VTR: MEMPHIS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING OPENING
Memphis Championship wrestling opens with Dave Brown at ringside in the Channel 5 Studio. Dave welcome us to studio wrestling here on WMC-5 at 11pm on Saturday nights. Right here today, we will see the return for the Ugandan Giant, Kamala! He also announces that we’ll have big news about a special card coming up on Sunday, June 18 at the Big One here in Memphis.
DAVE BROWN: “We have some very exciting news about…”
The studio audience starts booing as Jamie Dundee once again makes his way into the studio, telling Dave Brown to hold up.
DAVE BROWN: “Jamie, we don’t have time for this again today. I’m trying to make…”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “Some announcements? You tryin’ get these fools out here excited because Lance Russell and Austin Idol are coming back here to Memphis? Who cares about that man?”
DAVE BROWN: “Oh come on, Jamie! Eddie Marlin was supposed to come out here and make those announcements!”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “No need, man. Nobody cares about old banana nose Russell and the Universal Moron no more, Dave. It’s a new day in Memphis Wrestling! It’s the day for the Stud Stable and you’re lookin’ at the brand new Tennessee Stud!”
DAVE BROWN: “Let me get this straight. You’ve crowned yourself the Tennessee Stud? What would the Fuller brothers have to stay about that?”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “They old, man. They ain’t studs no more! But I didn’t christen myself. Come on out here, man!”
The fans boo as Jimmy Golden makes his way out to the studio, along with Bill Dundee and Bull Pain.
JAMIE DUNDEE: “Jimmy, you tell ‘em, baby!”
JIMMY GOLDEN: “Dave, my dear cousins may have been Studs in their day, but they don’t have nothin’ on Jamie Dundee. Take it from me, Jamie is the one, true Tennessee Stud in professional rasslin’.”
BILL DUNDEE: “I’m so proud of my boy, Dave! The Superstar and the Tennessee Stud, that’s how it was supposed to be!”
DAVE BROWN: “I think we’ve heard about enough, Bill. Jamie, you’ve already caused enough trouble. It's time to go on your way!”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “Nah, man! You don’t tell us when we’re done. See, I got a real announcement that people care about. See next week, right here on Memphis Wrestling, I’m bringin’ back The King! The Keeeeeeeeeng will be here next week!”
DAVE BROWN: “What on earth are you talking about, Jamie? The King is…”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “... coming back next week! That’s exactly right! Now come on fellas, we got work to do!”
DAVE BROWN: “Well, thank heavens for that. Fans, we’ll have more on the returns of both Lance Russell and the Universal Heartthrob, Austin Idol, a bit later on. Right now, let’s go to the ring.”
HERE COMES JEFF JARRETT!
JEFF JARRETT VS. LOU WINSTON
Double J offers to shake Lou Winston’s hand before the match, but Winston refuses. Jarrett controls the pace here by keeping Winston grounded. The match comes to an end when Jeff Jarrett connects with the leaping DDT on Lou Winston and covers him for the victory. After the match, Jeff Jarrett walks around ringside shaking fans with the hands.
WINNER: JEFF JARRETT
Jeff Jarrett makes his way over to the announce desk where Dave Brown is standing by for an interview.
DAVE BROWN: “Quite a win, Jeff!”
JEFF JARRETT: “Thank you very much, Dave. As you know, I need all the ring-time I can get because I have a big match right here next week on Memphis Wrestling.”
DAVE BROWN: “Luckily, Jamie Dundee didn’t spoil this announcement. Fans, next week here on Memphis Wrestling, we’ll have a huge main event as Jeff here challenges the Southeastern Heavyweight Champion Tommy ‘Wildfire’ Rich!”
JEFF JARRETT: “Title matches like these don’t come along often, Dave. I’ve spent the last two years working my way up the ladder. I think I’m ready to become the Southeastern Champion, and it’s going to be an honor to step into the ring with a man like Tommy Rich. I have nothing but respect for Tommy. He’s already a legend at just 32 years of age.”
DAVE BROWN: “We’ll have Tommy here next week to preview the title match as well. Best of luck, Jeff! Now fans, as Jamie Dundee so rudely revealed earlier in the show, Austin Idol is on his way back to Memphis Wrestling. He will be live at the Big One here in Memphis next Sunday night. So, right now, let’s take a very special look at the Universal Heartthrob.”

Memphis Wrestling returns with Dave Brown at the announce desk with Eddie Marlin.
DAVE BROWN: “Welcome back, fans. Before we go to the ring, I’d like to take for a moment to share some exciting news with Eddie Marlin. Eddie, I know you have some big news.”
EDDIE MARLIN: “Yes I do, Dave. I think you know that we’ve been working on bringing Memphis Wrestling back for quite some time. One of the biggest ways that we were able to put this all together, was to reach an agreement with our neighbours at Power Pro Wrestling. We have a friendly agreement with Power Pro, and I’m excited to announce that the PPW Champions will be visiting us here in Memphis from time to time!”
DAVE BROWN: “That’s very exciting, indeed. I understand that this agreement with Power Pro Wrestling also involves the return of a familiar face here to Memphis Wrestling.”
EDDIE MARLIN: “My good friend and yours Lance Russell is currently working with Power Pro Wrestling. Lance is very busy, Dave, but I’m happy to announce that he’ll be here with us next week to call the action just like the old days. Lance plans on stop by pretty regularly, which I know is great news for the fans, myself and you Dave.”
DAVE BROWN: “I’m very excited about this partnership with PPW, and especially to be working with Lance again. We’re looking forward to seeing you here next week, Lance! Right now, let’s go back to the ring.”
The excited mood shifts when tribal drums can be heard in the Channel 5 Studio, which can only mean one thing!
IT’S KAMALA… AND BY HIS SIDE IS SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK!
KAMALA w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink VS. JERRY BRYANT
The fans are in awe as the massive Kamala wanders around the studio with his spear in hand. Sir Oliver finally pulls off the tribal mask, and Kamala charges across the ring and splashes Bryant in the corner. The Ugandan Giant picks Bryant up and slams him! Kamala hits the ropes for the big splash across the back. He stays on top, but the referee can’t count since Bryant is face-down on the mat. Sir Oliver is shouting at Kamala, and finally the big man turns Jerry Bryant over and gets the academic three count.
WINNER: KAMALA
Sir Oliver Humperdink brings Kamala over to the desk, where an unnerved Dave Brown cautiously approaches.
DAVE BROWN: “This man, Sir Oliver Humperdink, certainly has a reputation as one of the great wrestling managers.”
SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK: “Dave Brown, the people know who I am! I’d like to thank Don Fargo for looking after my investment last week, but I’ve arrived. The House of Humperdink has come to Memphis Wrestling!”
DAVE BROWN: “Now, hold on. Don Fargo was in the corner of Jos LeDuc last week, are you telling me that you also represent LeDuc?”
SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK: “You catch on quick, Dave Brown. My good friend Jimmy Hart warned me about you, but maybe you are smarter than you look. I can make a promise now to the people of Memphis and the Southeastern Champion Tommy Rich, whether it’s Jos LeDuc, the Ugandan Giant Kamala or another client I’ll be introducing to you later, the Southeastern Heavyweight will soon be in possession of the House of Humperdink!”
DAVE BROWN: “Quite a warning there. We’ll speak with Tommy Rich later. As for now, we’ll be right back.”

Memphis Wrestling returns with Adrian Street joining Dave Brown at ringside.
DAVE BROWN: “Welcome back, fans. Adrian Street joins me now. Adrian, I’m told you have a message from one P.Y. Chu Hi!”
ADRIAN STREET: “David, I’d like to know who this Chu Hi thinks he is attacking me in the battle royal last week? Now, I like theatrics as much as anyone, dear boy, but this Chu Hi makes me laugh. He knows about as much karate as the pipsqueak who manages him, Tojo Yamamoto, and that’s not much! I think we all know he’s hiding something, David!”
DAVE BROWN: “Well, yes. But it’s obvious isn’t it?”
ADRIAN STREET: “So then, David, why do you call him Chu Hi? A little paint and a pair of red karate pants don’t change the fact that he’s just Flabby Phil Hickerson from Jackson, Tennessee! Am I right?”
DAVE BROWN: “You’re not wrong Adrian!”
There’s a rumbling now as an angry P.Y. Chu Hi and Tojo Yamamoto make their way into the studio.
DAVE BROWN: “Now Phil, we don’t want any trouble out here.”
P.Y. CHU HI: “Button it, weather clown! Mah name is P.Y. Chu Hi, and don't you forget it! I wanna know - who do you think you are, Street?”
ADRIAN STREET: “Why I’m the exoctic one Adrian Street from the Royal Forest of Dean. Just like your Flabby Phil Hickerson from Jackson, Tennesse!”
P.Y. CHU HI: “You shut yer stinkin’ mouth! If you wanna be a painted freak, I can be P.Y. Chu Hi! I’m a karate master, man! Watch this!”
P.Y. Chu Hi strikes a goofy karate pose as Tojo Yamamoto applauds. Adrian Street just shrugs… and then decks P.Y. Chu Hi! These two are now brawling all over the studio. It takes most of the locker-room and several minutes to calm them down. Once things calm down, we go back to the ring.
HERE COME TOMMY AND BOBBY - THE FANTASTICS!
THE FANTASTICS VS. MR. CLYDE AND KEITH ERIC
Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton shake hands around ringside as ‘Gimme All Your Lovin' by ZZ Top plays in the Channel 5 Studio. Once the match begins, Fulton and Rogers use their fast-paced offense to dominate their capable opponents. In the end, Bobby Fulton connects with the Rocket Launcher after being propelled off the top rope by Tommy Rogers down onto Mr. Clyde. Fulton covers for the three count!
WINNERS: THE FANTASTICS
After the match, Jamie and Bill Dundee are back out at the studio and look none-too-pleased.
DAVE BROWN: “Jamie, Bill, we don’t have time for this!”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “You’re gonna make time, man! What me and my dad wanna know is why these fools in the crowd go crazy for these two pretty boys! They ain’t tough! We tough, man! They ain’t tough.”
This brings Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton over to the desk where Jamie Dundee and Bill Dundee back up just a step or two.
BOBBY FULTON: “Hey Dundee, you got a problem with us? We’ll step into that ring with you and your dad any time you want!”
BILL DUNDEE: “Calm down there tough guys. The truth is that the Superstar could take both of you myself. I’ve whooped you both before individually! But my boy ain’t a rassler, and he’s got nothin’ to prove against you.”
TOMMY ROGERS: “It sounds like your old man doesn’t think you’re tough enough to hang with us, Mr. Tennessee Stud!”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “You’re on, punks! You want me to whoop your butts, we’ll do it! I may not be a rassler, but I’m tougher than you two fools!”
BILL DUNDEE: “Jamie, what are…”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “Don’t worry none, pops! Like you said, you can beat these two by yourself. With me in your corner, we can whoop ‘em both for sure!”
BILL DUNDEE: "No, I said I've whooped 'em both individually..."
TOMMY ROGERS: “Eddie Marlin, sign the match! And Jamie Dundee, we’re going to give you a rude awakening when you step into that ring!”
DAVE BROWN: “I’m sure Eddie Marlin will make it happen. We’ll be right back!”
The camera fades out as Bill Dundee tries to talk sense to his son Jamie, to no avail.

Memphis Wrestling returns with Jamie Dundee still joining Dave Brown at the desk, this time flanked by Bull Pain.
DAVE BROWN: “For the record, this is the only segment you were actually scheduled for Jamie!”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “I’ll come out here whenever I want, especially after I whoop those Fantastics! Don’t forget Dave, I’m bringing the Keeeeng back to Memphis Wrestling next week.”
DAVE BROWN: “I highly doubt that. But I actually have a question for this man with you, Bull Pain. Last week, we all saw the Dirty White Boy go straight for you in the battle royal. What exactly is the connection between you two?”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “I’ll handle this one, man! It’s real simple, Dave Brown. The White Boy is just jealous because his old lady, Mystic, split for a real man. And that man is Bull Pain! Lady Mystic finally ditched the zero and got with the hero!”
DAVE BROWN: “Wait a second…”
JAMIE DUNDEE: “What’s so hard to believe, Dave? Who wants a fat, balding hillbilly when they can get with 270 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal like Bull Pain!”
There’s a pop in the crowd now as the Dirty White Boy storms into the ring. Bull Pain is ready to go, but Jamie Dundee pulls him away as Dirty White Boy approaches. The two bullies stare each other down, until Dundee pulls Bull Pain away.
DAVE BROWN: “Dirty White Boy, what exactly was Jamie Dundee talking about? Is there really trouble between yourself and the Dirty White Girl?”
DIRTY WHITE BOY: “Dundee, don’t bring mah personal business into this! You hear me boy?! You got enough problems with the Fantastics, you don’t want none of me, boy! As for you Bull Pain, you ain’t nothin’ but a punk and you got a beating coming to you. That’s all ah got to say, Dave!”
The Dirty White Boy storms off as Dave Brown sends us back up to the ring for our final match.
‘MISSOURI TIGER’ JEFF GAYLORD w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink VS. JOHN PAUL
The very muscular Jeff Gaylord flexes before the bell. He wants a test of strength with John Paul, which he very easily wins. Gaylord is clearly extremely powerful and he viciously pounds on John Paul. Gaylord press slams his opponent, but pulls him at just two during a pin. Then, Gaylord connects with a leaping elbow drop but again pulls John Paul up. Finally, Gaylord pins John Paul after connecting with the hangman’s neckbreaker. Sir Oliver Humperdink raises Jeff Gaylord’s arm in the air after the bell.
WINNER: ‘MISSOURI TIGER’ JEFF GAYLORD.
After the match, Southeastern Heavyweight Champion Tommy ‘Wildfire’ Rich to the studio
DAVE BROWN: “First of all Tommy, I’d like to congratulate you on winning the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship last week.”
TOMMY RICH: “Somebody say somethin’ about a new Southeastern Champion, Dave Brown? I think they did! I think they did, Dave!”
DAVE BROWN: “Yes they certainly did. Tommy, it’s great to see you back here in Memphis!”
TOMMY RICH: “Always good to be back in Mempho, Davey. I got mah start here, it’s a second home to me, man. And here ah am again, the Southeastern Heavyweight Champion. Wildfire is runnin’ wilder than ever, man!”
DAVE BROWN: “Tommy, next week, you have a title match against the very promising up-and-comer Jeff Jarrett. There’s clearly no rest for the weary.”
TOMMY RICH: “No there ain’t, Davey, but that’s okay with ol’ Wildfire. Jeffrey Jarrett, he’s impressive man, and he’s got all it takes to become the World Champion someday. But ol’ Wildfire ain’t no slouch neither and I’m ready for him, Davey!”
DAVE BROWN: “We’ll see this exciting match next week. Just one more topic of note, Tommy. Last week, you were jumped by Jos LeDuc. Now we see that LeDuc is aligned with Kamala and the Missouri Tiger and they all have their eyes on the Southeastern Heavyweight Title!”
TOMMY RICH: “That Missouri Tiger, it looks like his head might pop off when he flexes, don't it? I say bring ‘em on, Dave Brown. I ain’t never been afraid of a fight so line ‘em up for ol’ Wildfire!”
DAVE BROWN: “Fans, we’re out of time. Thanks for joining me Tommy, and we’re excited to see you face Jeff Jarrett right here next week. Plus, the return of Lance Russell and we’re told Jamie Dundee is bringing back ‘The King’. We’ll see you then!”
