01-11-95 - Hampton Beach Casino Hampton, NH"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Hampton Beach Casino in Hampton, New Hampshire. Poffo complains that he must have done something wrong in a past life to be this close to Canada again. They then talk about last week's show mentioning ECW Champion Arn Anderson's match with "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady, the announcement of a six-man Tag-Team match for tonight as well as Rick Rude's win over the Junkyard Dog. Lanny says he doubts "The Ravishing One" felt like much of a winner after Deep South crotched him on the steal ring post.Speak of the devil; Rick Rude's strip theme hits. He swaggers down the ramp but is walking kind of funny as he gets into the ring with Lady Alexandra whom he takes the mic from. He says to cut the music. Rude then tells Alexandra while normally it's a pleasure to see her; unfortunately he's having a bit of an equipment failure tonight; so to get lost. He then says speaking of failures last week the Junkyard Dog came up short of defeating him. Not only that; but while he'll confess it hurt quite a bit what him and his Deep South crony did to him after them match. Well? He's still standing. But enough of those losers. He's got plenty of time to settle that score. "The Ravishing One" made a promise to himself. And he's going to keep it. He defeated "Captain Redneck." He put down the Dog. Now all he wants is the Eastern States Championship. And Rob? He's coming for it.
Lady Alexandra then introduces the competitors in the first match of the night.Match: Luna Vachon vs. Jacqueline Moore After a well-pace back and forth battle Luna Vachon scores the upset when she nails former Champ Jacqueline More with the Luna Bomb corner slingshot splash; getting the three count from Danny Davis. Vachon looks more focused on her ringwork now that she has been separated from her manager the Lady Alexandra.
While Jacqueline is still recovering inside the ring Debbie Combs appears! She is with Women's Champ Beulah McGillicutty. Combs begins stomping on "Miss Texas" before lifting her up and trapping her in a full nelson. She signals for McGillicutty to come get some; but Beulah is reluctant. After some goading she finally decks Jacqueline and begins hammering on her when Leilani Kai appears on the ramp and races to the rescue! "The Hawaiian Princess" hits the ring and seeing her coming Debbie and Beulah bail out of the ring.Back from the break "Mean Gene" informs us that he's just been given word that ECW President signed an exciting Tag-Team match for next week in which Debbie Combs and Beulah McGillicutty will surely get their comeuppance as they face the team of Jacqueline Moore and Leilani Kai! "Poundcake" by Van Halen then hits as RVD comes out and the fans chant "Rob... Van... Dam!"Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Buck Zumhoff Ol' Buck Zumhoff does his best to keep up with the Eastern States Champion Rob Van Dam in this non-Title match officiated by S.D. Jones and puts in a good showing before getting pinned via the 5 Star Frog Splash. After the match Rob helps "Rock 'N Roll" to his feet and shakes his hands. The crowd eats it up. And so does Gene who calls RVD a class act. Heading back to the locker room Rob Van Dam is met by ECW correspondent Douglas Williams who asks him about Rick Rude's statement earlier this evening. Rob tells Doug he isn't worried. That as always if Rick Rude wants to try to take his Title; he's right here. But he'd better be prepared to see RVD prove once again why they call him "Mr. Wednesday Night."Match: Erin O'Grady vs. Dick Murdoch "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady uses his speed to dominate the first half of this match getting several near falls; but Dick Murdoch manages to keep himself in the game. When O'Grady whips him into the ropes and ducks too soon for a back body drop; Dick kicks him in the chops and takes over before eventually taking O'Grady down for good with a Calf Branding off the top. Davis raises "Captain Redneck's" hand in victory."Mean" Gene welcomes us back before remind us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine and that while tickets for the show are sold out; those folks at home should be sure to tune in right here on TNN The Nashville Network; home of Eastern Championship Wrestling. We're then told to get set for some big Six-Man Tag Team action!Six Man Tag-Team Match: The New Orient Express & Kaz Hayashi vs. Destruction Inc. & Doug Gilbert There seems to be some dispute between Mr. Fuji and Yoshihiro Tajiri who wants to start the match; but "The Diabolical One" wins out and Kaz Hayashi ends up starting things off with Doug Gilbert as S.D. Jones starts the match. The two men are well suited against one another and they trade off alot of high speed, high impact moves until Gilbert goes down hard when hit with the WA4 over the shoulder back to belly piledriver. It would've been the end had Mongo Vyle not broken up the cover letting Doug tag out to Rhino. "The Man-Beast" once inside pretty much tears Kaz Hayashi apart, eventually nailing him with a superplex off the top which looks to have broken him in half. Hayashi shows some impressive fortitude when he kicks out just before the three can be delivered. Unfortunately for Kaz his three opponents cut off the ring and keep him in their corner as the work him over, making the quick tags to keep their side fresh. Destruction Inc. however makes a mistake by not putting Hayashi out of his misery and when Rhino goes for The Gore striking spear, Kaz leaps up and tumbles over "The Man-Beast's" back before making the hot tag to Yoshihiro Tajiri. Rhino in the meantime has hit the corner hard and is in a daze setting him up for a springboard crossbody from Tajiri off the top rope which keeps him a near three. "The Japaense Buzzsaw" keeps on his opponent but Rhino's strength allows him to recover and the two men battle about the ring until after hitting the handspring back elbow; Yoshihiro traps Rhino in the highly illegal Tarantula hold. This takes the fight out of "The Man-Beast" who once released is soon hit with a guillotine legdrop by the now legal Taka Michinoku who hops over the top rope to hit it. Taka dominates a worn out Rhino until in a sudden burst of energy he scoops Michinoku up in a monstrous bearhug before running him crashing into his corner. There Rhino tags in Mongo Vyle who immediately stomps a mudhole into Taka. Lifting the much smaller man into the air he hammers him to the canvas with the Mongo Masher full nelson bomb and makes the cover. The count never comes however. Looking up he sees referee Jones arguing with Mr. Fuji who is up on the apron. Angered by this Vyle goes over and gets in Fuji's face while the ref goes off to deal with Yoshihiro Tajiri who is helping Taka to his feet. While Jones' back is turned however "The Diabolical One" cracks Mongo over the head with his cane! Vyle is seeing stars as a wobbly Taka Michinoku grabs him and lays him out with a swinging neckbreaker for the three!
Rhino chases Mr. Fuji about the ring as the Express grab their Tag-Team Titles and make a hasty exit. Kaz Hayashi however has stayed behind to plead with Mongo Vyle's woman Takako Inoue! He seems to be making the case that they beat Mongo and therefore she should come back to him. And it seems she agrees as she embraces Hayashi and plants one on him; just seconds before she lets him have it with a side Russian legsweep! Destruction Inc. and Doug Gilbert are soon on Kaz like a pack of jackals and take out their frustrations on him. This time The New Orient Express doesn't come to the rescue however. When Eastern Championship returns to air "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho is in the office of ECW President Eric Bischoff. He tells Bischoff he was incredible on Conan O'Brien the other night and Eric thanks him. He says that Pete Rose was overrated and lucky he was banned from the Hall of Fam because he wasn't going to get in anyway. At least now the old coot has an excuse. Jericho says that he'd like nothing more than to have the honor of showing Rose and the rest of the world the truth. That baseball players aren't true athletes. That all they do is run around a diamond and that's only if they manage to hit the ball in the first place. He says that even the least talented wrestler could destroy any pro baller in the ring. Because wrestling is the home of true athletes.
Eric says that he appreciates Chris' enthusiasm and even his ass-kissing; but that he's already chosen who is going to represent his company against Pete Rose. And that's "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam!
Whaaaattttt?!! Jericho is indignant. He says he has nothing against Van Dam other than he seems a bit out of it most times and thinks that jumping around like a jackass is impress; but that Chris Jericho; "The Long-Island Loud-Mouth" is the total package. Great mat skills. Amazing aerial maneuvers. Trash talking? Who better. Not to mention, lady killing good looks. That he is miles above Rob Van Dam and that the only reason he's permitted RVD to call himself "Mr. Wednesday Night" is because he already owns all the other days of the week. Even god needed a day off. Bischoff seems amused by this and tells Jericho he'll make a deal with him. If next week he can defeat Rob Van Dam; he'll give him the match against Pete Rose. Chris Jericho says that won't be a problem.Match: Matt Hardy vs. Scott Taylor Matt Hardy makes his debut in ECW tonight in the match officiated by Danny Davis. He puts up a good fight against Scott Taylor who with Arn Anderson in his corner beats Hardy by submission using the figure four leglock.Lanny thinks there's a conspiracy afoot when he reads that the next match will feature the debut of Jeff Hardy here at Eastern Championship. Okerlund informs Lanny us that the two young men from Cameron, North Carolina were both signed recently by ECW President Eric Bischoff and are in fact brothers. No conspiracy there Poffo.Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Rick Rude Rick Rude is still carrying himself a bit funny from the attack by Deep South last week. This gives Jeff Hardy and edge and he nearly pulls off an upset late in the match after hitting the Swanton high-angle senton bomb on "The Ravishing One" which gets him a two count. Rude however rallies back and ends up welcoming Jeff to ECW with a Rude Awakening followed by the three count from S.D. Jones."Mean" Gene Okerlund and Lanny welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening. Okerlund puts Arn Anderson over as the best pure athlete and Champion in the sport today.Main Event: Brickhouse Brown vs. Arn Anderson Brickhouse Brown wants the win tonight bad and puts up one hell of a fight which at one point spills to the outside where Brickhouse busts AA open by smashing him head into the guardrail. He makes several pin attempts along the way but the ECW Heavyweight Champ won't stay down long and after failing to pin Brown himself following an atomic drop; Arn Anderson eventually wins the hard fought brawl after connecting with the DDT.
Lights Fade.

1-18-95 - Cumberland County Civic Center Portland, ME"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! They then go over the happenings on last week's show including the beatdown Jacqueline Moore suffered at the hands of "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs and the Women's Champ Beulah McGillicutty before her rival Leilani Kai came to the rescue, the big six-man Tag-Team match between The New orient Express and Destruction Inc.; and ECW Champion Arn Anderson's win over "The Man of the Hour" Brickhouse Brown.
Lady Alexandra then introduces the competitors in the first match of the night. Tag-Team Match: Erin O'Grady & Doug Gilbert vs. The Hughes Brothers There's some good back and forth as Spike Hughes starts things off with Erin O'Grady until Spike gets a nearfall on "The Leprechaun" after hitting the diving double foot stomp and O'Grady manages to fight his way to his corner where he tags in "The Redneck" Rebel. Doug Gilbert uses an eye rake behind referee S.D. Jones' back to gain control of the match before swinging Spike into his corner and the waiting boot of Erin O'Grady. The two men use quick tags in and out to cut off the ring and work Hughes over until Spike manages to hit a desperation step-over spinning wheel kick while Gilbert has ahold of his foot. Spike scrambles to the corner and his two opponents give pursuit; but the little guy makes it and tags in big Devon Hughes. Charging "The Leprechaun" and "The Redneck Rebel" he takes them down with a diving clothesline. After a brief two on one skirmish O'Grady heads for the safety of their corner as Devon dismantles Doug Gilbert. After laying Doug out with a front powerslam; Devon tags in Spike and gorilla presses his partner on top of Gilbert. Spike then makes the cover and picks up the win. "Testify!" Backstage Chris Jericho is excitedly explaining to Big Bad John that him defeating Rob Van Dam tonight will just be a stepping stone for the "Year of Jericho" and after then after he defeats that old fossil Pete Rose...He's cut short as he walks around the corner and comes face to face with "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam. The two men stare at one another until John tells Jericho to save it for his match tonight. RVD responds "Whatever" after Chris turns and walks away.Match: Jeff Hardy vs. KAMA In this match officiated by Danny Davis Jeffy Hardy takes a pounding by the man called KAMA who nearly puts him down for the three count with the spinning side slam. After battling his way out of the STF Jeff makes a comeback and ends up pulling off a hardfought victory after hitting the high-angle senton bomb on a standing KAMA; sending both men crashing down to the mat. When we come back from break ECW President Eric Bischoff is seated at his desk going over paperwork when an irate Mike Sharpe storms in! His face is covered in pie? He is screaming at Bischoff telling him it's been two weeks now since he requested a match again Doink the Clown. That Doink cost him his match with RVD and now look at him! Eric is trying not to laugh but ends up doing so when he asks "Lemon Merangue?" Sharpe isn't amused however and Bischoff offers the big man a towel and a seat. "Iron" Mike takes the towel and wipes his face; but when he sits down a loud fart is heard. Leaping to his feet Sharpe tears the cushion off of the chair and finds a Whoopie Cushion?! He is furious and tosses the chair against Eric's wall shattering it to pieces. Eric now jumps up out of his seat and tells Mike to calm down. Sharpe growls that next week he wants that face-painted freak in the ring. And that when "Canada's Greatest Athlete" gets his hands on him; he's dead.Match: The Blitzkrieg vs. Brickhouse Brown The Blitzkrieg (surprisingly) isn't in a good mood either today and as Baron Von Raschke cheers him on he tears the unfortunate Brickhouse Brown apart before taking him down hard with a chokeslam for the three count from S.D. Jones.Okerlund welcomes us back from break and reminds us that next week ECW will coming to us live from the Albert L. Gutterson Fieldhouse in Burlington, Vermont. He says that while tickets for that night's show are sold out; folks at home should tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station of TNN The Nashville Network as usual. He and Lanny then go over the ongoing feud between Jacqueline Moore, the Women's Champ Beulah McGillicutty; and "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs.Tag-Team Match: Leilani Kai & Jacqueline Moore vs. Debbie Combs & Beulah McGillicutty Leilani Kai starts things off and dominates Debbie Combs who is soon looking for a tag. Beulah McGillicutty however looks like she wants nothing to do with "The Hawaiian Princess" and appears relieved when Combs is dragged back and pounded upon by the fired up Kai. The tables soon turn however when Debbie hits a snap DDT out of nowhere which gets her a near two. Keeping on top of Kai using her speed to her advantage; she tags in Beulah McGillicutty who goes up top and hits a double axe-handle on Leilani while Debbie holds her down. Beulah manages to keep the advantage for a few minutes until she grabs Leilani and Kai smacks her away. She then batters on the Women's Champ until she knocks McGillicutty down into her corner and begins choking the smaller woman out with her boot; getting referee Danny Davis involved. Jacqueline Moore wants in and Leilani hesitantly lets her in. "Miss Texas" immediately resumes the beat down on Beulah whom she mistakenly whips across the ring. On the rebound McGillicutty hits a picture perfect hurrancanrana dropping Moore. Quickly she makes the tag to Debbie Combs who pounces on Jacqueline. The two women battle back and forth until after resorting to a little hairpulling; Debbie Combs manages to nail Jacqueline with a German Suplex. Once the Champ is down a wobbly Combs tags in Beulah McGillicutty who once again goes up top and hits a moonsault on Jacqueline to pick up the win.Match: Jerry Lawler vs. Junkyard Dog The Junkyard Dog has been on fire of late which is quickly evidenced as he takes the fight to Jerry Lawler; catching "The King" offguard. Lawler isn't a pushover by any means and gives as good as he gets. Junkyard Dog looks to have won the match however aftrer nailing Jerry with several headbutts, the last of which has broken him open; before laying him into the canvas with the Thump! front powerslam. Just then however Rick Rude's strip theme hits and out from the back swaggers "The Ravishing One" looking for trouble. And he gets it. From Dick Murdoch?! "Captain Redneck" comes up from behind Rude and nails him with a hard right. The two men go punch for punch on the ramp. Meanwhile inside the ring a distracted Junkyard Dog hasn't seen that Jerry Lawler is back up on his feet! Spinning the Dog about, Lawler kicks him in the gut before lifting him up and nails him with the Piledriver! S.D. Jones is soon holding Lawler's hand high in victory. We're taken backstage to a gym where we see the "Macho Man" Randy Savage hard at work on the benchpress. He looks to be lifting alot while Debbie Combs looks on with Steve Corino spotting Savage. The gym door soon opens and in walks Scott Taylor followed by ECW Heavyweight Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson! The two men note that Savage is there lifting weights but shrug it off as Scott Taylor lies back on another benchpress and Anderson starts setting the weights for his protegee. Hearing the weights clanking together gets the attention of "Macho;" who sets his weights before sitting up.
He looks over at the weights Scott Taylor lifts and scoffs. He tells Anderson that Scott is nothing but a featherweight punk and isn't half as strong as his protogee Steve Cabana. Yeah. He says that his boy Steve Dorito can bench almost as much as Savage himself. Dig it. He says he wouldn't accept a protogee who could do anything less. He then orders a weary Corino to get down on that bench and show AA's punk up. Oooh yeah! Steve begins to tell Savage it's too heavy and receives a smack on his head for his efforts.
Reluctantly Steve Corino lies back and badgered by Randy attempts to lift the enormous weight while "Macho Man" spots him. Steve barely gets the weights off the rack when Savage gives a triumphant "Ooh yeah!" and leaves the gym! He's followed by Debbie Combs. Meanwhile Corino who's managed to get them down can't get them back up! Fortunately for him "The Enforcer" and Scott Taylor are there to help him lift the weights off his chest.
Mean Gene Okerlund is disgusted by how irresponsible Randy Savage is when we are brought back to ringside. Poffo of course blames Steve Corino for not trying hard enough.Match: Ronnie Garvin vs. Matt Hardy Matt Hardy doesn't fair well in this match officiated by Danny Davis. Ronnie Garvin dominates most of the match before delivering the Garvin Stomp on Matt followed by the Sharpshooter which has the worn out Hardy tapping in seconds. "Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the night. They then discuss what led up to tonight's big main event; the winner of this match to face off against Pete Rose at ECW' 2nd Pay Per View King of the Mountain. They recap Eric Bischoff's appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien during which Pete Rose made some disparaging marks about the sport of wrestling and Bischoff's challenge to Rose thereafter. Rose accepted the chance to face off against the ECW President's chosen representative at the PPV. Bischoff's choice being Eastern States Champion "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam. This of course didn't sit well with "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho who felt the better man; him; was passed over. Eric agreed to let Chris have this chance at defeating RVD here tonight to earn the shot against Rose. "Poundcake" by Van Halen hits and Rob Van Dam appears Eastern States Title over his shoulder as the crowd chants "Rob... Van... Dam!"
Alexandra: The following Match is scheduled for one fall. Making his way to the ring first from Battle Creek, Michigan weighing 237 lbs. he is the Eastern States Champion "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam!
RVD enters the ring with referee S.D. Jones and poses for the crowd before shaking hands with the ref. Just then "Thunderkiss '65" by White Zombie sounds as Chris Jericho bursts into the arena with Big Bad John in tow.
Alexandra: And his opponent this evening from Manhasset, New York weighing in at 226 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by Big Bad John; he is the self-professed "Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho!Match: Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam S.D. Jones starts the match and the two competitors size one another up. Chris Jericho fakes the Eastern States Champion out when he looks to want to lock up; but stops short and kicks Rob Van Dam in the gut. Jericho follows this up with a quick right and chops his opponent into the corner where he mounts the second rope and begins to choke Rob out. Jones is quick to break this up. Coming back to RVD, Chris whips him across the ring into the corner; but the ever agile Van Dam leaps up and connects with a springboard crossbody off the corner onto a shocked Jericho; getting a near two. Both men are quick to their feet but Jericho is soon taken back down to the mat with an armdrag. He gets back up only to fall victim to the second. Seemingly dazed Chris hobbles up to the ropes as Van Dam comes charging in with a clothesline. Seeing him coming; the "Loud-Mouth" welcomes him with a boot to the face. Seeing his chance as Rob reels from the blow, he charges forward with a clothesline; but Van Dam counters with a roundhouse kick that sends Chris down for a two count. Back up first RVD hammers Jericho with a series of kicks before Irish whipping him across the ring. On the rebound Jericho slides under "Mr. Wednesday Night's" feet popping back up behind him. RVD is quick to react with a legsweeo; but the equally agile Chris hops out of the way and knocks Rob's block off with a jumping corkscrew roundhouse kick. Making the cover he gets a two count. Keeping on the Champ Chris Jericho grabs Van Dam from behind and hits a suplex. Back up Jericho hits several elbow drops on Rob before mockingly pointing to his shoulders and chanting "Rob... Van... Dam!" to a chorus of boos. He then hits a final elbow drop before making another cover; almost coming away with a two. He then traps the seated Van Dam in a double chicken wing hold. The fans gets behind the Eastern States Champ as he fights his way up to his feet and spinning about lets loose with a series of elbows freeing himself from the "Long Island Loud-Mouth's" grasp. Rob gets several hits in before he whips Jericho into the corner. Holding onto Van Dam however Chris reverses sending Rob back first into the corner. Charging him Chris Jericho attempts a spear; but RVD has gotten out of Dodge and Chris crashes into the corner steel. This gives Rob Van Dam some time to recover and he begins hammering on his opponent before whipping him across; no; Jericho has reversed again! On the rebound Jericho goes for a clothesline, but RVD has ducked it and when Chris goes for a follow-up kick Rob grabs his leg, steps over; and takes him down with another roundhouse kick! Stumbling up to his feet in a daze Jericho finds himself in the corner and Rob capitalizes with several shoulder thrusts to the "Loud-Mouth's" mid-section before flipping over and going for another! Chris moves to stop it however and walks right into a Northern Lights suplex! RVD bridges it! 1!...2!... Jericho gets his shoulder up! 3! Keeping on Jericho, Van Dam helps him to his feet and attempts another whip into the corner only to have it reversed again as Chris goes bounding into the ropes and connects with a springboard bulldog! Catching his breath while RVD is down, Jericho heads for the ropes again. Springboard moonsault! Van Dam has rolled out of the way! While Jericho clutches his ribs writhing in pain Rob Van Dam gets up to his feet and hops up onto the top turnbuckle! He's going for the Five-Star Frog Splash! Wait! Big Bad John has Van Dam's foot! Angry RVD manages to kick John in the face before leaping from the turnbuckle! Jericho has moved! This time it is Van Dam's turn to hit the canvas hard! Taking advantage Jericho rushes in with a roll-up! 1!...2!... Van Dam kicks out! 3! Jericho can't believe it and argues with S.D. Jones as Rob stumbles up to his feet. He grabs Van Dam frpm behind. It's suplex time! But Rob bumps the ref as he wiggles free and lands behind Jericho going for a suplex of his own! Jericho kicks back nailing Van Dam in the groin. Jones turns. He didn't see it! Grabbing the Champ's legs out from under him Jericho has some trouble turning RVD over; but does it and locks in the elevated Boston Crab! Van Dam fights it and the fans rally behind him! Just then however Big Bad John pops up onto the apron! S.D. Jones goes and argues with him to get down. Behind him Van Dam has reached the ropes! Undaunted Chris Jericho pulls Rob off the ropes and drags him back into the center of the ring! Slowly John gets down off the apron allowing Jones to return to the match. Jericho still has the Boston Crab locked in and Rob Van Dam is sweating pain as he taps out! Jericho has won it! Jericho has won it! Climbing up into the ring Big Bad John hoists Jericho up onto his shoulder as they celebrate his victory.
Lights Fade.

01-25-95 - Albert L. Gutterson Fieldhouse Burlington, VT"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Albert L. Gutterson Fieldhouse in Burlington, Vermont for another action-packed edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling. They discuss last week's show; particilarly what Poffo considers a brilliant win by "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho over Eastern States Champion "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam. Okerlund says he can see that point of view if you're the shady sort who considers cheating clever to which Lanny simply replies "Sticks and Stones." They then go over tonight's card which will see "Iron" Mike Sharpe looking to get some payback on Doink the Clown and Women's Champion Beulah McGillicutty take on the woman she won the belt from; "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore. Speaking of Titles; the Tag-Team Champions will defend theirs against the team of Brian and Jerry "The King" Lawler. And in a huge Main Event in any part of the world... "Tito & Tarantula" by White Train cuts off the announcing team as ECW President Eric Bischoff cockily swaggers down to the ring. Bischoff thanks the Lady Alexandra when she hands him the microphone before thanking the crowd for coming down to see the greatest wrestling show on Earth today! He then says that as we all know by now; Eric Bischoff isn't one to hog the spotlight. Unlike some overweight has-been on another show who brings a new chapter to everything he touches. Chapter 11. So if he's in the ring it can mean only one thing: business. And what business does he have here today? The fact a talent who could barely score a win here in ECW, is now tearing his way through the NWA's ranks? No. Of course not. So why is he here then? Well Eric is glad you asked. He says that as we know that blowhard from another big city (and aren't they all), Cincinnati, Pete Rose claims that wrestling isn't a sport. That it's an entertainment. That the men here in this locker room are performers. Not athletes. And while if you've watched a certain show on the same channel as such reality shows as The Real World you may've been led to believe that. That we here at ECW on February 9th; just like the Baseball Commission before them; are gonna prove ol' Pete wrong. In a match. Now Bischoff had his heart set on "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam defending the business. He is the whole damn show after all; but a deal is a deal. And while he might not always agree with this man's tactics; he certainly can't argue with the results. So he'd now like to introduce this sport's represntative on February 9th at the King of the Mountain Pay Per View; ECW's own "Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho!Thunderkiss '65 by White Zombie sounds as Chris Jericho bursts onto the ramp. he's fired up and full of energy as he heads down to the ring and accepts a mic from Lady Alexandra whom he says just like ECW's ratings; just keep looking better and better! He then thanks Eric for this honor. For bestowing upon him the priviledge of kicking that blight on the MLB Pete Rose's ass on February 9th. For allowing him to prove once and for all. Definitively that the sport of wrestling; particularly here at ECW is the home of the greatest athletes in the world.Just then Pete Rose appears on the ramp microphone in hand looking like he has something to say about this. Rose questions if this big mouth, blowhard is really the best Eric Bischoff and this "sport" of wrestling can come up with? Because as far as he can see standing down there is nothing more than a punk kid who needs to cheat to win. That is if the match he witnessed last week is any indication.
Jericho seems outraged by this and keeps repeating "Cheat?!" He says that he guesses if anyone would know something about cheating it'd be old man Pete Rose. Cheated on his taxes. Cheated at baseball. Hell Pete Rose is pretty much just a cheat at life.
Rose interrupts Jericho saying that sure he's made some mistakes. Maybe he did some things he wasn't supposed to. But cheating at baseball wasn't one of them. He says that he bet on his own team. And he didn everything in hisn power to make sure they won. Because that's the point of sports. To win. And that at King of the Mountain Chris Jericho had better be damned ready for a fight; because "Charlie Hustle" is going to give it his all just like back in '75 and do whatever it takes to win. And Jericho had better be prepared to do the same.
Once the ring is clear Lady Alexandra introduces the compititors in the first match of the night. Doink brings his pet monkey Isabella down to ringside.Match: Mike Sharpe vs. Doink the Clown Canada's Greatest Athlete Mike Sharpe is true to his word and puts a world of hurt on Doink the Clown in this match officated by Danny Davis. Doink hangs in there however surprising many of his critics when he kicks out after being decapitated by Sharpe's running forearm smash just before the three count is deliver. Doink gets in some good offense throughout; but the end comes when Davis attempts to break the two men up with "Iron" Mike begins gouging the Clown's eyes with his thumbs and gets knocked over the top rope to the floor below. Doink drops to one knee and delivers a low blow before removing his clown shoe and smashing Mike across the face with it. Lanny calls this move "The Heel Turn." Mike Sharpe drops like a sack of bricks and Doink makes the cover just as Davis climbs back inside the ring to administer the three count. After the break "Iron" Mike Sharpe is pissed as he barks at ECW correspondent Douglas Williams. Sharpe removes an icepack from his head and says to look what that damned Clown did to him. He says that fool can't beat anyone without his little bag of tricks; but that's okay. Because Doink got lucky tonight; but he'll be laughing out the otherside of his mouth next time they meet.Match: Beulah McGillicutty vs. Jacqueline Moore Despite a good deal of outside interference from "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs; "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore picks up the win and a future Title shot from referee S.D. Jones after laying McGillicutty out flat with a beautifully executed DDT. Before the match Steve Blackman is standing with ECW correspondent Douglas Williams who asks him about his feelings about becoming a singles's competitor. Steve says "Good." When in steps Captain Lou Albano?! Captain Lou says that Steve Blackman is just trying to be humble. That he's glad that good for nothing partner of his "Lie on his Back" Steven Richards is outta here; working for a second-rate promotion where all dead weight ends up. If you understand the Cap'n. He says that "The Silent Assassin" has confided in Lou that he feels a great weight has been lifted off his shoulder. And that now with no more of that bumbling baggage to follow him and the Captain Lou Albano at his side he's ready to make his mark here in ECW. That he's going to show us who the real Excellence of Execution is. But enough talk. Just get yer asses in yer seats tonight to witness the birth of Albano's next World Champion. Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Steve Blackman Steve Blackman gives a martial arts demonstration in the middle of the ring before Danny Davis starts the match. Blackman and Jeffy Hardy put up a great fast paced match before Hardy misses the senton bomb and Steve Blackman delivers a bridged Fisherman's Suplex for the win."Mean" Gene and Lanny welcomes us back from the break and thank us for supporting ECW. They remind us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Commack Arena in Commack, New York. They say while tickets for the show are sold out; thos folks at home can catch all the exciting Eastern Championship action right here on ECW's home station TNN: The Nashville Network. They then discuss the next match in which The Lawlers will finally get the Title Shot they earned all the way back on December 7th of last year when they defeated The New Orient express.Tag-Team Championship Match: The Lawlers vs. The New Orient Express Brian Lawler starts things out with Taka Michinoku whom he catches in a side headlock as referee S.D. Jones starts the match. The two men give a nice demonstration of chain wrestling until the slightly larger Brian forces Michinoku down to the ground with a vicious arm wrench. The advantage is short-lived as Taka kip-ups and takes Brian down with a kick to the chest before tagging in his partner Yoshihiro Tajiri. While "The Japanese Buzzsaw" runs to the ropes Taka holds Brian in a headlock until Tajiri comes flying back with a baseball slide kick to the face of Brian. Keeping on his opponent Yoshihiro lifts Lawler to his feet and chops him into the ropes before going for an Irish whip. Lawler reverses it however; but on the rebound Tajiri shocks Lawler with a hurrancanrana! Brian goes down hard and Tajiri tags Taka Michinoku back in. Going up top Taka hits a diving knee drop on Lawler before making the cover getting a two before Jerry Lawler runs in and kicks him off! This gives Brian the breathing room he needs and leaping up he charges Taka into the corner with a shoulder tackle. He begins hitting Michinoku with several shoulder thrusts before letting him have it with a fist to the face. Taka fires back and the two men begin trading punches in the corner until Jerry grabs Michinoku from behind allowing Brian to connect with a standing dropkick. Scooping Taka up in a headlock Brian is unable to keep hold of the wiry Michinoku as they grapple about until Brian tags in his father Jerry Lawler. Together the Lawlers hit Taka hard with a double suplex. "The King" locks in a rear headlock and Michinoku begins to fade. Angry the Tag-Team Champs manager Mr. Fuji leaps up on the apron and begins yelling at Jerry. Distracted by this Jerry runs over and lets Fuji have it knocking him off the apron before doing the same to Tajiri. As he heads back over to Michinoku however he is tripped up by a drop toe hold! Taka Michinoku locks in an STF! Jerry's hand hovers over the canvas... but Brian Lawler has entered and pulls Taka off. He begins stomping the Champ as the ref orders him from the ring. Jerry looks to capitalize and grabs Michinoku looking for the Piledriver; but Taka counters with a back body drop! Diving toward his corner he tags Yoshihiro Tajiri back in. Charging in the "Buzzsaw" lets Lawler have it with several kicks before whipping him into the ropes and dropping him with the spinning heel kick! Brian once again comes to his father's defense but Tajiri ducks the younger Lawler's clothesline and knocks him through the second rope and out of the ring with a superkick! As Jerry stumbles up to his feet leaps on Lawler and transitions from a wheelbarrow to a bulldog! "The King" is down! 1!...2!... Jerry powers out! Yoshihiro hits a knee strike before having a whip reversed by Jerry sending him into the corner. As Lawler runs in Tajiri counters with an elbow to the face and hopping up onto the turnbuckle goes for a Tornado DDT! Jerry however has him scouted and throws him off into the ring. Jerry goes for a clothesline; but Tajiri ducks it and kicks Lawler. But Jerry grabs his foot to block. Yoshihiro leaps up. Enziguiri! Jerry drops again. Tajiri has it! 1!... 2!... Brian makes the save with a double axe handle! He begins beating on Yoshihiro illegally while Jerry recovers his footing. The Lawlers whip "The Japanese Buzzsaw" into the ropes but her counters with a double handspring elbow! Both of his opponents go down and Brian rolls from the ring. Sizing Jerry Lawler up Tajiri lets him have it with several chops and kicks driving him into the corner before locking in The Tarantula! Jones begins the count telling him to release the hold; but Brian Lawler breaks it up with a running elbow smash to Tajiri's back! As Brian turns to exit however Mr. Fuji lets Brian have it with a face full of salt! The younger Lawler goes down to the cement screaming while inside the ring Jerry Lawler stumbles to his feet. Yoshihiro Tajiri is sizing him up and as Jerry gets his bearings Tajiri lets loose with the Asian Mist! Jerry ducks it?! And scoops Tajiri up over his shoulders for a back body drop! He lets down his strap as he climbs up top! Taka Michinoku tries to stop him but arrives too late as "The King" goes airborne! The Flying Fist Drop connects! He makes the cover on Tajiri. 1!...2!...3! It's over! The Lawlers are the new Tag-Team Champions!Rick Rude's strip theme is playing when we return from break and the man himself is standing inside the ring swinging about the microphone. Now cut the music. He says if he can get all the vapid Vermont hayseeds in the arena tonight to shut the hell up for a minute; "The Ravishing One" has got something to say. Now he thought after he embarrassed a certain pair of porcine pugilists by putting them down for the 1-2-3 yet again they would've gotten the hint and given up. That Rick Rude thought given their age he'd take it easy on 'em. Let them still be able to pick up their grandkids on occasion. But apparently Deep South collectively have the IQ of the average Burlington native. So if they're looking to be shown up by a younger, leaner hombre chiseled to the pique of perfection and in his prime; well then come on out.Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" hits as Junkyard Dog and Dick Murdoch step out onto the ramp. JYD gets on the microphone and says that sure Rick Rude may be prettier than the ol' Dog and "Captain Redneck", and he may be younger; and he might be good with the talk; but he sure can't walk the walk. Because two weeks ago; sure Rick Rude put up a good fight. Brought the Dog down to his knees. But put the Dog down?! Uh uh! No way, no how. Unless his memory is a little hazy "The Ravishing One" got himself a win by DQ and the only DQ Junkyard and Murdoch care about is Dairy Queen. So if Rude wants himself a fight; he'd better be ready. Cause he's got one. February 8th. One night before King of the Mountain it'll be the rabid, the fired up; the sheer crazy Junkyard Dog against "Ravishing" Rick Rude in a Off the Chain Match!
Murdoch then gets on the mic and says that for someone like Rick Rude who's from the North; he might be wondering what that means. Well "Captain Redneck" is gonna explain. It's a Chain Match boy. Only with a slight variation. Sure JYD and Rick Rude will be tied together just like him and the ol' ball and chain back at home are; only in this match someone's gonna have to submit. And the way to submit? Well that's simple. All you have to do is get down on your knees and beg the referee for it. And if he's nice enough to give it you you? Then you'd best hope your opponent is feelin' similarly generous to let you use it!
Rick Rude doesn't seem to like this turn of events at all.Match: Scott Taylor vs. Brickhouse Brown Scott Taylor is flying solo tonight in this match officiated by Danny Davis. It's obvious that Taylor is giving Brickhouse Brown more of a fight than he bargained for; but in the end Brown puts "The Superstar" down with the swinging neckbreaker.Match: Chris Jericho vs. KAMA Things are looking good for Chris Jericho out there until Pete Rose shows up with a baseball bat?! He kneecaps Jericho's pal Big Bad John at ringside! Leaning over the ropes "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" shouts at Rose who looks really pleased with himself. Turning back toward the ring Chris walks right into the waiting arms of KAMA who introduces Chris to a pump-handle slam before making the cover and getting the three count from S.D. Jones.Mean Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening. They then discuss the long-standing rivalry between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson since ECW's initial broadcast. They inform us Eric Bischoff signed off on this non-Title King of the Mountain preview match we will witness here tonight. The last time these two men met inside the ring taking place on December 1st at Wrestle Annual. At that point the "Macho Man" being the reigning Champ. Now the tables have turned; with Savage set to challenge Anderson for the belt on February 9th at the second annual King of the Mountain event; only on Pay Per View! This match may indeed be just what we witness on that huge night two weeks from today.
Alexandra: the following non-Title contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Sarasota, Florida weighing 237 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs; he is "The Macho Man" Randy Savage!
Pomp and Circumstance then hits as "Macho Man" Randy Savage emerges from the back with Debbie Combs and Steve Corino in tow. After posing inside the ring Savage has Corino stand still outside before he removes his coat and hat; and uses Steve as a human coat rack. Just then Arn Anderson appears on the ramp alone with the ECW Title around his waist. He signals toward the back and Scott Taylor joins him on his way down to the ring.
Alexandra: And on his way to the ring now hailing from Rome, Georgia and accompanied by Scott Taylor; weighing 255 lbs. he is the ECW Heavyweight Champion; "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson!Main Event: Randy Savage vs. Arn Anderson The second Arn Anderson steps foot inside the ring Randy Savage is on him with the boots! As Arn gets to his feet Randy hammers him into the corner while Danny Davis starts the match. Grabbing Savage by the head AA reverses their positions and nails "Macho Man" with several shoulder thrusts in the corner before attempting a whipe. Randy grabs hold of the top rope to stop himself, kicks him in the gut and drops Anderson with a couple hard rights. He begins kicking the downed Champ before lifting the big man to his feet and running him across the ring; dumps him on the outside! Following Arn outside Randy beats on the Champ as he tries to regain his footing with the guardrail. He slams AA face first into the guardrail before gouging his eyes a bit earning the ire of the ref; and finally lifting Arn to his feets slams him face first into the guardrail. Savage is on fire as he kicks and punches Arn on the outside; pausing only to break the Count Out. Lifting "The Enforcer" back to his feet Randy rolls his opponent back inside the ring. AA is back up and hits Savage with a double axe-handle as he reenters. Keeping his edge he beats Randy about the ring before going for the Irish whip. But Randy reverses and goes for the back body drop. Too early as Arn counters with a sunset flip! Savage doesn't go over however and keeping his footing "Macho Man" reaches down and begins beating Arn down until Arn throws him off. Randy is undeterred however and grabbing Arn as he gets to his feet whips him across the ring and connects with an inverted Atomic Drop! As Anderson catches a breather on the ropes Randy comes in with a running clothesline. The weary Arn ducks it however but while he is still recovering Savage goes up top and drops the ECW Champ with a double axe-handle before making the cover. Close two count. Lifting him up he chokes Arn against the top rope for a bit before whipping him into the ropes and knocks "The Enforcer" off his feet with a back elbow. He makes the cover getting another two before lifting Arn up and hammering him into the corner and starts to choke him out until Davis steps between them. This give Arn Anderson the breather he needed and stalking Randy he kicks him in the gut before dropping him to the mat with an armbreaker. This looks to have hurt Savage's arm as keeping on him Arn grabs it and forces it against the ropes getting his own warning from the ref. Then dragging "Macho Man" to the center of the ring in an armwrench; he pulls him close and hits him with a scoop slam. Randy rolls on the floor in pain as AA puts the boots to him; but the savvy Savage rolls outside. Not done with him Arn is in hot pursuit. It's obvious Randy was playing a bit of possum however as he turns about and kicks Anderson in the gut before running him into the guardrail and heading back to the ring. A bit dazed Arn follows only with get hit by another clubbing double axe handle and he reenters. AA seems unphased as he grabs Savage by the same arm and pulls him over with an armdrag he then transitions into an armbar! Randy screams in pain but refuses to quit as Arn tears at his arm; occasionally leaping up from a kneeling position to drive his knees into Randy's exposed limb. Randy rolls free and backs away but Arn keeps on him with a shot to the gut. Grabbing Randy's arm Anderson leaps down to the mat taking Savage down with him. He's really working his opponent over as he drags him toward the ropes and slides out of the ring. Still having hold of Randy's arm Arn hammers it against the steel post! Climbing back inside the ECW Champ locks in a chicken-wing armbar as Randy screams in pain. Sweat is pouring down his face as Arn attempts to make him submit. Randy seems to be in tears when from behind Debbie Combs grabs Anderson's boot! Arn doesn't let go however as the ref yells at her. But it's just the opening Randy needs to slip out just enough to punch Anderson in the face. He fires again and again causing AA to release the hold! Back on his feet Randy hammers Anderson into the corner. It's obvious Savage is hurting and he stops to rub his arm. AA attacks with a clubbing blow before whipping Randy into the corner. He charges in but Randy leaps up and kicks "The Enforcer" in the face! He tries again only to once again taste boot. This time "Macho Man" goes for the kill and swings for the clothesline! Arn ducks it and nails the DDT! This is it! It takes Anderson a little too long to make the pin and Savage gets his foot up on the bottom rope at 2! He thinks he's won it; but the ref shows him the leg on the rope. Moving back to his opponent the ECW Champ hits a knee drop before grinding it into Randy's face. The ref stops him and Arn lifts him up catching Savage in a front headlock. "Macho Man" pushes himself free however knocking Anderson into Danny Davis. He's clumsy tonight. Debbie Combs is in the ring? And she back rakes Arn Anderson! Luckily Scott Taylor is there to make the save as she screams for him not to touch her. He chases her out of the ring. Randy is up and lets Arn have it! As he reels from the punch Arn Anderson soon finds himself hoisted up into the air and nailed with a pildriver! Davis is back up just in time to deliver the three count! Savage defeated Anderson! He celebrates inside the ring with Debbie Combs.
Lights Fade.
