Smoky Mountain Wrestling returns to the Kingsport Civic Auditorium this Wednesday night at 8:00pm with an
exciting lineup of mat action. As was already announced, The Rock & Roll Express will meet The Jive Tones in
tag team action. Manager Ron Wright and his duo of Shaska Whatley and Tiger Conway Jr. take credit for forcing
The Fantastics out of the area, and are promising to do the same to Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson.
The Rock & Roll's say that after facing the meanest, biggest, and toughest teams in the world during their four
reigns as World Tag Team Champions has prepared them for whatever the Jive Tones have to offer. The match
will be a one fall affair, with a thirty minute time limit.
After the wild ending to the main event last week between "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and
Lord Jonathon Boyd, the promoter has signed a rematch between the two men to take
place this Wednesday night at the C.A. This time, however, the Disqualification rule is
being waved, with no holds barred in this contest. Information I have gotten suggests
that it was Duggan who has asked for the lax rules in this rematch.
A familiar face to the area, Ole Anderson, one half of the famed Minnesota Wrecking
Crew with his brother Gene and later with his cousin Arn Anderson, will be making his
return to northeast Tennessee this Wednesday night when he faces Nelson Royal.
These two men have squared off with each other several times over the years, and
have never failed to bring hard hitting action. This week's contest should prove no different.
There will be two other bouts on the card that starts at 8:00pm on Wednesday night.
Advance tickets can be purchased at the Civic Auditorium ticket office, as well as at
Singleton's Customer Service Desk, and Big John's on Hwy 11W. Tickets are $5.00
in advance, $6.00 at the door. See you at the matches!
