Thanksgiving Special Thursday 11-24-87
New Orleans Lakefront Arena

1. 'Iron' Mike Sharpe fell to 'Hangman' Bobby Jaggers' swinging neckbreaker. (9:41).

2. Bob Armstrong lost by count out to Bob Orton Jr. (6;55).

3. Mr. Olympia (TV Champ) went to a 15-minute time limit draw with 'Living Legend' Larry Zbyszko w/mgr. Baby Doll.

4. 4 Man Tag Team Match. 'Big' Scott Hall & 'Bruisin' Brian Adams beat King Kong Bundy & Ken Patera when Adams pinned Patera who accidentally collided with Bundy. (14:10).

5. 4 Man Tag Team Match. Junkyard Dog & Rocky Johnson lost to Don Carson's Mongolian Stomper & Killer Kahn when Kahn karate choped Johnson in the throat. (17:10). After the match, a wild brawl erupted with JYD getting his chain & laying out both Kahn & Stomper.

6. UWF World's Women's Title Match.(Champ): Wendi Richter used an inside cradle to pin (Chall): Luna Vachon w/advisor Baby Doll. (If Wendi wins, she gets 5 minutes with Baby Doll). (10:34). Wendi got a few punches on Doll when Vachon hit her with a chair. Luna & the Doll cut off some of the champs hair when New Orleans popular heel (here anyway) Sherri Martel hit the ring & quickly put some hits on Luna & Baby Doll. Richter was helped to the back by Martel.

7. UWF World's Heavyweight Title Match. (Champ): Dick Murdoch defeated (Chall): The Spoiler with the brain buster. (18:52). (Spoiler's manager Gary Hart will be handcuffed to UWF President 'Cowboy' Bill Watts). After the match, referee unhandcuffed Hart & Watts as the Sheik & Abdulla come ringside & ambushed the 'Cowboy' from behind. Then they went after Murdoch who was battling Hart (who tried to choke out Dick with a coat hanger) & Spoiler. Brody & Hansen soon hit the ring & helped clear house. Bill had to be helped back to the dressing room.

8. UWF World's Tag Team Title Match. (No Diq! No Time Limit!). (Champs): 'Bruiser' Brody & Stan 'Lariat' Hansen by count out over (Challs): Abdullah the Butcher & The Sheik w/mgr. 'Playboy' Gary Hart in a wild brawl all over the Arena. Spoiler came down to help but Murdoch caught up with him to send him back to the dressing room.

9. 20 Man Battle Royal! $25,000 Purse! Pin fall or over the top rope rule. Junkyard Dog won the battle royal, eliminating Dick Murdoch. Order of finish Brody, Bundy, Patera, Hall, Abdullah, Johnson, Mr. Olympia, Orton Jr., the Sheik,Adams, Jaggers, the Spoiler, Hanseon, Armstrong, Stomper, Kahn, Zbyszko, Sharpe.

I like the team of Bryan Adams and Scott Hall quite a bit. Also nice to see JYD get a big win in the battle royal.

The crowd would have loved JYD'S win. He still would have been a popular guy in the UWF. Murdoch makes a very good, Watts-like, no nonsense Champion. Keep up the good work.
