ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA
STEVE DOLL beats THE MASKED TERRORIST by pinfall in the opening bout.
ICEMAN PARSONS defeats MR. SAITO (w/General Skandor Akbar) via Disqualification. This match was signed after Parsons pulled off an upset on AWA TV, surprising everyone by pinning Saito. This time, as Parsons gains the upper hand, Akbar trips Parsons as he runs the ropes, then climbs into the ring, and Saito and Akbar put the boots to Parsons until several wrestlers come out to pull them off of the Iceman.
STAN HANSEN & KING KONG BRODY beat WAHOO MCDANIEL & BARON VON RASCHKE by pinfall. Hansen and Brody have been on a tear since they arrived in the AWA, destroying everybody that’s faced them. They have a tough time with the two veterans Wahoo and the Baron, but the end result is the same, as Hansen hits Wahoo with a Lariat then covers him for the 1, 2, 3.
“HOLLYWOOD” JOHN TATUM (w/ Sensational Sherri Martel) defeats AWA World Television Champion SCOTT HALL via Disqualification. Two weeks ago, these two met in this same building, with Hall getting the win by DQ when Tatum used Sherri’s obviously loaded purse as a weapon. This time around, Hall is ready, and when Tatum tries to bring Sherri’s purse into the ring, Hall takes it from him, and smashes Tatum in the head with it, sending Tatum tumbling through the ropes and to the floor. The referee sees this, and awards the match to Tatum by DQ.
AWA World Tag Team champions THE FANTASTICS: TOMMY ROGERS & BOBBY FULTON defeat THE ISLANDERS: HAKU & TAMA (w/ Capt. Lou Albano). This match has been given a 60-minute time limit, since the two teams went the full 30 minutes last time they were here. They went 30+ minutes again, and had the fans on the edge of their seats for the whole thing! The action was non-stop, back and forth, with both teams coming within a half a count of winning the match. But in the end, it’s the new champions the Fantastics getting their hands raised as Fulton delivers the Fantastic Flip on Tama, leading to the 1, 2, 3!
BIG VAN VADER & ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER & THE ONE MAN GANG (w/ General Skandor Akbar) beat STEVE “DR. DEATH” WILLIAMS & SGT. SLAUGHTER & JERRY “CRUSHER” BLACKWELL. This is a wild one that sees all six men brawling at once through most of the match! Late in the bout, as Slaughter and Vader pummel each other outside the ring, and Blackwell and Gang brawl inside, Abby uses his trusty fork to open up a nasty gash over Doc’s eye. Abby keeps punching, and even BITING, at the cut, and it’s not long before Doc is wearing the crimson mask. Despite his legs getting rubbery, Williams keeps trying to fight back, but in his weakened state, his punches don’t have much effect on the madman from the Sudan.
The representative of the Minnesota Athletic Commission sitting ringside, obviously concerned about the amount of blood that Williams has lost, tells the timekeeper to ring the bell, and informs the referee that Williams is unfit to continue, due to blood loss.
The match is awarded to Akbar’s trio of Vader, Gang and Abby, over protests from Williams, who says he can continue, and tries to get at Abdullah, but is held back by Slaughter and Blackwell.
