Milt Avruskin: ‘Welcome everyone to International Wrestling. I’m Milt Avruskin and joining me here at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton is one of the great wrestling historians, Larry Matysik. Welcome to Canada, Larry!’
Larry Matysik: ‘Thank you very much, Milt. Canada has such a wealth of wrestling history and tradition - it’s a pleasure to be a part of International Wrestling. Especially as the promotion continues to break new ground.’
Milt Avruskin: ‘You’re alluding to a major announcement I’m very happy to make. International Wrestling has signed a cooperation agreement with All-Japan Pro Wrestling - which means some of the most incredible athletes from the East are here in Canada… and more are on the way.’
Larry Matysik: ‘One of those amazing athletes on the ways is the current PWF Heavyweight and United National Champion the Great Tenryu. Mr. Tenryu will be in Quebec City on Christmas Eve, Saturday night December 24, 1987 for an incredible match.’
Milt Avruskin: ‘That’s right. The Great Tenryu will put his two titles on the line against the International Heavyweight Champion Terry ‘Bamm Bamm’ Gordy. One of these two men could walk way with an unprecedented three heavyweight titles in one night. Mr. Tenryu will be here next week, and we’ll see him in action.’
Larry Matysik: ‘Truly a momentous night is ahead of us on Christmas Eve. Tonight, we’ll have some incredible matches as well. Firstly, the Garvins will be in the ring with Rick Martel and a mystery partner. We’ll also have International Tag Team Champions the Rougeau Brothers. Later, Canadian Heavyweight Champion Dino Bravo defends his title against Owen Hart.’
Milt Avruskin: ‘All that and much more. Let’s go to the ring!’
THE GARVIN BROTHERS VS. RICK MARTEL & ?
Precious is spraying from her aerosol can as ‘Gorgeous’ JImmy Garvin primps his hair and Ronnie Garvin crackles his knuckles ominously. From the dressing room now is Rick Martel and he’s all alone! Martel stops half-way down the aisle and then points to the curtain. Out comes a very familiar face....
IT’S THE Z-MAN TOM ZENK!
Tom Zenk is no stranger the fans in Eastern Canada and they’re on their feet as Z-Man and Martel hit the right to bring the fight to the Garvins. They brawl for a few minutes, before order is restored with Gorgeous Jimmy and Zenk starting off. Z-Men then works over the neck of Jimmy for several minutes and nails a series of snap suplexes to weaken him. Z-Man pulls Jimmy Garvin his feet and sends him off the ropes and connects with a running cross-body splash.
Tom Zenk now makes the tag to his partner Ricky Martel, who comes in and lifts Jimmy Garvin his feet, but Jimmy Garvin rakes the eyes. Jimmy Garvin then makes the tag to his brother, Ronnie Garvin! Ronnie comes into the ring and knocks Rick Martel over with a big clothesline. Ronnie Garvin lifts Rick Martel into the air and then drives his back down on his knee in a brutal backbreaker. The Garvins make quick tags to work over Rick Martel for several minutes and seem to have the former World Heavyweight Champion on the ropes.
Finally, Martel is able to hit a big forearm out of nowhere and makes the hot tag to his partner, Tom Zenk! Both members of the Garvins hit the ring and begin brawling with Tom Zenk. Soon a tired and hurt Rick Martel joins the fray and we have a big brawl. These four men are ignoring the referee’s instructions and brawling all over the ringside area. Finally, referee Teddy Long throws this match out as a No Contest. Officials, prelim wrestlers and others flood the ring to eventually separate these four men.
Winners: No Contest
We go backstage now to Joe Pedicino who is standing by with Owen Hart.
Joe Pedicino: ‘Owen, later tonight you will take on the Canadian Heavyweight Champion Dino Bravo. It’s a big match - are you ready?’
Owen Hart: ‘I’ve been ready my whole life. I trained in the Dungeon with my father and my brothers since I was a child. I respect Dino Bravo, he’s a great champion. I think there’s a new generation rising in professional wrestling, and I intend to prove it tonight.’
Joe Pedicino: ‘This big match is coming up! We’ll be back right after this break with International Tag Team Champions the Rougeau Brothers.’

Larry Matysik: ‘We’re back fans and in the ring now are the International Tag Team Champions Armand and Raymond Rougeau.’
The camera pans to the aisle with as a woman makes her way down to the aisle with none other than Alofa Fatu and the Great Samu. We saw these two having a very heated discussion two weeks ago.
This woman grabs the microphone: ‘Two weeks ago, you saw these two men - these two cousins - at each other’s throats. Luckily, Samu finally listened to sense and are now they're together under my employ. The woman you see before you is professional wrestling’s manager of the ‘90s. Bobby Heenan? Jim Cornette? Gary Hart? Never let a man do a woman’s job. My name is Madusa and these two - Samu and Fatu - are my Samoan SWAT Team!’
INTERNATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
THE ROUGEAU BROTHERS VS. THE SAMOAN SWAT TEAM
As soon as Madusa finishes her announcement, Samu and Fatu brutally attack the Rougeau brothers and throw Raymond out to the floor. The Samoan SWAT Team sadistically double-team Armand Rougeau, connecting with vicious headbutts across the back. Samu shoots Armand off the ropes for Fatu to clobber the youngest Rougeau with a savate kick to the chin! Now, both Samoans hit the top rope and connect with simultaneous flying splashes across the upper and lower body! Devastating! Samu covers and it’s an automatic three count! We have new champions!
Madusa grabs the titles as the crowd sits utterly stunned. The manager is ordering her SST to continue the assault so they drop double headbutts across Armand’s chest. The Samoans are stomping the hell out of Armand, and now here comes Raymond! Raymond is holding his own here but the numbers game get the better of him. Thank goodness Jacques Rougeau hits the ring too. Now the two older Rougeaus are brawling with the SST! Madusa grabs her Samoans by the hair and drags them out to the floor. The new International Tag Team Champions and Madusa snatch their belts and head off.
A pall has been cast over the Coliseum. Armand Rougeau isn’t moving and his older brothers are clearly very concerned. Eventually medics arrive in the ring, load the lifeless Armand onto it and rush him off to the dressing room.
Winners: *NEW* International Tag Team Champions Samoan SWAT Team
Milt Avruskin: ‘The fans here are stunned. I am stunned. I’ve never seen anything like what we’ve just witnessed. These Samoans have seriously injured Armand Rougeau. Let’s… let’s just take a break.’

Joe Pedicino is standing by with Freebird Michael P.S. Hayes and International Heavyweight Champion Terry Gordy.
Joe Pedicino: ‘Firstly, I’d like to extend my best wishes to the Rougeau brothers after the brutality we just saw.’
Michael P.S. Hayes: ‘Speak for yourself, fatso. My only problem with it is that myself and my big brother here didn’t get to do the damage ourselves!’
Joe Pedicino: ‘Please, Michael! Now, getting down to business, we all heard the big announcement earlier of the pact between International Wrestling and All-Japan. The Great Tenryu is on the way to Canada to put his PWF and United National Heavyweight Title on the line against Terry Gordy!’
Michael P.S. Hayes: ‘First of all, the Freebirds don’t respect much but we do respect the rasslers over there in All-Japan. My big brother has gone toe-to-toe with them and they’re tough as hell. They’re not as tough as my big brother though! Tenryu, you’re flying a long way just to lose!’
Terry Gordy: ‘Tenryu, I know first hand how tough you are. That brainbuster of yours is mean, man! It’s mean and nasty and it hurts like hell! But Tenryu, you ain’t gonna get that brainbuster on me. Yer lookin’ at the International Heavyweight Champion and soon enough I’m gonna have your belts too.
‘I told the world that no so-called world champion is brave enough to face Terry Gordy. Hogan’s a coward. Flair’s a coward. Rude’s a coward. But I give you credit Tenryu - you’re brave enough to get in the ring with me. I respect ya… but I’m damn sure gonna hurt ya!’
Joe Pedicino: ‘A very intense Terry Gordy! Fans, let’s go down to the ring.’
ANGEL OF DEATH VS. 'THE PUNK ROCKET' IAN FURY
Eddie Creatchman leads his massive Angel of Death down to the ring for a bout against the promising rookie Ian Fury. The rookie tries to land a few strikes on AOD, who no-sells them and pie-faces the kid down to the canvas. A fazed Fury stumbles to his feet and is booted right across the face. Now, Angel reaches down and grabs Ian Fury by the throat, but Ian kicks him twice. Fury sputters to his feet and tries striking with side kicks to the stomach. Fury lands some shots and then hits the ropes for a cross-body. Angel of Death catches him in mid-air and drives him down into a backbreaker. AOD then clamps on a clawhold and it’s only a few seconds before Fury goes limp. An admirable performance from Ian Fury, but he falls to the monstrous Angel of Death.
Winner: Angel of Death
Larry Matysik: ‘One lesson learned - beware the Angel of Death! We’ll be right back.’

Joe Pedicino is standing by with a very fired up Rick Martel and Tom Zenk.
Joe Pedicino: ‘Earlier tonight, we saw these two men in a wild brawl with the Garvins. I understand you’ve asked and been granted a rematch next week here on International Wrestling.’
Rick Martel: ‘How does it feel, Garvins? You’ve been double-teaming me since you got here to Canada. No more! Myself and Tom showed you we’re ready for a fight. We won’t stop until we send you back to the USA!’
Tom Zenk: ‘Ricky, you’ve got a partner to watch your back now. Garvins, your days of back-jumping and cheap shots are over. We started kicking your butts this week and we’ll finish it next week!’
Joe Pedicino: ‘It’s main event time! Let’s go back to the ring.’
TV MAIN EVENT: CANADIAN HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
DINO BRAVO VS. OWEN HART
Owen keeps control early on and he manages to hit a side suplex that almost puts Dino Bravo away. However, Dino Bravo is canny enough to duck a clothesline and he turns around to drill Owen with a tackle. Dino with the cover and he almost gets the three, but Owen Hart somehow is able to kick out! Dino Bravo grabs Owen by the hair and slams him head first into the turnbuckle a few times and then connects with a brutal elbow to the forehead.
The force behind the blow causes Owen to soar backwards and crash into the canvas, and Bravo is right on top of him with some stomps! Dino Bravo then hits the rope with a head of steam and goes for an elbow drop, but Owen rolls out of the way at the last minute! Owen pulls himself up and then kicks Dino Bravo on the back of the neck a few times, before scaling the ropes himself. The Canadian Heavyweight Champion slowly gets back to his feet and when he turns around, Owen flies off the top and connects with a flying clothesline! Owen stays on top for the cover and hooks the leg, but somehow Bravo is able to kick out just before the three count. Once Dino staggers up, Owen approaches from behind and locks in the sleeper hold! However, Dino Bravo charges forward towards the turnbuckle, and he manages to duck down just in time and Owen smashes his head into the top turnbuckle!
Bravo makes the cover again here, but Owen Hart kicks out at the last second! Forgive the expression, but this kid has so much heart! Dino pulls Hart up, but Owen Hart catches him with some boots to the stomach. However, Dino lands a knee to the gut and then another elbow to the back of the head. The Canadian Heavyweight Champion hits the ropes here and he connects with a Harley Race-style high knee to the chin! Owen flies backwards and he is trying to shake off the effects of that blow to the head, but Bravo quickly shoots him off the ropes! Dino makes a fatal error here as he ducks down for a backdrop, but Owen leaps over top of him. Bravo turns around and catches a dropkick to the chin!
Dino Bravo is dazed as he slowly pulls himself to his feet. Owen Hart has climbed the top rope and he’s perched. Bravo turns around and Owen sails off with an incredible spinning heel off the top rope! Owen just drilled Bravo here and he coves for the one… two… three! We have a new Canadian Heavyweight champion!
Dan Kroffat and Chris Benoit are out to celebrate with Owen as he’s handed the belt after the match. Dino Bravo is up now, and he stares down the trio. Dino then grabs the title from the referee and hands it to Owen Hart. Hart and Bravo shakes hands and then then the celebration for the new generation continue.
Winner: *NEW* Canadian Heavyweight Champion Owen Hart
