Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura open the show.
Monsoon, “Welcome to ‘Wrestlemania IV’! Jess, we are at the Trump Casino, what a place!”
Ventura, “Gino, this is unbelievable! Donald Trump has built an empire, and the WWF is here! It’s going to be great!”
Monsoon, “Speaking of Mr. Trump, let’s hear from him.”
We see Donald Trump with Hulk Hogan.
Trump, “The WWF and the Trump Plaza and Casino, you can’t beat that combination, just like you can’t beat Hulk Hogan!”
Hogan, “Andre, you big stinky giant, Donald Trump is a winner in business, just like Hulk Hogan is in wrestling! And ‘Multi-Million Dollar Man’, you’re looking at the “Multi-Billion Dollar Man’! What cha’ gonna’ do when the two unstoppable forces come after you!”
Monsoon, “Jess, those are two winners!”
Ventura, “One winner! Hogan runs into a big brick wall tonight, the Giant!”
Monsoon, “Alright, we disagree on that. What about the WWF Title?”
Ventura, “The ‘Macho Man’ is tough, Piper is nuts, but the ‘Million Dollar Man’ walks out of Trump Plaza with the Title.”
Monsoon, “Here is what we have. Randy Savage meets Roddy Piper, and the winner of that match meets Ted DiBiase. What an event, and it all begins ...now!”
Match #1
WWF Title Qualifying Match
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth
And so it begins. The crowd seems evenly divided in this one. Macho starts fast. He goes right after Piper. Roddy never backs down, so he responds with rights and lefts. Savage fires back and we have a slugfest. Piper whips Savage into the ropes and clamps on a sleeper hold. The “Macho Man” fights his way to the ropes. Referee Joey Marella calls for the break. The action continues, and the fans are on the edge of their seats. Savage slams Piper, and goes for the cover. Marella starts the count. At two, Piper gets his foot on the ropes. Marella does not see this, and counts three! Randy Savage pins Roddy Piper! Roddy argues, to no avail. Randy Savage will meet Ted DiBiase for the WWF Title!

Match #2
The Bushwhackers vs. The Bolsheviks w/Slick
Two wild teams meet in this one. Luke and Zhukov open the action. Luke can brawl with the best of them. Zhukov uses his size and strength to trap the Bushwhacker in the corner. Luke fights his way out, and tags in Butch. He pummels Boris, and now the big Russian is in trouble. Volkoff tags in and takes over. The next few minutes are wild. Both teams tag in and out. Zhukov uses a massive head butt to stun Luke, and cover him for the win.
Winners-The Bolsheviks
Match #3
Kamala w/Slick vs. David Sammartino
Sammartino and referee Tim White wait in the ring. Kamala, Kim Chi, and Slick come to the ring. The big Ugandan attacks Sammartino. He chops, and kicks and Sammartino is in trouble. David tries to mount an attack. He puts up a good fight, but Kamala is too much. He slams Sammartino, and wins with the big splash.
Winner-Kamala
“Mean” Gene Okerlund is with the Junkyard Dog.
Okerlund, “With me is the Junkyard Dog! Dog, you meet the ‘King’ Harley Race later today. He is a long time champion.”
JYD, “Aww! Harley Race, you ain’t no king, the Dog is the ‘King’, and you’re just a big, old, bone to chew on! Race, you about to get bitten by the meanest dog in the yard!”
Okerlund, “Let’s hear from the ‘King’, and Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan.”
We see Harley Race, and Bobby Heenan in another interview area.
Heenan, “Junkyard Dog, what a moron! The ‘King’ is a former World Champion, and you’re a former..I don’t know...loser. The King is going to put you to sleep!”
Race, “Dog, I shouldn’t have to dirty myself by getting in the ring with a peasant, but since I do, I’m going to teach you a lesson!”
Match #4
Junkyard Dog vs. “The King” Harley Race w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
Two veterans meet in this one. Heenan puts the badmouth on JYD. The veteran is not easily shaken. They lock up. JYD has more power, and it shows early. He works over Race, and the “King” is in trouble. Heenan tries to distract the Dog, and it works. Race is now in control. He gets a quick two count, but the Dog kicks out. Race positions JYD for a suplex. The Dog blocks it. JYD scoops up the King, and lands the big thump. Referee Earle Hebner counts the fall. Heenan is outraged.

The Rockers vs. The Young Stallions
This should be a fast paced, scientific, match. All four men shake hands, and the bell rings. Jannetty, and Roma open the contest. Paul uses his strength, and the Stallions are off to a good start. Jannetty starts a comeback. He takes to the air, and now the Rockers have the edge. Roma tags in Jim Powers. Powers and Jannetty go back and forth. Shawn Michaels tags in, he picks up the pace. The Rockers use the Rocker dropper for the win.

Match #6
Billy Jack Haynes vs. “Cowboy” Bob Orton
Haynes has become one of the most popular men in the WWF. The veteran Orton will be a stiff test. Bob mat wrestles, and he takes control. The Atlantic City crowd gets behind Haynes. Billy mounts a comeback. He works over Orton and wins with a full Nelson.
Winner-Billy Jack Haynes
Gene Okerlund is with Donald Trump.
Okerlund, “With me is real estate, entertainment, and casino mogul, Donald Trump! Mr. Trump, the WWF is so happy to be in your house!”
Trump, “Thank you Gene. We are so happy to have you in our great arena. Did you see the ‘Macho Man’ in the first match? I told everyone he was going to win the Title.”
Okerlund, “You may be right, and what about Miss Elizabeth? She is a beauty!”
Trump, “She sure is. I hope Ivana didn’t catch me staring. You know Gene, I want to talk about one more thing. What about Hulk and Andre? I think the ‘Hulkster’ wins. You just can’t beat him.”
Okerlund, “Hulk Hogan is a legend, but so is Andre, and you know, Heenan may get involved.”
Trump, “If he does, my security men will take care of him.”
Okerlund, “Donald Trump, the biggest name in the entertainment business, and the WWF, what a combination!”
Match #7
“Ravishing” Rick Rude w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake
The Barber and referee Joey Marella wait in the ring.
Plays and Rude and Heenan come to the ring. Rude takes the mic.
Rude, “What I’d like to have right now, is for all you fat Atlantic City, slot machine losers, to shut your mouths so your women can watch me take off my robe, and they can see what a real man looks like.”
The bell rings and we are underway. Beefcake is very aggressive, and Rude returns in kind. The crowd hates Rude, but that doesn't bother him. Beefcake stays sharp. He goes for a sleeper, but Rude escapes. They go back and forth until Rick is able to hit the Rude awakening for the win.

Match #8
Bam Bam Bigelow w/Slick vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts
Two Superstars lock up on this one. Jake is his slippery best. He avoids the massive Bigelow’s power. Jake a two count, but Bam Bam kicks out. Slick argues with referee Tim White. He claims a fast count. Bigelow catches Roberts in the corner and pounds away. Jake fights his way out, and now he has the momentum. He hits a short clothesline, and follows it up with the DDT. He covers Bam Bam, and White counts the fall.
Winner-Jake Roberts
Sean Mooney is with Mr. Perfect, and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan.
Mooney, “With me are the Intercontinental Champion, and his manger. Gentleman, the Ultimate Warrior has looked unbeatable since you took the Intercontinental from him.”
Heenan, “Look Gooney, I know you’re not too bright, but listen to what you just said, ‘Took the Title from him.’ Mr. Perfect beat that muscle bound moron before, we will do it again. Tell him Perfect!”
Perfect, “Ultimate Warrior, this is wrestling, and I’m a wrestler. I made you look like a fool before, and that’s going to happen again. I’m going to tie you in knots, and I’m walking out of Trump Plaza with this in tact “
Mooney, “Let’s hear from the Challenger.”
We see the Ultimate Warrior in an interview area.
Warrior, “Mr. Perfect, no one is perfect! Everyone is vulnerable, and you are no exception! Last time the fates were against me, today I will conquer them, and you, I will be the Champion, again!”
Match #9
Intercontinental Championship
Mr. Perfect (Champion) w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. The Ultimate Warrior
The Warrior hits the ring first. He paces back and forth as the Champion, and his manager, walk slowly down the aisle. Perfect wants to slow the pace, and make this a wrestling match. Earle Hebner is your referee. They lock up, and the Warrior takes over. He whips Perfect into the ropes and drops him with a clothesline. Warrior goes for the cover, but Perfect kicks out. Heenan shouts instructions from ringside. Perfect takes Warrior down, and begins to wrestle. This puts the Champion in control. The match continues to back and forth. Warrior grabs the momentum. He scoops up Perfect, and slams him to the mat. He goes for the big splash, and hits it. Hebner counts 1...2...3! The Ultimate Warrior regains the Intercontinental Championship! The Warrior celebrates as the crowd goes crazy!
Winner-Ultimate Warrior (New Intercontinental Champion)
Jack Tunney is seated at his desk.
Tunney, “Good afternoon fans. I am Jack Tunney, the President if the World Wrestling Federation. I hope everyone is enjoying the action today. The WWF continues to provide you with the best in wrestling action. I am here today to announce our next Pay per View event. On Sunday night, August 13, we will present ‘SummerSlam. The event will take place at the legendary Madison Square Garden. Stay tuned to WWF programming for more information.”
Match #10
WWF Tag Team Championship
Demolition (Champions) w/Mr. Fugi vs. The Von Erich Brothers
The brothers from Texas have been chasing the Champions for some time. Joey Marella will try to control the action. Kerry starts with Ax. The powerful Texan starts fast. Ax is in retreat. Kerry is very aggressive. He works over the big man, and then tags in Kevin. The high flying Von Erich keeps up the assault. Kevin gets too close to the wrong corner, and Ax and Smash trap him. They double team, and every time Kerry tries to help, Marella stops him. The Champions dish out the punishment, and Von Erich is in trouble. Finally, Kevin escapes and tags in Kerry. The younger brother goes to work. He cleans house, and the Champions take to the floor to confer with Fugi. They return to the ring, and the action resumes. All four men end up in the ring. Referee Tim White tries to control the action, but he has no chance. He calls for the bell, and disqualifies both teams.
Result-Double Disqualification
We see a graphic.
Saturday night, May 6, “Saturday Night’s Main Event” returns, 11:30 PM, live on NBC.
Sean Mooney is with Andre the Giant, and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan.
Mooney, “With me are Andre the Giant, and Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan. Gentlemen, you have the test of a lifetime today.”
Heenan, “What are you talking about Gooney? Test? Andre doesn't have a test, Hogan does. Andre is the greatest wrestler in history, he’s never been beaten. Hogan is just some ham and egger with pumped up muscles. Hogan, Andre carried you for years. Finally, he got smart it’s all over for you!”
Andre, “Hogan, today I pay you back! Today, I end your career!”
Mooney, “Let’s go to ‘Mean Gene’, and the Hulkster.”
Hulk Hogan is with Gene Okerlund.
Okerlund, “With me is Hulk Hogan. Hulkster, you heard Bobby Heenan, and Andre. They say you are in for the test of your life.”
Hogan, “Let me tell you something Mean Gene! That big stinky Giant, and Bobby Heenan have big mouths! Andre, you were my mentor, you helped make me a champion, but you turned your back on me, not the other way around! Now, it’s time for me to teach you a lesson! What ‘cha gonna’ do when Hulkamania runs over you!”
Match #11
Andre the Giant w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. Hulk Hogan
Andre, Heenan, and referee Joey Marella wait in the ring. We hear,
The Hulkster comes down the aisle. He stops and shakes hands with Donald Trump.
Hogan climbs into the ring, and tears off his shirt. The bell rings and both Giants go nose to nose. Hogan throws the first blow, Andre retaliates, and we are underway. Andre has the early edge. He pounds away, and Hogan goes to his knees. The Giant lands a boot to the chest, and Hogan goes down. Andre covers him. Marella counts two, but Hogan kicks out. Andre and Heenan both argue it was a slow count. Hogan is able to get to his feet. Now he takes the fight to the Giant. Hogan tries to scoop up the Giant, but Andre blocks it. That might be a mistake. Hogan's back seems injured. Andre goes to work on the Hulkster. Andre backs Hogan into the ropes. Andre picks up Hogan, and dumps him over the top rope. Hogan crashes to the floor. Marella starts his count. Hogan is not moving. At five, he begins to stir. He tries to climb into the rings, but the count reaches ten! Hulk Hogan has been counted out! Heenan enters the ring and celebrates with Andre! The Atlantic City crowd is stunned!
Winner-Andre the Giant (Count Out)
Gorilla Monsoon, and Jesse Ventura are in the announce position.
Monsoon, “Jess, the Hulkster loses!”
Ventura, “HAHAH! I told you the ‘Chumpster’ couldn’t beat the Giant! ‘Chumpamania’ is dead!”
Monsoon, “I don’t know about that. Hulk Hogan won’t give up, he’ll come back!”
Ventura, “Not very likely Gino Monsoon!”
Monsoon, “Alright, we are ready for the main event. The ‘Macho Man’ was able to beat Roddy Piper to earn the right to face, the Champion, the ‘Million Dollar Man’. Let’s here for Ted DiBiase.”
Ted DiBiase and Virgil are with Sean Mooney.
Mooney. “With me are Ted DiBiase, and Virgil. Mr. DiBiase, Randy Savage beat Roddy Piper for the right to face you. He has the momentum.”
DiBiase, “Look you peasant, show some respect to the WWF Champion. I’ve held this title for a long time, I’ve beaten everyone. Now two losers fight each other for the right to be embarrassed by me! Savage gave everything he had, which wasn’t much, to beat that bum Piper. He’s got nothing left! I’m going to toy with him, and then finishes him off with the Million Dollar dream! After that, I’m going buy this Casino, knock it down, and build something nice! HAHAHA!”
Mooney, “The Champion is very confident. Let’s go to Gene Okerlund, and the Challenger.”
Gene Okerlund is with Randy Savage and Elizabeth.
Okerlund, “With me are the ‘Macho Man’. And the lovely Miss Elizabeth. ‘Macho Man’, you earned a hard fought win over Roddy Piper, and now you face Ted DiBiase.”
Savage, “Gene Okerlund, the Macho Man has never taken the easy path, no he hasn’t! Roddy Piper, you are one tough son of a gun! I give you all the credit in the World, yes I do! I beat you, I know I can beat the ‘Zero Dollar Man’! I’m coming to the ring, and taking what belongs to me, the WWF Championship! Ohhhhh Yeaaaa!”
Okerlund, “Our main event is next!”
Match #12
WWF Championship
Ted DiBiase (Champion) w/Virgil vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth
Plays and the “Macho Man” and Miss Elizabeth come down the aisle. Next comes the “Million Dollar Man”. Earle Hebner is your referee. The bell rings and we are underway. Both men are cautious. Savage shows no effects of his earlier match, but how long can he last. Savage tries to pick up the pace, and DiBiase tries to avoid the Challenger. Savage traps DiBiase in the corner, and works him over. Virgil comes over and distracts Savage. This gives the “Million Dollar Man” an opening. He goes right after Savage. Now the Champion is in control. He clamps on the Million Dollar dream. Savage fights his way to the ropes and Hebner calls for a break. DiBiase keeps up the attack. Elizabeth looks worried. Ted tries to shoot Savage into the corner, but Randy reverses it, and DiBiase crashes into the turnbuckles. He staggers out, and the Macho Man backdrops him to the mat. The tide turns once again. Savage keeps up the attack he slams the Champion to the mat. Savage climbs to the top rope. He hits the flying elbow. He covers the Champion! Hebner counts 1...2...3! The Macho Man is the Champion. Elizabeth climbs into the ring and embraces the new champion. Wrestlers from the back stream into the ring, Billy Jack Haynes, the Rockers, Hillbilly Jim, the Von Erichs. They all congratulate the Champion. There is a commotion in the aisle. Roddy Piper comes to the ring. He grabs the mic.
Piper, “”Savage, you were lucky, but it’s better to be lucky! You beat me, and you beat DiBiase. You deserve it...today, but I’m still here, I ain’t going anywhere. We’ll fight again, and I’ll beat you, but today is your day!”
Piper extends his hand. Savage is hesitant, but he does shake Piper’s hand. The crowd goes crazy.
Winner-Randy Savage (New WWF Champion)
Gorilla Monsoon, and Jesse Ventura close the show.
Monsoon, “Jess, we have a new Champion, and it’s great!”
Ventura, “I’ve always liked the Macho Man, he’s a great wrestler, but now he has DiBiase, Piper, and Andre chasing him!”
Monsoon, “The action in the summer of 1988 is going to be exciting. The next time we see you for Pay per View will be August 13 for ‘SummerSlam’! Remember to tune in on May 6 for ‘Saturday Night’s Main Event’! For Jesse Ventura, goodbye from Wrestlemania IV!”
