He also reminded folks that Tennessee Championship Wrestling will be back here again next Friday night, so be sure to pick up your tickets while you’re here tonight. And he once again reminded folks to be sure to tune into WKPT TV-19 at midnight tonight to see themselves on TV when tonight’s matches air. He then introduced the first match of the evening….

Tennessee Championship Wrestling
Broadcast on WKPT TV-19 at 12:00am
Friday night August 05, 1987
Hosted by Les Thatcher and Joe Pedicino
Up in the balcony, Les Thatcher and Joe Pedicino ran down tonight’s card for the television viewers at home, reminding them that tonight’s main event is the big cage match for the Tennessee Title with “Nature Boy” Buddy Landel defending against Doug Furnas, and Ron Fuller will be on the outside holding the key to make sure Ron Wright can’t interfere. We’ll also see “Pistol” Pez Whatley in action, as well as Mark & Chris Youngblood, and Tim Horner tries to end the undefeated streak of the dangerous Botswana Beast here tonight. Let’s go to the ring…
Match 3: “Pistol” Pez Whatley pinned Cactus Jack Manson at 8:20 after a sit down butt splash.
He was met at ringside by Michael St. John who said it’s great having Pez here in Tennessee. Pez said it was great to be here, and all these jive talkin’ guys who like to break the rules and get away with it better look out, ‘cause the Pistol is on the loose, and he’s takin’ names and kickin’ booty daddy! He then high fived some fans as he headed to the locker room and St. John threw it to commercial break.

Match 4: Tim Horner vs. The Botswana Beast
The Beast stalked Horner, but Horner used his speed and quickness to elude him and tried to employ a “stick and move” strategy. That worked fine until the Beast got his hands on him though. He beat him down with chops and thrusts. He dropped him with a powerslam before bounding off the ropes with a huge splach…but he refused to pin Horner at that point. He lifted him from the mat and whipped him chest first into the turn buckles and then followed him in with a running avalance! Horner fell to the mat clutching his ribs in extreme pain as Beast seemed to salivate. He kicked Horner to the center of the ring where he delivered yet another huge splash. He went for the cover, but again pulled Horner up at two. He looked ready to inflict more damage until Pez Whatley ran to the ring in his underwear! He looked wet and had shampoo still in his hair as he fired off against the stunned Botswana Beast! He unloaded to 4 big right hands and the Beast tumbled between the ropes to the floor as the crowd went wild! He stood over Horner protecting him as Michael St. John announced to the crowd that Botswana Beast has won the bout by DQ. Time of match was 7:07.
Pez was helping the medics check out Horner as the show went to commercial break.

Out of the break, and Thatcher and Pedicino wanted to remind all the viewers at home, that the only way to see ALL the matches is to come out to the Johnson City Rec Center live every Friday night. He reminded folks that the matches you see here on television every Friday night are just a part of the great matchups each and every week! As he was wrapping up with that thought, they were joined at the set in the balcony by Ron Fuller. Fuller said that he was glad to see Pez Whatley come out and help Tim Horner in that situation. It reminds him of just a couple of weeks ago when he had seen all he could stand as he watched Ron Wright and Buddy Landel bloody Doug Furnas with that big black glove and had to do something about it. He said that tonight, Furnas finally get’s his fair shake at the Tennessee belt, and he’ll make sure of it as he is the one on the floor guarding the door, and he dares that fossil Ron Wright to try him just one time, and he’ll put his size 15 cowboy boot right where the sun don’t shine!
Match 5: Mark and Chris Youngblood defeated Thunderfoot 1 & 2 when Mark came off the top with a Tomahawk chop on #2 for the pinfall at 10:00
Afterwards, they were joined at ringside by Michael St. John. Mark and Chris said they are excited every week to be here in Tennessee, and they look forward to moving on up the ladder here. St. John said that next week, they have a really tough test in front of them as they square off against Downtown Bruno’s MOD Squad, Spike and Basher. Chris said that they are ready for the challenge, and if Bruno tries to stick his nose in the match, they’ll chop it right off for him.

Up at the set in the balcony, Les and Joe were joined by The Southern Boys. Joe congratulated them on their big win last week and sending Tatum and Victory out of the area. Tracey and Steve thanked him but said they still have a lot of work to do here, as there are a lot of bad people who still need a lesson, and mentioned The MOD Squad, The Rock & Roll RPMs, Ken Wayne, Buddy Landel, and Rip Rogers all as guys they have their eyes on.
Match 6: Tennessee Title Cage Match:
“Nature Boy” Buddy Landel vs. Doug Furnas
Furnas dominated early, and Landel looked like he kept wanting to escape out of the cage, but Furnas kept pulling him back down. Landel took over later on though with a well placed thumb to the eye, and then controlled Furnas, wearing him down. Furnas got a second wind though and came firing back. He gave Buddy a drop kick and then sent him into the cage, busting him open. Ron Wright started going crazy on the floor. He wanted to get in and help Landel, but Ron Fuller was guarding the door. Wright tried to throw a loaded glove over the cage, but Fuller stopped him. Wright was causing such a commotion, that Ron Fuller motioned for security to come remove him from ringside. Three guards started over, and as two of them tried to get ahold of Ron, the third one nailed Ron Fuller from behind and put the boots to him. The guard then layed out the other two security guards from behind. He took off his hat and shirt and revealed himself to be JIMMY GOLDEN! He took the cage door key from Ron Fuller and unlocked it, climbed in and pearl harbored Doug Furnas from behind, drawing a disqualification at 11:13. He and Landel put the boots to Furnas, but Ron Fuller pulled himself together on the floor and went into the cage and starting teeing off on both Golden and Landel. Ron Wright entered the cage and nailed Fuller in the back of the head with the loaded glove. Golden and Landel then put the boots to both Fuller and Furnas while Ron Wright went back and locked the cage door. He gave a pair of handcuffs to Landel, who secured Furnas to the top rope with them. With no one to help him, Golden and Landel put quite a beating on Commissioner Ron Fuller. Landel locked on a figure four leglock while Golden stomped away at the leg locked in the hold. Finally, the Southern Boys and Corporal Kirchner scaled the cage and saved him. Wright unlocked the door, and he, Golden and Landel left with their arms raised high over head as the show went to commercial break.

Out of the break, and in the balcony at the set were Wright, Golden, and a bloody Landel. Wright and Landel were quite gleeful, but Golden looked to be all business. Les Thatcher was quite disgusted and asked Jimmy Golden why on earth he would do that to his own cousin, saying that Golden and Ron Fuller are family!
Golden: “Les Thatcher, you wanna know why I just done that?! Well lemme tell you brother…for years….FOR YEARS…I’ve been in the rasslin’ bidness, I’ve seen good times and Ive seen bad times. When the bad times come along, I’d call up my cousin Ron Fuller…my family…my blood…and say Ron, I need a job bad brother! And ol Ron, always a business man, would say “Jimmy, times are tight right now and business is down, I just can’t afford to let you come in”. I’d beg him…the man would make me beg him…I’d say please cousin Ron…I’m starving…my wife and kids are starving…just let me rassle and make some money. But he’d say business is down. RON FULLER….MY OWN FLESH AND BLOOD…WOULD PUT MONEY AHEAD OF FAMILY DADDY! BUSINESS IS DOWN HE’D SAY. WELL LET ME TELL YOU SUMTHIN RON FULLER…BUSINESS WAS DOWN AT MY HOUSE TOO, AND WHEN I NEEDED YOUR HELP, YOU PUT MONEY AHEAD OF FAMILY!!!. So Les Thatcher, that’s exactly what I done here tonight. Ol Jimmy Golden finally got smart and put money ahead of family. Mr. Ron Wright called me and said you aint gonna believe what your cousin Ron Fuller is doing. He said if he could find a man to take care of Ron Fuller for him he’d pay a king’s ransom. I told Mr. Ron Wright that I knew a man who would be happy to take care of Ron Fuller for him. I come here tonight, and that’s exactly what I done too brother. I took care of Ron Fuller the way he took care of me….I KICKED HIM WHILE HE WAS DOWN AND I PUT MONEY AHEAD OF FAMILY. AS FAR AS I’M CONCERNED, THESE TWO MEN RIGHT HERE ARE MY FAMILY NOW!!!
Ron Wright then jumped in happy as a fool and said he told Ron Fuller to stay out of his business, and tonight, he learned the hard way!
The three of them left together as a disgusted Les Thatcher and Joe Pedicino wrapped it up for tonight, reminding everyone to come out to the matches live next Friday night at the Johnson City Rec Center, and we’ll have info on the condition of Ron Fuller. Goodnight everybody!
Michael St. John urged everyone to stick around for the last bout of the evening….
(dark match)
Match 7: The Southern Boys def. The Moondog and Norvell Austin at 12:20 with a double savate kick on Austin.
End show.
