Eric Bischoff: Hello and welcome to IWA Stampede Wrestling! I’m Eric Bischoff, and what a show we have for you! Tonight, we will bring you the start of the innovative Super Juniors ‘88 tournament. We start with 16 of the best athletes from all over the world, and match-by-match we’ll whittle down to the brand new IWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion in the Super Juniors ‘88 TV special here on CTV and FNN on Sunday, February 26. Joining me now is one of the men in that tournament, making his first appearance, the… Palm Beach Playboy… gimme a break, this is Scotty the Body!
Scotty the Body: First of all, you need to say my name with a bit more enthusiasm, Ken Doll! You’re just jealous of my sweet duds. But you’re right, I am the Palm Beach Playboy Scotty the Body. Not only am I the future winner of the Super Juniors ‘88 tournament, not only am I the future IWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion, not only am I finer than fine, I’m also the greatest mind and the greatest broadcaster in professional wrestling, Bischoff!
Eric Bischoff: So humble too! Now, we promised this week we’d have the bracks for the Super Juniors ‘88 tournament - and the first two matches right here tonight. So, let’s take a look at the first round right now.

Eric Bischoff: Never before has such a collection of international talent come together in one tournament. And right here tonight, we’ll see those first two matches.
Scotty the Body: First of all, I think I should have got an automatic advancement to the finals because I’m much better than the rest of these guys! The bad news is that you people won’t see Scotty the Body in the ring for a few weeks. The good thing is I’ll be able to enlighten you with my commentary! You’ll learn a lot, trust me!
Eric Bischoff: Wonderful. Well fans, right here tonight we will have an IWA Tag Team Title match as the brand new champions, the Fabulous Rougeaus, defend against the team of Bruce Hart and his brother, IWA TV Champion Owen Hart! Plus, the debut of ‘Dangerous’ Dan Spivey and an interview with the new IWA World Heavyweight Champion Bad News Allen! Right now, let’s go to the ring for the start of Super Juniors ‘88!
Super Juniors ‘88 - quarter finals
Flyin’ Brian vs. Gama Singh
The Great Gama tries to keep Flyin’ Brian grounded for much of the contest by tying him up in a series of leglocks, but Pillman continuously fights his way out of it. Singh tries to tie Pillman up in a Figure Four, but Flyin’ Brian kicks him away. Singh comes back out of the corner with a super kick, which Pillman ducks, spins Gama around and drills him with a lariat. Flyin’ Brian leaps up to the top rope as Singh stumbles off and connects with Air Pillman for the three count. Flyin’ Brian advances in Super Juniors ‘88!
Winner Flyin’ Brian by pinfall @ 8:30

‘US Male’ Curtis Thompson vs. Bob Bradley
Curtis Thompson gets on everyone’s nerves as he flexes before the match and after offensive runs. Scotty the Body on commentary complains that the people are just jealous of the US Male’s body. Bradley comes off the ropes with a twisting splash, but Thompson catches him and drives him down into a backbreaker. The US Male then applies his impressive reverse piledriver for the three count. More gratuitous flexing after the match.
Winner ‘US Male’ Curtis Thompson by pinfall @ 5:01
Ed Whalen: Joining me right now is Tom Zenk. Now Z-Man, I know you have something you need to get off your chest!
Tom Zenk: Mr. Whalen, after my friend Rick Martel scored the pin on me at the All Star Assault, I shook his hand like a man. However, I’ve since seen that he had his feet on the bottom rope as he pinned me. I don’t what’s going on with Rick, but I demand he come out here and accept a challenge to face me one more time!
There’s a commotion as a frowning Rick Martel makes his way over to the interview area where Tom Zenk and Ed Whalen are standing by.
Rick Martel: I can’t believe you, Tom. If I didn’t know you better, I’d think you were a poor sport! Listen, you don’t have to like it, but I beat you in the middle of the ring. Just accept it!
Tom Zenk: If you can beat me fairly, I’ll accept it! But you didn’t beat me fairly. Next week, I want you in that ring one more time if you have the guts!
Rick Martel: That’s not how a friend talks to a friend, Tom! I’ve teamed with you and I’ve been by your side - but maybe you’ve changed! Fine, you want one more match? I’ll happily beat you again, but then you need to get on with your life!
Ed Whalen now steps between the two as they go nose-to-nose, and suddenly the IWA Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Rougeaus are on the scene.
Jacques Rougeau: Now hold on a second, guys! Raymond and I don’t like to see our friends fighting. Listen, we’re here in the States tonight. We're thinking of moving here! And guys, we know Americans always show very best about sportsmanship so we're learning from them! How about Raymond and I sit at ringside next week and make sure that we get a fair winner? You both can trust us - we’re your friends!
Rick Martel: I’m beginning to think I’ll need someone at ringside to keep an eye on him! He’s losing it!
Tom Zenk: Jacques, Raymond, you guys have been good friends to both of us! I trust you to keep an eye on things and make sure he doesn’t try to cheat again!
Rick Martel: Hey!
Raymond Rougeau: Just calm down guys! We’ll make sure everything goes fairly next week, and then you guys can put this behind you. Let’s go to the back, and handle this disagreement like gentlemen! It’s the American way!
Ed Whalen: Well, a very confusing turn of events here. It looks like Rick Martel will face Tom Zenk one more right here next week!

Ed Whalen: Bad News, I want to congratulate you on becoming the World Heavyweight Champion!
Bad News Allen: Thank you very much, Ed. You know, I see lots of different groups claiming they have World Champions. When was the last time you saw Hulk Hogan wrestling in England? Have you seen Ric Flair defending the title in Mexico City, recently? I don’t think so. I won this belt in Vancouver and here I am tonight in Seattle. I’ll defend this belt in Canada, the US, Mexico, Japan, wherever and whenever!
Ed Whalen: I’ve heard Bruiser Brody wants a shot at your title. I know Terry Gordy wants a rematch. We know you’ll be defending your title as part of our special Super Juniors ‘88 special on Sunday, February 26.
Bad News Allen: Give me Brody! Give me Gordy! Give me anybody. You’re looking at the only true Ultimate Warrior in professional wrestling. I don’t back down. I don’t fear any man.
Ed Whalen: Let’s get back to the ring!
‘Dangerous’ Dan Spivey vs. Brad Anderson
‘China White’ by The Scorpions ushers a very scary individual into the ring. Spivey just stares down Anderson with those crazy eyes, and then knees him in the gut. Spivey clubs Anderson over the back a few times, then hoists him up into a vicious power-bomb. Spivey kneels down with one knee on Anderson’s chest for the academic three count. Brad Anderson is carted out on a stretcher after the match as Dan Spivey looks on with a euphoric and disturbing smile.
Winner ‘Dangerous’ Dan Spivey by pinfall @ 1:04
Scotty the Body: I wouldn’t want to get on that guy’s bad side! Shove off for a minute Bischoff because I have a very special guest I want to talk to. This is the man who pinned Owen Hart at the All Star Assault. William Regal, in my mind, you are the rightful Television Champion!
William Regal: And yet, where is my title shot? What’s this pillock Owen Hart doing tonight? Competing for another championship? The obvious favortism towards the Hart family here is disgusting. All I hear about is this silly little Dungeon. I broke in wrestling in the carnivals at Blackpool, beating three-four-five blokes in a go, sunshine! I think it’s obvious Owen Hart doesn’t want to put his title on the line against a man like that!
Scotty the Body: Exactly right! Ya know, I’ve always suspected that Stu Hart is a sissy!
William Regal: Owen Hart, I’m right here. Brave enough for another go?
Scotty the Body: All of the Harts are cowards! Mr. Regal, it’s been a pleasure.

Super Juniors ‘88 - quarter finals
‘The Professional’ Joe Malenko vs. Vampiro
There’s a surprise to start off when Joe Malenko is accompanied to the ring by the Magnificent Mimi. Vampiro has had a gothic makeover since the last time the fans saw him on TV. The youngster’s basic offense consists mainly of quick strikes and headbutts, but he has an fighting underdog charisma that gets the fans on his side. However, Vampiro is eventually trapped in a Northern Lights Suplex by The Professional and pinned. So, it will be Flyin’ Brian vs. Joe Malenko in the semi-finals!
Winner ‘The Professional’ Joe Malenko by pin @ 7:37
Eric Bischoff: Two exciting first round matches. Let’s take a look once again at the brackets, and preview what we have ahead next week.

JOE MALENKO V VAMPIRO

SCOTTY THE BODY V JOHNNY SMITH
AMERICAN LOVE MACHINE V DEAN MALENKO
Eric Bischoff: So, right here next week, we will see partner versus partner when Tiger Mask II faces off with the Black Tiger. I’m sure Rollerball Rocco isn’t happy with that random draw!
Scotty the Body: It’s a conspiracy, Bischoff!
Eric Bischoff: We’ll also have one of the best young Canadian wrestlers in the sport today Dan Kroffat facing the equally impressive Liger from Japan.
Scotty the Body: Does that Liger wear a mask? It’s probably he’s got a face not even a mother could love, Bischoff.
Eric Bischoff: The hits just keep on coming! Fans, we’ll be right back with the main event!

TV Main Event: IWA Tag Team Title
Fabulous Rougeaus vs. Hart Brothers
This one starts off with all four shaking hands at the behest of the brand new IWA Tag Team Champions Jacques and Raymond Rougeau. Raymond and Owen start off first, and Hart gets the better of Rougeau and takes him down with a side headlock. Rougeau back suplexes his way out, but then misses a slingshot splash. Owen takes Rougeau over with a gutwrench suplex and then locks in a head scissors ass we take our final commercial break.

Eric Bischoff: We’re back fans, and the Rougeaus have smartly kept Owen Hart on their side of the ring during the commercial.
Scotty the Body: I’m not crazy about the Rougeaus, but it’s always fun to see the Harts take a beating.
Bruce Hart is trying to rally the fans behind his brother, but the Rougeaus keep Owen tied up. Jacques Rougeau shoots Owen off the ropes but the Rocket rolls through a clothesline attempt and drills Jacques with a dropkick. Owen is now crawling to his corner and Bruce reaches out for the hot tag… but no! It’s that masked man we saw two weeks ago! He’s just jumped the rail, yanked Bruce down from the apron and drilled him with a clothesline in full view of the referee!
Referee John Bonello calls for the bell here as Jacques and Raymond Rougeau look on in confusion for a second. The masked man scoops Bruce up over his shoulder and hurls him like a lawn dart right into the post. Now the Rougeaus charge over as a tired Owen flies through the ropes too, but the masked man is back over the rail and taking off through the crowd! That’s the second time this masked man has targeted the Harts here on IWA Stampede Wrestling! Owen tends to his older brother as the Rougeaus puff out their chests and challenge the masked man to come back!
Winners The Hart Brothers by disqualification @ 12:08
Eric Bischoff: What exactly is going on here, fans? I am going to try to get to the bottom of who this guy is and hopefully have more information for you next week!
Scotty the Body: What’s to figure out? It’s no surprise that most people hate the Hart family. You heard William Regal say that very thing out here earlier! Hey, maybe he’s the masked guy?
Eric Bischoff: That’s a very good question, Scotty! Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it here next week, when we’ll have more Super Juniors ‘88 as well as the announcement of IWA World Heavyweight Champion Bad News Allen’s next opponent! We’ll see you then!
