‘Big’ John Tena vs. Nikolai Volkoff
Dutch Savage’s latest PNW prospect is Vancouver native, LSU amateur wrestling standout and sumo superstar John Tenta. The friendly Tenta shakes hands with fans around ringside, but grows angry when Nikolai Volkoff tries to sing the Soviet national anthem. Tenta won’t stand for it and drills Volkoff with a clothesline across the back. Tenta scoops up Volkoff and then squashes him with a running splash off the ropes. The big man covers for a shock win in under a minute! As John Tenta celebrates with fans around ringside, a groggy Volkoff complains to the referee.
Winner: ‘Big’ John Tenta (0:47)
International Light Heavyweight Title
Fire Cat vs. ‘British Bruiser’ Johnny Smith
Quite a shift in style from the last match, as these two show off their innovative aerial offense. Dean Malenko is out once again to watch the match, as these two battle to a time limit draw.
Winner: Time limit draw (15:00)
PNW TV Champion Nord and The Grappler vs. ‘Wild’ Bill Irwin and Bad News Brown
This is the debut of Bad News Brown in the Northwest, and he doesn’t look interested in being in a tag team match at all. He totally blanks Irwin as Wild Bill tries to talk strategy before the match begins, and then does most of the brawling himself. Nord and Bad News have quite a brawl, until Irwin tags himself in by slapping Brown across the back.
Bad News Brown is none too pleased, and his anger only grows when Nord hurls Irwin into him moments later. Bad News has had enough - he sucker punches Irwin and then boots Nord! Now, Bad News Brown is walking out on this match! What an auspicious debut for the real 'Ultimate Warrior'. Irwin tries to hold his own, but he’s put away with a flying knee drop by PNW TV Champion Nord.
Winners: Nord & The Grappler (9.02)
PNW Tag Team Champions
Sheepherders (w/ Butch Miller) (c) vs. ‘Maniac’ Matt Borne and ‘Mad Dog’ Buzz Sawyer
A bit of counter-interference backfires on the Sheepherders early. After Buddy Rose managed to trip up Lord Jonathan Boy coming off the ropes behind referee Bill Afonso’s back, Butch Miller was caught trying to do the same to Matt Borne. Bill Alfonso has no choice but throw Butch Miller out of the ringside area - to many boos from the crowd.
Sawyer and Borne are one of the most dangerous tag teams in the sport today, and they nearly win the PNW Tag Team titles back when the Maniac comes off the top rope with a flying elbow drop across Lord Jonathan Boyd’s chest. Ever the schemer, Buddy Rose once again manages to cheap shot Lord Boyd behind the referee’s back once again. The fans are soon on their feet because look who just hopped the railing:
IT’S THE CRIPPLER RIP OLIVER!!!!
We haven’t seen The Crippler since he was double-crossed by Rose three months ago! Buddy Rose doesn’t see the Crippler coming as Oliver double sledges him from behind! Rip Oliver is choking Rose now and sends him head-first into the steel guard rail. The Playboy is bleeding! Borne and Sawyer are tied up in the ring with the Sheepherders, and now Oliver throws Rose into the ring! Referee Sandy Barr has no choice but to throw this out as Oliver and the Sheepherders send all three members of the Rose Army plowing into each other! Rose rolls out to the floor and runs away, as Sawyer and Borne stumble away looking angry.
In the ring, Rip Oliver gets on the microphone and promises that he is dedicating his career to running Buddy Rose out of the Northwest for good! Butch Miller is out now as Oliver turns to the Sheepherders and tells that them that the only way to dismantle the Army is with the Clan. Oliver offers his hand - and Lord Jonathan Boyd shakes it! Oliver’s Clan is back - and that’s bad news for the Buddy Rose Army!
Winners: Double disqualification (14.00)
INTERMISSION
‘Superfly’ Jimmy Snuka vs. ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude (w/ PP III & ‘Mean’ Mark Callous’
The Superfly has been a thorn in the side of Rick Rude’s rise to the top of the heap here in PNW, previously handing Rude his only pin-fall loss in a tag team match. Snuka is on top of his game here, rocketing himself over the top top rope with a plancha on Rude, Callous and Pringle early on as Rick Rude and Percy Pringle talked strategy.
Snuka keeps the control here, with a series of chops turning the Ravishing one’s chest beat read. Rude fires back with some rights and a knee to the gut. Rick Rude then pulls Snuka into a Rude Awakening neck-breaker, but the Superfly slips out. Rude turns right into a savate kick from Snuka. Jimmy Snuka climbs up top, and he connects with the Superfly Splash! He stays on top for the one...two… three! Pringle is shocked as Snuka just pinned Rude right in the middle of the ring!
After the match, a dizzy Rick Rude is berated by Pringle and he gets sick of it after a minute or two. Rude collars Pringle, only to be decked from behind by ‘Mean’ Mark Callous! Callous lays Rude out with a sidewalk slam, until Snuka hits the ring with a steel chair once again to run off Pringle and Callous. Jimmy Snuka offers a handshake to Rick Rude, only for the Ravishing one to storm off on his own.
Winner: Jimmy Snuka
PNW Heavyweight Champion
Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig (C) vs. The Canadian
Dutch Savage has touted the masked Canadian as a regional champion from our neighboring country from the north. Hennig scoffs at having to face a ‘nobody’ and initially demands that the Canadian just lay down and accept his defeat. However, the Canadian tries to keep up with Hennig through chain wrestling and doesn’t get very far. Hennig continuously taunts the Canadian as he traps him on the canvas.
In the final moments, the Canadian stuns Hennig by poking him in the eye! Quite a change in tactic as the Canadian then unloads with a series right hands, and then a short-arm clothesline! Referee Sandy Barr warns the Canadian as he pulls as stunned Hennig into a pile-driver! The Canadian with a quick cover for the three count! What a shocker! The Canadian just made the strangest comeback ever and won the PNW Heavyweight Title.
Hold on, the Canadian is handed the PNW Heavyweight Title and he whips off his mask:

Grudge Match
Billy Jack Haynes vs. Dr. Death Steve Williams
These two can’t wait to tear into each other, with Doc rocking Haynes with a series of elbows to the face. Billy Jack fires back with a series of right hands and then sends Doc off the ropes and connects with a big back-drop. Billy Jack is all over Doc and is pounding away, but Williams turns the momentum over and begins hammering on Billy Jack. Doc gets to his feet and kicks Haynes right in the face and the sends him into the corner, where he lands some vicious forearm shots to the chest.
Dr. Death and Billy Jack spend the majority of the match trading offensive runs, but just when it looks like Billy Jack is down and out, he always makes a comeback and keeps fighting. Doc manages to move out of the way of a Billy Jack shoulder-block and then Dr. Death begins working over the fallen Haynes.
Dr. Death goes for a knee drop, and he manages to hit two of them in a row. Dr. Death lets out a growl and then goes for a third, but Billy Jack manages to move out of the way. Billy Jack rallies back to his feet and catches Doc with a belly-to-belly suplex and almost gets the three count, but Dr. Death manages to kick out at the last possible second! Billy Jack is right back on him and he sends Doc flying to the mat with a gorilla press slam on the big man and goes for the cover, but Dr. Death once again kicks out at the last possible second.
The crowd goes wild as Billy Jack locks Dr. Death in the Full Nelson and really wrenches back on it, but Williams is refusing to submit. To his credit, Doc is showing a lot of fight because he is refusing to submit. Doc manages to latch onto the top rope and yank down on it, causing Haynes to lose his balance. As Billy Jack drops Dr. Death, Dr. Death crashes onto referee Sandy Barr, who had been closely checking to see if Doc would submit.
Now all three men in the ring are down and none of them are quick to get to their feet. Doc is up and he tries to grab Billy Jack, but Haynes nails him with an elbow to the stomach. Billy Jack hits the ropes full-team, but Dr. Death boots him hard right in the groin! Come on! What a cheap shot! Haynes is doubled over, as Dr. Death now scoops him and plants him with the Stampede! Dr. Death now drags Sandy Barr over for the one… two… no!! Billy Jack got the shoulder up!
A stunned Dr. Death now puts his hands over his face, wondering what he has to do to put Haynes down for the count. Suddenly, fury washes over Doc’s face as he pulls Haynes up, hoists him in the air - Doctor Bomb! Doctor Bomb! Doctor Bomb! We’ve only seen Steve Williams bust out that vicious move once before here in PNW! Dr. Death with the cover now for the one… two… three! It took a low blow, a Stampede and a Doctor Bomb, but Dr. Death gets his hand raised here - but will Billy Jack let this go?
Winner: Dr. Death Steve Williams (22:17)
