The Black Ninja applies his nerve hold and really works over Douglas for the next few minutes. Luckily, Shane Douglas finally gets his foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. 6) United States Heavyweight Championship - Terry ‘Bamm Bamm’ Gordy vs. Don Muraco: There has been tremendous worry about Bamm Bamm Gordy’s condition ever since he was taken down with a reverse pile-driver on Power Pro Wrestling last night. However, Gordy storms down to the ring tonight wearing a neck collar. Muraco is chuckling at Gordy, and then the US Champion whips off the collar. Bamm Bamm Gordy steps up and motions for Muraco to bring it own. Magnificent Muraco saunters over and shoves Gordy. Terry Gordy fires back with a series of rights and lefts and then sends Muraco off the ropes and then connects with a big back drop that has Don grasping at his lower back in agony. Gordy is all over Muraco and is pounding away at the Magnificent One, but Muraco somehow is able to turn him over and begins pounding away on Terry Gordy. Muraco gets to his feet and kicks Terry Gordy in the knee and the sends him into the corner, where he lands some vicious chops onto Gordy’s chest. Terry Gordy is right back on him and he sends Muraco flying backwards into the mat with a vertical suplex. Bamm Bamm Gordy goes for the cover, but Don Muraco once again kicks out at the last possible second! It’s clear that Gordy is frustrated, but now he waves his right arm in the air, signaling for the end. The crowd goes wild as Terry Gordy locks Don Muraco in his signature submission hold the Asian Spike and really wrenches back on it, but Muraco is refusing to submit! Terry Gordy applies more pressure and leans on the hold more and it looks as if Muraco may be seconds away from submitting here! In what had to be a desperation move, Muraco rears back and connects with a mule kick! Gordy immediately crumbles to the mat and James Beard is right in Muraco’s face warning him. Normally that would be a disqualification, but it looks like James Beard is showing some leeway since this is such a highly anticipated match!
And look at Muraco now- he’s going to town on Gordy’s injured neck and this time he’s doing it with malice. Muraco lays Gordy out and then drives a leaping elbow smash into the back of the neck! And now a second one! A third! A fourth! A fifth! Terry Gordy is in serious trouble here and now it’s Muraco calling for the end. Magnificent Muraco scoops up Gordy and it looks like he’s going for the reverse piledriver, but Bamm Bamm gets out of the back. Muraco stumbles around and Gordy boots him in the gut.
