Dutch Savage and Don Coss are seated at a table near the ring, in front of a backdrop with the Rocky Mountain Wrestling and USWA logos. Coss welcomes us to Denver, Colorado for ROCKY MOUNTAIN WRESTLING!
Coss runs down the matches that will take place on the show, including the ladies in action, and the feature match will see “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer take on the young man from Portland, Billy Jack Haynes.
Plus, Percival Pringle III will be talking with Magnum TA.
WINONA LITTLE HEART VS. HEIDI LEE MORGAN. Little Heart gets the win, connecting with a bodypress off the ropes for the 1, 2, 3.
“RAVISHING” RICK RUDE VS. DEAN MALENKO. Prior to the start of the match, Rude tells the men in the audience to zip it, so that their women can focus on him and see what a "real man is supposed to look like!"
Malenko pounces on Rude as soon as the Ravishing One removes his robe, and takes Rude down to the mat. Dutch Savage points out that Dean’s father, Boris Malenko, was one of the toughest opponent that he ever faced in his career, not only was Boris a vicious brawler, but he could wrestle when he wanted to, and it appears he’s passed that on to Dean as well, as Malenko has Rude on the mat and works over his leg and lower back.
However, when Dean goes for the Texas Cloverleaf, Rude is able to push him off, sending Dean chest-first into the nearby turnbuckle. Rude then goes on the offensive, and drops Malenko with a pair of vicious European uppercuts. From there, Rude puts the boots to young Dean. Rude pulls Malenko back up to his feet, but Dean stuns Rude with a straight right hand to the forehead, and another. Malenko then runs the ropes, but Rude follows him, and drives a knee into Malenko’s midsection, doubling him over. Rude delivers a suplex, planting Malenko flat on his back in the middle of the ring. From there, Rude pulls Dean up, and delivers the Rude Awakening neckbreaker! A 3-count later, and Rude gets his hand raised in victory.
Dutch Savage says that Malenko really showed him something here today, and he predicts big things in the future for Dean Malenko.
Coss and Dutch send us to Straight Shootin’ with Magnum TA.
Magnum introduces his guest this week, Percival Pringle III. Pringle addresses the boos from the fans, saying that he is from Alabama, he’s a Southern gentleman, and he has class, something these rednecks know nothing about! He says that they spend their days shovelling manure, and yet they have the audacity to come out here and boo him?!?! He says that these people, and this entire city, smell like a barn!
Magnum starts to respond, but Percy cuts him off.
Percy says that he’s not here to talk about these people, he wants to discuss something that actually matters. Percy says that last week, he made an offer to Steve Williams, he offered Williams the opportunity to be the cornerstone of the Pringle Dynasty, and the man that brings him the Rocky Mountain title. He says that Williams made a bad decision, but now he’s had a week to think about it, and he he knows that Dr. Death has realized the error of his ways, and is ready to accept his spot in the Dynasty.
This brings “Dr. Death” Steve Williams out.
Pringle is all smiles, and says that he’s glad to see Williams has made the right decision after all!
Williams tells Percy that he made the right decision . . . last week. He says that he gave Pringle his answer, he doesn’t need time to think about it, Doc says he wants nothing to do with Pringle or his so-called Dynasty, and then turns and walks off.
Percy is LIVID!
Magnum starts to ask him a question, but Pringle tells him to shut up, and goes on a tirade, saying that he was wrong about Doc, Williams is obviously an idiot, he is from Denver after all! He says that Doc could’ve joined him, and been a part of the greatest group in wrestling history, but now, Doc is public enemy #1 and Pringle is going to make sure that Williams’ career is a short one!
Back at the announce table, Duch Savage has a good laugh about what we just saw, and says that Percival Pringle is nothing but a loudmouth sissy, and says that if Pringle tries to go after Doctor Death, he will find himself in a world of hurt!
BUTCH MILLER (w/ Jonathan Boyd & Luke Williams) VS. JOHNNY GUNN. The Sheepherders are out in full force here, as Luke Williams and Jonathan Boyd accompany Butch Miller to the ring for this match. Miller overpowers Gunn right from the start, and things only get worse from there for poor Johnny. After spending a few minutes pummeling Gunn, Miller delivers a running kneedrop to the head of Gunn, leading to the pinfall.
Coss and Savage send us to the Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas, where Marc Lowrence is with the Fabulous Freebirds.
Lowrance, “With me are the ‘former’ World Tag Team Champions.”
Hayes, “Watch it Lowrance!”
Lowrance, “Alright, you have a rematch with the Fantastics, and Terry Gordy has a match with Kerry Von Erich for the World Title.”
Hayes, “Think about it Lowrance. Buddy and I regain the tag titles, and Bam Bam beats that fool, Von Erich, for the World Title. The USWA will have ‘Freebirds Fantasia’ running all over the world!”
Dutch says that the Fantastics, Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton, recently defeated the Freebirds for the World Tag Team titles, and the matchmakers here in RMW are working to bring them to the Rockies to defend the titles.
“MANIAC” MATT BORNE (w/ Percival Pringle III) VS. ART BARR. Barr shows plenty of potential here, but he’s still inexperienced, and makes a rookie mistake, putting his head down too early after shooting Borne into the ropes. Borne takes advantage, delivering a vicious kneelift, then puts the boots to Barr. Borne gets the win with a German Suplex bridge into a pin.
“HACKSAW” JIM DUGGAN VS. THE MISSING LINK. The fans are treated to a real slobberknocker here! These two throw the rulebook out the window, and seem perfectly content to just brawl. As the match progresses, Duggan eventually takes control, and connects with not one, but two running football tackles for the pinfall.
Dutch Savage and Don Coss say that Commissioner Blackjack Mulligan has an announcement regarding the Rocky Mountain heavyweight championship.
Blackjack Mulligan is standing backstage, holding a championship belt. He says that the USWA championship committee has put together an 8-man tournament, which will take place on October 22 in Casper, Wyoming. The winner of the tournament will be crowned the very first Rocky Mountain heavyweight champion!
Mulligan says that the only participants that have been confirmed so far are “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, “Ravishing” Rick Rude and Billy Jack Haynes. Blackjack says that the remaining five participants will be announced in the coming weeks, as well as other, non-tournament matches that will take place on the show.
“MAD DOG” BUZZ SAWYER (w/ Percival Pringle III) VS. BILLY JACK HAYNES. We only get about three or four minutes of this match before TV time runs out. Haynes has the upper hand as the show comes to an end.
As the match is going on in the ring, Coss and Savage wrap things up, and quickly hype next week’s show.
