McMahon, “Welcome to Cedar Rapids, IA, and ‘Superstars’! Jesse, you said Hulk Hogan wouldn’t show up today, but he’s here! Hulk Hogan will be in the ‘Snake Pit’!
Ventura, “Yea, he’s here, but he’s here to announce his retirement!”
McMahon, “I don’t think so Jesse! We also have a great tag team feature match, the Can-Am Express takes on the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers. Let’s go the ring.”
Match #1
Magnificent Muraco w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. Calypso Jim
The happy man from Jamaica looks confident. The veteran Muraco goes to work. He is aggressive, and physical. Jim fights back, but cannot make any progress. Muraco hits the Hawai’ian hammer for the win.

Billy Jack Haynes vs. Jerry Allen
Two powerful youngsters meet here. Billy Jack grabs a headlock, and works over Allen. Jerry fights back, and looks good for a time. Haynes takes over, and wins with the full Nelson.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund is seated at the “Red, White, and Boom” control center.
Okerlund, “Fans, July 4 is fast approaching, and that means ‘Red, White, and Boom!’. The Philadelphia Spectrum will be the place, the birthplace of America. The event will air, at 8:00 PM, on the USA Network. We know of two matches so far, the Intercontinental Championship will be up for grabs as ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude challenges the Ultimate Warrior. We will also see the great Japanese tag team, Jumbo Tsuruta, and Yoshiaki Yatsu in action, and speaking of Tag Team matches, listen to this! The pride of America will be up for grabs, Slick will send, his Russian team, the Bolsheviks into the ring to face the team of, the WWF Champion, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, and ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper! Can these two put their differences aside, to defend America? Let’s hear from the Champion.”
We see Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth.
Savage, “July 4, Ohhhhh Yeaaaaa! America’s Birthday, yes it is! The ‘Macho Man’ is a proud American, so is Elizabeth! Now you team me up with Roddy Piper, he’s from Scotland, not America, no he’s not! I can work with him, can he work with me? Don’t know!
Okerlund, “Will this team be on the same page? We’ll find out on July 4!”
Match #3
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper vs. The Red Demon
We know that Piper will team with the Macho Man on July 4. Who knows if they can coexist. The masked man jumps Piper before the bell. That was a mistake. Piper fights his way out of the corner, and he is in control. Roddy slaps on the sleeper and it’s over.

“Ravishing” Rick Rude w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. S.D. Jones
Rude is very arrogant, and the and are firmly behind Jones. S,D. Looks good early. Heenan shouts instructions to Rude, and insults at S.D. Rude begins to take over. He uses his strength to take over, and he wins with the Rude awakening.
Winner-Rick Rude
We see the “Snake Pit” set.
Jake “The Snake” Roberts walks onto the set.
Roberts, “Welcome to the ‘Snake Pit’. Last week, Jesse Ventura read a letter, supposedly, written by Hulk Hogan, and it implied that Hogan wanted to become a full time actor. Ventura thinks Hulk wants to leave wrestling. Jesse talks a lot, but I’m a man of action. I don’t talk about Hulk Hogan, I talk to Hulk Hogan.”
Hulk Hogan walks onto the ‘Snake Pit”. The crowd explodes.
Roberts, “Hulk Hogan, I told the people I’d get to the bottom of things. I’m not going to beat around the bush, I’ll get right to the point. Do you want to retire f I'm wrestling? Do you want to go to Hollywood?”
Hogan doesn’t speak. He stares at Jake and then looks to the audience.
Hogan, “Jake Roberts, let me tell you something! I’ve never lied to the fans, I won’t start now! I have talked to agents, producers, and executives in Hollywood!”
The crowd gasps.
Roberts, “So you called them?”
Hogan, “NO! They called me! They asked me to think about acting, that letter was a follow up. Jesse doesn’t know about the phone call.. They asked me if I wanted to try acting!”
Roberts, “What did you say?”
Hogan, “I said ...YES! When I retire, a long, long, time from now!”
Roberts, “But you haven’t wrestled since ‘Saturday Night’s Main Event’!”
Hogan, “I was healing up, but I’m coming back!”
Roberts, “When?”
Hogan, “NEXT WEEK, ON ‘SUPERSTARS’! I’m going to be here, and I’m wrestling Virgil! And what’s he gonna’ do, when Hulkamania runs wild over him!”
Roberts, “There you go, the ‘Hulkster’ is back!”
Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura are in the announce position.
McMahon, “Ha! I knew you were a liar Jesse! Hulk Hogan is back!”
Ventura, “I’m not the liar! Hogan was turned down by everyone in Hollywood, he tried, but no one wanted him!”
McMahon, “Jesse, you’re impossible!”
Match #5
Pete Doherty vs. Brutus Beefcake
Beefcake struts around, and “The Duke” runs his mouth. The bell rings and Beefcake goes to work. Brutus is sharp. Doherty has some success by using all his illegal tactics. He chokes away, and Brutus is in some trouble. Beefcake mounts a comeback. He takes over and locks Doherty in the sleeper. “The Duke” is out. Beefcake takes his scissors and clips some hair.

Match #6
The Can-Am Connection vs. The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers w/Frenchy Martin
This will be a great one Earl Hebner will be your referee. Frenchy Martin takes the mic.
Martin, “Rick Martel, you are a great French Canadien wrestler! What are you doing with a cowardly American? Come join us and represent Quebec, and Canada!”
Martel shakes his head no, and the bell rings. Martel and Raymond open the contest. Both men are very skilled, and they go back and forth. Both men get nearfalls, and the crowd are on the edge of their seats. Martel goes for a sunset flip, but Rougeau kicks out. He tags in Jacques. Now the younger Rougeau tries his hand. Zenk tags in, and the popular American tries his hand. The action continues, and it is fast and furious. Eventually, all four men end up in the ring. Hebner cannot control the action, and calls for the bell. He disqualifies both teams. These teams have to meet again.
Result-Double Count Out
Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura close the show.
McMahon, “What a show! We proved Jesse Ventura wrong!”
Ventura, “McMahon, I’m getting real tired of your mouth! Of course, you believe Hogan, but I’m going to make you a promise. Hulk Hogan’s career will end at some point this summer, mark my words!”
McMahon, “Keep trying Jesse. Let’s talk about next week. We know that “The Macho Man”, and Roddy Piper will team up at ‘Red, White, and Boom’, and they will both be in the ‘Snake Pit’ next week! And Hulk Hogan returns to the ring!”
