a long time. He;s one of the all time greats.”

Heenan, “You don't have to butter me up. I always tip you when you deliver my laundry.”

Tenay, “O.K. Let's talk about our women's matches. First of all, Akira Hokuto is back in action. She takes on Chigusa Nogayo, one of the Crush Girls'.”

Watanabe, “Hokuto's loss of the Red Belt, to Aja Kong, was a shocking event. Add in the fact that Kong has joined WAR, and the controversy of the match is even more intriguing. Nagayo is a fine wrestler and this will be a great match. I'm picking the 'Dangerous Queen”

Tenay, “In our second match, we will see a youngster, Mariko Yoshida tale on 'La Bruja', Miss Jaenth.”

Watanabe, “Yoshida is a young wrestler, who is very skilled in submission wrestling. They call the 'Spider Woman'. She is a up and coming star in Japan.”

Tenay, “It looks like we are in for a treat.”

Stan Hansen is with Lee Marshall.

Marshall, “With is, Stan Hansen, the American Heavyweight Champion. Stan, you finished off Steve Williams, and now you're looking for more competition. It might come from WAR. What do you think of that?”

Hansen, “Do you think I care who I wrestle?”

He slams his hat and bullrope to the floor.

Hansen, “I've wrestled in Japan for 15 years, I've wrestled them all! I don't care if you're from Japan, American, Canada, or Finland! I'll wrestle them and I'll beat them!”

Marshall, “People have talked about young Mike Awesome as an opponent.”

Hansen, “So what? I'll beat him, get him in the ring and I'll teach that punk a lesson!”

Marshall, “The Champion is in rare form. When we return he will be in the ring.”

Non-Title Match
Stan Hansen (American Heavyweight Champion) vs. Crush

The big Hawaiian is a good match for the Champion. The early pace is slow and Crush holds his own. He traps Hansen in the bearhug, but Stan gets to the ropes. The match is very close, but Hansen hits the Lariat for the win.

Bob Backlund and the Warlord are with Tenay and Heenan.

Tenay, “With us are Mr. Backlund and the Warlord. Mr. Backlund, your attack on Buddy Rose was disgusting, as well as your attack on Public enemy last week, why are you, and WAR. Doing these things?”

Backlund, “WAR is the strongest force in professional wrestling. I am the most brilliant man in the sport. With the help of Genichiro Tenryu, we came and we conquered, ACW is on its knees quaking in fear. Tonight you will see Mr. Tenryu in action. He will destroy this face painted imbecile, the Terminator. Then Big Titan will retain the Television Title and ACW will take another backwards step.”

Tenay, “But why?”

Backlund, “In due time, everything will be revealed.”

Tenay, “I guess we wait. Now let's see Tenryu in action.”

Heenan, “Bob, let me talk to you a minute.”

Heenan and Backlund walk away from Tenay.”

Genichiro Tenryu w/Bob Backlund and the Warlord def. The Terminator, w/Folding Powerbomb

Lee Marshall is seated in front of the “Texas Shootout” banner.



Marshall, “Remember the date, April 21, Dallas, TX, Reunion Arena, ACW presents 'Texas Shootout'! This will be a revolutionary night in wrestling. The 'Texas Shootout' match will feature 30 top ACW Superstars. Number will be drawn and numbers one and two will start in the ring. Then every minute another man will enter. To be eliminated, you must be thrown over the top rope. The sole survivor will be the winner. That would be enough, but we have so much more. We have two matches to add. First off, the WWWA Title will be on the line, Akira Hokuto will challenge, the woman who took the 'Red Belt' from her, Aja Kong. Remember Kong is a member of WAR, so that makes things tough for the 'Dangerous Queen'. In another match featuring members of WAR. The Pacific Cylcones will defend the American Tag Team Titles against the Bruise Brothers. We will add more matches in the coming weeks, but I want everyone to watch this mysterious video.”

We see a video of a dense forest. A haunting voice over is heard.



“He's coming out of the wilderness, he's coming back, in Dallas on April 21, he will return.”

Marshall, “I don't know what to make of that.”

Tenay and Heenan are at the announce table.


Tenay, “First of all, that video was strange, and secondly, Brain what were you and Backlund talking about?”

Heenan, “Just some business. ll tell you later.”

Tenay, “I don't like the sound of that. Now lets see out Television Title match.”

American Television Championship
Big Titan (Champion) w/Bob Backlund and the Warlord vs. Bradshaw

Bradshaw paces back and forth like a caged animal. Big Titan comes to the ring and Backlund attempts to taunt the big Texan. Bradshaw will have none of it. He attacks Titan and the match is on. He pounds away at the mysterious man. He whips Titan into the ropes and sets for a clothesline. Titan grabs the ropes and slides to the floor. He tries to confer with Backlund, but Bradshaw takes to the floor after him. He tosses the Champion back in the ring and goes after him again. Bradsahw is in trouble until Backlund reaches in and grabs his ankle. This distracts the Texan and allows Titan to go to work. He gets in some good shots, and then Bradshaw rallies. They slug it out and the bell rings. The time limit has expired.
Result-Time Limit Draw

Tenay and Backlund are at the announce table.

Tenay, Wow! Bradshaw went toe to toe with Big Titan. That's what ACW needs. Now Brain, tell us what you and Backlund were talking about.”

Heenan, “Well I am the top broadcast journalist in wrestling, so Bob and I conducted some business.”

Tenay, “What kind of business? Are you working for WAR now?”

Heenan, “I'd rather not divulge what we talked about. There are several loose ends. I'll tell you next week.”

Tenay, “This really scares me, but I guess we have to wait until next week. Speaking of next week, besides the Brain's big news, we will see several top matches. We will see the Unified Tag Team Champions in action. Mitusharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi will defend the Titles against the Patriot and the Eagle, and Masato Tanaka, of WAR, will take on Bobby Duncum Jr. Those are two talented youngsters who will give us a great match. Now Brain, can't you tell us something about your announcement?”

Heenan, “Yea, it's next week.”

Tenay, “O.K. Let's go to the ring.

Two young, fast, wrestlers put on a display of holds and counter holds. Sudden;y someone comes down the ramp and enters the ring.

It's Sid Vicious.



Vicious powerbombs both men and stands over them.

Tenay, “Sid Vicious! What a shock. What is he doing here?”

Heenan, “But who's side is he on?”

Tenay gives Heenan a quizzical look.

Mike Tenay and Bobby Heenan open the show.

Tenay, “Welcome to Salt Lake City and the Delta Center. Brain, what do you think of Utah?”

Heenan, “Everyone has 250 teeth and their last name is Osmond, what a place!”

Tenay, “Glad you like it Brain. We have a lot to talk about, and the first thing is this big announcement you have.”

Brain, “Tenay, you really are annoying, you know that? Well here's what's happening, my people and Backlund's people are meeting in the back. They promise they will have all the information I need after tonight’s fist match.”

Tenay, “O.K. I guess we can wait a little bit longer. Now let's talk about tonight's show. Our main event was supposed to be a Unified Tag Team Title match between the Champions, Misawa and Kobashi, and the Patriot and the Eagle. I say, was supposed to be because we have a problem. Let's go to Lee Marshall and the Eagle for more information.”

Marshall and the Eagle are in the interview area.

Marshall, “With me is the Eagle. He and the Patriot were scheduled to challenge Mitsuahru Misawa and Kenta Kobashi for the Unified Tag Team Championship. March is an unpredictable month, weather wise, and this has been proven out by what happened to the Patriot. I'll let the Eagle tell us what happened.”

Eagle, “The Patriot was wrestling in St. Paul, MN and was supposed to fly out this morning, but a snowstorm hit Minnesota and he was stranded. “

Marshall, “That is a shame. The fans were excited about this match. By the rules, you can chose a substitute partner for the match, Have you chosen one?”

Eagle, “I haven't had time to ask anyone, but I have someone in mind.”

Marshall, “Who is that!”

Eagle, “I want Sid Vicious to come out here.”

Marshall, “Sid Vicious! You have to be kidding!”

Eagle, “He's here and he's one of the best in the business, I want him as my partner.”

Marshall, “Can you trust him?”

With that, Vicious walks out.



Eagle, “Sid, I need a partner and you're the best out there. Team up with me.”

The Eagle extends his hand. Vicious hesitates and then takes his hand. The crowd explodes, but Vicious pulls the Eagle to him and powerbombs him to the floor and walks away. The Eagle is hurt.

Marshall, “Oh no! Sid Vicious cannot be trusted! Does he work for WAR? We will get help for the Eagle and when we return, a newcomer from England, Norman Smiley, will take on Richard Slinger.”

Tenay, “Brain, it's time for your big announcement, but before that, we have news about the Unified Tag Team Title match tonight. We don't know who the opponents will be, but their will be a match. Now Brain, what do you have to tell us?”

Heenan, “Well I am the top broadcast journalist in the sport. I have my finger on the pulse of wrestling. I came to ACW to educate the humanoids, and to cash pretty big checks. Bob Backlund showed up as the head of WAR, he's nuts, but he's put together an organized, terrorist organization and that he been one step ahead of ACW at every turn. But why? Well I'm going to find out. I'm going to sit down with Bob Backlund and interview him this week. The next time, on 'ACW Live!' you, Tenay, and the rest of the ham and eggers will get to watch it. I'll ask him the tough questions.”

Tenay, “Wow! Brain, you really have pulled a coup! Bob Backlund and WAR, all the tough questions. I can't wait. You have to ask about Sid Vicious.”

Heenan, “I'll ask the tough questions, you can count on the Brain.”

Tenay, “Let's go to the ring.”

Lee Marshall is seated in front of the “Texas Shootout” banner.

Marshall. “Welcome to the 'Texas Shootout' control center! April 21 is the date and Reunion Arena, in Dallas, is the place. We have announced a few matches, and tonight we have even more! You know that Aja Kong, of WAR, will defend the 'Red Belt' against the woman she won it from Aira Hokuto. You know that the Pacific Cyclones will defend the American Tag Team Titles against the Bruise Brothers. Those are two chances for ACW to regain titles, but WAR has another chance to defend an ACW title. Big Titan will defend the American Television Title against Bradshaw. Those three matches would be enough, but then we have the big 'Texas Shootout'. Thirty Superstars will draw numbers. One and two will begin, and then every minute after that, a new man will enter. The only way to be eliminated is to be tossed over the top rope to the floor. The man who remains is the winner. There have been many rumors swirling about who will enter. There are rumors about 'returns' to ACW. Let's look at this.”

We see Jacques and Pierre, the Quebecers.



Pierre, “That's right, the greatest tag team in the world is coming back. The Quebecers will be in Dallas!”

Jacaues, “Pierre is right! The Quebecers are coming back and we will be the last two in the shootout, the new will regain the tag titles and we will control ACW!”

Marshall, “This man is also returning.”

We see Dave “Fit” Finlay.



Finlay, “My name's Finlay and I like to fight! You know me and you know what I can do. A thirty man fight is just what I'm looking for. The 'Belfast Bruiser' is coming back and he's ready to fight!”

Marshall, “The Quebecers, 'Fit' Finlay and then we have this.”

We see a video of a man walking through a blizzard. A voice over plays.



Voice over, “A solitary man walks thorough a blizzard of ridicule and scorn. He fights through winds of opposition and will emerge victorious, in Dallas!”

Marshall, “Wow! Who is this man?”

Tenay, “With us are the leader of WAR, Mr. Backlund, and his personal bodyguard, the Warlord. Mr. Backlund, you and the 'Brain' seemed to have struck a deal. We are going to find out why you, and the rest of WAR, are in ACW. Why tell us now?”

Backlund, “Tenay, you simpering simpleton, Bobby Heenan is the preeminant broadcast journalist in, not just wrestling, but in all of the media. He is the only man wno approaches the brillance of your's truly. I will speak with Mr. Heenan, and I know his question will be insightful and probing. Your ratings next week will rival the 'Who shot J.R.' episode that so many of the unwashed tuned into, so many years ago.”

Heenan, “The brain power in this interview will be something the humanoids will marvel at. They might need subtitles to translate our discussion into 'ham and egger', but they will be impressed.”

Tenay, “Alright, let's talk about tonight. Masato Tanaka takes on Bobby Duncum Jr. in our next match. Both men are two of the 'Young Lions' of wrestling. It should be a great match.”

Backlund, “Tanaka will dispatch this ignorant Texan with ease. WAR is here to stay.”

Tenay, “One more question, Mr. Backlund, does Sid Vicious work for you?”

Backlund, “This interview is over.”

Backlund and the Warlord walk away.

Tenay, “O.K. We have no answers. Maybe the Brain can get that information.”

Heenan, “I am the Brain.”

Bobby Duncum Jr. vs. Masato Tanaka w/Mr. Bob Backlund and the Warlord

This is a fast paced, hard hitting match. Duncum takes over early and Mr. Backlund is livid at ringside. He shouts instructions to Tanaka and the reckless Japanese youngster picks up the pace. He pounds away at Duncum and the crowd is into every punch. Finally both men fall to the arena floor and continue battling. Referee Jack Doane's count reaches ten and both men are counted out. Bobby Duncum Jr. has stood toe to toe with WAR.

Tenay and Heenan are in the announce position.

Tenay, “Brain, what a match! Bobby Duncum Jr. showed us a lot.”

Heenan, “I managed his father. He was a tough Texan. For a small percentage, say 75%, I'd manage Junior too.”

Tenay, “I'll pass that on to him. Now let's talk about next week. We will be in Vermillion, SD.”

Heenan, “Where?”

Tenay, “Vermillion, SD, at the beautiful Dakota Dome.”

Heenan, “Is that like that place made of plywood in Washington?”

Tenay, “It's different than the Tacoma Dome, but just as beautiful.”

Heenan, “Oh joy.”

Tenay, “Bobby not withstanding, here's what you will see. We have a six man tag team match scheduled. The Pacific Cyclones and Big Titan, representing WAR, will take on the Bruise Brothers and Brasshaw. These six men will be involved in two of the title matches at the 'Texas Shootout' and this will be a wild preview. We will also see the Warlord in action for the first time, and ...”

Heenan, “And you will see the Eric Sevareid of wrestling, me, interview Mr. Backlund. What a treat for all you 'nine to fivers'.”

Tenay, “It will be one for the ages, just like Frost interviewing Nixon. Now we have one more match. Because of what happened earlier, we don't know who the Challengers will be, but Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi will defend the Unified Tag Team Titles against...somebody. Let's go to the ring and find out.”

Unified Tag Team Championship
Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi (Champions) vs. ?

The Champions wait in the ring. Onto the ramp walk two Japanese wrestlers.

Tenay, “I know them, that's Jado and Gedo and they wrestle for, you guessed it, WAR!”

Jado and Gedo storm the ring , Backlund and the Warord right behind them, and the match is on. Misawa and Kobashi are ready and this is a pier six brawl. Misawa gets a two count of Jado, but before referee Chad Patton can count three, Gedo breaks things up. Both teams have their chances. Patton is ushering Misawa to the corner when the Warlord tosses Gedo a chair. He smashes Kobashi with it and tosses it back to the Warlord. Patton turns to see Jado covering Kobashi and counts 1...2...3! New Champions!

Backlund, Warlord and the the new Champions celebrate in the ring. Backlund takes the mike from Lee Marshall.

Backlund, “Once again. WAR, and Mr. Backlund reign supreme over wrestling. I want to take this opportunity to call out the man who helped with the great achievement, Sid Vicious!”

Vicious slowly walks down the ramp and enters the ring.

Backlund, “The most powerful man in wrestling, the man who rules the world!”

Backlund extends his hand. Vicious takes it, and then pulls Backlund to him and powerbombs him. The crowd explodes! Vicious stands over Backlund and Warlord, Jado and Gedo keep their distance and the program ends.
