VTR: LAST WEEK
Power Pro Wrestling returns with PPW Heavyweight Champion Terry Gordy joining Gordon Solie for our final moments.
GORDON SOLIE: “Welcome back to Power Pro Wrestlings. As you may recall, Dick Slater issued a challenge to this man, Terry Gordy, for the PPW Heavyweight Championship last week. We certainly wanted to give Mr. Gordy a chance to respond.”
TERRY GORDY: “Thank you very, Mr. Solie. You know somethin’ Mr. Solie, you’ve watched me for a long time, man. You seen me grow up from a loud-mouthed punk kid into the man I am today. Here I am, the PPW Heavyweight Champion and the #1 contender to the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair. A lot’s changed in mah life, man. But I think you can tell these people that, whether it was then or now, Terry Gordy ain’t never turned down a fight!”
GORDON SOLIE: “I will indeed concur with that statement.”
TERRY GORDY: “Exactly right! Now Dickie Slater, Dirty Dick, Mr. Unpredictable, whatever you wanna call yerself, you challenged me to a fight last week. Dickie, I’m here tah tell ya, if you want a fight, boy, you got yerself a fight! You bring that dinky little manager of yours to the Clash of the Titans, and we’ll see if you’re as good as you say you are, man. In fact, you show up here next week and I’ll sign the contract in fronnah ya!”
GORDON SOLIE: “There you have, it! I’m sure Mr. Ken Mantell will draw up the contract for next week here on Power Pro Wrestling. I’m afraid we’re out of time here on Power Pro Wrestling. For Freddie Miller, this is Gordon Solie saying, the Prairie State.”

VTR: WELCOME TO POWER PRO WRESTLING
Henry Crown Fieldhouse - Chicago, IL
This week’s episode of Power Pro Wrestling opened up with ‘The Dean of Professional Wrestling’ Gordon Solie standing at the podium.
GORDON SOLIE: “Hello and welcome to Power Pro Wrestling, I’m Gordon Solie. There is quite a lineup awaiting you here on Power Pro Wrestling tonight. We will meet the man who is heading up the expansion of Power Pro Wrestling, and meet more of the major superstars who he has signed. ‘Hacksaw’ Butch Reed will also be moving out towards the ring against the Zambuiee Express, Mr. Kareem Muhammad. We’ll also have an interview with Shane Douglas, who will hopefully shed some light on the condition of one Lord Humongous.
“However, we begin tonight with events that occurred after Power Pro Wrestling went off the air last week. As you saw at the top of this hour, Terry Gordy joined me to accept the challenge of Dick Slater for a PPW Heavyweight Title match at the Clash of the Titans. What you didn’t see was a series of disturbing events involving the Dangerous Alliance. Let’s take a look.”
VTR: LAST WEEK
GORDON SOLIE: “Thank you very much Terry.”
TERRY GORDY: “Mah pleasure, Mr. Solie…”
“Hey, you big dummy,” someone screams from off camera. The camera pans over to see Dick Slater backed up by Paul E. Dangerous and Dark Journey from the aisle.
TERRY GORDY: “You wanna go, Slater?! Bring it on - BOOOMPH!”
From behind, Hercules Hernandez drills Terry Gordy across the back of the head with his chain. Hercules now wraps the chain around Gordy’s neck and is choking the life out of the PPW Heavyweight Champion.
Now, Dick Slater arrives to stomp on Gordy’s head and now he looks down to see the PPW Heavyweight Title. Slater grabs the title and he absconds with it, with Hercules following him! The boos are overwhelming as Butch Reed and several wrestlers arrive at the interview area to tend to the fallen Gordy..

Power Pro Wrestling returns to live action with none other than ‘Cowboy’ Bill Watts standing by with Gordon Solie at the podium
GORDON SOLIE: “A truly disturbing turn of events. As you saw, Dick Slater now has possession of the PPW Heavyweight Title and as now, he has not returned that championship title. At this time, allow me to introduce you to a man that I’ve speaking about in recent weeks. He’s a man who needs no introduction. What I can tell you is that this man, Cowboy Bill Watts, will be heading up the expansion of Power Pro Wrestling. Mr. Watts, welcome to Power Pro Wrestling!”
COWBOY BILL WATTS: “Gordon, it’s a pleasure to be here - although I do wish it was under different circumstances tonight.”
GORDON SOLIE: “Indeed. In addition to negotiating new television contracts all over the Southeast, the Mid-South and the Midwest as well as signing some of the biggest names in the sport, you’ve had to deal with this situation where Dick Slater has stolen the PPW Heavyweight Championship.”
COWBOY BILL WATTS: “Exactly right. You know, for someone I thought Dick Slater had more integrity than to become a petty thief, but I think that little pipsqueak he hangs around has encouraged all of his bad habits. Make no mistake, I will not allow Slater to walk into Clash of the Titans and get a title shot without returning this stolen property. I’ve made this clear to Slater and Dangerously throughout this week: I better have that belt in my hands before the bell rings, Slater, or I will suspend you from Power Pro Wrestling and give your shot to another deserving contender.”
GORDON SOLIE: “Thank you very much, Mr. Watts. At this time, let’s take a special look at one of the great superstars you’ve signed for the expansion of Power Pro Wrestling. Would you like to introduce this piece of video take?”
COWBOY BILL WATTS: “You referred to me as a man who needs no introduction. Well, we introduced this man to you fans last week although he certainly needs no introduction. Here’s a look at one of the notorious periods in professional wrestling when comedian Andy Kaufman stepped into the Memphis Mid-South Coliseum against… Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler!”

WILDCAT WENDELL COOLEY VS. ‘THE PROFESSOR’ BILL ASH
Gordon Solie to the fans watching that Bill Ash has held the Southeastern Jr. Heavyweight Title more than any other professional wrestler. His opponent tonight is one of the rising stars in professional wrestling Wendell Cooley, who makes his way down to the ring to ‘If Heaven Ain't a Lot Like Dixie’ by Hank Williams Jr. Ash does his fair share of stalling until finally locking up. Ash then immediately backs off and claims Cooley grabbed his hair, driving a frustrated Wildcat to deck him. Cooley keeps control and eventually puts Ash for the count with the super kick. What an impressive debut for this youngster!
WINNER: WILDCAT WENDELL COOLEY

Power Pro Wrestling returns with a distraught PPW TV Champion Shane Douglas standing by with Gordon Solie. Solie sends us to footage from last week:
VTR: LAST WEEK
The masked man, Nord and Kendo Nagasaki are ready as Ronnie P. Gossett scurries across the other side of the ring as Humongous barrels into the ring! Kendo charges first and eats a big boot. Now, the masked tries to jump Humongous from the side and gets swatted away. The fans are electric as Nord and Lord Humongous stand face-to-face. This is the showdown fans have been waiting to see! No, Humongous is grabbed from behind and he turns around right into…
THE GREEN MIST TO THE EYES FROM KENDO NAGASAKI!
Lord Humongous is stumbling around, unable to see! He’s swinging wildly but Nagasaki ducks and then sprays Humongous’ eyes a second time, this time with the red mist! Humongous can’t see, which allows Nord to hit the ropes with a head of steam with a running boot to the head! Down goes Humongous! Nord hits the ropes again, flies in the air and connects with the big knee drop across the chest!
Now, Nord pulls the big man up, hoists him into the air as the masked man dives off the top ropes for a spike pile-driver! These monsters have just laid out Humongous! Finally, Ron Simmons, Mr. Wrestling II, Doug Furnas and others hit the ring and run them off. Simmons and Furnas try to help Humongous but he can’t see at all and he’s swinging elbows left and right. Humongous is able to roll out to the floor and zig-zags up the aisle, falling to one knee on several occasions. In the ring, the wrestlers help Shane Douglas to his knees and sees Lord Humongous stumbling towards the curtain. Douglas rolls out of the ring and sprints after Humongous!
END VTR
GORDON SOLIE: “Yet another disgusting turn of events taking place last week. Mr. Douglas, I know it’s been a very difficult week. Can you give us an update on the condition of one Lord Humongous?”
SHANE DOUGLAS: “I wish I could, Mr. Solie. Believe me, I wish I could. I’ve tried all week to get in touch with him, but nobody’s seen him. Nobody’s heard from him. I don’t know where Danny is or what condition he is in.”
GORDON SOLIE: “Pardon me, Shane. You mentioned the name ‘Danny’, is this the true name of Lord Humongous?”
SHANE DOUGLAS: “I never intended to get into this on the air, but I don’t have any choice now. You know, sometimes my childhood was tough. My father was a great man, he was a hard-worker, a good father, but our family went through hard times. There were times after my mom passed that my dad could barely keep food on the table. But as bad as it was, things were worse for my childhood best friend Danny.
“He was an orphan. He bounced around from foster home to foster home, but never stayed in one place to long. When I was about 10, he stayed with the family next door. And we became best friends. We did everything together. And then came the day he was kicked out of the house. See, Danny was used to fighting for everything he had because that’s what he’d known all his life. My father tried foster him into our home, but the agency turned us down because my dad was struggling to feed his three kids as it was. So Danny was taken away, and gradually we lost touch.
“It wasn’t until I got into wrestling when I saw this beast Lord Humongous tearing it up across the country. He was all rage, all fury, seemingly not very human. But I looked into his eyes and I knew it was Danny. Just as my path made me the man I am today, Danny relied only on the rage that was bred into him. Underneath that rage is the good-hearted kid I knew. He’s my friend, he’ll always be my friend. I just hope he’s okay, Mr. Solie.”
GORDON SOLIE: “My goodness, what a poignant story. Shane, where do you go from here?”
SHANE DOUGLAS: “I spoke with Bill Watts earlier and I asked him to sign a match for Clash of the Titans against Kendo Nagasaki, Nord the Barbarian and ‘Maniac’ Matt Borne. I don’t have any partners, but I want all three of these men in the ring! Some people have told me it’s suicide and it may well be, but if I go down, I’ll go down fighting for my best friend!”
GORDON SOLIE: “I for one hope that you reconsider going into this match alone. Shane Douglas, thank you for your comments today. I wish you the best in finding your old friend!”

‘THE KING OF WRESTLING’ HARLEY RACE VS. ROBERTO SOTO
The popular Roberto Soto remains a major star in his native Puerto Rico, and recently gave NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair a tough challenge in Bayamon. Here he faces a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion and puts up a nice showing. Soto is able to keep Race off his game in the early going and connects with a cross-body block for a two count. When he goes for a second one, Race ducks in. Roberto collides into the canvas, allowing Race to connect with two of his patented knee drops across the back of the neck. Race then plants Soto into the canvas with a pile-driver and scores the three count.
WINNER: ‘THE KING OF WRESTLING’ HARLEY RACE

GORDON SOLIE: “Right now, let’s take a look at another great superstar who Cowboy Bill Watts has signed for Power Pro Wrestling. First, we’ll take a look at a special video package and then we’ll have comments from this man. He is the one, the only… Bill ‘Superstar’ Dundee!”
VTR:
BILL DUNDEE: “Well hello there, Power Pro Wrestling. It’s the Superstar coming your way as only he can look. You know somethin’, Bill Watts called up the Superstar a few weeks back and begged me to sign on with Power Pro Wrestling. Watts told me how he needed the Superstar, how he couldn’t get this territory off the ground without the Superstar. So why is that it that he gave the spotlight to Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler last week? Now don’t get me wrong, nobody knows more than the Superstar how tough Jerry Lawler is. We’ve gone around the block a time or two, as partners and opponents. And yeah, Kingfish has given the Superstar a beating or two. But you gotta admit Kingfish, nobody has whooped YOU more beatings than the Superstar! And nobody has beat the King as many times as the Superstar. So if PPW wants to snub the Superstar, maybe the Superstar just needs to prove one more time who’s the better man. So Kingfish, how about me and you go head-to-head again. I know you’re comin’ to the Clash of the Titans. I’ll be there too. So how about it, Lawler? Are you man enough to let the Superstar embarrass you one more time?”

Power Pro Wrestling returns with Gordon Solie welcoming Mr. Wrestling II and his latest protege ‘All-American’ Ron Simmons to the podium.
GORDON SOLIE: “Mr. Wrestling II, I have known you for many a year - long enough to remember when you were the protege to the original Mr. Wrestling. In recent years, we’ve seen you lead the likes of Tommy ‘Wildfire’ Rich and Magnum TA to incredible success. I imagine you have equally as high hopes for this man, Ron Simmons.”
MR. WRESTLING II: “First of all, it’s nice to see you again Gordon. You’re correct, I’m very proud of the success that my former proteges have had. Tommy was the NWA World Heavyweight Champion and certainly that’s a title Magnum TA would have achieved as well if not for his accident. However, I believe that Ron Simmons has even more natural ability than those two great stars and is possibly the most gifted all around athlete in the history of professional wrestling. There is no doubt in my mind that Ron will be the NWA World Champion someday!”
GORDON SOLIE: “Mr. Simmons, certainly some high praise there for one of the true legends in the sport of professional wrestling.”
RON SIMMONS: “I’m honoured that Mr. Wrestling II would say that about me. I’ve made a commitment to him. I’ll put everything I have into his training regiment, mastering his strategies and listening to his advice. As long as I do that…”
There is an interruption here as The Assassin and his partner the Super Assassin arrive on the set.
GORDON SOLIE: “Gentlemen, this is not your time…”
THE ASSASSIN: “Gordon Solie, you’ve known for a long time. Have I ever struck you as a man who demures from making a statement any time I want to? I think not. Now, as for Mr. Wrestling II, this is an old fossil who has been riding my coattails for years because he knows that I, not him or any other man, am the greatest masked wrestler in the sport. As for this young punk, I can assure you that he does not have even a tenth of the natural ability of my own protege the Super Assassin!”
MR. WRESTLING II: “It’s always the same story with you, Assassin. You run that mouth of yours, and you run it, and you run it! And yet, I saw you lose in the middle of the ring last week!”
THE ASSASSIN: “Why you!? What happened last week is a travesty, but I guarantee you that I would be raising my partner the Super Assassin’s hand in victory if he ever battled your man. In fact, how about we test that theory by putting your protege against mine at the Clash of the Titans?”
MR. WRESTLING: “You’re on, Assassin. But don’t be surprised if Ron rips off your Super Assassin’s mask. And i just might rip yours off too!”
THE ASSASSIN: “Don’t even think about, old man!”
GORDON SOLIE: “There you have it, fans! What a blockbuster contest it will be when Ron Simmons squares off with the Super Assassin! Right now, let’s go up to Freddie Miller in the ring.”

THE ASSASSIN AND THE SUPER ASSASSIN VS. MIKE JACKSON AND JACK VICTORY
Gordon Solie recaps his long history with The Assassins and remembers some of his dastardly deeds against the likes of Dusty Rhodes, ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong and, of course, Mr. Wrestling II. He and his latest protege show tremendous teamwork as they isolate Jackson in their corner. Super Assassin seems to have the win with a running shoulder-breaker and then a power-slam, but breaks his own count twice. As he pulls the referee closer, The Assassin can be seeing slipping something into his mask. Super Assassin then tags in his mentor, with The Assassin drilling Mike Jackson with a headbutt and then pinning for the victory.
WINNER: THE ASSASSIN & THE SUPER ASSASSINS

Power Pro Wrestling moves over to the podium where Paul E. Dangerously and Dark Journey flank Dick Slater, although the PPW Heavyweight Title is nowhere to be found!
GORDON SOLIE: “Mr. Slater, you heard Cowboy Bill Watts earlier. He said you’d be stripped of your title match if he doesn’t have the PPW Heavyweight Title in his hands before bell time at Clash of the Titans.”
DICK SLATER: “I’d like to see Watts try to take anything away for me! Now, I’ll play nice, I’ll let him borrow my PPW Heavyweight Title before the match starts but I’m not handing it over until I absolutely have to do so! I don’t want a thief in the night like Terry Gordy stealing my property!”
GORDON SOLIE: “I beg to differ, sir. You have no legitimate claim to that title! It rightfully belongs to one Terry Gordy!”
DICK SLATER: “Don’t kid yourself, Solie! I told the people I would go into the Bruiser Bedlam, throw 19 other wrestlers over the top rope and that’s what I did! I also told the people I’d defeat Terry Gordy one-two-three in the ring and that’s what’s happening at Clash of the Titans! That’s the future and you can’t fight the future. Ain’t that right, Journey?”
DARK JOURNEY: “Of course it is, Dickie! Gordy, you may be a very impressive boy but Dickie is the most impressive man! The belt is his property!”
PAUL E. DANGEROUSLY: “That’s exactly right! Now as far as Bill Watts goes, you aren’t going to boss around the Dangerous Alliance, Watts! We do what we want, when we want and however we want to do it! Just ask Terry Gordy if you don’t believe us! You relay that message, Solie!”
GORDON SOLIE: “I suspect that you might be in over your head, Mr. Dangerously!”

TV MAIN EVENT: MR. KAREEM MUHAMMAD VS. ‘HACKSAW’ BUTCH REED
Hacksaw Reed manages to fluster the larger Kareem Muhammad with a series of forearms and right hands, but the Mr. Muhammad manages to connect with a slap to Hacksaw Reed’s face as he gets up and the crowd boos. Kareem Muhammad takes the control and works over the neck and back of Hacksaw Reed for several minutes and almost gets the pin after slamming Butch head first into the ring post. Late in the contest, Hacksaw Reed rallies back and plants Kareem Muhammad with a shoulder-block and covers the man, making sure to hook the Mr. Muhammad’s right leg. However, Kareem is able to kick out of the pin and rallies back and nails a series of big right hands to keep the momentum. Hacksaw Reed keeps coming at Kareem Muhammad and even tries for a cross-body block in the final moments of the match, but the Mr. Muhammad catches him and drives him into the canvas with a big powerslam. Reed slowly staggers back to his feet, barely able to walk because of the loss of blood. He walks right a right hand knocking him back into the corner. Muhammad charges with a big splash, but Reed dives out of the way. Muhammad knocked the wind out of himself and staggers as Reed climbs up top and connects with the flying shoulder-block. Reed stays on top for the one-two-three!
WINNER: ‘HACKSAW’ BUTCH REED
Referee Tommy Gilbert raises Hacksaw Reed’s arm in victory and he asks for a microphone here.
HACKSAW BUTCH REED: “Hold 'em up, hold 'em up! I heard Dick Slater out here earlier trying to make excuses for being a thievin’ punk. Now, I know Bill Watts is worried about what Slater got planned next. But I got a solution, Watts. See, I ain’t even gonna break a sweat whoopin’ Hercules. So how about I come back out for the main event at Clash of the Titans with my own referee’s shirt. I’ll stand outside the ring as a special referee and I’ll make sure there ain’t no funny business! What about it, Watts?”
The fans are cheering as Hacksaw Reed flexes, but it’s not Bill Watts who arrives on the scene. Making their way down to ringside now are Dick Slater and Hercules Hernandez, with Paul E. Dangerously and Dark Journey in toe. Reed is motioning for the Dangerous Alliance to bring it on. However, Slater walks around the ring and jumps onto the apron. Hercules jumps up onto the other side. Reed has no clue which one will strike first. Hold on, running down to the ring is…
IT’S ‘THE WORLD’S STRONGEST MAN’ DOUG FURNAS!
Doug Furnas slides into the ring and goes back-to-back with Hacksaw Reed. Hercules and Slater both look ready to jump, but then they drop down to the apron! Paul E. Dangerously and Dark Journey leads Hercules and Dick Slater away from the ringside area while Doug Furnas and Hacksaw Reed motion for them to bring it on!
