Joey Styles welcomes everyone to SLAMBOREE 1995 LIVE here on PAY PER VIEW!!! Tonight, the NWA World Title will be on the line in a Steel Cage as Owen Hart defends against the Funker himself, Terry Funk! The Great Muta defends the International Title against Sabu in a DEATH MATCH!!!!! The NWA Tag Team Titles will be hung above the ring and the Eliminators and Harlem Heatwill battle for them in a Ladder match! Ricky Steamboat battles Shane Douglas as well!

Match #1: HAYABUSA defeats THE GREAT SASUKE with a FALCON ARROW off the middle rope (12:40). Both guys took to the skies early and often. Action all over inside and outside of the ring. HAYABUSA kicked out of the RUNNING POWERBOMB. SASUKE kicked out of a SENTON BOMB. After the match HAYABUSA helped SASUKE to his feet and they shook hands.

Match #2: THE PITT BULLS WITH TORI defeat THE HEADHUNTERS WITH JAMES VANDENBURG when PITT BULL II pins HEADHUNTER A after an impressive DOOMSDAY DEVICE (8:10)!!! These two teams hate each other and while both are making their NWA debut, they have fought all over the United States. A total brawl. STYLES put both teams over in their debut and says that either one of them could soon be contending for the NWA TAG TEAM TITLES!

Match #3:KAZ HAYASHI and DICK TOGO WITH MEN’S TEIOH wrestle to a NO CONTEST when TAZ comes down to the ring and TAZPLEXES both men all over the ring. TOGO and KAZ only got to have about 2 minutes against each other before ALFONSO brough TAZ down to the ring to destroy the two men and TEIOH as well. TAZ then grabbed a microphone, said he was pissed they left him off this Pay Per View. He runs down the NWA PRESIDENT PAUL E. DANGEROUSLY and says that he is going to take his opportunity and challenges any bitch in the back to come out here and get their fucking ass handed to them by TAZ!!! But the Man from the Red Hook Section of Brooklyn, New York could not expect who answered the challenge

Match #4: TAZ WITH BILL ALFONSO defeated STAN “THE LARIAT” HANSEN when HANSEN passed out in the TAZMISSION (11:30). TAZ did not back down when HANSEN surprised the entire building and came out to the ring to answer the challenge. The two men beat each other up, with HANSEN no selling a GERMAN TAZPLEX, TAZ returned the favor by completely no selling THE LARIAT!!! TAZ then locked in the TAZMISSION for the win. STYLES says TAZ has just made a HUGE statement here at SLAMBOREE!!!

JOEY STYLES is in the CROW’S NEST and talks about the rivalry between RICKY “THE DRAGON” STEAMBOAT and SHANE DOUGLAS a rivalry that started last year when DOUGLAS turned on his partner, STEAMBOAT. After months of battling each other STEAMBOAT defeated SHANE DOUGLAS in a CAGE MATCH in which the loser would have to leave the NWA. But the fine print said that the loser could return after 6 months, and DOUGLAS did just that, now tonight he and STEAMBOAT renew their rivalry.

Match #5: SHANE DOUGLAS WITH FRANCINE defeated RICKY STEAMBOAT with a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX off the top rope in a bloody, bloody war (24:09). Nothing was held back and STYLES could not believe how brutal the two men were being to each other. Tons of near falls and reversals, just what you would expect out, STYLES calls it THE MATCH OF THE YEAR here in the NWA so far. After winning a bloody SHANE DOUGLAS mocked STEAMBOAT by pretending to kick dirt on him.

Match #6: THE FBI (DISCO INFERNO & LITTLE GUIDO) defeated STEVIE RICHARDS & THE BLUE MEANIE when GUIDO pinned MEANIE after a SICILIAN SLICE (6:39). Mostly a comedy match to cut some of the tension from the war before. MEANIE and DISCO even had a dance off, which MEANIE won according to the fans. RICHARDS almost got a pinfall on DISCO after a STEVIEKICK but GUIDO broke it up! MEANIE missed a MEANIESAULT and that lead to GUIDO hitting the SICILLIAN SLICE for the win.

Match #7: CACTUS JACK defeated JIM “THE ANVIL” NEIDHARDT with a DOUBLE ARM DDT (9:12). THE ANVIL put up a decent fight but JACK had his number completely. CACTUS JACK looks to be a huge force to be reckoned with here in the NWA, and STYLES has to wonder if JACK’S friend TERRY FUNK wins the NWA TITLE tonight, will JACK be the first man looking for a title shot???

Match #8NWA TV CHAMPIONSHIP: EDDY GUERRERO defeated JERRY LYNN to end LYNN’S 5 MONTH TITLE REGIN!! After hitting LYNN with a FROG SPLASH (13:29)!! A match that was billed as THE BATTLE OF THE FROG SPLASHES, this lived up to expectations and damn near stole the show. GUERRERO barely kicked out of a CRADLE PILEDRIVER early, but was really dominated most of the match. GUERRERO showed a ton of heart fighting back and eventually getting the win. After the match, LYNN strapped the TV TITLE around the waist of GUERRERO and raised his hand in a show of pure sportsmanship!

STYLES is sitting in the CROWS NEST and brings to us a video package on the feud between THE GREAT MUTA and SABU. STYLES talks about what lead us to the DEATH MATCH here tonight from SONNY ONOO turning on SABU to THE HIT SQUAD attacking SABU and finally MUTA blinding SABU two weeks ago, STYLES says SABU is still having vision problems that may hamper him here tonight.

Match #9 NWA INTERNATIONAL TITLE DEATH MATCH: SABU defeated THE GREAT MUTA WITH SONNY ONOO to win the title after he sprayed MUTA with a BLACK MIST!!!, set him atop two tables and MOONSAULTED FROM THE CROW’S NEST AND PUT MUTA THROUGH BOTH TABLES!!! (19:19) MUTA was unable to answer the ten count. SABU was at a loss for most the match, barely able to make out MUTA, SABU was down a total of 23 times to MUTA’S 3. Somehow SABU just kept coming back, even after being SUPERBOMBED off the top rope and through a table!!!

KEVIN KELLY is backstage with NWA WORLD CHAMPION OWEN HART. They talk about the CAGE MATCH that is coming up and OWEN says FUNK has no excuses. OWEN has no one with him, he is by himself, it’s man to man inside the cage, and the best man will leave with the NWA WORLD TITLE

Match #10 NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP LADDER MATCH: NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE ELIMINATORS defeated HARLEM HEAT WITH WOMAN to retain the NWA TAG TEAM TITLES when SATURN got the title belts. One of the biggest high spots of the match was BOOKER T missing a HARLEM HANGOVER off the top of the ladder. SATURN once again pulled his massive ladder out, set it up in the ring and dived off of it onto THE HEAT as they stood on the arena floor.

THE ELIMINATORS posed and celebrated in the ring after the match when the lights suddenly went out in the EXTREME ARENA when they came back on

JIM CORNETTE AND THE HEAVENLY BODIES were in the ring and attacking the weary ELIMINATORS!!! CORNETTE bashed KRONUS in the head with his tennis racket and they left the Champions beaten and bloody!!!

STYLES is shown up in the CROW’S NEST! he can’t believe what just happened!! CORNETTE AND THE BODIES HERE IN THE NWA?!?! STYLES runs down the history of the three men, then sends it to KEVIN KELLY who has caught up with them.

KELLY is running in the parking lot trying to catch CORNETTE AND THE BODIES once he does, CORNETTE rips into a promo, saying the NWA WORLD TAG TITLES have been synonymous with JIM CORNETTE and teams he has managed for the the last decade! CORNETTE asks if everyone really thought he wasn’t going to come back and take what was his? CORNETTE says he has just put the NWA on notice!!!!

STYLES talks about how the only thing that remains is the CAGE MATCH FOR THE NWA CHAMPIONSHIP. He goes over the feud between OWEN HART AND TERRY FUNK and all the issues that lead to this match.

Match #11 NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CAGE MATCH: TERRY FUNK regain the NWA WORLD TITLE after 18 YEARS!! when he defeated OWEN HART by pinfall (16:12). OWEN busted FUNK open on the cage early, but FUNK repayed the favor. The two men threw everything they had at each other, trying to put the other away. OWEN missed a MOONSAULT OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE! and that allowed FUNK to mount a comeback late in the match and hit a PILEDRIVER to get the win and the title!!! As soon as the cage opened, CACTUS JACK was there to celebrate with his friend!!! Soon the ring filled up with wrestlers congratulating FUNK on winning the title. PPV goes off the air with FUNK on everyone’s shoulders being paraded around the ring!!!
