Bill Mercer and Rod Trongard open the show.
Trongard, “Coast to coast, continent to continent, border to border, the USWA is on the air. Bill, we are two weeks away from the State Fair of Texas.”
Mercer, “Yes we are Rod, and that means the Cotton Bowl. We will talk about the big shows, and we have more matches to add. One will feature the WWA Title, and we will see the Champion, Bob Orton, in our main event. The veteran takes on Steve Simpson. Let’s get thing started with Marc Lowrance.”
Match #1
Bill Dundee vs. The Destroyer
The veteran “Superstar” from Australia takes on the mysterious masked man. The Destroyer starts fast. He uses all the illegal moves in his bag of tricks. Dundee survives, and finishes things with a piledriver.

Handicap Match
Kamala w/Sheik Adnan el Kaissey vs. Mike Reed and Manuel Villalobos
Jungle drums lead Kamala to the ring. Reed and Villalobos will work as a tag team. They have a good plan, tagging in and out, hitting and running. Kamala is patient. Finally, he flaps both men in the corner, and savagely beats them. He pins both men with a big splash.
Winner-Kamala
Marc Lowrance is with the Fantastics.
Lowrance, “With me are the World Tag Team Champions. Gentlemen, you meet the Freebirds at the Cotton Bowl. You beat them once, but it won’t be easy to do it again.”
Fulton, “Marc, everyone knows how good the Freebirds are. Hayes has a big mouth, but he backs it up. Tommy and I know what we are up against. We won these titles for the fans, and we’re going to keep them for the fans. It won’t be easy, but we’re going to give it our all!”
Rogers, “Just like Bobby said, we won these for the fans, they backed us and we paid them back. These titles are staying with the Fantastics!”
Lowrance, “Let’s see the World Champions in action.”
Match #3
Non-Title Match
The Fantastics (World Tag Team Champions) vs. Nick Busick and Pete Sanchez
The Champions receive a huge ovation from the Ft. Worth crowd. Fulton starts for the Fantastics. Sanchez starts for the other side. Pete tries to overpower Fulton, but Bobby is ready for it. He uses his speed, and takes control. He tags in Rogers. Tommy continues the exciting action. Busick enters, and tries his hand, Rogers uses a sunset flip for the three count.
Winners-The Fantastics
Match #4
Dino Bravo w/Frenchy Martin vs. Brad Rheingans
The Canadian strongman takes on the U.S. Olympian. Rheingans takes Bravo down and wrestles him. He gets a two count, and suddenly Martin is worried. Brad stays on top of Dino. Bravo starts to fight back. Now Rheingans is in retreat. Bravo hits the side suplex for the win.

Mercer, “Welcome to the studio ladies, and gentlemen. We are two weeks away from the big Cotton Bowl show. The State Fair of Texas and professional wrestling have a long history together. 1987 will be no difference. Remember, your wrestling ticket gains you entrance into the fairgrounds. Here’s what we have scheduled.
In a ‘Brothers vs. Brothers’ tag team match, the Rougeau Brothers take on the Simpson Brothers
For the WWA Title, Bob Orton defends against Baron Von Raschke
For the Texas Title, Rick Martel meets Iceman King Parsons
For the American Heavyweight Championship, Jerry Blackwell challenges Mr. Saito
The Fantastics, the World Tag Team Champions, defend against, the former Champions, the Fabulous Freebirds
Tonight, we can add one more match. Phil LaFleur will defend the World Light Heavyweight against, a newcomer to the USWA, the popular and exciting Tim Horner
And in the main event, Kerry Von Erich defends the World Championship against Terry Gordy.
This will be one of the greatest afternoons in wrestling history, do not miss it!”

Kerry Von Erich (World Champion) vs. Sonny Rogers
We hear,
And the World Champion comes to the ring, and the Coliseum crowd goes crazy. Kerry will face Terry Gordy at the Cotton Bowl. That may be his toughest test as Champion. The game Rogers will put up a good fight. Kerry is very sharp. He goes from move to move, and the momentum builds. Kerry uses the discus punch for the win. The Cotton Bowl match will be one for the ages.

The Angel of Death w/Sheik Adnan el Kaissey vs. Buck Zumhofe
The massive Angel is ready for action. Zumhofe gets a loud ovation, and he’ll need all the help he can get. AoD traps the Rock and Roller in the corner, and works him over. The Angel begins to choke. Referee David Manning counts, but AoD breaks at four. Zumhofe puts up a good fight, but the Angel is too much. He uses a powerslam for the win.

Marc Lowrance is with Bob Orton.
Lowrance, “With me is, the WWA Champion, Bob Orton. Mr. Orton, you have held the title for several weeks. You have defeated all comers in the Midwest. Now, tonight you face Steve Simpson, and if you win, you meet Baron Von Raschke at the State Fair.”
Orton, Simpson is a long haired, pretty boy, hippie, but he can wrestle. It won’t be easy, but I’ll beat the punk. Then it’s on to old man Baron. I’ll beat him, and probably end his career!”
Lowrance, “The Champion is very confident.”

WWA Championship
Bob Orton (Champion) vs. Steve Simpson
The veteran vs. the youngster. Simpson is a house afire. Two quick arm drags, and a dropkick, send Orton to the floor to regroup. The Coliseum ringsiders argue with the veteran from Kansas City. Orton returns to the ring. Simpson moves in, but Orton lands a boot to the midsection. Now the Champion is in control. He punishes young Simpson. Steve is very game, but Orton is too much. Orton hits a piledriver for the win.
Winner-Bob Orton

Trongard, “Bob Orton is an impressive wrestler. The WWA Title is in good hands.”
Mercer, “The match between he and the Baron will be a great one. Speaking of a great one, next week’s main event will be another great one. We know that Iceman King Parsons will challenge Rick Martel for the Texas Title at the Cotton Bowl. Next week, he meets Frenchy Martin’s new men, he takes on Eric Embry. Don’t miss this one!”
