Announcers: Ken Resnick, Hillbilly Jim, Jerry Jarrett
This show is being taped for future VHS release.
Hillbilly Jim comes out and danced with some of the fans to the sweet sounds of “Don’t Go Messin’ With a Country Boy”. Oh that Jim, what a character. Jim sits down at the announcers table with Ken Resnick and the legendary Jerry Jarrett.
Jim mentions that in Mudlick, where he’s from, he was the watermellon spitting champion of the county, but even with the Corn Cob King and the Pie Eating Contest winner all in the same place, he’s never seen this many champions in one place.
Ken Resnick and Jerry Jarrett agree, it’s a world class collection of wrestlers here tonight. Both are proud to be a part of this video exclusive event.
”Wildman” Sal Bellomo vs. Don E. Allen - 1 fall, 15 minutes
The opening match is a back and forth affair that see both the local stalwarts put in their all. Bellomo is able to pin Allen when he catches his opponet climbing the ropes and is able to grab him for a power slam,
Winner: Sal Bellomo via pin @ 5:27
Johnny Hot Body vs. The Samoan Savage - 1 fall, 15 min
Hot Body puts up a good fight, but the mad man from Samoa is to much for him. Savage picks up the pin following a top rope splash.
Winner: The Samoan Savage via pin @ 4:18
Back in the interview area, Bruce and Keith Hart give a brief interview with Hillbilly Jim. They say that they’re here not only to represent the Hart Family, but to represent all Canadians. They know the reputation of Barr and Condry, but they’re here to win.
Western Providence Tag Team Championship
Bruce & Keith Hart (Ch) vs. Dennis Condry & Jesse Barr - 1 fall, 30 min
Condry and Barr come out first to the “Midnight Express” theme, a nod to Condry’s legendary past as a tag team expert. The Hart Brother’s come out the familiar sounds of the NWA Champion’s theme song. An excellent match sees both teams come close to victory, but in the end, the inexperience of the Condrey and Barr as a duo is too much to over come, and the brothers win when Bruce captures Jesse in a figure four.
Winners: and STILL Western Providence Tag Team Champions, Bruce & Keith Hart
Pretaped interviews with LLM Jr. Hwy. Champion Halloween and his challenger Agulia are translated and shown.
Halloween says that no young jerk like Agulia is going to take his title from him.
Agulia says that he might be young, but he’s the top contender and he isn’t going to let this chance get away from him.
Lucha Libre de Mexico Jr. Hwt. Championship
Halloween (Ch) vs. Agulia - 1 fall, 45 min.
The crowd is on it’s feet for this match. Both men fly around in and out of the ring, never pausing for even a breath. Resnick and Jarrett are at a loss for words to describe the action. Several near pins keep the crowd on their toes, and the end comes when Halloween tries to hit a top rope superplex on Agulia, loses his footing and tumbles to the mat. Agulia nails a moonsault and gets the upset win over the champion.
Winner: and NEW LLM Jr. Hwt. Champion, Agulia via pin @ 16:41
For the live crowd, it’s a 15 minute intermission.
Pennsylvania State Champion The Rockin’ Rebel is interviewed, he says that while he’s happy to share the stage with such great wrestlers, Philly is HIS back yard, and he’s going to show the world wide audience why he’s ready to leave this dump.
Challenger JT Smith repeats what a great show it’s been, and says tonight is going to be his night.
Pennsylvania State Championship
The Rockin’ Rebel (Ch) vs. JT Smith - 1 fall, 30 min
Smith looks like he has the Rebel on the ropes, but the champion is crafty and while the referee is distracted, nails Smith with the belt, knocking him out and pinning him.
Winner: The Rockin’ Rebel via pin @ 6:41
Prior to the match starting, Resnick reminds anyone with small children or who may be disturbed by blood might want to fast forward this match, as the two teams have been trying to get into each others locker rooms all evenning and have promised a brutal match.
Myers and Osbourne are interviewed first, and say that they’ve heard that the Rottens are pretty tough, but they’re in Philly now, and it’s time the Rottens learned what east coast hardcore is all about.
The Rottens say that they’ve heard that this is the city that booed Santa, and that’s just fine, because they’re so bad, he never came to their house anyway.
Hack Myers & Glen Osborne vs. Ian & Axl Rotten - 1 fall, 30 min
Myers and Osborne are attacked from behind while making their way to the ring. They quickly recover and the 4 men brawl in and out of the ring. Ringposts, chairs, even the time keepers bell are used. The teams brawl their way to the back after 5 minutes or os, as the referee throws the match out.
Winners: No Contest
A bloodied Myers and Osborne make their way back out the ring. They grab the house mic and challenge the Rottens to a rematch next month, this time if the Rottens want to use weapons, why not just have both teams bring their own.
Ian and Axl come out and are kept from ringside by officials, but agree to the rematch.
August 13, TSWA will return to the Blue Horizon, and the first match will be Glen Osborn & Hack Myers vs. the Rottens in a No DQ, Bring Your Own Weapons Match!
AAA and GWF Champion Konnan, the hottest man in wrestling at the moment is interviewed in a pre taped segment at his villa in Mexico. He says that no one can touch him right now and that he has an open challenge to each and every champion in the world, and by the end of 1994, he’ll be recognized as the real world champion. One World, One Champion he says.
AEWA and BWA Champion Tony St. Claire is interviewed. He says most English wrestlers like to put titles in front of their names. Lord this, Gentleman that, Earl something else. Well, Tony St. Claire isn’t some limp wristed nancy boy from public school, he learned to fight on the docks and the only title he needs is that of Champion, and tonight, he’ll have two more under his belt.
Titles vs. Titles
Tony St. Claire - All England Wrestling Association Champion & British Wrestling Alliance Champion vs. Konnan - AAA Champion and Global Wrestling Federation Champion - 1 fall, 60 min.
First out to the ring is the Englishman, Tony St. Claire. The announcers speak of his long career and the titles he’s held all over the globe, and how he is no doubt at the peek of his career. St. Claire slowly makes his way to the ring while “We Are the Champions” plays over the PA.
Next out is the AAA and GWF Champion, the incredible Konnan. He slaps hands with the crowd on the way to the ring to “Insane in the Membrane” by Cyprus Hill, and again all around the ringside, before leaping into the ring over the top ropel
St. Claire looks unimpressed, but the two do slap hands before locking up. Their styles contrast, as Konnan is used to the faster pace of American and Mexican wrestling and St. Claire prefers to grind it out. Clash in styles not withstanding, Konnan is able to pull out a win following an elevated DDT.
Winner: and NEW AEWA & BWA and STILL AAA and GWF Champion, Konnan.
Konnan poses for the 4 belts for the many photographers in attendance, especially from Japan, in town for the for the Triple Crown match later in the evening. He tells them to let the Triple Crown champion know that he is one better than him, then leaves the ring.
Next, WWC Champion the legendary Carlos Colon is interviewed. He says that he’s faced many a big man, and Haynes might have the brawn, but he certainly doesn’t have the brains that have kept this title in Colon’s possession the better part of two decades.
The challenger Billy Jack Haynes says that he’s held titles all over the world, and while he may have been out of the spotlight for the past few years, he’s been training hard and the WWC title is his first step on the way back to the top.
WWC Heavyweight Championship
Carlos Colon (Ch) vs. Billy Jack Haynes - 1 fall, 45 min.
Carlos goes to shake Billy’s hand, but Billy slaps it away. From there the match is heated and both men end up bleeding as Haynes uses his strength to wear down the Puerto Rican legend. It seems like it’s over when Haynes clinches his devistating Full Nelson on Colon, but he’s too close tot he ropes, and Colon is able to kick off the ropes and land on top of Haynes and pin him while still in the Full Nelson.
Winner: Carlos Colon via pin @ 9:52.
Colon is shown being interviewed by some of the Japanese contingent as the next match prepares to begin.
Much of the ring side area and entry ramp are filled with press from Japan. Resnick and Jarrett mention that this match headlined for a sold out 60,000 in the Tokyo Dome just laxst month, a match that went to a 90 minute draw. The fans in attendence here are in for quite a treat.
All Japan Triple Crown Championship
Mitsuharu Misawa (Ch) vs. Atsuhi Onita - 1 fall, 1 hour
Onita comes out first and stretches as he waits for the champion to come to the ring. On the way to the ring, Misawa has words with Carlos Colon, who is still being interviewed. They might not speak the same language, but the shoving and pointing to their belts and the ring gives away what they may be talking about.
Once in the ring, the two put on a clinic of wrestling. Back and forth they go, and several times the title seems ready to change hands, and the flash of so many cameras make the wrestlers appear to be working under strobe lights at times.
In the end, some of the fans get their money’s worth, as Misawa retains his title after a Tiger Driver.
Winner: Mitsuharu Misawa via pin @ 32:19.
As he is announced the winner, it is also announced that next month, Misawa will return to the Blue Horizon and face Carlos Colon, that in addition to that, the big rematch, the Bring Your Own Weapons Match - the Rottens vs. Hack Myers & Glen Osborne. Tickets can be bought tonight in a special pre-sale or in a week, when the entire card is announced.
