Lowrance, “Hello Chicago! Welcome to the ‘Firecracker Spectacular’! We are so happy to be here. Let’s not waste any more time, and we’ll get things started.”
Match #1
The Steiner Brothers vs. Rip Morgan and The Kiwi Assassin
The young Steiners, Rick and Scott, were both standout wrestlers at the University of Michigan. The rugged team from New Zealand will be a stiff test. Scott, the younger brother, starts with big Rip Morgan. Morgan tries to trap Scott on the corner. Steiner absorbs the punishment and fights his way out. Scott hits a side suplex, and tags in Rick. He works over Morgan until Rip is able to tag in the wild Kiwi Assassin. He takes the fight to Rick, but Steiner loves the fight. Rick uses a bulldog for the win.

Tennessee Championship
Buddy Landell (Champion) vs. Brad Armstrong
Landell struts around the ring, and the Chicago crowd takes an instant dislike to the bleached blond. Armstrong, a second generation wrestler, starts quickly. He takes the Champion down, and out wrestlers. Landell leaves the ring to regroup. He argues with the ringsiders. Buddy returns to the ring. He pulls out all the illegal moves. Brad is tough, but Landell covers him, uses the ropes for leverage, and referee David Manning counts the fall.

The Rougeau Brothers w/Frenchy Martin vs. The U.S. Express
Frenchy Martin has brought the Rougeaus, and their anti-American rhetoric to the USWA. The Battens are former tag team champions, this will be a good matchup. Brad and Jacques open the contest. Batten uses his speed to control the action. Rougeau is frustrated. He backs Brad into the corner, and he and his brother work over Batten. Bart tries to help, but referee Rick Hazzard intercepts him. This allows the Rougeaus to dish out more punishment. Brad escapes, and tags in his brother. Bart looks good for a while, but the Rougeaus take over. They win with the Rougeau bomb.

Six Man Tag Team Match
Sgt Slaughter, Baron Von Raschke and Jerry Blackwell vs. The Angel of Death, Kokina Maximus and a “Mystery Wrestler”
Slaughter’s team and referee Marty Miller wait in the ring. Sheik Adnan brings the Angel of Death and Kokina to the ring. He grabs the mic from Marc Lowrance.
Sheik Adnan, “Slaughter, Blackwell, Baron, you will suffer the might of...Kamala!”
Kamala, with Friday, comes to the ring. AoD starts things with Von Raschke. The German veteran pulls out all of his tricks, but the muscular Angel takes over. He tries to tag in Kamala. The “Ugandan Giant” still seems confused by tag team wrestling, but he comes in the ring, and chops away at the Baron. Von Raschke is able to tag in Slaughter. Sarge goes to work on Kamala. Sheik Adnan shouts instructions from ringside. Kokina tags in. Blackwell begs to tag in. His face is still marked from the fire thrown by the Sheik. Sarge tags him in, and it’s on! Both big men pound away. Blackwell is able to scoop up Kokina he slams the big Samoan. He goes for the cover. Slaughter and Von Raschke cut off AoD, and Kamala. Marty Miller counts the fall! A big win for the good guys!

Jumbo Tsuruta (Champion) vs. Hiroshi Wajima
Two stars from All Japan Wrestling come to Chicago. Tsuruta is one of the best in the World. Wajima is a former sumo star, and an up and comer in professional wrestling. Wajima goes right after the Champion. He uses his size to control the action, and Tsuruta is in trouble. Wajima body slams Jumbo. He covers him, but the Champion kicks out at two. Wajima tries to whip Jumbo into the ropes, but Tsuruta reverses it. He backdrops Wajima, and now Jumbo is in control. The match goes back and forth until Tsuruta positions himself for the belly to back suplex. He bridges, and referee David Manning counts three.

World Light Heavyweight Championship
Steve Simpson (Champion) vs. Masanobu Fuchi
Fuchi is a very skilled light heavyweight. Simpson has become a very popular young man. Simpson goes right after Fuchi. The Japanese star counters, and we have a wrestling match. Fuchi gets a two count with a roll up. Simpson kicks out, and goes right after the Challenger. They go back and forth until Steve hits a flying bodypress for the win.

Marc Lowrance is in the ring with Fritz Von Erich and Verne Gagne.
Lowrance, “Chicago, how about how this show?”
The crowd cheers loudly.
Lowrance, “With me are two of the legends of the sport. Fritz, first to you.”
Fritz. “Thank you Marc. The USWA, again, provides the best in wrestling action, and we aren't done yet. Now, I want to introduce a man who needs no introduction, Mr. Verne Gagne.”
The crowd goes crazy again.
Gagne, “Thanks Fritz, it’s great to be here. I have been semi-retired since the USWA got started. I’ve watched it, and it is the finest wrestling action I’ve ever seen.”
Lowrance, “Fritz, I know you, and Verne, have something to announce.”
Fritz, “Yes we do Marc. Verne has agreed to accept the position of ‘President Emeritus’ of the USWA. He has a wealth of wrestling knowledge, and will be called upon, by me, for special assignments.”
Gagne, “Thank you very much Fritz. I feel I still have a lot to give to the sport I love, and I am very happy Fritz asked me to help. Now, let’s stop talking, and get back to the action.”
Lowrance, “That’s what we would expect from the former World Champion.”

Texas Championship
Iceman King Parsons (Champion) vs. Rick Martel w/Frenchy Martin
Martel has definitely changed his attitude. He arrogantly struts around the ring. The fans love Parsons, and he looks ready to go. David Manning is your referee. The bell rings, and both men go to work. Martell is still a skilled wrestler. He and Parsons exchange holds and counter holds. Iceman grabs the edge, and now Martel is frustrated. He takes Iceman’s eyes, and now the French Canadien is in control. He drives a fist into Parsons’ face, and the Champion is reeling. The Chicago crowd gets behind Parsons and he rallies. He goes to the top rope and hits a flying bodypress. Martel uses the momentum, to reverse the cover. He grabs the tights, and Manning counts the fall! We have a new Texas Champion! Parsons argues, but Martel and Martin celebrate with the Title.

World Tag Team Championship
The Fabulous Freebirds (Champions) vs. The Fantastics
This will be a good one. It will be Hayes and Gordy for the Champions. Both teams pace back and forth. Rick Hazzard is your referee. Bobby fulton opens up against Hayes. The lock up, and the crowd is into it. Hayes grabs a side headlock, but Fulton shoots him into the ropes. Michael goes for a shoulder tackle, but Hayes is the one who goes down. Fulton is in control. He whips Hayes into the ropes and slap on a sleephold. Gordy comes in and breaks the hold. This brings in Rogers and we have a pier six brawl. Hazzard gets things sorted out. Gordy tags in, and the big man goes after Fulton. Gordy roughs up Fulton, and Bobby is in trouble. He is able to tag in Rogers. Tommy uses his speed to combat Gordy. The go back and forth and end up battling on the floor. Hayes and Fulton slug it out on the other side. Hazzard is counting. At 18, Rogers dives back in the ring. Hazzard reaches 20! Gordy has been counted out! The crowd cheers loudly as the Fantastics stand in the ring. Hayes takes the mic from Lowrance.
Hayes, “Listen dummies! We don’t care if you win. We’re the Champions, and we’re going to stay the Champions!”
The Fantastics know this, but they also know they can beat the Champions.

Masa Saito (Champion) w/Sheik Adnan el Kaissey vs. Nick Bockwinkel
The tension is very thick. This is an “Old School” AWA matchup. These two veterans are two of the best in the business. Marty Miller is your referee. The bell rings and we are underway. Both men are cautious. They both know one mistake can cost them the match. They lock up, and Saito grabs a side headlock. He drives an open hand to Nick’s head. Saito drags Bockwinkel to the corner, and slams his head into the turnbuckle. He then begins to choke. There is no disqualification, so Miller can only watch. Saito is in control. He punishes Bockwinkel. He uses the no DQ rule to dish out more punishment. Bockwinkel is in deep trouble. The veteran goes for broke. He punches, and kicks, and now Saito is in retreat. Sheik Adnan goes crazy at ringside. Bockwinkel goes for the sleeper, but Saito blocks it. He grabs Nick, and hits a thundering German suplex. Saito is not finished. He hits to more German suplexes, and Bockwinkel is out. Saito covers Nick, and Miller counts the fall. Bockwinkel is out cold. Medical personnel come to the ring, and load Nick on a stretcher. Things look bad for the former Champion.

Indian Strap Match
Kerry Von Erich (Champion) vs. Wahoo McDaniel
Referee Bronko Lubich stands in the ring holding an Indian strap. Wahoo McDaniel comes to the ring, and the Chicago crowd boos loudly. Now we hear,
The World Champion comes to the ring. He is taking a big chance. This is Wahoo’s type of match, and Kerry will have to be on his game. Lubich explains the rules. To win the match you must drag your opponent around the ring, and touch all four corners. Bronko tries to attach the strap to each man. Wahoo balks at doing it. Kerry puts the bad mouth on McDaniel, Wahoo then takes a swing at the Champion. It is a struggle, but both men are attached. The bell rings, and a tug of war starts. Kerry is very strong, but so is Wahoo. McDaniel pulls Kerry toward him, and drives a knee to the mid-section. The wily veteran is now in control. He uses the strap to whip Kerry. You can hear the leather strike flesh. Wahoo now uses the edge of the strap to cut Kerry’s forehead. The blood is flowing. Wahoo now chokes Von Erich. The Champion is in real danger. Wahoo begins to pull Kerry around the ring. He touches one corner. He gets to a second, but Kerry won’t budge. Kerry now uses the strap to pull McDaniel to him. He rains blows on the Challenger. Kerry now uses the strap to open up McDaniel. Now both men are bleeding. The battles continues. Both me get to two corners. Kerry gets to a third, but Wahoo pulls him back. Kerry is unstoppable now. He hammers away at Wahoo. Kerry then clamps on the iron claw. Wahoo fights it, but he goes down. It looks like he is out. Kerry starts to the first corner. He slaps the turnbuckle...1! He drags Wahoo’s lifeless carcass to the next turnbuckle...2! Kerry moves to The next one...3! Wahoo still appears to be out. Kerry gets to the last corner. He slams his hand into the turnbuckle...4! Kerry Von Erich defeats Wahoo McDaniel!
