LANCE: Hello, everybody, and welcome to another big program of Championship Wrestling! Lance Russell along ringside with Dave Brown! Dave, some big action coming our way this week!
DAVE: That's right, Lance! Terry Funk is here in a single match and the rest of the Double Cross gang is in our expiration of time in a six man tag against the Texas Broncos and young Chris Benoit!
LANCE: And there's no love lost between the Double Cross Gang and the Broncos!
DAVE: We also have the new World tag Champions, Bad Company, in a non-title match against Mike Graham & KokoWare. Superstar Bill Dundee is here. P.Y. Chu-Hi is here in a tag team match with Killer Khan as his partner. We'll also see Shane Douglas in action. We'll also have a lot of interviews and features as well...
LANCE: Sounds like a great time for the fans watching at home! There's also something coming up called “The Last Showdown” that we'll hear about! We'd better get in some commercial messages before we get started. The Double Cross Gang is scheduled to join us when we return!
COMMERCIAL
LANCE: I'm here with the Double Cross Gang: Terry & Dory Funk, Cowboy Bob Orton, & Dutch Mantel!
TERRY: Lance, you were at the Mid South Coliseum this past week. Tell these people the truth for once in your life! I laid the so called “King of Wrestling” out and left him on the floor like the sorry egg sucking Tennessee dog that he is! I'm ready to end this thing, Lawler! This Monday, it's come down to the Final Showdown! You and me in a steel cage! No DQ! No time limit! Barbed wire around the top of the cage so none of your buddies can climb in! Texas Death Match! My family's specialty! The match that mine and Junior's pa invented! And if I can't beat you and win your title, I'll pack my bags and you will never see me in the CWA again!
DORY: That's not all! Today, right here on TV, Dutch, Bob, and myself have got three young punks to teach a wrestling lesson! There's this Canadian boy Benoit. There have been some tough Canadians, Jos LeDuc and Gene Kiniski are two that come to mind. This Benoit kid is more of a gymnast than a wrestler! Son, you might just get grounded today!
MANTEL: Texas Broncos, you ain't nothin but two skinny drugstore cowboys! The Cowboy and me have whupped your tails all over the territory, but you just keep coming back for more!
ORTON: Gluttons for punishment!
DORY: Their daddies were like that! I wrestled both of them when I was world champion and too'em in two straight falls!
ORTON: This is gonna be a great week! We're gonna win the six man tag today and, on Monday night, the King is going down!
TERRY: I've got a young punk waiting in the ring for me right now! Lawler, what I do to this punk is on your head! This is what I have in store for you!
Terry Funk takes on Alan West in this week's opener. West gets off to a fast start, but Funk's experience wins out and the wild Texan takes control! Funk piledrives West and gets disqualified! That doesn't faze Funk in the least! As his older brother applauds from ringside, Terry piledrives West again! Now, Jerry Lawler runs in! The King batters Terry Funk with rights and lefts, knocking him out of the ring! Dory enters and gets flattened by a Lawler right hand! Dutch Mantel and Cowboy Bob Orton come to ringside! The Double Cross Gang surrounds the ring! The Texas Broncos, Chris Benoit, & Koko Ware run in to stand by the King's side! There's a staredown briefly, then the Double Cross Gang retreats. Terry Funk stops by to speak with Lance...
TERRY: In the cage, at the Final Showdown, there won't be any disqualification, Lawler! Your buddies won't be able to help you Monday night!
Lawler stalks over to the interview position and Funk heads for the dressing room!
LAWLER: That's it, you goof! You don't have a chair or a branding iron or your goon squad so you take off like the gutless wonder you are! Monday night, it's all over! I'm running your butt outta town, Funk! Then, I can concentrate on giving matches to guys who really deserve it more like Dundee, Street, LeDuc, Perez, Douglas and Condrey!
LANCE: If I were you folks, I'd get to the nearest ticket outlet and buy my ticket as soon as Championship Wrestling goes off the air!

P.Y. Chu-Hi & Killer Khan destroy Bill Mulkey & Chris Carter. Khan pins Mulkey with the Oriental Spike, a hold that lance & Dave question the legality of.
LANCE: OK, right now we have P.Y. Chu-Hi's former partner, Dennis Condrey! Dennis, you wrestled Chu-Hi last week and Killer Khan got involved.
CONDREY: OK, Phil Hickerson or whatever you wanna call yourself, if you want to get Khan involved in your business, that's ok! I went to Eddie Marlin and asked for a tag team match! You and the Mongolian can bring it on! I went out and found a partner! Not long ago, I went after the Mid-American title. I figured that the young guy holding the belt wouldn't be much trouble! Well, needless to say I didn't get the title! What I did walk away with was a lot of respect for the kid who was the champion at the time! His name is Shane Douglas and he's agreed to be my partner!
Shane Douglas walks out and shakes hands with Condrey!
DOUGLAS: Dennis, you earned my respect, too! I realize that our opponents are two big, bad dudes, but with my speed and scientific wrestling and your experience and toughness, I think we can take them!
CONDREY: Shane, it's gonna be great to actually have you on my side! Chu-Hi and Khan, we've got some moves that you can't handle!

LANCE: We're back and I have the Southern Champion Exotic Adrian Street, Miss Linda, and a masked man....
STREET: This man is the greatest wrestler in the United Kingdom today! He's a longtime friend of Linda's and mine, the Royal Executioner! This week, the Executioner and I have Bill Dundee and his partner in a match! Dundee, you made a fool of yourself by trying to take my title last week! Now, the Exexutioner and I will thrash you and your partner, whoever he is!
LANCE: Dundee is in the ring for our next match!
STREET: (holding up title belt) Look at this lovely pink belt, Dundee! It will never be yours!
Superstar Bill Dundee defeats Keith Eric, pinning him after a “bombs away” splash off the top rope.
LANCE: Good looking win for the Superstar! Billy, come on over. I'm sure you heard Street out here earlier...
DUNDEE: Yeah, I came too close for comfort last week, didn't I, Street? I almost took the title so now, ya want a tag team match! You've got some guy under a mask and yer hidin behind him! Well, I got a partner and he wants you even worse than I do, Street! Take a look at the videotape!
VTR:
Jeff Jarrett , dressed in a suit and tie, is standing in an office.
JEFF: Hey, everybody! It's been awhile since you've seen me. To be honest, I was kind of ashamed to show my face after what happened last time I wrestled Adrian Street! Well, you're all about to see me again! Bill Dundee, of all people, contacted me and asked me if I'd like a chance at some payback against Adrian Street! Street has brought in some tough guy from England and Bill needs a partner! I asked my dad if I should trust Dundee. Dad said that when Dundee is focused on an opponent like he's focused on you, Street that is all he thinks about! Dundee and me have had our problems, but we're gonna fight you guys just as hard as we fought each other! Street, I can guarantee you one thing! I'm coming at you fist and fire! There's no way that you and that tramp of yours will put makeup and a dress on Jeff Jarrett again!
DUNDEE: Lancer, have you ever seen anybody so fired up in yer life? Street, you and yer masked buddy had better be ready for a fight 'cause the Superstar and Jeff Jarrett are comin after ya!

CWA World Tag Champs Bad Company(Pat Tanaka & Paul Diamond)(w/Paul Jones) take on Mike Graham & Koko Ware in a non-title match. Graham's mat wrestling combined with Ware's high flying give the champ's a lot of trouble. Jones has to interfere to seal the victory for his men as Tanaka pins Graham after a thrust kick to the throat. After the match, Bad Company & Jones join the rest of Paul Jones' Army alongside lance Russell...
RUSSELL: Well, a tainted win for the champs, but you have to admit Paul “Number One” Jones has put together an impressive group....
JONES: Lance Russell, there was nothing tainted about that victory! Not only do we have the World Tag Team Champions, but we also have the Mid- America Champion and uncrowned World Champion, “the Latin Heartthrob” Al Perez! The most powerful man in wrestling, the Candian Freight Train, Lumberjack Jos LeDuc, and, our newest addition, the Fabulous One, the great Steve Keirn!
LANCE: Uncrowned World Champion?
PEREZ: Lance, Lawler and Funk are good and whoever wins Monday night will be a great champion, but their best days are long gone! Look at this body! Look at this marvelous athlete who stands in front of you! Do you honestly believe that the so called “King” measures up?
LANCE: Well, it's professional wrestling and not a beauty show or bodybuilding contest! A lot of good looking guy have came in here bragging and wound up flat on their back!
PEREZ: There's never been anybody quite like the Latin Heartthrob, Lance Russell!
LANCE: Well, maybe you should concentrate on the contenders for that Mid-America Title! Men like Tito Santanna!
PEREZ: Chico Santanna tried me last week and got his tail kicked!
LANCE: You guys have made quite a few enemies. Jos LeDuc, you're definitely on Austin Idol's bad side after that arm wrestling match last week!
LEDUC: Austin Idol, go ask your friend Tommy Rich what happens to people who mess with Jos LeDuc! You think you are the ladie's pet! When I get through with you Idol, you'll be uglier than I am and no lady will even look at you!
LANCE: Steve, how did you get involved with this?
KEIRN: Just look at this group of athletes! This is where it's at, Lance Russell! There's a reason Paul Jones is called “Number One”! And the one and only Fabulous One is part of his Army now!
JONES: If Koko Ware and Mike Graham don't like how that match ended, we'll give'em a rematch at the Coliseum this week! Right, boys?
TANAKA: Any time, any place, any team!
COMMERCIAL
LANCE: OK, before our expiration of time six man tag team match, we're gonna talk to the Universal heartthrob himself, Austin Idol!
IDOL: Lance, there's a HUGE match coming up this week, the Final Showdown! The King against Terry Funk for the CWA World Title! I know the fans here and all over the CWA will be cheering for the King! And he is a great champion and I know he'll make us proud in that cage! There's just one problem, Lance Russell! You see, the last time that I wrestled Jerry Lawler, there was a stipulation that if he won, I couldn't wrestle him for one calendar year! Well, King, one year has come and gone! I've had one of the most incredible won/loss records in the entire world! I deserve a title match and you know it, Jerry! After you kick Terry Funk's butt, I'm gonna take my place at the front of the line! I'm pulling for you to win, Kingfish, because it would mean more to me if I could beat you for the World Championship!
LANCE: That would be a great match, but the King has to survive the Last Showdown this coming week before he can even think about a match with you, Austin! Davey, let's go to the ring and get the introductions!
Double Cross Gang members Dory Funk, Jr., Cowboy Bob Orton, & Dutch Mantel take on Chris Benoit & the Texas Broncos (kendall Windham & Sam Houston). Benoit and the Broncos start fast and keep the three veterans off balance for several minutes. Windham bulldogs Funk and scores the pin as the studio crowd pops huge! Lance and Dave say they'll check the time to see if we can get any more action in...
COMMERCIAL
Turns out we've got enough time! Sam Houston misses a dropkick early on and the Double Cross Gang takes full advantage by isolating Houston and working over his leg. In spite of the fans screaming encouragement, Houston ends up submitting to Funk's spinning toehold to tie the match at one fall apiece!
COMMERCIAL
As the third fall begins, Terry Funk and Jerry Lawler come to ringside. Finally, both Lawler and Funk get involved in the action and we've got a pier six brawl that rages as TV time runs out!

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN:
(Texas Death Match for the CWA World Title inside a steel cage, no DQ. If Funk loses, he leaves the CWA! )
After the construction of the cage, Terry Funk rode to the ring on a black stallion. Funk entered the ring and the door was locked by Jerry Jarrett.
As the crowd watched in awe, Jerry Lawler was lowered from the top of the Coliseum into the cage! Funk removed the harness, his cape, crown, and title belt and was immediately attacked by Funk! Funk slammed Lawler facefirst into each side of the cage before piledriving him for the pin in under two minutes!
After a 30 second rest period, referee Jerry Calhoun tolled the count. He got to 9 before the King used the ropes to get to his feet!
Funk went to work on Lawler's leg in the second fall and pretty well dominated the action. After working the King's leg for several minutes, Funk went for the spinning toehold. Lawler kicked him off and sent Funk facefirst into the cage! Funk came off the cage, reeling and glassy eyed! Lawler alertly rolled him up for a three count!
Funk was still groggy, but easily answered the 10 count. At first it looked like the King was in control, but Funk went right back to work on the leg. Lawler made a comeback, but when he went for a bodyslam, his leg went out and Funk landed on top of Lawler for the pin.
Lawler's leg was obviously bothering him, but he got on his feet by the 9 count. After thnext fall begins, Funk tears into the King like a savage! After about 5 minutes of battering the King from pillar to post, Funk attempted to run Lawler's face into the cage...Lawler reversed! Lawler then landed a fistdrop to score the 1-2-3!
During the rest period, Dory Funk, Jr. ran down to ringside and began yelling encouraging words to his brother! Dory was carrying Terry's branding iron so referee Jerry Calhoun gave him a stern warning. Funk easily beat the ten count and the match began again!
Funk takes control after the bell rings and soon had the King in trouble. After about 5 minutes of this, Lawler pulls down the strap and goes to town! Dory sees Terry is in trouble and tosses the branding iron over top of the cage and into the ring! Funk grabs the branding iron! Funk swings the branding iron at Lawler! Jerry moves out of the way! The branding iron hits the top rope, rebounds and hits Funk in the face! Funk is reeling! He drops the branding iron and staggers forward! Lawler piledrives Funk! Lawler covers! 1...2....3!!!!!
During the rest period, Dory is shaking the side of the cage and yelling for Terry to get up! The rest period is over and the ref counts! 1...2....3...4...5...6...7....Terry is stirring...8...9....Funk tries to get up, but collapses...10! JERRY LAWLER WINS THE LAST SHOWDOWN!
