Don Coss opens the program from the crow's nest!
Don Coss: Welcome everyone to Portland Wrestling ... I'm your host Don Coss for 60 minutes of action-packed wrestling from the House of Action, the Portland Sports Arena! Big news and announcements today but first, let me welcome the new Portland Wrestling Heavyweight Champion ... COCO SAMOA!
The fans cheer as the newly crowned champion makes his way to the crow's nest to join Coss.
Don Coss: Congratulations to you for winning the title in a woolly and wild match last week against Barry Orton as part of Tina Ferrari's Buddy Rose Army. Oh boy ... that just sounds strange and as strange as that sounds, the circumstances leading up the match were just as strange.
Coco Samoa: Don Coss, brudda, dis is Portland Wrestling ... you gotta expect the unexpected. It don't matter if it's Barry Orton, Buddy Rose, da Grappler or Rip Oliver, you gotta be ready, brudda and believe me, Coco Samoa is ready ...
The boobirds start as Tina Ferrari and Barry Orton make their way to the crow's nest.
Tina Ferrari: Don't get too comfy with that belt!
Barry Orton: Let me handle this, Tina. As the former champion, I want my rematch ... AND to ensure there is no funny business this time around, we are petitioning the Athletic Commission that Sandy Barr is not allowed to referee the rematch.
Don Coss: Sandy Barr? Care to elaborate?
Barry Orton: It's very simple, Don Coss, even you can understand it. Tina?
Tina Ferrari: You know as well as we do that Sandy Barr has a grudge with Buddy Rose and his Army. Something that has built up over the years. Any true wrestling fan knows it and has seen the biased officiating. To even the playing field and take away Samoa's unfair advantage, we are asking that Sandy Barr be excused from officiating the match.
Don Coss: Oh boy, Buddy Rose might not be here but the "Spirit" of his Army certainly lives on. Coco?
Coco Samoa: Lissen here, brudda ... Sandy Barr or no Sandy Barr, Coco Samoa will beat you again.
Don Coss: A challenge, a rematch and a title on the line. We have to take a break but we'll be right back for our first match of the evening!
x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x
We return to Don Coss in the crow's nest.
Don Coss: First up tonight, a bit of a challenge as Al Madril faces off against Mike Allen. Last week Mike Allen took on Brickhouse Brown and in a little game on one-up-manship, Madril gets his chance to better Brown's result ... let's go to the ring!
1st Match: Al Madril w/Brickhouse Brown versus Mike Allen
10 Minute Time Limit - Referee Bill Alfonso
Lots of talking between Madril and Brown as this one goes on with Mike Allen almost an afterthought. Big mistake by Madril as Allen uses it to his advantage, nearly rolling up Madril who comes up complaining about his hair being pulled. Strolling the outside of the ring, a snickering Brickhouse Brown talks to both the fans and Madril. Calling his shot, Madril steps it up and puts Allen away with the same spinning neckbreaker that Brown used last week.
Madril and Brown walk off laughing before we return to the crow's nest and Don Coss.
Don Coss: Al Madril with a win over Mike Allen keeps the rivalry between Madril and Brown going with only the loss to Scotty the Body the blemish against Madril. Joining me now, Don Owen ...
Don Owen: Don, I am here to officially announce next week's tournament right here on television. Four teams will be involved to produce a #1 Contender for the Tag Titles currently held by the Buddy Rose Army. The winner will move on to face the Champions the following week.
Don Coss: Several questions, Don. Who is involved and who will the winner of the tournament face?
Don Owen: I can announce three of the teams involved ... Abu Wizal's Abudas, Al Madril and Brickhouse Brown and a team closer to the hearts of the fans here in Jesse Barr and his uncle, Al. As for your second question, I have no idea who will be representing Tina Ferrari and the Buddy Rose Army ... I'm not so sure Miss Ferrari knows either.
Don Coss: Lots of action coming up in the House, aptly named, of Action. Thank you, Don ... and we'll be right back with our next match!
x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x
We return to the ring for our next match.
2nd Match: Eddie Watts versus Todd Morton
10 Minute Time Limit - Referee Sandy Barr
A battle of the smaller guys with Coss welcoming the Southern rookie Morton. Decent back and forth match with Watts being super stiff but Morton up to the task and returning fire. They battle outside of the ring and ignore Barr's count, forcing his hand with a countout. They continue to fight it out until forced apart by Barr and referee Bill Alfonso.
With the match over, Don Coss is joined by Scotty the Body. Scotty waves to the cheering fans who welcome him back following the brutal attack two weeks ago on him by Abu Wizal's troops.
Don Coss: Welcome back Scotty. Good to see you up and about following a very scary scene just two weeks ago at the hands of Abu Wizal's men. How are you feeling and when is there a return to the ring?
Scotty the Body: Thank you, Don. I'm feeling good and should be ready to return to the ring in a couple of weeks. With the tag tournament next week and the title match after that, I have a couple of weeks to enjoy the matches as one of the fans here.
Don Coss: Abu Wizal and his men ... anything to address on your return?
Scotty the Body: What goes around, comes around, Don. One day, Abu Wizal will get what's coming to him.
Don Coss: Before the attack, you wrestled a masterful match, beating a ring veteran in Al Madril. Seems that he and partner, Brickhouse Brown seem to have a little wager when it comes to you. Al Madril called the loss a case of you cheating while I think it is more a case of sour grapes. Brickhouse Borwn on the other hand wants a match to show up Madril.
Scotty the Body: I'm here to face the best in the business. That's why I'm here in Portland. Once I am allowed to get back in the ring, I'll be more than happy to wrestle Brickhouse Brown or anyone for that matter.
Don Coss: Alright Scotty, thanks for visiting. I can honestly say, I look forward to you getting back into action as I am sure these fans are. Ladies and gentlemen, Scotty the Body! We'll be right back!
x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x
3rd Match: Mark Starr versus Michelle Starr
10 Minute Time Limit - Referee Sandy Barr
Slow start to the match with the flamboyant Michelle delaying things by hugging the ropes. Once underway, Mark throws Michelle around the ring with a series of armdrags before working the arm.
Steve Doll joins Don Coss with the two talking over the upcoming tag tournament. Coss recaps last week's action as Mark Starr, apparently with a change of heart from his last stay in the territory, asking Steve Doll to join him as the Southern Rockers. They talk about their previous encounters and while it is hard to trust Mark Starr, even Doll has to admit that the two of them together as a team would be hard to ignore.
Mostly Mark Starr in this one until Michelle gains the upperhand with an eye rake before using his feather boa to strangle his opponent. This gets Steve Doll's attention as he stands from his position and looks ready to hit the ring. A couple of back elbows and Mark Starr is out of the predicament. Shortly after, a flying crossbody takes care of Michelle Starr, giving Mark the win.
OH BROTHER!
After the match, Coss and Doll are visited by Steven Dane, Mark Starr's former partner and accomplice in the Rocker's escapades some time back before he, too, was forced to vacate the territory. While Doll looks ready to defend himself, Dane holds his hands up, assuring Steve Doll, he's not looking for any trouble.
Don Coss: Steven Dane, what are you doing in these parts?
Steven Dane: Listen, I'm not here for any trouble. I'm just here to talk and conduct a little business. Steve, I'm just here to talk.
Steve Doll: Alright Dane, say your piece.
Steven Dane: That's all I'm asking for ... just a chance to say what's on my mind. Now, I don't have to get into what went down before ... I know it, you know it and each and every one of these fans know it. It was just two of the absolute best tag teams throwing down to be #1 in the Pacific NorthWest, using whatever they could to get that edge ...
Steve Doll: Edge? If I remember correctly, there was a lot of dirty pool from your side ...
Steven Dane: Look, Steve, I'm not going to argue with you there. Mark and I pulled some stuff that you have right to be mad about. I wouldn't blame you if you popped me in the mouth because if I was in your shoes, I'd be considering just that but I'm hoping cooler heads will prevail here and think for a second about two things ... gold and money. There's one spot left open in that tag tournament next week which means you haven't chosen Mark Starr yet as your partner ... so I'm here to ask you to consider me as your partner ... we've got brains, brawn, athletic skills, experience ... you name it, you and I got it and like Mark said to you last week, you know what I can do inside that ring just as well as I know what you can do. Steve, I'm asking you to think it over ... I think the two of us can run the table here and keep those belts for a long, long time ...
Mark Starr: Steve, my offer still stands. I asked you to consider it and give me a chance.
Don Coss: Two offers to ponder but right now, it is time to break for a commercial.
x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x
It is back to Don Coss in the crow's nest.
Don Coss: If you're just joining us, you missed the return of Steven Dane to the territory. The former Rocker was forced to leave Portland Wrestling after losing to the Southern Rockers. Now they return, BOTH asking Steve Doll to be his partner for the upcoming tag tournament to determine the #1 Contender to the tag titles currently held by Tina Ferrari as the executress of the Buddy Rose Army. Things are heating up here in Portland! Speaking of heating up, our main event in back to back weeks, is a title match as Mike Miller defends the Television Title against Ali Farat.
4th Match: Television Title Match: Mike Miller (C) versus Ali Farat w/Abu Wizal
10 Minute Time Limit - Referee Bill Alfonso
Miller warms up in his corner as Abu Wizal leads Sheik Ali Farat to the ring. Heavy booing from the fans while Wizal yells at them to shut up. Of course that only serves to make the booing louder.
Once underway, Miller locks up with Farat several times, each time breaking after pushing the other into the ropes. Miller and Farat with clean breaks until Farat eventual hits on the break before hiding behind the referee. The two take turns charging each other and hitting the other with a shoulder, knocking the other back a step or two. Farat goes for the eyes but is blocked before being knocked down with a final shoulder butt.
Running of the ropes with each taking turns going down, then up and over. Farat strikes with a low blow and draws a warning. Miller shakes it off and lays into Farat who begs for mercy. Miller isn't buying and drops one between the eyes. Wizul up on the apron complaining but quickly vacates as Miller charges in. Farat with a running knee to the back puts Miller to a knee. Farat with overhand shots before biting at Miller's forehead. Wizul as a distraction allows Farat to dig at Miller's forehead.
Somewhere in the exchange, Wizul is able to pass a pencil to his charge who uses it to gouge his opponent's forehead, opening him up. The damage done, Farat passes the weapon back to Wizal.
Farat with a running boot to the head of the downed Miller leads to a cover but only a two count as Miller powers out. Several closed fists and a battering of the bloody head into the top turnbuckle has Miller looking like he could go at any minute. Farat with a strike to the throat only adds fuel to the fire before Miller is drapped throat-first over the middle rope. Farat using his weight across the champ's back to strangle him is swiftly forced to break the hold. Warning for both Farat and Wizul.
Miller pulls himself to his feet before Farat turns back and starts firing away with shots. Miller with a block, then another fires back with his own. Ali Farat is staggered and Abu Wizal is beside himself back on the ring apron. Miller makes a beeline for Wizal who drops back to the floor and leaves ringside for half way to the back.
Miller with several chopping overhand rights staggers Farat before throwing himself back against the ropes. Using his forward momentum, Mike Miller with a running boot catches Sheik Ali Farat flush in the jaw.
Outside the ring, waving his arms frantically, Abu Wizal has called for his killers, Abuda Dein and Abuda Singh. Both men hit the ring and attack Miller. Two-on-one becomes three-on-one as Wizal directs his men, producing the pencil that busted open Miller in the first place.
Referee Bill Alfonso calls for the bell and the disqualification before being shoved away. The fans are screaming as Wizal is ready to put the pencil back into play ...
That is, until "a savior" hits the ring!
That man turns out to be ...
SCOTTY THE BODY!!!
Scotty grabs that pencil away from Wizal and snaps it in half. A right hand drops Abu Wizal! A right catches Ali Farat and puts him down! Another right puts down Abuda Singh! Abuda Dein drops to the canvas and rolls to the outside before grabbing Singh and pulling him to the outside where Abu Wizal and troops catch a breather. Scotty the Body motions for them to come back in but is saved by the bell as Steve Doll, Brady Boone, Mark Starr and Steven Dane run out from the back, sending Wizal and company to scurry in the opposite direction.
Don Coss: That's all for tonight. Tune in next week for more wrestling from the House of Action ... because you just never know what you're going to see! Good night!
