World Championship Wrestling Reboot
“World 'Championship Wrestling” returns to TNT on December 28, 1996. The wrestling world is an ever changing place. WCW, with a history going back to the days of the Jim Crockett Promotion is no exception. The offices at One CNN Center have been bustling. Wrestlers have come and gone, and what remains, is one of the strongest rosters of stars in the sport. Fan favorites such as, Diamond Dallas Page, The Steiner Brothers, Lex Luger and ‘The Man Called Sting”. On the other side of the fence stand, the Public Enemy, Harlem Heat, Scott Norton, and three men known as ‘The Devil’s Triangle”. Bam Bam Bigelow, Sid Vicious and Big Van Vader have joined forces under the management of the beautiful, but deadly, Madusa.
One of the exciting innovations you will see wrestlers from all over the world competing in what is known as the “International Lucha Division". Lucha Libre is a style of wrestling made famous in Mexico. WCW will bring together men from Mexico, such as, Rey Misterio Jr., Psychosis and Konnan. Jushin “Thunder” Liger will be here from Japan, and there will be some surprises. The International Lucha Division will quickly become a fan favorite.
Monday, December 28, will be the debut of the new “Monday Nitro”. We will be at the beautiful Charlotte Coliseum beginning at 8:00 PM. The announce team of Tony Schiavone and Bobby “The Brain” will bring you all the action. The Title situations will be explained on that night.
Sunday night, January 24, will be our first big Pay Per View. We will be in Atlanta, GA, and the Omni, for “Superbrawl VII”. The action will be hot and heavy.
