We return from break to see Brian Blair at the interview position with Kevin Wall. Blair says that it was great seeing all the fans that came out to support Central States Wrestling at the world famous Kiel. He wishes his match had turned out differently, but Adrian Adonis and Fit Finlay are great athletes, and that’s exactly what Blair was looking for when he came to CSW….
“Well, well, well, Wall. So is this loser the reason there is no time for YOUR tag team champions today?” ‘Ravishing’ Randy and ‘Precious’ Pat have a big laugh at that, but Blair certainly doesn’t find it funny. Randy says that Blair used to be tough, but since he got to CSW earlier in the year he has pretty much been a one-hit wonder.
Blair says that the Rose Cousins certainly have big mouths and talk real tough when it’s two on one! Pat says that they’re the SENSATIONAL Rose Cousins, and talkin’ tough is all they know! Matter of fact, how about next week, “’Precious’ Pat shows you just how tough a Rose Cousin can be?” Blair smiles, nods in agreement, and tells Pat that he’s on!
KW: “Well fans, we certainly have a big match scheduled for next week, but right now let’s get down to the ring for more action!”
Match 2
1 Fall 15 Minute Time Limit
The Freedom Fighters, Patriot and Eagle, really took it to their opponents, Jack Hart and the Raider in this one. The Raider and Hart displayed some good, tandem offense, but were unable to sustain any prolonged offense. Whereas the unique dichotomy between the Patriot and the Eagle kept them well ahead. The Eagle was able to put away the Raider with the Fujiwara Armbar at 7:02.

We return from break to see the General, Skandar Akbar, the new Central States Heavyweight Champion the Iron Sheik, the Great Tenryu, Boris Zukov, and the Brute at ringside with an obviously perturbed Wall and Superstar. “When you’re Devastation Incorporated, you don’t have to follow formats, Wall!” While Homecoming didn’t go exactly as planned as Backlund is still breathing, and not only is Orndorff still amongst the living, but he somehow managed to steal a victory for Boris. But that’s ok, because ya see, ruling this roost wouldn’t be near as fun if there wasn’t someone around believing they had a chance against Dev. Inc…
Here comes the former champion, Bob Backlund! Wall and Superstar aren’t so sure this is a good idea, but Bob says that this won’t take long. He knows how tough the Sheik is and can’t believe that he would resort to such tricks in a championship match! Backlund says that he and the fans want, no no, DESERVE to know just whom the better man is! “SO.. what do ya say, Sheik? You and me, no games, no tricks.”
Devastation Incorporated has a big laugh, well everyone except Tenryu that is. Akbar says that Backlund will get his rematch in due time, but he most certainly isn’t calling the shots around here anymore! Sheik jumps in and says he has an idea… If Bobby Backlund can defeat the Great Tenryu here today, then Sheiky will let him pick the date of his rematch… Akbar doesn’t like it, but has an epiphany, “we will go through with this, but Backlund if you want this, then when the Great Tenryu devastates you here today, you get NO REMATCH!”
Backlund quickly agrees…
Match 3

Interference from Downtown Bruno and his shoe backfired and Spike accidentally blasted Basher with it. Tidal Force double clotheslined Spike over the top rope and to the floor before hitting their Tidal Wave, side Russian leg sweep/dropkick finisher on Basher @ 9:36
After the bout, Fit Finlay and the Guerrero Brothers meet Kevin Wall at the interview desk. They discuss their big matches at Homecoming. Finlay says that Adonis must be the luckiest man alive to have survived Homecoming, but if it hadn’t been for that “slimy valet” Adonis never would’ve left the Kiel with Finlay’s television championship, and it will only be a matter of time before Finlay has his hands back on his title. The Guerreros say that they sure wouldn’t want that bad Irishman hot on their trail, just like there isn’t a tag team on the planet that wants Hector and Chavo on their trail, either!

We return from break to the set of the FLOWER SHOP w/”Adorable” Adrian, his personal valet, Lanny Poffo, and the heavy hitter, ‘Slick’ Chic D. Adrian would like to take just a few minutes to gloat, not only did *HE* single handedly rejuvenate this territory, but *HE* produced the first sell out at the Kiel in he doesn’t even know how many years! “So, Bob Geigel, Pat O’Conner, and Larry Matysik, you’re welcome…” Adonis says that he could go on, “and on, and on, and on,” about his greatness, especially after the way he handled the Three Way Elimination match for his TV title, but he must digress as this might just be the single most important episode of the Flower Shop to date!
The manager of champions, the Big Kahuna, Sir Oliver Humperdink makes his way to the set and thanks Adonis for the time, “as all the suits in the office have done everything they could do to keep the House of Humperdink from flying high here in the Central States area!” Humperdink says that his Samoan Swat Team has been deemed too “savage” for TV, but he knows that O’Conner is just scared of what will happen if Dink were to ever truly unleash them, “I would be in control around here!” But all of that is ok, it is all fine and well, because we are counting the moments until the House of Humperdink becomes the most unstoppable force in all of professional wrestling. The best athletes, paired with the best mind, will dominate any organization they step foot into. “So tighten your chinstraps boys, it’s about to be a long, looooong, hot summer! And you can believe that!”

Bob Backlund vs. the Great Tenryu w/Gen. Skandar Akbar
This one begins as the ultimate game of human chess. The American wrestler against the Japanese Sumo champion and Judoka. Each man displays uncanny agility for heavyweights, as well as a sense of balance that prevents their opponent from getting any kind of steady advantage. An overzealous Backlund charges right in after Tenryu, but pays the price as the former Olympic alternate stands his ground and forces Backlund face first into the turnbuckle! Tenryu goes on the offensive for an extended period, but Backlund displays the heart of a champion and refuses to be pinned. Tenryu even attempts his devastating Powerbomb, but Backlund flips out, goes behind, grabs a waist lock, pops the hips, WHAM! German suplex drops Tenryu on his head!
Akbar quickly jumps to the apron, and as Backlund chases him off, Tenryu rolls to the floor for some space….
BUT MR. WONDERFUL HOPS THE GUARDRAIL!!! He fires Tenryu into the ring post and rolls him back into the ring, Tenryu staggers to his feet, Backlund rolls him up with a schoolboy, 1…….2……………3!!!!!!!! Backlund has pinned Tenryu at 11:01!!!!
Orndorff, Backlund, and the fans celebrate as Akbar swears vengeance and we…
