THE WORLD WIDE WRESTLING ASSOCIATION
KORAKUEN HALL
TOKYO, JAPAN
SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, 1995
Ring Announcer SHOICHI ARAI welcomes the fans to the first World Wide Wrestling Association show of 1995!
ARAI then introduces the competitors for the first match.
DAMIEN KANE beat JASON THE TERRIBLE by pinfall after a Piledriver.
WOMEN’S MATCH
MEGUMI KUDO & TIGER DREAM beat LADY VICTORIA & DEVIL MASAMI after Tiger Dream hit Devil Masami with a picture-perfect Moonsault off the top rope for the pinfall.
THE GREAT KABUKI (w/ Gary Hart) beat MR. GANNOSUKE. Gannosuke gave Kabuki a tough match, but in the end, Kabuki got the pinfall after a jab to the throat, followed by a wicked savate kick that caught Gannosuke right on the chin.
MITSUHIRO “MR. DANGER” MATSUNAGA defeated LEATHERFACE. Things started off with Leatherface storming into the audience and chasing fans around with his chainsaw! The match itself was a wild, hard-hitting affair that saw plenty of offence from both wrestlers. In the end, Leatherface set Matsunaga up on the top rope and attempted a Superplex, but Matsunaga pushed Leatherface off, and then connected with a diving elbowsmash off the second rope for the pinfall.
THE HEADHUNTERS defeated MASATO TANAKA & HECTOR GUERRERO. Tanaka and Guerrero worked well together, but the Headhunters were just too much for them. In the end, Headhunter A brawled at ringside with Masato Tanaka, while inside the ring, Headhunter B set up a table, laid Hector out on it, and then MOONSAULTED HIM THROUGH IT! That was all she wrote for Hector, as the Headhunter covered him for the 1, 2, 3!
JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER fought ULTIMO DRAGON to a 20-minute time limit DRAW. Liger and Dragon put on a classic for the fans. They wrestled on the mat, took to the air, and even threw in some brawling for the fans. After Dragon missed an Asai Moonsault, Liger hit him with a Running Liger Bomb, but the time limit ran out before he could cover Dragon.
HAYABUSA defeated SABU. Sabu beat Hayabusa last month, and the Phoenix was looking to put that behind him and come out victorious in the rematch. Sabu pulled out all the stops, attempting several death-defying moves, and hitting Hayabusa with everything that wasn’t nailed down.
Sabu put his career on the line when he set up a chair, then ran the ropes, springboarded off the chair, and dove over the top rope onto Hayabusa, who was standing in the first row of seats!
Back inside the ring, Sabu went for the win, hitting Hayabusa with the Arabian Facebuster, but Hayabusa kicked out! Hayabusa fought back and, after bringing a table into the ring, he picked Sabu up for a Powerbomb, spun around, and drove Sabu down through the table!
Hayabusa hit Sabu with the Falcon Arrow for good measure, and then covered Sabu for the 1, 2, 3 and avenged the loss to Sabu last month.
**Up next was a 20 minute intermission, so that the ring crew could set up the Cage for the main event.
During the intermission, ring announcer SHOICHI ARAI announced that the WWWA will return to Korakuen Hall on Saturday night, February 11.
On that show will be the very first WWWA King of the Death Matches tournament! Some of the biggest names in wrestling will be taking part in the tournament, including the biggest foreign star in Japanese wrestling history, the Texas Bronco, TERRY FUNK!
Also on the show, Sabu and Hayabusa meet in a rubber match, to finally see who really is the most suicidal, homicidal, death-defying wrestler in the World today! Plus, UWF World Champion the Great Muta will return to Japan to put the belt on the line against Mexican star El Canek!**
ARAI then introduced the competitors for the main event, an Electrified Barbed Wire Timebomb Exploding Cage Death Match!
ELECTRIFIED BARBED WIRE TIMEBOMB EXPLODING CAGE DEATH MATCH
MR. POGO & KENDO NAGASAKI beat ATSUSHI ONITA & CARLOS COLON. This match was everything you would expect, a wild, bloody, out of control brawl! It wasn’t long before all four men were wearing the crimson mask, although Pogo and Nagasaki weren’t as bad as Onita and Colon, Onita particularly had been rendered a bloody mess!
At 9:45, ring announcer Arai started the count-down, starting at 15 seconds. When he reached 0, all four men, and the referee, hit the mat and the timebomb went off! The building filled with smoke and it took a few moments for it to clear.
Once it did, the match continued for another minute or two. The end came when Nagasaki and Pogo put Colon out of commission by tossing him into the electrified barbed wire. Nagasaki cracked Onita over the head with a chair that he had brought into the ring when the match started. Nagasaki cinched Onita up for a Piledriver, and then he and Pogo delivered a vicious Spike Piledriver right onto the chair!
Onita couldn’t get up and Nagasaki covered him for the pinfall.
ARAI thanked the fans for coming, and reminded them again about the next show, on February 11, where 8 of the top wrestlers in the World will compete in the first WWWA King of the Death Matches tournament!
