WWF Prime Time Wrestling
LIVE on the USA Network
10/10/1987
Memorial Auditorium
Utica, New York
Vince McMahon: ‘Welcome everyone to the all-new WWF Prime Time Wrestling. I’m Vince McMahon - joining me as always Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura.”
Jesse Ventura: ‘We’re live here in New York, Jack McMahon! The Body is looking good - and we’re in the final stretch towards Saturday Night’s Main Event!”
Vince McMahon: ‘This Saturday night in the Meadowlands on NBC, it will be World Wrestling Federation Champion the Million Dollar Man putting the gold on the line against ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper. Andre the Giant will be in action - and it’s just been signed, Hulk Hogan will team with Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts against the Twin Towers! What a lineup!”
Jesse Ventura: ‘I always know the Chump Hogan was a dummy - but even I never thought he’d be dumb enough to step into a ring with Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts as his PARTNER against Akeem and the Beast from the East!”
Vince McMahon: ‘I have to admit I’m surprised myself - but we’ll show exactly why The Hulkster has agreed to this mega-tag team match later tonight. And then from there, we’ll meet a new World Wrestling Federation superstar - Bad News Brown! In this very ring, we’ll also have the Hart Foundation against the Nasty Boys! Right now, let’s go down to the ring!”
WWF Intercontinental Championship:
Ultimate Warrior (c) vs. Iron Mike Sharpe
As the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion charges down to ringside and shakes the ropes, the camera pans to a massive Ultimate Warrior fan going wild at ringside:
Once the match gets under way, Iron Mike Sharpe tries to lock up with the Warrior - only to be tossed back into the corner like a ragdoll. Sharpe tries to attack now, but Warrior absolutely no-sells everything Iron Mike tries. Even the loaded forearm doesn’t phase Warrior, who rocks Canada’s Greatest Athlete with a head-butt.
Ultimate Warrior hurls Mike Sharpe off the ropes and clotheslines him out of his boots. Warrior pulls Sharpe up, hoists him over his head, presses him three times and then slams him down to the canvas. Warrior hits the ropes and connects with the big splash. Warrior with the cover for the three count! Ultimate Warrior shakes the ropes after the match and gives a big thumb’s up to his rowdy fan at ringside.
Winner: WWF Intercontinental Champion Ultimate Warrior
(Sean Mooney is standing by Mr. Perfect and Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan)
Sean Mooney: ‘Joining me at this time is the leader of the Heenan Family, Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan and his newest client Mr. Perfect.’
Bobby Heenan: ‘That’s right Mooney. The Heenan Family is stronger than ever, and it’s growing. The Eighth Wonder of the Wonder will be in the ring at Saturday Night’s Main Event. This man next to me is the future of the WWF. There are a great wrestlers in the WWF, but there’s only one Mr. Perfect.’
Mr. Perfect: ‘That’s exactly right, Bobby. All I’ve been hearing is how impressive the World Wrestling Federation superstars are. Well, now Mr. Perfect is here and nobody can measure up to absolute perfection. ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper? ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage? Hulk Hogan? None of them are perfect. All they have to do is step into the ring to find that out!’
(Mr. Perfect spits out his gum and swats it away)
Sean Mooney: ‘Mr. Perfect is certainly not lacking in confidence. We’ll be right back!’

Vince McMahon: ‘Let’s go back to WWF Superstars this past weekend to re-live the heinous attack by the Twin Towers on one Hillbilly Jim.’
[VTR]
WWF Superstars (10/8/1987)
- joined in progress -
‘The Doctor of Style’ Slick is directing traffic as Akeem and Bam Bam Bigelow double-team Hillbilly Jim as referee Joey Marella frantically calls for the bell to be rung.
Vince McMahon: ‘This is disgusting! The Twin Towers had no business out here - why attack Hillbilly Jim?’
Jesse Ventura: ‘I love it, McMahon! I love it!’
Bam Bam Bigelow and Slick have Hillbilly laid out as Akeem hits the ropes - 747 splash across the chest! Akeem rolls away and now he’s up - another 747 on the way! Akeem bounces off the ropes - and he connects! Hillbilly Jim’s ribs might be broken after this savage assault!
The crowd are on their feet now -
IT’S HULK HOGAN!!!! THE HULKSTER’S IN THE HOUSE!!!!!
Hulk Hogan rushes to the ring and he drills Akeem! Hogan drills Bam Bam Bigelow! And now, Hogan has The Doctor of Style cornered! Hogan grabs Slick by his tie, and the Doctor of Style is begging for mercy from the Hulkster here!
From behind, Bam Bam Bigelow lowers the boom with the double sledge across the back. Hogan fires back with an elbow, but Akeem attacks now as well. The Twin Towers are now double-teaming the Hulkster in the corner. Not for long!
IT’S JAKE THE SNAKE!!!!!!
Jake Roberts hits the ring and he spins Akeem around, rapid fire punches to the faces. The Snake winds the arm and short-arm clothesline for the African Dream. Bigelow and Hogan are brawling now as well! All four men are at war here in the ring, until a dozen officials and prelim wrestlers hit the ring.
Slick calls his Twin Towers off as Hogan now tends to the fallen Hillbilly Jim, who is clutching his ribs in pain. Hogan looks over to Jake the Snake and nods. Roberts nods back.
[End VTR]
(‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund is standing by with Jake ‘the Snake’ Roberts and Hulk Hogan)
Gene Okerlund: It’s a sight nobody ever thought we’d see - Hulk Hogan and Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts standing united in the ring! This Saturday night against the Twin Towers, you two will have to trust one another. Can you do it?
Hulk Hogan: Well you know somethin’ Mean Gene, for me, it’s not a matter of trust. The Hulkster can always be trusted, dude. I’ve had wars with this man, Jake the Snake, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend! These Twin Towers, I’ll never let them get away with what they did to the #1 Hulkster, Hillbilly Jim. So whether, I go in the ring with a partner or on my own, The Hulkster has revenge on his mind!
Jake Roberts: I understand the skepticism. Trusting the Snake is never a wise option. A snake naturally strikes at anything, it doesn’t understand the concept of friendship. Hulk Hogan is not my friend, he never will be. Hulk Hogan doesn’t need me as a friend either. Like he said, what we have in common is our enemies. Akeem, Bigelow, Slick, you made this personal by jumping me three-on-one. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, the Twin Towers will face the power of Hulkamania and the wrath of the DDT.
Hulk Hogan: What’cha gonna do, Twin Towers, when the largest arms in the world and the venomous snake… run wild… ON YOU?!
(We now go back to the ring, where the Conquistador is standing ready. Howard Finkel then introduces his opponent)
‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper vs. Los Conquistador #2
The bagpipes are still sounding in the Memorial Auditorium as Piper rips off his T-shirt, throws his kilt aside and then charges Conquistador. Piper is relentless as he barrages Conquistador with rights and lefts, then hurls him over the top rope. Conquistador rolls under the ring, and immediately… rolls out on the opposite side?! Conquistador slides back into the ring and attacks Piper from behind.
The bewildered Rowdy Scot boots the masked man in the gut and then slams him to the canvas. Piper hits the ropes with a big knee drop across the chest. Conquistador rolls out to the floor and again scurries under the ring. From the other side, the Conquistador rolls out immediately and this time Piper sees it happen. Now Piper rolls out and he climbs under the ring! After several seconds, Piper emerges with a second Conquistador by the mask.
Roddy Piper throws him into the ring as a confused referee Joey Marella looks on. The other Conquistador tries to attack, but Piper boots him. Now, he cracks both Conquistadors’ heads together. Piper looks one in the sleeper hold and it’s not long before he’s out! The Hot Rod just beat both Conquistadors, despite their trickery. Having eyes in the back of his head will probably use again this Saturday night against WWF Champion the Million Dollar Man.
Winner: ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper

Vince McMahon: 'Jesse, up next we have a brand new WWF superstar. What can you tell us about Bad News Brown?'
Jesse Ventura: 'As the esteemed journalist that I am, I’ve done some digging. Not only is the man Bad News Brown a judo champion, he’s also a street fighter from Harlem. I wouldn’t mess with him. I think his opponents are in for a world of hurt.'
Vince McMahon: 'Let’s see Bad News Brown in action.'
Bad News Brown vs. Pedro Morales
Bad News stops several times on his way to the ring to threaten fans who are reaching out to him. Brown hits the ring and looks incredulous when former WWF Champion Pedro Morales tries to shake his hand. Bad News boots him and then goes to work on Morales. Pedro fights back with some chops, and Brown bails to the outside.
Pedro goes out after Bad News Brown, who kicks Morales in the stomach and then throws him into the steel guardrail. Brown then slams Morales on the floor. Bad News tosses Morales back into the ring and goes for an elbow drop. Pedro Morales slides out of the way. The former WWF Champ rallies back and connects with a discus punch.
Bad News Brown hits the ropes but fires back with a right hand of his own. He scoops up Morales and slams him to the canvas. Now, Bad News Brown is signaling for the end and he connects with a leaping enziguri kick to the back of the head once Morales stumbles up. That’s all she wrote as Bad News Brown covers for the three count. An impressive debut for the man from Harlem!
Winner: Bad News Brown
(‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund is standing by with ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper on the platform stage)
Gene Okerlund: 'We are five days away from the Million Dollar Man putting the World Wrestling Federation Championship on the line once again against this man, the Hot Rod, ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper. Roddy, last time Andre the Giant interfered, but he’s been banned from ringside for the rematch.'
Roddy Piper: 'First things first Mean Gene. See, I still got a headache from the Giant ringing my bell at SummerSlam. If you think this is over between me and Andre, you got another thing coming, man. As far as I’m concerned, it hasn’t even got started yet between you and me, big man.'
Gene Okerlund: 'But this Saturday night, you have the Million Dollar Man. Even though Andre is banned, Ted Dibiase will have Virgil in his horner. You never know if Bobby Heenan will be lurking as well.'
Roddy Piper: 'I think you saw a little earlier than I can handle myself just fine when the odds stack up. I don’t got me a lot of friends, but you know, there is one guy around here who might just have the Hot Rod’s back. Dibiase, Boobsie, I’ll keep you guessing on just who that is. Let me tell you this, Dibiase, you’re in trouble. You got an angry Hot Rod whose bell is still ringing, man. This ain’t just about the belt anymore. I want to kick your a…'
Gene Okerlund: 'Oh my goodness, stop right there Roddy Piper! We’ll be right back!'

Vince McMahon: 'It’s pick ‘em time, Jess! The Hart Foundation will battle with the Nasty Boys one more time. Who’s getting the win?'
Jesse Ventura: 'I might just surprise you McMahon. The Nasty Boys have the Harts so fired up - and with the Hitman and the Anvil, that’s never a good idea. I think the Hart Foundation might just settle the score!'
TV Main Event:
Hart Foundation vs. Nasty Boys
Anvil and Jerry Sags start off this grudge match. Jerry Sags is taunting Anvil as Neidhart chuckles a bit, so Sags hauls off and decks Neidhart in the face with a right hand. Anvil swings back around and drills Jerry Sags with a boot, but to his credit, Jerry Sags is back up fighting rather quickly. Sags and Anvil are actually going toe-to-toe and Jerry Sags sends Anvil off the ropes and catches him with a shoulder block that knocks the Nasty Boy. Knobbs is tagged in and he leaps into the ring from the outside and gives Anvil a big elbow drop across the chest. Brian Knobbs pulls Anvil to his feet, but Anvil grabs a hold of Knobbs and lifts him into the air and then slams him down to the mat, before tagging in the Hitman.
Bret Hart comes in and dropkicks Knobbs as the crowd cheers and then connects and belly-to-belly on Sags, who has entered the ring illegally. Knobbs attacks from behind with a knee and Bret is hunched over in pain. Knobbs gives him a running knee lift, before tagging his partner Sags into the match. Jerry Sags takes advantage and works over the Bret, only for Hart to reverse-whip him right into partner Brian Knobbs! The Hart Foundation then connect with the Hart Attack and Hitman covers for the three count. A big win for the Harts!
Winner: Hart Foundation
