Taped Friday 7/20/95 @ Carmicheal Arena in Chapel Hill, North Carolina Airs Sunday 7/22/95 on . . . . . Bob Caudle, Chris Cruise, and Dutch Mantell welcome us to World Wide Wrestling, the Major League of Professional Wrestling. And we have a huge show in store for you today. JJ Dillon the manager of champions is here with his Georgia Wrecking Crew team with Mr. Hughes to take on Bobby and Jackie Fulton, the Fantastics and their partner Scotty Riggs. As well as his protege' Marcus Bagwell who will be in today's main event against one half of the Success Express, Jim Powers. But first thing’s first, President of Jim Crockett Promotions, Mr. Jim Crockett, Jr. is here and has joined the broadcast team and with him is a very recognizable friend Jim Crockett, Jr says he is holding the recognized symbol of excellence in Professional Wrestling for the past decade, the World Heavyweight Championship. Jim Crockett Promotions has been dedicated to bringing the very best professional wrestlers to wrestling fans for 60 years, and that he has been in contact with many grappling greats to participate in the World Title Tournament that will be held Friday August 17th at the Greensboro Special Events Center. And at this time Mr. Caudle has a special interview with the first person signed to compete in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, and former champion . . . . . . Bob Caudle is with Ricky Steamboat who says its great to once again be working for Jimmy Crockett, and when Ricky was told that a new World Heavyweight Champion was going to be crowned in Greensboro then there was only one place to be on August the 17th, and Ricky knows that recapturing the title would be no easy feat, because he knows Jimmy Crockett is committed to bringing in the best athletes in the world for the great wrestling fans. Which is why the Dragon is in the best condition of his life and will be ready for any and everything come the 17th . . . Match 1 1 Fall 15 Minute Time Limit James Beard is your official Ricky the Dragon Steamboat defeats the Mercenary @ 5’33 with a flying body press from the top rope.. . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . We return to see James J. Dillon with the head of security Mr. Hughes and the Georgia Wrecking Crew, Brad and CW Anderson. Mr. Dillon says that if there is one thing that Jim Crockett and Bob Caudle know, and if there is one thing that the fans on TNT will find out quickly, its that when James Julius Dillon says something, you can take it to the bank. And Dillon understands that there will be a tag team tournament unfolding on television, culminating at that big show in Greensboro. JJ says that the name Anderson has gone hand in hand with tag team dominance in professional wrestling for 3 decades, and that his Georgia Wrecking Crew is just the latest in a long line of dominance. Brad, son of Ole, and CW nephew to Ole, Arn, and Gene have been high school champions, college greats, and are now ready to dominate the professional ranks. Add to that the head of security, former Kansas St and NFL star, Mr. Hughes Dillon Enterprises will not, can not, won’t be stopped! . . . Match 2 1 Fall 15 Minute Time Limit Mark Curtis is your official Mr. Hughes and the Georgia Wrecking Crew w/JJ Dillon vs. The Fantastics and Scotty RiggsThis one is hot and heavy from the opening bell. Scotty Riggs and Brad Anderson are back and forth all over the ring only for Scotty to be caught by a CW knee to the kidney’s and now the Anderson’s have Scotty in their corner tagging in and out working the shoulder of the youngster. The menacing Mr. Hughes comes in and slows the pace only to be outsmarted by the Fulton’s when Bobby distracts Mark Curtis and Jackie pulls Scotty to their corner much to the delight of the crowd. Now its the Fulton’s who have Mr. Hughes on the ropes with their high paced action but Mr. Hughes is no dummy and takes his first opportunity to slither out of the ring, over to JJ and back into the ring in his corner, and tags in CW Anderson. CW is built in the traditional Anderson mold and quickly goes to work on Jackie Fulton, getting a near fall after a beautiful spinebuster. CW as well as JJ have words with Mark Curtis sensing a hesitation in the count, but that is a mistake allowing Jackie to make the tag, and Bobby comes in a house of fire with right hands and dropkicks for all of JJ’s men, and it has erupted here at Carmicheal Arena! Bobby has CW reeling inside the ring but as Mark Curtis is escorting Scotty Riggs and Jackie Fulton out of the ring, Brad Anderson attacks from behind with JJ Dillon’s shoe! Which allows CW to plant Bobby with the Ghordbuster and earns his team the 1...2...3 @ 9’14. . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . The Crispy Cruiser is joined by Brad, Steve, and Scott the amazing Armstrong Brothers! Steve says that the one thing he has noticed already here in Jim Crockett Promotions is that there is alot of family around. Brad and CW Anderson, Jackie and Bobby Fulton as well as Ron and Don the Bruise Brothers, they are all here which is great because the Armstrong’s want to prove that they are the dominant clan in all of professional wrestling. And that next week in the first round of the World Tag Team Title Tournament he and Scotty plan on showing the Bruise Brothers just that. Scott agrees, says that he has been wrestling with his brothers his entire life and he knows with them watching his back he is in a win win situation. Brad chimes in and says that he has wrestled all over the world for over a decade now and that he is proud as a peach to be wrestling here. Brad says that while his brothers are entered in the tag tournament, he has his eyes set on his first World Heavyweight Championship, and while he hasn’t heard who his first round opponent will be they better be ready because he will be Chris Cruise sends it to the ring! Match 3 1 Fall 15 Minute Time Limit Randy Anderson is your official Dick Slater w/Mike Enos defeats The Golden Eagle by submission @ 4’26 with the Stump Puller. . . Slater and Enos, collectively known as Rough n Ready, make their way to the interview area where they are joined by Bobby Duncum, Jr where Dutch Mantell is standing by. Dutch says these three rough and tough hombres all have their sites set on World Title gold as well! Duncum has entered into the World Heavyweight Championship tournament and hopes that he gets Brad Armstrong in the first round because he knows he would beat him up just like his daddy used to do to the Bullet all over this country! And that it makes him sick to see guys like Ricky Steamboat out here pandering to the fans, kissing babies, begging for admiration. Duncum, Enos, and Slater aren’t those type of guys. They are ass kickers who beat their respect out of their opponents! Slater says that he has had alot of good tag team partners over the course of his career but none tougher than “Mean” Mike and that no matter who they have to beat up in the tag team tournament they will come out on top. With that, out comes Billy Black and Joel Deaton, the Wild Bunch. Joel says that he and Billy have been teaming together for a long while now and feel that they are ready for World Tag Team Titles. Joel says he can’t believe that Bobby didn’t call them when he decided to come to Jim Crockett Promotions, he mentions that Bobby Duncum and the Wild Bunch dominated ACW when they were there, left a trail of bodies in their wake. And then nothing Bobby leaves town not to be heard from again, so you can imagine how surprised they were to see Bobby out here. Joel and Billy have to know, what is the deal? Big Bad Bobby says the deal is he has traded up in life! He got the hell out of a bad partnership in ACW and was hoping to never see the Wild Bunch again! That Billy and Joel were holding him back, and now that he is running with the guys standing next to him now, nothing, and he means nothing will hold him back! Duncum says that he knows Billy and Joel aren’t the brightest crayons in the box, but they’d better listen up, and stay out of his face and they’d better avoid Rough n Ready like the plague. Duncum, Enos, and Slater turn to leave and Billy Black puts his hand on Bobby’s shoulder, before he can say anything SLATER DECKS HIM!Its a pier 6 brawl! Enos and Slater working over Billy Black, Duncum hammering on Joel Deaton. The Wild Bunch is in bad shape, its 3 on 2 and its not your average 3 its Rough n Ready, its Big Bad Bobby Duncum and they are showing the wrestling world why they are a such a feared trio! Joel gets posted and is lying motionless on the floor. Billy Black gets tossed in the ring and is now getting worked over by all 3 men! Enos has Black in the Boston Crab and Dickie Slater is relentlessly dropping elbows to the back of his head while Duncum stomps away with his cowboy boots. . . . FROM THE BACK ITS A CHARGING TERRY BAM BAM GORDY! Just as the Freebird hits the ring, Duncum, Slater, and Enos hit the bricks, but that doesn’t stop the Bamer! Gordy bum rushes all 3 men! Security finally breaks it up, but Terry Gordy is not backing down! . . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . Terry Gordy is pacing, and Chris Cruise looks like he is a nervous wreck. The Freebird says he doesn’t know the Wild Bunch, they aren’t his buddies, but Terry Gordy is a fighter! And when he saw Enos, Slater, and Duncum doing what they were doing, Gordy believed he was in for a fight. Bam Bam is in the World Title Tournament and he was looking for a warm up! Security cost him a fight and now it is someone’s unlucky damn day because Bam Bam is going into that ring and somebody had better tighten their chin strap and bring it on. Match 4 1 Fall 15 Minute Time Limit James Beard is your official Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy defeats Black Magic by pinfall @ 52 seconds after the Asiatic Spike. . . Dutch Mantell is with “Primetime” Brian Lee and Ron and Don Harris. Lee says he and his cousins the Bruise Brothers were in the back and heard the Armstrongs out here bumping their gums earlier about families in professional wrestling, well this right here is the family of the 90s and beyond. Brian Lee your next World Heavyweight Champion, the Bruise Brothers your next World Tag Team Champions. And that no Armstrong, no Fulton will be able to stop them. No Freebird, no Dragon. It doesn’t matter how Big and Bad you are. It doesn’t matter how Rough or Ready you are. It doesn’t even matter how Wild of a Bunch you are, when you see a contract with the name Lee or Harris on it your best bet is to not sign it! Ron (?) says he and his brother have been all over the world and there ain’t a tag team on the planet that can take what the Brothers Bruise are prepared to give. Don (?) says that all the tag teams here in Jim Crockett Promotions will find out real quick why they are the most dominant tag team in the world today. Primetime wraps up the interview with a simple, love it or hate it, it don’t matter because thats the way it is. . . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . Caudle, Cruise, and Mantell are once again joined by JJ Dillon along with Mr. Hughes and Buff Bagwell. JJ says that earlier he introduced us to the Anderson family and at this time he wants to introduce to us, the wrestler of the 90’s, the man who will lead Dillon Enterprises into the 21st Century, Marcus Alexander Bagwell. Bagwell is posing for the camera, sporting a thin, chin strap goatee and mustache, with the kinda smile you just want to slap off his face. Dillon says that in today’s main event Marcus takes on one half of the Success Express Jimmy Powers. Bagwell leans into the mic and says “he ain’t Buff!” and goes back to posing, getting a smile out of JJ. Dillon says he has been informed by Mr. Crockett that Marcus and Mr. Hughes will be taking on the Success Express next week in the opening bout of the World Tag Team Title tournament and that is why he has signed this match right here today, to prove to Mr. Powers and Curtis Thompson Bagwell leans into the mic and says “he ain’t Buff either!” leading to Dutch Mantell commenting that he really likes this kids style. JJ says that the match is to prove to the Success Express that they have come to the wrong place if they plan on being successful. With that Bagwell stops the posing, leans in to the mic, tells Mantell that he isn’t the only person in the building that likes his style! And that one person who definitely won't like his style is Jimbo Weak. “Now its time to strut my stuff because I am O SO BUFF”. . . Main Event 1 Fall with TV Time Remaining (17 minutes) Mark Curtis is your official Marcus “Buff” Bagwell w/James Julius Dillon and Mr. Hughes vs. Jim Powers w/Curtis ThompsonBagwell is all smiles in the ring strutting around, and even does the Flair hand extension, pull back, hair slick, WOOOO, and as Buff is laughing and pointing at Powers he gets the taste slapped right out of his mouth! Now Buff is hot and swings wildly, but Powers ducks and answers with a quick jab. Buff swings and misses again, Powers ducks and jabs again. Bagwell swings a haymaker, Powers ducks behind, Atomic Drop sends Bagwell over the top rope and to the floor, Bagwell jumps into the arms of Mr. Hughes! Hughes drops him, the arena is laughing their asses off and Buff is pissed! . . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . We return and nobody is laughing at Buff now! He has a reverse chin lock on Jim Powers with his knee square in the middle of his back. Powers is in all kinds of pain as his partner is slapping the mat, rallying the crowd. Just as Jimmy is breaking the knuckle lock, Bagwell lets go and blasts a knee into the back. Bagwell is now the one all smiles and pointing to his temple showing not only is he pretty but he is smart as well! Bagwell bounces off the ropes, and struts to the center of the ring, flexes his bicep up to his lips, gives it a big kiss, drops an elbow, BUT NOBODY HOME! Powers is out of the way and is cooking. Dropkick drops Bagwell. Body slam plants Buff. Powers rolls him up small package, 1...........2....... and no! Powers goes behind, follows Buff into the ropes, rolling reverse cradle, 1..........2....... and no! Boot to the gut, Sunset Flip, 1........2........ and no! Jimmy Powers drops Bagwell with what must be his dozenth dropkick of the contest, and ascends to the top rope. O man, JJ Dillon is on the apron and Mark Curtis is trying to talk him down. Mr Huges is on the far side, coming up behind Powers, but Curtis Thompson is there to stop him. Powers is distracted long enough for Bagwell to crash into the ropes and straddle him on the top rope. Bagwell delivers a couple big right hands and goes for the superplex, but Powers holds on! Headbutt knocks Bagwell down. Hughes is there to trip Powers just before he leaps, Buff side steps and drives Powers face down to the mat! JJ hops down and is all too pleased with himself. Buff climbs to the top rope, flexes, kisses his bicep, he leaps, flying elbow smash to the heart of Jimmy Powers! And gets the 1............2............3! @ 14’22 of a hard fought back and forth contest!JJ and Hughes are in the ring with Buff who is channeling “Ravishing” Rick Rude with his hip swivels. And from behind Curtis Thompson dropkicks Bagwell out of the ring, which might not have been the smartest move as he is nearly decapitated by Mr. Hughes. Buff comes back in and gives Thompson his receipt, and wipes the sweat off his brow onto the Success Express . . . Bob Caudle and Chris Cruise are not too thrilled with the attitude of Marcus Bagwell and are less excited about how he picked up the victory. But Dutch Mantell insists that here in the big leagues you take victories by any means necessary. Caudle says that he has been around Bagwell and really doesn’t like this new found attitude, but Dutch corrects Mr. Caudle saying that what Buff has done is finally developed an attitude and realized that if you want to get to the top you gotta look out for numero uno. Thats why he has signed up with the manager of champions James J. Dillon and he expects big things from Bagwell. Mr. Caudle runs down next weeks episdoe where Buff and Hughes will take on Curtis Thompson and Jim Powers the Success Express and just signed, Ron and Don Harris take on Scott and Steve Armstrong in the first two bouts of the first round of the World Tag Team Championship Tournament. And in the main event, Terry Gordy teams with The Wild Bunch to take on Bobby Duncum, Jr., Mike Enos, and Dick Slater, and fans if this week is any indication that main event is sure to be a wild one. Don’t miss it! . . . . . Peace Jeff

And that tournament will culminate August the 17th from the Greensboro Special Events Center where we also be holding a tournament to crown a WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION And at this time the president of JCP, Mr. Jim Crockett is out and says that he has been fielding lots of phone calls from wrestlers and managers concerning the big tournament on the 17th and that JCP is taking all considerations under advisement and that next week on World Wide Wrestling the Commissioner of World Wide Wrestling will be on hand and he will be announcing the tournament brackets. Chris Cruise says that we already know that two legends, two former World Champions have already been signed for the tournament, Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat and Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy, and that we have a special look at the thrid man confirmed for the tournament who will be making his World Wide in ring debut next week, The . . . . . ONE . . . . . MAN . . . . . GANG!!!VTR: “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath plays as still photos circle on screen of the 747 bouncing off the ropes landing his big splash frame by frame onto different opponents. A close up of OMG’s tattooed head and screaming face rolls in slow motion as the big man from Chicago charges like a bull across the ring, avalanching 3 men in the corner, and delivering the 747 splash, and pinning all 3 men at once! END VTR:Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantell both comment on knowing first hand the awesome power possessed by the One Man Gang and that he would be a helluva assignment for someone in the first round. Right now we have Gary Michael Cappetta standing by ready to announce the opening contest of the WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT “Wrestling fans this is a one fall contest with a 30 Minute Time Limit. Referee in charge of the action Mark Curtis. Introducing first, accompanied to their ring by their manager, Mr. James J. Dillon, at a total combined weight of 484 lbs. Brad and CW Anderson, the Georgia Wrecking Crew! And their opponents, from the City of Angels at a total combined weight of 440 lbs, Jackie and Bobby, the Fantastics!”
Brad and CW look to be zoned in here tonight as they take very little time in getting Jackie Fulton down and in their corner with quick in and out tags, double teaming at every opportunity, but the tough youngster will not be bested, he battles back, but goes for a shoulder block in the corner when he perhaps should’ve tagged in his big brother as CW evades him and Jackie shoulder is now compromised after striking the ring post. Brad comes in off the middle turnbuckle with a knee to the shoulder blade, and locks in the Fujiwara armbar! As it seems dire, big brother Bobby delivers a saving boot to the temple and drags Jackie across the ring as far as he can before CW comes charging, but the wily veteran, ducks and back flips CW and delivers a dropkick to Brad before exiting the ring. Jackie and Brad are in a race to their feet, Brad lunges at Jackie, but to no avail, Bobby is in! Dropkick for Brad, in comes CW, out does CW after another dropkick. Bobby Fulton is really cooking now, fires Anderson into the ropes, Brad ducks a clothesline, into the ropes again,Fulton catches him in the sleeper! Bobby applies all the pressure and hops on Brad’s back, Anderson is fading! And JJ Dillon is on the apron!, CW blasts Bobby with a double axe handle to the base of the skull. Jackie returns to the fight, blasting CW with a big right and a left, a reverse atomic drop. Jackie revives Bobby, they fire Brad into the ropes, DOUBLE DROPKICK! Jackie goes to the top rope, ROCKET LAUNCHER! 1.......2.........and NO! CW Anderson breaks up the count by dropping a knee to the back of Bobby Fulton’s head, but Jackie is there to take CW out, meanwhile, JJ Dillon is slipping his loafer to Brad! ITS HIGHWAY ROBBERY Bobby is woozy as he gets up, here comes Anderson! Bobby ducks, Brad crashes chest first into the turnbuckle, school boy roll up by Bobby Fulton gets the 1.............2..............3 @ 12’16Bob Caudle says the Fantastics escaped that one by the skin of their teeth, Dutch Mantell corrects him and says that its the luckiest day of the Fulton’s lives to pick up a victory against the Andersons. Caudle says maybe the Fantastics just have JJ and his crew’s number. . . . . . . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . . . . . We return to Bob Caudle standing by with Gary Hart and one of his charges, the dynamic Koji Kanemoto. Gary says he was on a scouting trip overseas, he was at the world famous Egg Dome, 65,000 fans in attendance, and all anyone could talk about was one young boy who delivered the most awe inspiring performance seen in quite some time. That Japanese professional wrestlers have always been ahead of the curve, and if you have ever followed Gary Hart’s career you know that he has facilitated the arrival and managed the careers of the best Japanese wrestlers to ever come to North America. And that this man right here, is the finest wrestling prospect to come out of Japan since the Great Muta. Koji Kanemoto, with the wrestling skills of Lou Thesz, the discipline of a samurai, the martial arts skill of a ninja, and the possessor of “Bushido” the way of the warrior, Koji Kanemoto will dominate World Wide Wrestling and with Gary Hart calling the shots he will return to the land of the rising sun as the World Heavyweight Champion “The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. Your referee in charge is James Beard. The competitor standing to my right from Asheville, North Carolina weighing in at 205 lbs Shannon Moore. And his opponent, led to the ring by his manager, Gary Hart, from the Land of the Rising Sun, 225 lbs, Koji Kanemoto”Moore is all heart, but gets in zero offense as Kanemoto displays an awesome variety of strikes with both his feet and his hands, nails a devastating power drive elbow, raises the youngster to his knees and nearly decapitates him with running knee to the face. Kanemoto finishes Shannon Moore off with a top rope moonsault @ 3’16Chris Cruise is standing by with Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat, and the Steamer says he was watching earlier when Jim Crockett showed that video tape of the One Man Gang and that he has felt the power of the 747 and he knows that the Gang will be a stiff challenge for him or any other competitor here on World Wide Wrestling. Steamboat says he is very interested in the Brian Lee vs. Erik Watts match here today as he has trained with Watts, knows his father very well and says that Erik is a quality athlete but he also knows that Brian Lee is one of the toughest men in the sport and that he has thrown his hat in the ring and wants to take part in the World Title Tournament. Also here today Terry Gordy who is in and Bobby Duncum who wants in will be in the main event, Steamboat plans on watching everyone real close and that he can’t wait to find out who his first round opponent will be next week and that whomever it is they had better be at the top of their game because you can bet the Dragon will be "Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall and has a 15 minute time limit. Introducing first from Louisville, Kentucky weighing in at 242 lbs. Erik Watts. And his opponent from the Volunteer state of Tennessee, weighing in at 270 lbs, “Primetime” Brian Lee"Both of these guys are big, tall strong athletes with college backgrounds. Watts as the starting quarterback at the University of Louisville gets the better of the veteran in the early going, out wrestling Lee in the early stages of the contest. But Brian Lee takes advantage of Watts setting too early for a back body drop and puts the hurt to the second generation grappler. Now its Lee with the advantage, and is really punishing Watts, but with a fire in his belly Watts valiantly fights back and shows signs of fight left in him, but a well placed kick to the head and standing vertical suplex seals the deal for Primetime Brian Lee who finishes off Watts with a pump handle slam for the pinfall victory @ 6’44. . . . . . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . . . . . Dutch Mantell is joined by James Julius Dillon, the Bodyguard Mr. Hughes, and “Buff” Bagwell. JJ says that as lucky as the Fantastics were earlier, Powers and Thompson won’t be finding near the same amount of Success, Bagwell who finds the comment hysterical leans in and says “They ain’t buff” before going back to posing and winking at the ladies at ringside, while obnoxiously smacking his gum. Dillon goes on to put over Bagwell as the wrestler of the 90s and that with the mad mountain of a man from Kansas teaming with him they are an unstoppable combination! Jimmy Powers, Bagwell leans in and drops the priceless nugget, “his stuff is weak,” found out last week just how tough Buff Bagwell is, and that Mr. Hughes has been waiting all week to “mess up some punks” as he puts it. Bagwell takes the opportunity to talk to Dutch and says that the world of professional wrestling has not seen an athlete who can strut his stuff like Buff can daddy and that he and the big man are going to tap dance on the Success Express’ skulls on their way to World Tag Team Title Gold!"Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a thirty minute time limit. Your referee in charge is Mark Curtis. Introducing first at a total combined weight of 457 lbs. Jim Powers and Curtis Thompson, the Success Express. And their opponents led to the ring by their manager, James J. Dillon. First from Marietta, Georgia weighing in at 234 lbs. Marcus Alexander Bagwell and his partner weighing in at 307 lbs. from Kansas City the Bodyguard, Mr. Hughes"Marcus Alexander Bagwell and Jim Powers start the contest right where they left off last week, countering one another’s offense and producing a stalemate. Buff is sure to take his time more carefully on the next exchange and finishes off with a hip toss, to which he is very proud of himself and he struts around the ring. Powers tags off to Thompson who has better luck with Bagwell, only to be stopped in his tracks when Bagwell tags out and the former NFL’er is in now and puts hands on the firebreaker and is methodically ripping Thompson to shreds pounding on him, and battering him before tagging out. Bagwell and Hughes are working cohesively under the approving gaze of JJ and get several near falls on Thompson. But the man wont say die and finally tags in his partner, Jimmy Powers, who has Dillon enterprises in retreat mode! Powers dropkicks the shades off Mr Hughes and plants Bagwell with a running bulldog for the one...................two..............and no! Running powerslam from Powers gets a one..........two.............and no! Powers is calling for the piledriver, but Hughes takes him down with a clothesline, Curtis Thompson from behind delivers a big forearm to the shoulder blades of Hughes but the big man puts both hands around the throat of Thompson, hoists him over the top rope and plants him with a sit out power bomb! And Curtis Thompson is done, Bagwell ascends to the top rope, he flexes, kisses his bicep, Buff flies, elbow drop to the heart, gets the one.............two.............three @ 11’47Bob Caudle, Chris Cruise, and Dutch Mantell are all impressed with the team work of Hughes and Bagwell, Mantell even says they are the darkhorses in the tournament. Cruise mentions that he likes the tenacity and heart of the Success Express, but they came up just short, Caudle says that he would love to see more tag action between those 4 men. . . . . . . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . . . . . Bob Caudle is at the desk with Brad, Steve, and Scott, the Armstrong Brothers! Steve says that today 4 excellent tag teams were whiddled down to 2, and that next week 4 more tag teams will do battle and only 2 will be standing tall. He and his brother Scott have a tall task ahead of them against Ron and Don Harris but they promise to give everything they got and that they expect to come out victorious. Brad comments once again on wanting to be part of the big World Heavyweight Championship tournament, that he has been wrestling for a decade and a half and has taken on the biggest and baddest to ever lace em up. Brad says that there has never been anyone tougher than Terry Gordy, there has never been anyone badder than the One Man Gang and that he has never respected a wrestler more than he does Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat and it’d be an honor to wrestle any of them, and that Brad predicts when all is said and done not only will his name be listed beside those greats in the tournament, but it will be listed above those names as the new Heavyweight Champion of the World. Chris Cruise and Dutch Mantell say they’ve just been informed that there is time for today’s stand by match and that the fans are in for a real treat “Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. Your referee in charge is James Beard. First from Charlotte, North Carolina, weighing in at 231 lbs, he is the former Heavyweight Champion of the World, Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat and his opponent to my left from Asheville, North Carolina weighing in at 211 lbs. Shane Helms”Steamer looks in phenomenal shape as he takes on up and comer Shane Helms in this one and they begin with a handshake which is quickly followed by wrestling dominance from the former Champion. Helm’s quickly reverts to a poke to the eyes and a clinch fist to gain momentary advantage, but it only serves to fire up the Dragon who catches the youngster in numerous, patent Ricky Steamboat arm drags, followed by karate thrusts, and finishes Helms off with the top rope cross body press @ 5’22. . . . . . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . . . . . “Wrestling fans this is your Main Event of World Wide Wrestling, it is set for one fall with TV Time Remaining. Introducing first, from Texas, weighing in at 267 lbs. Big Bad Bobby Duncum, Jr. and his tag team partners, at a total combined weight of 487 lbs. Mean Mike Enos, Dirty Dick Slater, Rough and Ready. And their opponents first from Badstreet, USA weighing in at 290 lbs. Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy and his partners from Texas weighing in at a total combined weight 452 lbs. Billy Black and Joel Deaton, the Wild Bunch”Nothing pretty or scientific about this one. Six bad hombre’s duking it out for our enjoyment. Enos and Slater show why they are one of the favorites in the tag team tournament as they isolate Billy Black in the wrong part of town and really do a number on him. But Black shows the heart of a champion as “Dirty” Dick Slater tosses him over the top rope, expecting an opportunity for his partners to do a number on Black, but Billy lands on his feet on the apron, slingshots in with a flying shoulder tackle, quickly rolls to his corner and tags in Bam Bam, and the Freebird is really cookin delivering soup bone lefts and hay maker rights to all three advisories, back drop suplex folds up Enos, waist lock, pops the hips German suplex for Duncum, boot to the gut, gut wrench into a suplex on Slater gets the one.............two.............and no! The veteran shows how he has earned his tough as nails reputation by kicking out of that one. Now its two big bulls squaring off as Duncum, Jr. and Gordy hook it up in the middle of the ring each man jockeying for position, and its Gordy who out wrestles Bobby Duncum on that exchange and gets a coule near falls after a series of high impact moves. Gordy makes the tag to Deaton who gets a near fall after a big dropkick, but goes to the well once too often as a dazed Duncum is able to sidestep a second big dropkick and tag out. Now “Mean” Mike is putting the boots to the “Outlaw.” Enos, a long time tag team standout shows his skills as he works the neck of Deaton and tags in his partner, Slater is going up, they are setting up a spike piledriver! But here comes Billy Black and Terry Gordy! Its pandemonium! Black delivers a moonsault from the apron to Duncum on the floor! Enos posts Gordy, slides in and joins Slater in a 2 on 1 attack on Deaton, this time there is no help as Rough and Ready plant Deaton with a spike piledriver @ 12’41 Bob, Chris, and Dutch comment on the great action we saw here today and recap the big wins by Buff Bagwell and Mr. Hughes as well as the Fantastics advancing to the semi-finals of the World Tag Team Title tournament. They talk about Ron and Don Harris the Bruise Brothers taking on Scott and Steve Armstrong as well as the Wild Bunch taking on Rough n Ready on next week’s broadcast for the last 2 semi-final spots, not to mention the in ring World Wide Wrestling debut of the 747, the One Man Gang and the World Heavyweight Championship tournament brackets in their entirety. Fans don’t miss World Wide Wrestling right here on TNT next weel. So long and good night . . . Peace Jeff

PRESENTS: THE MAJOR LEAGUE OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING Taped 8/2/95 @ “The Joel” Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the campus of Wake Forest University in beautiful Winston-Salem, NC Airs 8/5/95 @ 9pm on Bob Caudle, Chris “don’t call me Crispy” Cruise, and Dutch Mantell welcome everyone to another action packed edition of World Wide Wrestling. And last week we saw The Fantastics as well as Marcus Bagwell and Mr. Hughes advanced to the semi-finals and they will hook it up next week. Right here today we will find out who will be joining those terrific tag teams in next weeks semi-finals as Scott and Steve Armstrong meet the Bruise Brothers, Ron and Don Harris, and in a match that has been brewing since we opened up our doors, Rough n Ready takes on the Wild Bunch. And after last week’s 6 man main event, you can bet that one will be a barn burner! Also fans, as promised, the COMMISSIONER of Jim Crockett Promotions is here, and he will have his first interview this week announcing the full brackets for the World Heavyweight Championship tournament to be held August the 17th in the Greensboro Special Events Center, right now lets send it down to Gary Micheal Cappetta and the debut of the 747! “The opening contest is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. James Beard is your official in charge. Introducing first, from Chicago, Illinois weighing in at 400 lbs, the monster of the midway, The One Man Gang. And his opponents from Ashville, NC at a total combined weight of 416 lbs. Shannon Moore and Shane Helms”The Carolina Kids don’t have to tag in and out in this handicap match up and open up firing away on OMG, but the Gang lets out a hearty laugh and slings the youngsters across the ring. The gang punts poor Shane Helms through the middle and bottom ropes to the floor, and splats Shannon Moore into the canvas with an elbow drop to the middle of his back. The Gang picks the youngster up by the trunks, flings him over his shoulder like a baby, walks around the ring with, and plants him with a powerslam. Shane Helms is back and on the top rope, he leaps at the 747 but is goozled by the throat, and planted beside his partner with a chokeslam. The Gang fires Moore first into the corner, then his partner right into him. RUNNING AVALANCHE SPLASH. The One Man Gang sets them up in the center of the ring, he bounces off the ropes, 747 Splash and he pins both men! Wait what is this? The Gang is demanding that referee James Beard continue his count! 4.......5............6............7! OMG has made his point, Beard coulda counted to 107.. . . . . . . . . Commercial Break . . . . . . . . . Bob Caudle is standing at the interview desk, and at this time would like to introduce us to the designated COMMISSIONER OF WORLD WIDE WRESTLING, the one, the only BULLET BOB ARMSTRONG! Mr. Caudle welcomes the Bullet and the old friends exchange pleasantries. Caudle says that its been a total pleasure getting better acquainted with the Bullet’s sons and says that he was hoping pops would show up at some point, but he is excited to see a no nonsense, wrestler in charge of the day to day operations of WWW. The Bullet says that he had some trepidation about taking on the Commissioner’s role expecting some of the boys in the back to assume that Bullet Bob would show favoritism to his sons, but he assures everyone that would not be the case, if anything Armstrong says he will be tougher on his boys as he expects more out of them. Which is why the Commish had little input on the bracketing for the two world title tournaments. But at this time he would like to show the brackets for the World Heavyweight Championship tournament, and he tells Mr. Caudle that with brackets this good, the wrestling fans can be assured that the better man on the night of the 17th will come out on top! Ricky Steamboat vs Koji Kanemoto w/Gary Hart “Primetime” Brian Lee vs Brad Armstrong and because of what has been going on on television, the board has approved Terry Gordy’s request and in the very first round it will be Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy vs Big Bad Bobby Duncum The One Man Gang vs A man who is near and dear to the Armstrong family, TRACEY SMOTHERS get on down here! Tracey says its great to be back in a top wrestling promotion, and that he feels like its his time to shine. He got a phone call from Stevie first asking him to come in, and Tracey was finishing up some work in another company, and then when the Bullet called him and said that he was going to be the Commissioner, and that there was a spot available, ol Tracey knew it was time to give his notice and get his butt to Jim Crockett Promotions and onto TNT! And that Bullet Bob hasn’t done him any favors as you can tell being matched up with the One Man Gang in the first round, but this “wild eyed southern boy” would bring the fight to that monster, and that he fully expects to meet up with his “brother” Brad Armstrong in the finals. Tracey says that he tweaked his ankle the last time he was in action and the World Wide trainers wouldn’t allow him to compete here tonight, but next week, just 5 days before the tournament Tracey would make his in ring debut, and he can’t wait to fire the Major Leagues up! “The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. Official in charge is Randy Anderson. Introducing first weighing in at 233 lbs., hailing from Macon, GA Scotty Riggs. And his opponent, 241 lbs. from Toronto, Canada, Sean Morley”Two firey youngsters looking to make names for themselves on World Wide Wrestling are hooking it up today. We see some very good basics displayed by both men in the early going, but Scotty Riggs, with slightly a little more ring time starts to get the advantage and is riding Morley with a headlock. Morley displays knowledge beyond his years, telling the ref he is being choked and when Pee Wee checks into it, Morley grabs a handful of hair, irish whips Riggs and drops him with a reverse elbow. Morley is too pleased with himself as he charges into Riggs and is taken down with another headlock. Now the action is picking up and and the pace is quickening. Both youngsters are cooking and exchanging moves. The first big mistake proves to be all that was needed as Morley set too early for a back drop and ate a European uppercut for his troubles. Scotty Riggs ascends to the middle turnbuckle on the inside and plants Sean Morley with a bulldog picking up the victory in an ultra competitive contest.James Julius Dillon, his bodyguard Mr. Hughes, and The Georgia Wrecking Crew are standing by with Chris Cruise and JJ says that the Anderson’s suffered a minor setback last week at the hands of the Fulton’s, but right here next week on World Wide, Mr. Hughes and Marcus Alexander Bagwell have the opportunity to even the score for Dillon enterprises. And no amount of dastardly tricks that Bobby Fulton has learned over the years would save him and his little brother next week. With that being said, this may have been a blessing in disguise for the Anderson’s. Brad says that he and CW have watched the video from last week and have started and intense training program that his dad Ole and their Uncle Arn used to put them through when preparing for big matches and tournaments in high school and college. And the Minnesota Wrecking Crew knew how to do many many things, but number one on that list, was delivering pain. And believe Brad when he says they didn’t pull any punches with he and CW, and when they get the chance to wrestle someone besides one another or Uncle Arn, you can bet they’ll do what the Anderson’s do best. Bust you up, break your arm, and put you out of the wrestling business. And Fantastics, win, lose, or draw next week, whether you win the World Tag Team Titles or not, you will have to deal the Georgia Wrecking Crew. Chris Cruise says he would not want to be in the boots of Bobby or Jackie Fulton! He sends it to break, and when we return, its the Bruise Brothers against the Armstrong’s, don’t you dare change that dial! . . . . . . . . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . . . . . . . . “Wrestling fans the next contest is a quarter final match in the World Tag Team Title Tournament. Your official in charge is Mark Curtis. Introducing first in the corner to my right, from Marietta, GA at a total combined weight of 455 lbs, Steve and Scott the Armstrong Brothers. And their opponents accompanied by “Primetime” Brian Lee, from the Volunteer state of Tennessee, at a total combined weight of 550 lbs, Ron and Don Harris, the Bruise Brothers”
Steve and Ron (?) start it out, and the Harris boys live up to their name in the early going laying a beating on Steve, knocking knots on his head faster than he can rub em. But Steve Armstrong is no stranger to tag team wrestling or big and formidable foes, and he does his best rope a dope technique, but the smartest move he makes is not getting caught in the brothers bruise’s corner. Scott has a bit more success that Steve when he first gets into the action, moving quickly and avoiding the bruising offense of the Harris boys. Dropkicks for Ron and Don send them reeling, Scott really packs Dynamite in those boots of his. Now its Steve and Scott in control of Don (?), they have the big man down and are relentlessly working on his lower body, in an effort to keep him grounded where he is the same size as Stevie and Scotty. Scotty drops a knee across the knee of Harris from the second rope and follows it up by draping the ankle across the bottom rope and dropping all his weight down across it, he makes the tag and Steve wastes no time applying the figure 4! Steve has won many a match with this hold and he is really cinching it in. From across the ring comes Ron (?) with a devastating elbow drop right in the mush of Steve. Don (?) is trying to seize the opportunity to make a tag, but his knee isn’t cooperating too well. Steve is starting to stir, he makes the tag, but not before Don (?) finally made it to his brother, Scott comes flying after his much larger opponent, a couple of big forearms have Ron (?) staggered ever so slightly, Scott again bounces off the ropes but this time he is caught by his larger foe. Uranagi from Harris gets a 1...............2.............and NO! How did Armstrong kick out of that one? Ron (?) is beside himself, but smartly regroups and goes back after Scott, irish whip, BOOM massive boot to the dome gets another nearfall, but Scott Armstrong continues to fight back, his shots are really losing their mustard tho. Steve is getting the crowd behind his brother, but Ron is firmly in control with a bear hug, drives Scott back first into the Harris boys’ corner. Don (?) delivers a superplex from the middle rope on the inside that is absolutely devastating, but only gets a 2 count as Steve makes the save for his little brother. Now all 4 men are in the ring, and Ron and Don have Steve cornered, the fire him across, DOUBLE SHOULDER BLOCK from Steve! Steve climbs to the top rope, DOUBLE SHOULDER BLOCK, he pulls one of the Harris’ out of the ring and they are brawling, Scott is rolling over, he makes the cover 1................2...............3, NO!! Ron (?) kicks out but just barely. Scott makes the tag Steve climbs to the top rope one more time, MISSILE DROPKICK, its over, its over. Where is the referee??? He is with Brian Lee! Scott and Steve finally get the ref’s attention, Scott goes to make the cover, but he gets rolled up by Ron (?) for the 1.......2...........3!!!!!!!!It looked for sure like Ron was a beaten man, but he recovered enough to, wait a minute, who are Brian Lee and Ron assisting to the back??? THATS RON! The Harris Boys have pulled the switcheroo! Dutch Mantel is standing by with Gary Hart and The Great Tenzan. Hart says that last week he introduced us to Koji Kanemoto, the man that will beat Ricky Steamboat and win the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, this week we meet his devastator. His demon. Nephew to the Great Kabuki, cousin to the Great Muta, this man has been taught the dark arts by his family, and he will uphold that Great tradition, as he is saying this Tenzan spews GREEN MIST into the air, gives the throat slash and the thumbs down, eerily reminiscent to Gary Hart’s past charges. Hart gives Tenzan a hand signal, and Tenzan returns to his meditative state, with his hands together as if in prayer. Hart continues on, saying that Tenzan is a monster, and that the fans and promoters in Japan are all terrified of him, which is how he came under the guidance of Hart, and now Gary Hart is going to unleash this monster right here on World Wide Wrestling . . . . . . . . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . . . . . . . . “Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. James Beard is your official in charge. Introducing first in the corner to my left, from West Point, NY, weighing in at 222 lbs, The Golden Eagle. And his opponent to be led to the ring by his manager, 244 lbs, from the Land of the Rising Sun, The Great Tenzan”Before the bout Tenzan returns to his meditative state for a few moments before climbing to the top rope and this time spewing RED mist, he points at the Eagle, gives the throat slash and thumbs down. This one is over almost as quickly as it started, much like his cohort last week, Tenzan displays a brutal array of strikes, using his hands, feet, and head. The big man wipes some of his paint off his face? Then digs those fingers into the eye holes of Eagle’s mask. The Eagle is screaming in pain. Referee Beard is counting, but its Hart, who is able to break the hold with some hand signal. Tenzan delivers a corckscrew neckbreaker, follows it up with a corckscrew elbow. I think the Eagle might be unconscious! Tenzan still isn’t finished as he picks up the Golden Eagle, and plants him in the middle of the ring with a Tombstone Piledriver! And mercifully its finally over.Bob Caudle is joined by James Julius Dillon, his bodyguard Mr. Hughes, and the “wrestler of the 90s” Marcus “Buff” Bagwell. Bob asks Bagwell if he has enough nicknames, and Buff says not nearly enough! There aren’t enough adjectives in the English language to articulate his greatness. But that next week he and the walkin’, talkin’, fire breathin’ monster would articulate all over the Fulton’s faces. JJ steps in as Buff goes to posing and slurpin on his sucker, and says that the Fantastics are in for pain, blues, and agony next week when they come up against his vicious, Buff steps in “and delicious,” duo. Just go ask Jim Powers and Curtis Thompson, “their stuff is weak as pond water” comments Buff, how awesome my tag team is. Now on to more pressing issues, people have been asking me why I didn’t place Marcus or Hughes in the World Title Tournament, and the answer is simple, I will not ask my guys to compete 3 times in one night, “because JCP would have to charge you people triple to see me that many times in one night” Buff adds before walking over to an attractive young lady in the front row and posing for her. Dillon continues, not when I have the ability to get them a title match afterwards and all my guys would have to do then is defeat a champion who is ripe for the picking. So no one is safe. Not the Fantatics, not the Wild Bunch, The Bruise Brothers, or Rough n Ready. No singles competitor in the Tournament. Nobody. “And JJ means nobody, especially not that lady right there, or that lady right there, I will see you girls at the Mariott. The ladies love Buff, Bobby Caudle, I have to put the Notorious H.U.G.H at the elevator entrance on my floor to pick the 10s out of the bunch. Ya know Mr. Caudle sometimes its really difficult to be me, hahahaha”“Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. Your referee in charge, Randy Anderson. Introducing first, from Louisville, KY, weighing in at 242 lbs. Erik Watts. And his opponent from Marietta, Ga weighing in at 226 lbs. Brad Armstrong”These two guys start off with a handshake, but waste no time in kicking this one off in high gear, and its obvious that the quick pace favors Brad. So Watts cleverly decides to slow down the pace and lean his larger frame on his smaller opponent, but the size of Brad Armstrong is only half of his story as this second generation star demonstrates here, and comes back with a reversal, a hammerlock, a headlock, and then a dropkick. Once again Armstrong is on a roll, and picks up the tempo. He is firing from all angles now on Watts, Erik attempts to catch Brad with a dropkick, but its obvious that is not Watt’s best move as he half ass throws it and gets caught in a Boston Crab. Give the big, former starting QB from the University of Louisville credit as he is able to scratch, and claw his way to the rope to necessitate a break. Armstrong allows Watts to pull himself up, he ducks a clothesline, hooks the arm, swings around, side Russian Leg Sweep and a float over plants Watts and picks up Brad a big victory heading into his first round bout with Brian Lee. . . . . . . . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . . . . . . . . “Hello creitans, I am the Sinister Minister, the Prophet of Doom, the Ambassador of Evil, James Vandenburg, and DOOOOOOOMSDAY is approaching World Wide Wrestling. My unholy alliance will bring forth mayhem, and destruction the likes of which have never been seen. We will annihilate the competition, throw them out like used tissues at the peep show. Nooooone is safe. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. BOOM! Doomsday! BWAHAHAHA”Bob Caudle seems particularly disturbed by the video sent in by James Vandenburg, who will be debuting next week with his charge, and Bob issues warning that they may not be for all viewers. But right now we send it to Gary Michael Cappetta for tonight’s main event, and here we go.... “Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with TV Time remaining and is a quarterfinal match up in the World Tag Team Championship Tournament. Randy Anderson is your official in charge. Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Bobby Duncum, from anywhere they darn well choose at a total combined weight of 487 lbs, “Mean” Mike and “Dirty” Dick, Rough ‘n Ready. And their opponents from Texas, at a total combined weight of 452 lbs., Billy Black and “Outlaw” Joel Deaton, The Wild Bunch”On the first episode of World Wide Wrestling these men were involved in a brawl that went over half the arena. In last weeks main event “Dirty” Dick Slater pinned “Outlaw” Joel Deaton after a hard hitting six man encounter. To say that these teams have become familiar with one another would be understatement of the year. There is no feeling out process here, other than feeling each others faces with their fists! And it has erupted already, all 4 men duking it out in the ring, and all 4 men tumble out of the ring in pairs! Bobby Duncum is just about to deal Billy Black a beating when out from the back . . . . . . ITS BAM BAM GORDY!!!!Terry Gordy is ripping into his first round opponent! Duncum and Gordy are brawling all the way to the back, maybe just maybe this tag team bout will be contested 2 on 2! Referee Randy Anderson has the competitors back inside the squared circle, and just the two legal men inside the ring. A real barn burner is brewing here as Mike Enos and Dick Slater have the Outlaw, Joel Deaton in the wrong part of town and are really doing a number on him. Tagging in and out feverishly keeping the fresh man in the ring, but its Joel Deaton on the comeback trail fighting his way out of the corner, he tucks, he rolls, and he tags in Billy Black who is a house of fire. Dropkick for Slater. Bodyslam for Enos. Chops for both men. He grabs two handfuls of hair, double noggin knocker. Enos bounces out of the ring, Slater takes a swing at a ghost in the corner and face plants! Double stomp to the back of Slater, and Black is going to the top rope. Big splash gets a count of 1............2......... and NO! Black gets up and dropkicks Enos from the apron to the floor, he steps out, Enos is getting to his feet, moonsault off the apron! That big move may’ve been a mistake by Billy tho as he is barely able to get back in the ring before the ref’s count of 10, and Slater is able to regroup, huge million dollar knee lift welcomes Black returning to the ring. Slater goes over and takes a cheapshot on Deaton, and now the referee is restraining the Outlaw! Here comes Mike Enos, Rough n Ready are double teaming Billy Black and it doesn’t look good for the Wild Bunch. They set up Black for a stuff piledriver, the move that finished Deaton last week, but Deaton has seen enough, he takes out Enos, leaving Slater and Black in the ring. Dirty Dick grabs hold, he cinches him up, he’s going for the Brainbuster! This will be it for Billy Black. Wait a minute, Black delivers a knee to the top of Slater’s head! Black comes down behind Slater, into the ropes, rolling reverse cradle, 1..........2.............and NO! Slater reverses, 1.............2.............and No! Black kicks out. Slater rolls him up again in school boy, 1...........2...........and No! Black’s out again. Slater rolls him up again this time in a small package, 1................2.............and NO! Black reverses the small package, 1...............2.................3!!!!!!!!!!!! The Wild Bunch moves on!Slater kicks out right after the 3 and he can’t believe it! Enos has dropped Deaton on the floor and rolls in a hair too late. Now Rough n Ready are going to work on Billy Black, they are really hammering on him. Finally youngsters and officials are getting Rough n Ready off Billy Black and out of the ring. Wait a second, now they have doubled up on Joel Deaton on the floor, come on! The Wild Bunch has won the match but as Dutch puts it, Rough n Ready may’ve just won the war! Bob, Chris, and Dutch recap today’s show and highlight next weeks show with Buff Bagwell and Mr. Hughes taking on the Fantastics and The Bruise Brothers take on the Wild Bunch, Dutch says he doesn’t expect the Wild Bunch to be here next week after the beating they just took. The Sinister Minister James Vandenburg debuts his charge next week, and in the main event, get a load of this, six of the eight men from the World Heavyweight Title Tournament square off in a huge six man bout as Ricky Steamboat, Tracey Smothers, and Brad Armstrong take on Koji Kanemoto, The One Man Gang, and Brian Lee. Fans don’t miss it! So long and good night. Peace Jeff

PRESENTS: WORLD WIDE WRESTLING! THE MAJOR LEAGUE OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING Taped 8/9/95 @ Littlejohn Coliseum on the Campus of Clemson University Airs 8/12/95 @ 9pm on An Instrumental version of Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing in the Name of” opens the broadcast . . . . . Bob Caudle, Chris Cruise, and Dutch Mantell welcome everyone to the broadcast and its finally here, this Friday Night at the Special Events Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, its the one night tournament to crown a World’s Heavyweight Champion. Last week fans the full bracket was announced and right here tonight all 8 participants will be in action! Ricky Steamboat teams with Tracey Smothers and Brad Armstong in tonight’s main event to take on their first round opponents, Koji Kanemoto, the One Man Gang, and Primetime Brian Lee, also on tonights the 2 remaining first round competitors, Terry Gordy and Bobby Duncum will be in action respectively. Not to mention on this broadcast, the semi-finals of the World Tag Team Championship tournament. But up first, its the Sinister Minister James Vandenburg and his charge! “Wrestling fans the first contest on World Wide Wrestling is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. Randy Anderson is your official in charge. First from Louisville, KY weighing in at 251 lbs. Erik Watts. And his opponent, to be introduced by his manager, James Vandenburg” Vandenburg takes the mic from Cappetta and says that his man is “from the Darkness, the keeper of lost souls, ferryman of the River Styx, son of Acheron, VAMPIRE WARRIOR!! The man is carry a goblet or chalice of some kind that has a distinctly thick looking red substance inside of it! Bob Caudle doesn’t even want to speculate on what it might be! Inside the ring the man fights much like he looks like he would and never allows Erik Watts to get outta the blocks. The Warrior has some very unique offense to say the least. He brutalizes Watts while having him tied to the tree of woe, and fires Watts into the ropes, shoots him into the air, and plants him on the mat with a hand on his chest. Warrior makes the cover, and gets the 1........2........3 Vandenburg is all cackles as he and Vampire Warrior join Chris Cruise, who was ditched by Bob and Dutch! Vandenburg says that he certainly knows how to deliver doesn’t he? He promised vile destruction and doomsday were upon World Wide Wrestling, and that this man, the son of Acheron, “and if you imbeciles don’t know who Acheron is, look him up” would deliver upon that promise. And that every man who has an inkling of joining Jim Crockett Promotions, look deep into the Warrior’s eyes, you will find no mercy. And that the Sinister Minister, the Sage of Darkness, The Apocalyptic Prophet, James Vandenburg’s unholy alliance is not yet complete. CLICK. CLICK. CLICK. DOOMSDAY, BWAHAHAHAHA . . . . . . . . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . . . . . . . . Bob Caudle welcomes us back and he is joined at this time by Gary Hart. And Mr. Hart is irritated at his inability to find an opponent for The Great Tenzan, he understands the destructive nature of his man and that if he can’t get him in the ring, he becomes unbearable. Mr. Hart says he believes that being here in the Major League of Professional Wrestling there would be more athletes willing to prove themselves. And that if it weren’t for the Title Tournament, Ricky Steamboat surely would not accept the challenge of Koji Kanemoto. Bob asks Gary Hart about tonights main event and his thoughts on how Koji would mesh with Brian Lee and the One Man Gang. Mr. Hart says that he has no doubt those 3 men could come together long enough to do whats necessary. And what is necessary is that Ricky Steamboat, Tracey Smothers, and Brad Armstrong don’t go to Greensboro this Friday night in the shape the arrived here tonight in! He would’ve prefered getting The Great Tenzan into a tag match with Koji against Steamboat and Smothers or Armstrong, but he knew Jimmy Crockett wouldn’t have any of that here today. Mr. Hart assures Ricky the Dragon Steamboat though, this Friday night in Greensboro, the site of some of Steamboats biggest victories, will poetically, be the site of his most crushing defeat. “Wrestling fans the following contest is a semi-final bout in the World Tag Team Championship Tournament and is scheduled for one fall with a 30 Minute Time Limit. Your official is James Beard. Introducing first from the Volunteer state of Tennessee, at a total combined weight of 702 lbs, Ron and Don Harris, The Bruise Brothers! And their opponents from Texas, at a total combined weight of 452 lbs, “Outlaw” Joel Deaton and Billy Black, the Wild Bunch!” The Bruise Brothers picked up a hard fought victory of Steve and Scott Armstrong last week, but that pales in comparison to the absolute war Deaton and Black have had with Rough n Ready for the last month. Ron (?) shows his smarts early on getting the best of the smallest man in the ring, Billy Black, he and his brother have cut the ring off, and are grinding on Black. They make the exchange quick and often. As things begin to look bleak for Black, the ruffian goes with an eye poke, and elbow to the gut to finally catch a breather, a big dropkick allows Billy the time he needed to tag in the “Outlaw” Joel Deaton is really cooking, taking it to both Harris boys, and gets the crowd into it with a double noggin knocker that gets a near fall on Don (?). But a big boot from the illegal Bruise brother really changes the complexion of the match. Now its Deaton’s turn to taste the recipe of pain dished out by big Ron and Don Harris, and he does not like the taste one bit. Ron (?) plants Deaton with a urinagi for the 1........2.......and no! Deaton barely gets a shoulder up. Harris flips Deaton up onto his shoulder and tags in his brother. Don (?) goes to the top, drops a big elbow on Joel off the shoulders of his brother, 1.............2................NO! Billy Black makes the save, and its a good thing because no way Joel could’ve kicked out of that one. Ron and Don Harris are really taking their time, enjoying the beatdown they are placing on Deaton. They taunt Black mercilessly, drawing him in, and take advantage of the ref’s back being turned. But Ron (?) sets early on a back body drop, eats the cowboy boot of Joel Deaton, and takes a back drop suplex for his troubles! Both men are down and Billy Black is going bonkers on the apron for the tag. DON (?) HARRIS charges in, James Beard is putting him out of the ring, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? “MEAN” MIKE ENOS jumps the rail, and drags Billy Black off the apron and posts him! Enos puts the boots to Black before disappearing back into the crowd. Deaton is crawling to his corner, but nobody is there! Ron blasts him with an elbow to the middle of Deaton’s spine. Ron tags his brother, fires Deaton into the ropes, the Outlaw ducks a double clothesline, and delivers two lariats of his own! Once again Deaton makes the long crawl to his corner, HERE COMES BILLY BLACK BACK TO HIS FEET, HE IS BLEEDING LIKE A STUCK HOG!!!! Joel Deaton makes the tag! He doesn’t know his partner is injured! Black staggers into the ring and eats a boot to the face from one of the Harris brothers. Powerbomb, its academic, 1............2.............3! The Bruise Brothers are into the finals! Bobby Duncum Jr. and “Dirty” Dick Slater come to the interview area with Chris Cruise and are laughing their asses off. Duncum says he told Deaton and Black that he ditched them because they were losers, and just because they were lucky last week don’t mean their luck lasts. Slater says that Billy Black musta been born with 2 left feet to trip and fall off the apron and bust his head wide open like that. “Hey Bob, they musta had some luck left because if Mike were here he woulda come to the ring and ended them boys career, that Mike has a short fuse don’t he Cruise? I wish my partner were here.” Duncum and Slater have a big laugh as they head to the ring, a few tense moments as the duo passed Joel Deaton and the medical staff assisting Billy Black to the back, but the Outlaw thought better of the situation and helped his partner. “Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. Referee is Mark Curtis. First standing in the ring to my left, 215 lbs. from Asheville, North Carolina, Shane Helms. And his opponent being accompanied to the ring by “Dirty” Dick Slater, 262 lbs. Big Bad Bobby Duncum” Big Bad Bobby has no trouble dealing with the firey youngster in this one, finishes Helms off with a Superplex from the second rope on the inside. . . . . . . . . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . . . . . . . “Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 30 minute time limit and is the last semi-final match in the World Tag Team Championship Tournament. The referee in charge is Randy Anderson. First from the City of Angels, at a total combined weight of 444 lbs. Bobby and Jackie Fulton, The Fantastics! And their opponents, accompanied to the ring by their manager, James Julius Dillon, first from Kansas City, 325 lbs. Mr. Hughes, and his partner 238 lbs. from Marietta, Georgia Marcus “Buff” Bagwell” There is alot riding on this one and no love lost as the Fulton’s eliminated fellow Dillon Enterprise members the Georgia Wrecking Crew in the quarter finals. Dillon sends the heavy hitter, Mr. Hughes in first and he quickly establishes his power advantage in this one, but the crafty veteran, Bobby Fulton shows that he has learned a thing or two in his years in the sport and is able to catch the big man off guard with his speed advantage, and takes advantage of his opportunities going for the pinfall everytime Hughes’ shoulders are on the mat, but referee Randy Anderson only even got a 2 count on one attempt, and then its time for the Buffster to come in, slow the pace down and irritate his opponents. Bagwell complains early and often of hair pulling, much to the dismay of the crowd here, “Buff” even takes a moment to leave the ring, get in the face of an, uh hum, college student who is obviously enjoying the atmosphere shall we say, and yells at him to shut up, and then hits on the pretty young lady beside him!!! Back in the ring, Bagwell tells Bobby that he doesn’t want to wrestle a cheater and demands he tag Jackie in, Bobby obliges’ him and Bagwell gets advantage of Fulton with, you guessed it, a handful of hair. Buff is extremely pleased with himself, and he and Hughes go to work on the younger Fulton and really do a number on the youngster. Hughes misses a splash from the second rope that would’ve finished the match and possibly Jackie’s career, now the race is on! Both guys make the tag, Bobby blocks a right by Bagwell and lands one of his own, and another, and another. He has Bagwell in the corner, one, two, three, four big right hands and a huge monkey flip have Bagwell reeling and JJ panicking. Hughes comes in after Bobby, but Fulton ducks and Hughes murderlizes Bagwell with a clothesline! The Fulton brothers hit the Bodyguard with a double dropkick, Jackie goes to the top, ROCKET LAUNCHER, Bobby makes the cover one.............two.............three! The Fantastics have made it to the finals where they will meet The Bruise Brothers! JJ comes in to check on the Buffster, and he can’t believe it, both of his teams have been eliminated by the Fantastics! Dutch Mantell is joined by none other than the Freebird Terry Gordy who says that he saw Bobby Duncum out here yukkin it up earlier, and he wants the “big bad Texican” to take a long look at what rompin, stompin, 290 lbs. of graveyard destruction can do when he sets his mind to it, and that Bobby Duncum and the rest of dem boys in the tournament had better step off the tracks because this Georgia freight train won’t be stopped “Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 15 minute time limit, your referee in charge is James Beard. Introducing first, in the corner to my right from Asheville, North Carolina weighing in at 208 lbs. Shannon Moore, and his opponent from Badstreet, U.S.A weighing in at 286 lbs. Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy” Bam Bam demolishes the poor youngster putting a stiff beating on him including a back drop suplex that looks like it broke Shannon Moore’s neck, mercifully Gordy finished him off right after with the Asiatic Spike Bob Caudle says don’t go anywhere as we take our final commercial break and come back with a huge 6 man main event, stay right with us! . . . . . . . . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . . . . . . . . Bob Caudle, Chris Cruise, and Dutch Mantell set up the main event and talk about how dominant Bobby Duncum and Terry Gordy looked. Mantell says that the winner of their first round match will definitely have the advantage this Friday night because they escaped their matches here today injury free and put away their lesser experienced opponents relatively quickly. Cruise adds that this main event set up by Commissioner Armstrong almost guarantees that these 6 men will be nicked up heading into the tournament. Mr. Caudle in all his infinite wisdom points out that he loves the decision to put these 6 guys in a tag match, as it allows unfamiliar opponents to take a look at one another which could provide better scouting reports for friday night as well as the communication factor. Brad, Tracey, and Rick Steamboat will get along just fine, but Bob is curious to see how Brian Lee, Koji Kanemoto, and the One Man Gang will mesh because Koji can’t communicate with them, and if there was ever a loner, its the One Man Gang, and with that he sends it to “the World’s Most Dangerous Announcer” Gary Michael Capetta! “Wrestling fans the following contest is scheduled for one fall with television time remaining and is your World Wide Wrestling Main Event of the evening. Intorducing first from Charlotte, North Carolina, 230 lbs. Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat! From the Heatlands of the South, 237 lbs. Tracey Smothers, and their partner 229 lbs. from Marietta, Georgia Brad Armstrong! And their opponents, first led to the ring by his manager Gary Hart, he weighs in at 225 lbs. from the Land of the Rising Sun, Koji Kanemoto, his partner from the Great State of Tennessee, weighing in at 266 lbs. “Primetime” Brian Lee, and their partner from Halstead Street in Chicago, Illinois weighing in tonight at over 400 lbs. The One Man Gang!” Tracey Smothers and Brian Lee are no strangers to one another and they start off this big time main event exchanging holds, counter holds, and strikes. Neither man is able to get a clear advantage until Smothers catches Prime Time with a surprise back hand strike, and standing savate kick! Lee checks his lip, and yells at Smothers “you want to show me how good your Kung Fu is boy???” And he tags in Koji Kanemoto, who comes in and takes a karate stance in front of Tracey, who knows exactly what Kanemoto is asking for and tentatively moves into his stance, as soon as their wrists touch Kanemoto nails him with a back hand to the chin! Koji returns to his position and motions for Smothers to come back, Tracey falls for it again, Koji is just too fast, his hand speed is ridiculous and really causing Tracey trouble. Smothers attempts a kick but its caught by Koji who lands a dragon screw leg whip! Devastating! Tracey hurries to his corner and tags in Armstrong, and as he is chekcing on Tracey, Brad makes the cardinal mistake of turning his back and gets “Pearl Harboured” by Kanemoto, much to the delight of Hart and Brad’s first round opponent Brian Lee. Kanemoto backs Armstrong into his corner, drop toe hold, tag to Lee, rope bounce, BIG ELBOW drop and Brian Lee is sitting down with a camel clutch and has Brad in agony. But the veteran makes it to the ropes to necessitate the break, Brian Lee goes for another elbow drop but Brad rolls out of the way, and again Lee misses, what a mistake by Prime Time, as Armstrong makes the tag and here comes the Dragon breathing fire! Chop for Lee, Chop for Koji, Dropkick to OMG! Double noggin knocker sends Koji to the floor and has Lee reeling. Double chop to the solar plexis doubles Lee over, but here comes an angry Gang who did not appreciate the cheapshot from Steamboat and makes the former World Champion pay with a headbutt and side suplex. The One Man Gang is now legally in the ring and is methodically tearing Steamboat up. Steamboat sells a body slam like he’s been shot which draws his partners in and, you guessed it, all hell is breaking loose! Steamboat is tied up with Koji, Brad and Brian Lee have hooked it up, and Tracey is taking the knees out from under OMG, who rolls to the outside. Tracey slingshots over the top rope but is caught by the Gang and rammed into the steel ring post! OMG backs up to ram Tracey once again but Brad Armstrong makes the save by chopping the Gang’s knees also! Brad pays the price for helping his friend because when he turned his back on Brian Lee the big man from Tennessee was all over him! Koji and Steamboat are chopping it out in the center of the ring, Steamboat hits a dropkick on Koji, slides out, and chops Brian Lee right between the eyes! WAIT A SECOND, FLYING OVER THE TOP ROPE IS KOJI KANEMOTO! SUICIDE DIVE NAILS ARMSTRONG AND STEAMBOAT. But its Kanemoto who may be the worst for wear as he slammed into the ringside barricade, all 6 men are down! The One Man Gang is the first to stir, but the big man is obviously hobbled, his knees feeling the effect of the attacks, he steps on the sternum of Tracey, and THROWS HIS HANDS UP! The Gang is walking out of here, but not after one more parting shot for Tracey Smothers! 6..............7................. Mark Curtis is rapidly approaching the count of 10, Brian Lee is stirring, but Brad Armstrong hooks his leg! Ricky Steamboat slides into the ring 10!!!!!!!!!! Tracey Smothers, Brad Armstrong, and Ricky Steamboat escape with a countout victory, but as Dutch Mantell notes, none of em are really winners here! Caudle, Cruise, and Mantell wonder just how much that main event took out of those six phenomenal athletes and that Bobby Duncum and Terry Gordy have to be happy campers. The One Man Gang’s knee is compromised, Koji might very well have a concussion, Steamboat was severly beaten up by the One Man Gang, and medical personel are checking on the knee and back of Tracey Smothers. Things are getting very interesting heading to Greensboro this Friday Night. Bob urges any fans in the area to make it to the Special Events Center with a special 7 pm start time, and promises all the great fans who can’t make it, that World Wide Wrestling cameras will be there, and highlights will be shown next week but the only way to see these great matches in their entirety will be to be there live and in person. Bob Caudle signs off as a rundown of Friday Nights card hits the screen, so long everybody! [center ]Friday August 17th. 7 pm Bell Time
