Monday Night Raw 5/7/95


• We kick the show off with a replay of last week, showing WWF Champion Bret Hart and five time former WWF Champion Hulk Hogan brawling as RAW went off the air. Vince says both Hogan and Hart are here, just 6 short days before Hogan faces Austin in a Last Man Standing Match and Hart puts the WWF Title on the line against Big Van Vader in an I Quit Match!


• Our first match pits The Kid against Chris Candido w/Sunny, Sunny joins Vince, HBK and Heenan on commentary for the start of the match. She puts Candido over and says he is much more of a man than Mero ever was. Candido and The Kid are two of the best young wrestlers in the world today and they put on quite a show, several nearfalls that wow the crowd including a super hurricanrana that The Kid hits on Candido when Candido tries for a Super Bomb. Sunny finally leaves the broadcast booth when it looks like Candido’s goose might be cooked. Sunny distracts referee Tim White as The Kid connects with a missile dropkick!!! The Kid pins Candido but White isn’t there to count as he is still being distracted by Sunny. The Kid gets off Candido and comes over to pull White away from Sunny, Candido uses this to try and pin The Kid with a roll up and a handful of tights, but the Kid kicks out at the last second!!!

Sunny throws one hell of a temper tantrum! The Kid gets Candido rocking again and damn near takes his head off with a spin kick!!!! Sunny though trips The Kid up as he runs the ropes!!!! Sunny tries to act innocent like she didn’t do anything, suddenly Marc Mero comes running down to the ring!!!! He grabs Sunny by the arm and is yelling at her. Candido stops attacking The Kid and rushes to the ropes!!! Candido is yelling at Mero to let go of Sunny, The Kid gets to his feet, spins Candido around, kicks him in the gut and hits a sit out face buster!!!!! The Kid makes the pin and gets the three count!!!


Mero jumps into the ring and attacks Candido!!!! Mero hits Candido with several jabs and goes into the Mero Shuffle, but before he can unload with the Kiss that Can’t Miss, Candido drops to the apron and rolls out of the ring!!! Candido and Sunny escape up the aisle as Mero dares Candido to get back into the ring!!


• Jim Ross is backstage with Ted Dibiase, Bam Bam Bigelow, and the man who will challenge for the Intercontinental Title at In Your House : 2 the Xtreme, the undefeated Hakushi! Ross asks Dibiase if he is worried at all about the repercussions of Hakushi burning the Undertaker two weeks ago? Dibiase doesn’t want to talk about the Undertaker, the Undertaker was given a choice, a chance, a golden opportunity, he refused it and he paid the price. Now tonight someone else will pay the price, AHMED JOHNSON!!! Dibiase says tonight Ahmed will face Bam Bam Bigelow in a non title match and says that he has instructed Bam Bam to leave just enough of Ahmed for Hakushi to finish off Sunday Night in the Falls Count Anywhere match!!!


• Last week The Roadie had all that he could stomach of the Honky Tonk Man and handed in his resignation, a clip is shown of Roadie bashing HTM in the head with the guitar. Back live, HTM is in the ring with a microphone and he is pissed. Honky says tonight he is going to slap the Roadie around and teach him his place, and then he is going to sing his song for all the good people here tonight!!


• The Roadie defeats The Honky Tonk Man by DQ when HTM breaks his guitar over The Roadie’s head in clear view of the referee!! Vince puts The Roadie over on commentary, revealing his name is Jesse James Armstrong a former Marine who served in Desert Storm and who is a member of the Armstrong Wrestling Family. The Roadie really had HTM’s number, and Honky knew it, which is why he tried to scramble The Roadie’s brains with the guitar! After the match HTM grabbed a microphone and announced that The Honky Tonk Man was leaving the building.


• WWF Tag Team Champions The Godwinns defeated former WWF Champion Bob Backlund and Rick “The Model” Martel when Henry pinned Backlund after a Slop Drop. During the match a dual spilt screen is shown with the two teams that will be challenging the Champions this Sunday at In Your House: 2 the Xtreme, The Smoking Gunns and the Hart Foundation Duo of Brian Pillman and Jim Neidhardt. Both teams vow to win with Pillman saying that he and The Anvil have black souls and will be happy to reach down and rip out the still beating hearts of their opponents to win the title belts!!!


• To close out hour 1, The British Bulldog met Hunter Hearst Helmsley in a big time brawl. Helmsely and Bulldog traded control of the match several times, but The Bulldog got the win after backdropping out of a Pedigree then catching a charging HHH with a scoop, tossing HHH on his shoulder The Bulldog planted him in the center of the ring with the Running Powerslam for the 1-2-3!!


• Hour two kicks off with a Vince McMahon standing in the middle of the ring and inviting out WWF Champion, Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Vince hands the microphone to Bret and then exits the ring. Bret says he wants to take this time to talk about what happened last week as Raw went off the air. Bret says that he and Hogan let their tempers get the better of them, and they have smoothed things out, but still they have some unfinished business. Hart talks about Wrestlemania IX and how after Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji used a handful of salt to steal the WWF Title from him, Hulk Hogan somehow found himself being challenged by and defeating Yokozuna not 5 minutes later. Bret says that Hulk Hogan is the WWF, he will always be the WWF because it was Hulk Hogan who blazed the road that they are all on today.


Bret says he may be the WWF Champion, but everyone still looks to Hogan as the man here and being in the shadow of the Hulkster is a hard thing to do. Hart says he has no problem personally with Hogan, but in order for Bret to be able to come out here and say he is The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever Will Be then he has to prove it, and how he proves it is by beating Hulk Hogan in the center of the ring!!!! So Bret is making a challenge, it doesn’t matter what happens this Sunday at In Your House: 2 the Xtreme, no matter the outcome of his I Quit match with Vader or Hogan’s Last Man Standing Match with Austin, Bret is challenging Hulk Hogan to meet him one on one at King of the Ring!!!!


Before Bret can say anything else, Big Van Vader’s music hits. Vader comes down to the ring and gets right in Bret’s face. Vader says Bret is overlooking him and the I Quit Match this Sunday Night and that is a big mistake. Vader says for the last 10 years he has travel the world, North America, South America, Japan, Souteast Asia, Europe, Africa, he has traveled the world, he has ended careers and he has broken backs and crippled men, but the one thing he has never done is say the words I QUIT.


Vader says Hart can make all the challenges he wants, he can call out anyone he wants to call out, he can try and prove whatever it is he wants to prove, but none of it will matter, because this Sunday, not only is Vader going to make Bret scream I Quit, but he is going to end Bret’s career once and for all. Vader throws down the microphone and leaves Bret standing in the ring.



• The Blu Brothers, Jacob and Eli make their return to action after several weeks in which Jacob recovered from injuries he suffered in his match against Ahmed Johnson to battle the team that has been a thorn in their sides recently, Men on a Mission!! Not the prettiest of matches as the four big men just hammered each other. During the match Vince, Heenan and HBK talk about what just happened. HBK says he wants to be right at ringside to see Hart vs Hogan, but Heenan points out that he doesn’t believe Bret can survive the I Quit Match this weekend with Vader. While the three continue the debate, Eli (?) pins Mo after a double big boot!! Vince says that Jim Ross will get Hulk Hogan’s reaction NEXT!!!!


• Jim Ross is backstage with five time former WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan. Hogan readily accepts Bret Hart’s challenge for King of the Ring. Talk then turns to his Last Man Standing Match with Steve Austin this Sunday Night, Hogan says Austin has taken all this too far, he invaded Hogan’s house, scared Hogan’s family, he has been on Hogan at every turn since December and Hogan is tired of it. Hogan says this Sunday he is going to end it once and for all!!!!!!


• Owen Hart w/Brian Pillman and Jim Neidhardt defeats Bob Holly by submission with a Sharpshooter. After the match the Hart Foundation pulls a ladder out from under the ring and slides it in to Owen. Owen sets the ladder up, climbs to the top with a microphone in hand and once he reaches the top, has a seat and addresses The British Bulldog.

Owen says that The Bulldog knows he can’t beat Owen in the Ladder Match, Bulldog also knows that there are no rules in the Ladder Match, so he is going to be outnumbered this Sunday Night. Owen says that while he and his family have their problems, he still loves his sister Diana. He tells Bulldog not to show up, because Owen doesn’t want to break Diana’s heart by breaking The Bulldog’s leg!!!!

Owen then turns his attention to his brother Bret. Owen says Bret is challenging Hogan, battling Austin, battling Vader, but Owen knows why Bret is doing it, Bret is just scared of Owen and is ducking him anyway he can because he knows Owen holds a pinfall over Bret, right in the center of the ring, on the Raw right before Bret won the WWF Title. Owen says he is owed a title shot, and Bret won’t be able to duck him forever.


• “Stone Cold” Steve Austin defeated Savio Vega with the Stone Cold Stunner. Austin rips Vega apart, taunting Vega and yelling out at Hogan. Austin looks like a man possessed as he beats on the Latin Sensation. Vega gets some offense in, but Austin is a steamroller tonight, and Vince says that doesn’t bode well for Hogan this Sunday!


• Jim Ross is backstage with Intercontinental Champion Ahmed Johnson, Ross says that Ted Dibiase sure has stacked the deck against Ahmed heading into In Your House: 2 the Xtreme this Sunday Night by putting him against the monster Bam Bam Bigelow here tonight! Ahmed says the deck has always been stacked against him, all his life and he still has fought his way to becoming the first black Intercontinental Champion ever! Ahmed says that tonight Bam Bam Bigelow is going down and then this Sunday, Hakushi is going for a Pearl River Plunge!!!

Just then “Stone Cold” Steve Austin walks up. Austin stares at Ahmed and then points at the Intercontinental Title belt. Austin says Ahmed has something that belongs to him, and if he still has it after Sunday Night, he will be coming for it after he has taken care of Hulk Hogan. Ahmed says any time Austin wants to get his ass whipped again, Ahmed will be glad to do it. The two stare each other down as we go to break


• In the Main Event, Intercontinental Champion Ahmed Johnson meets Bam Bam Bigelow w/Ted Dibiase and Hakushi in a non title match. Bigelow and Ahmed have a pure strength based brawl, Ahmed shows off his amazing strength when he launches Bigelow across the ring. The two men end up brawling on the floor to a double count out. After the match Hakushi jumps on Ahmed Johnson!!! Ahmed tries to fight both Bigelow and Hakushi off but can’t do it and soon they have Ahmed down in the middle of the ring. The two men are on the opposite top ropes about to hit stereo flying headbutts when the lights suddenly go out!!! When they come back on Ahmed is no longer in the ring!!!!! The Undertaker’s Bong sounds in the arena several times!!!! Dibiase, Hakushi, and Bigelow look spooked as Raw goes off the air!!!!!

1) Savio Vega defeats Salvatore Sincere with a Gordbuster after catching Sincere off the ropes with a spin kick.

2) The Roadie and Men on a Mission defeated The Honky Tonk Man and The Blu Brothers when Mabel pinned HTM after a Big Splash.

3) Bam Bam Bigelow w/Ted Dibiase defeated Bob Holly after catching Holly when Holly tries for a crossbody block off the top rope, throwing him on his shoulder and dropping Holly on his head with the Bigelow Spike

4) Chris Candido and Hunter Hearst Helmsley w/Sunny defeated Marc Mero and The Kid when Candido pinned Mero with his feet on the ropes. Mero had Candido in the corner and was unloading on him with punches, Candido dropped down, sweeped Mero’s legs and pinned him, using the corner ropes for extra leverage to get the three count!

5) Rocky Maivia defeated ”The Model” Rick Martel when Maivia connected with a Super Samoan Drop in a hard fought contest where Martel took Maivia to school, yet could not put the third generation superstar down for the count.

Ross and McMahon are excited that the fans have chosen to join them fo what is going to be a unique night of action!!! Every match tonight will be fought under different rules and all will invite the superstars to take it 2 THE XTREME!!!!

Owen Hart Titantron

And we are kicking things off with the Ladder Match for the European Championship!!!! Owen heads out to the ring and as expected is flanked by Jim “The Anvil” Neidhardt and Brian Pillman!! Ross says that the Hart Foundation’s plan is simple, strength in numbers, overpower the competition. Since the only way to win the Ladder Match is to retrieve the belt, there is no disqualification and the rest of the Hart Foundation can interfere at will, Vince says that this could turn into a 3 on 1 handicapped match!!!

British Bulldog Titantron

The British Bulldog is out next, but he stops halfway up the aisle, and has a microphone in hand.

British Bulldog:I see you brought your friends Owen. (Pillman is the ring is rubbing he hands together and Owen is shaking his head yes) Well I thought about what you said, and since you have your friends with you, I called two of my friends and asked them to come back me up!!!!!

Still Nasty (Nasty Boys Mashup Theme)

THE NASTY BOYS COME OUT OF THE BACK!!! THE FORMER WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS ARE BACK!!!!!

The Bulldog high fives The Nasty Boys and then the three hit the ring!!! The brawl breaks out as soon as they do until the babyfaces clear the ring, leaving Owen, Pillman and the Anvil on the arena floor complaining about the Nasty Boys presence.

LADDER MATCH FOR THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP:

The two men break into a fast paced wrestling match to start, trading holds and reversals until Davey attempts a powerbomb and Owen hurricanrana's out of it. Owen tries to for an enziguri, but Davey ducks it, then grabs Owen and hits a release german suplex that just plants Owen with a sick thud!!!! Davey climbs out of the ring and heads for the ladder but Brain Pillman and Jim Neidhardt jump him!!!!v The Nasty Boys don't like that very much and come to Davey's rescue!!! The Nasty Boys and the Hart Foundation begin brawling and end up fighting each other into the crowd!!!!!!

That gives Davey the chance to grab the ladder!!!!

Davey tries to bring the ladder back into the ring, but Owen hits a baseball slide, slamming the ladder into Davey's face!!!!!! Owen climbs the ropes and as Davey gets to his feet he launches himself off the top with a body block onto Davey on the floor below!!!!!! Owen taunts the crowd as he gets to his feet, leaving Davey in a heap on the floor!!!! It’s ladder time as Owen grabs the ladder and slides in into the ring!!!! Owen rolls into the ring and picks up the ladder, but Davey rolls in as well and nails Owen forcing him to drop the ladder!!! Davey whips Owen into the ropes and drops his head for a backdrop but Owen kicks him the clotheslines him down!!! Owen grabs the ladder and rams in into Davey's gut several times!!!! Owen drops the ladder and bodyslams Davey onto it!!!! Owen climbs to the top rope and splashes Davey, sandwiching him with the ladder!!!! Owen then grabs the ladder and tries to set it up. Owen has trouble with it at first, but finally gets it up. Owen begins to climb the ladder. Davey tries to get up, using the ladder to crawl and then grabs Owen's foot!!! Owen kicks Davey off, then jumps off with a leg drop onto Davey from the top of the ladder!!!!!!

BUT DAVEY MOVES AND OWEN CRASHES TO THE MAT!!!!


Davey is the first man up, but slowly. He makes his way to the ladder and starts to climb it. Owen is up a few seconds later and starts to climb the ladder on the opposite side. They reach the top a few seconds apart. The two trade punches on top of the ladder!!! Owen rakes Davey's eyes and then shoves him off the ladder!!! Davey gets to his feet and grabs the ladder, he starts shaking it and TURNS THE LADDER OVER, DUMPING OWEN TO THE MAT!!!!!


Davey gets the ladder back up and folds it up. He tries to set it up in the center of the ring again, but Owen somehow climbs back to the apron, climbs the top rope and hits Davey with a missile dropkick, forcing him to drop the ladder!!!!!Owen keeps the ladder folded up and sets it up in the corner, he then tries to whip Davey into the ladder, but Davey reverses and sends Owen crashing into the ladder!!! Owen falls backward to the mat and the ladder then falls on top of him!!!!! Davey stomps the ladder on top of Owen!!!!! Davey then sets the ladder back up, Davey begins to climb the ladder when Brain Pillman leaps the guardrail with chair in hand, Knobbs is further behind, and the chair looks like Pillman may have bashed Knobbs with it!! Pillmaquickly slides in the ring and bashes Davey in the back with it!!! Davey collapses off the ladder!!!! Pillman doesn't get a chance to celebrate though because Knobbs is soon in the ring and all over Pillman!!! Knobbs and Pillman roll out of the ring and continue to fight on the floor and back into the locker room!!!

Owen slowly gets to his feet. He sees Davey down and out and begins his slow climb up the ladder. Owen gets about halfway up when Davey tries to stop him. Davey starts grabbing at Owen and shaking the ladder. Owen kicks Davey back, then turns around and leaps off the ladder at Davey and tries for a hurricanrana, but Davey instead powerbombs Owen into next week!!!!!

Davey collapses and both men are lying on the mat!!!!

Davey and Owen slowly get to their feet, Owen uses the chair on the mat to push himself up. Davey is standing in the corner and Owen tries to part his hair with the ladder, but Davey moves and Owen slams the chair down onto the top turnbuckle and hurts his hands!!! Owen drops the chair and turns around to Davey who clotheslines him out of the ring!!!! Davey then begins to climb the ladder. Davey is just about to the top when Owen comes off the top rope with a double ax handle to save the match!!!! Davey falls off the the ladder!!! Owen grabs Davey, kicks him in the gut and hits a piledriver!!!! Owen then does something no one is expecting and CLOSES UP THE LADDER?!?!? Owen measures Davey, then runs with the ladder and blasts Davey in the face with the ladder, running the top step into Davey's jaw!!!!! Owen drags the ladder over to the corner, climbs the top rope and RIDES THE LADDER DOWN ONTO DAVEY!!!!

ROSS YELLS THAT DAVEY IS DONE!!!!! THERE IS NO WAY HE COMES BACK FROM THIS!!!!

Owen takes some times to celebrate, taunting the crowd, pointing to the belt and saying it's coming home. Owen finally gets his head back in the game and sets the ladder up!!! Owen starts to climb the ladder. He gets close to the top and his fingertips touch the belt!!!

DAVEY SOMEHOW GETS TO HIS FEET AND IN DESPERATION DROPKICKS THE LADDER OVER!!! OWEN GOES FLYING OUT, OVER THE TOP ROPE AND CRASHES TO THE CONCRETE FLOOR BELOW!!! ROSS SAYS OWEN DAMN NEAR WAS BROKEN IN HALF!!!


OWEN ISN'T MOVING AS DAVEY STARTS TO CLIMB THE LADDER.


OWEN FINALLY STARTS TO STIR BUT COLLAPSES BACK DOWN TO THE CONCRETE FLOOR CLUTCHING HIS HEAD!!!


DAVEY REACHES THE TOP OF THE LADDER AND GRABS THE BELT!!!


DAVEY BOY SMITH HAS REGAINED THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP AND WON THE LADDER MATCH!!!!!

WINNER: AND NEW EUROPEAN CHAMPION THE BRITISH BULLDOG DAVEY BOY SMITH

Ross and McMahon are breathless after the match, they show several highlights of the high impact action. In the ring the Nasty Boys have shown up to celebrate with Davey as The Hart Foundation are trying to help Owen to his feet, Vince says if this match is any indication of what tonight is going to be like then we are in for one wild ride!! We then head to our first commercial break

Back from the break and Vince sends us to the back to Michael Hayes who is with the WWF Champion Bret “The Hitman” Hart.

Michael Hayes: WOW!! What a ladder match!!! I’m here with the WWF Champion as he prepares to face the man they call Vader later here tonight for the WWF Championship in an I Quit Match, but Bret I have to ask you, what is your reaction to what just happened out there? Your brother in law The British Bulldog just regained the European Title from your brother Owen!!!

Bret Hart: Well I’m glad the Nasty Boys were here to watch his back and keep those two jackals, Jim Neidhardt and Brian Pillman, from costing him the match again. I’m very proud of Davey and I’ll congratulate him later tonight, after I have taken care of some of my own business with Vader.

Michael Hayes: Speaking of the I Quit Match, how in the world can you prepare for something like that? Especially against a man, a monster of a man like Vader? You can’t just win this match by pinning him, you have to force him to say I Quit, and Bret, Vader doesn’t look like the guy who will say I Quit to anyone.

Bret Hart: That may be the case Michael Hayes, but desperate times calls for desperate measures, this issue with Vader and I has to be settled and it has to be settled in a way that leaves no question as to who is the WWF Champion. Vader is big, Vader is bad, but the bigger and baddier they are the harder they fall, and tonight Vader is going to fall to the Excellence of Execution!!!

Before Hayes can answer another question, HULK HOGAN walks up to Bret!!!! Hogan and Bret have a tense stare down for several seconds before Hogan speaks

Hulk Hogan:You know something brother, it takes a big man to challenge Vader to an I Quit match, just like it takes a big man to challenge the power of Hulkamania, man. So I know you are one bad dude Bret Hart, now go out there tonight and show everyone watching just how bad you are man, just like later tonight I am going to be the last man standing when I put “Stone Cold” Steve Austin like the rabid dog his he, man. Then you and I can settle the differences between us at King of The Ring brother, with no distractions and no excuses.

Hogan puts out his hand and Bret shakes it, but the two never take their eyes off each other in a very tense situation!!!!


Back at ringside the Hart Foundation hasn’t left, Pillman is on the microphone and is running down the crowd, the censors are working overtime as Pillman launches into a profanity laced tirade that only stops when the Smoking Gunns music hits!!!

Vince and Ross say that the Three Way Dance is next, The Gunns drop their gear and slide into the ring, Pillman and Anvil jump on them and the four men are brawling before the WWF Tag Team Champions even make it to the ring.

The Godwinns- 1st Theme

The WWF Tag Team Champions come running down the aisle themselves, not wanting to miss out on the brawl!!! They slide in and go right at it with their opponents!!!!

Ross runs down the rules for the match and makes sure to point out that the Godwinns do not have to get pinned to lose the titles. The Godwinns completely clean house of their two opponents, tossing both members of the Hart Foundation out of the ring and going to work on The Smoking Gunns, Billy gets jettisoned out of the ring and Bart is on the recieving end of a hellacious beatdown. Bart is getting tossed all over the place as The Godwinns smack him around. The Hart's decide to stay on the floor and watch as Bart gets beat like he stole something. Phineas whips Bart into the corner, Henry goes to whip Phineas into Bart, but BIlly reacehs into the ring and pulls Bart out of the corner before Phineas connects!!!

Phineas crashes into the corner!!! Henry tries to attack the Gunns, but they backdrop him out of the ring, they grab the dazed Phineas, whip him into the ropes and drop him with a double flapjack!!! Billy makes the cover but only gets a two count as The Hart Foundation pull him out of the ring and off the cover!!!! The Harts grab Billy, lift him up and drop him throat first across the ring barrier. Pillman slides into the ring and pins Phineas!!!!

PHINEAS KICKS OUT!


Pillman and The Anvil now start tagging in and out, beating Phineas down. They get to cocky though and Phineas ducks a double clothesline and then runs through both men with a massive clothesline!!!! Bart slaps Phineas in the back and tags himself in!!! Bart grabs Pillman and sidewalk slams him in the center of the ring!!! Bart makes the cover, but both Henry and The Anvil break it up!!!! Henry and The Anvil start slugging it out!! Henry whips The Anvil into the ropes and drops him with a big boot. Henry turns around just in time to get kicked in the gut by Billy and then dropped to the mat with a Rocker Dropper!!! Phineas hits the ring and eats a double dropkick for his troubles!!!! The Gunns then grab Pillman and hit the Sidewinder!!! That's gotta be it!!! Billy makes the cover!!

It clips to Bam Bam Biglow making his return to the WWF and distracting The Undertaker, then it shows Hakushi throwing fire and burning the Undertaker before pinning him !!! The video then clips to this passed Monday Night Raw and Ahmed Johnson battling Bam Bam Bigelow. Ahmed was about to be hit with stereo flying headbutts from Hakushi and Bam Bam when the lights go out, when they come back on Ahmed is gone and the Undertaker’s Bong sounds.

A video plays outlining the Hogan-Austin rivalry, starting back on Christmas Eve at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it includes their battles, Austin giving the Stunner to Roddy Piper who had a broken neck, Austin piledriving The Ultimate Warrior on the announce table and sending him out of the WWF, Austin stealing the win against Hogan at the Royal Rumble, Austin eliminating Hogan from the Rumble and Hogan then pulling Austin out of the ring, the Falls Count Anywhere match from the February edition of SNME and the double knock out, Hogan costing Austin the Intercontinental Title that he had held for 14 months to Ahmed Johnson, the Steel Cage match at Wrestlemania where Hogan won by escaping the cage, but Austin got revenge by beating Hogan down with a steel chair after the match, and finally goes all the way up to a couple of weeks ago when Austin burst into Hogan’s house during a special interview Vince was conducting with Hogan. We then go to the back and to Michael Hayes who is with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

Hayes says if tonight wasn’t already taking it to the extreme, then this just pushed it way passed. Hayes just spoke with WWF Champion Bret Hart about this added stipulation and he is HAPPY about it. Hayes says Bret is glad that there will be no questions as to who the true winner is here tonight!!!! Hayes says he has been trying to speak with Vader all evening and hasn’t been able to get into Vader’s dressing room and that Vader has thrown many people out who have tried to speak with him. As soon as we come back from commercial Vader’s music hits and the mastodon makes his way down to the ring! Jim Ross has been joined for commentary by Gorilla Monsoon, they talk briefly about how Hulk Hogan has been rushed to a local hospital and Vince McMahon is on his way as well to be at Hogan’s side. They then talk about this match, and about how adding the steel cage to it makes it all the much more dangerous. Vader checks the cage before climbing in. Ross says he would not want to climb into the cage with a monster like Vader, Monsoon says no one would want to, except for the WWF Champion.

Ross and Monsoon wonder if what happened to Hogan is on Hart’s mind at all, Monsoon says it has to be, because there is a very real chance Hogan isn’t going to be at King of the Ring, Ross says there is a very real chance Bret won’t be climbing out of this cage to be at King of the Ring either.


Bret kisses the title and hands it to Earl Hebner. Earl shows the belt to Vader, Vader just shoves Earl down!!! Earl puts the microphone in the ring and quickly leaves out the door. Earl chains the door shut and calls for the bell!!!!

Bret is actually giving as good as he gets, but Vader boxes his ears several times and then drops Bret with a short arm clothesline!!!! Vader then grabs Bret and slams him face first into the steel!!!! Vader isn’t done and slams Bret a second time and then a third time into the steel cage!!! Vader yells at Bret “WHO’S THE MAN?” Vader grabs the microphone, and starts choking Bret with the wire!!!! Vader is choking Bret and tells him to say I Quit, but Bret refuses!!! Vader hits Bret with the microphone a couple of times before unwrapping the champion. Vader hurls Bret into the corner and starts to unload with vicious and vile body shots!!! Vader slams Bret’s head into the steel cage again and opens Bret up!!!!!

Vader starts targeting the cut on Bret’s head and just pounds on it. He grabs he microphone and tells Bret to say I quit and Bret refuses!!! Vader slams Bret to the mat!!! Vader ten goes over and takes the turnbuckle padding off one of the turnbuckles!! Vader whips Bret chest first into the exposed turnbuckle and Bret crashes hard!!! Bret is having a hard time breathing, but that doesn’t stop Vader who bashes the hell out of Bret some more. Vader pulls the mic again and again Bret refuses to quit. Vader climbs the ropes and comes off the top rope with a big splash on the bloody champion!!! Vader poses some before asking Bret if he gives, Bret barely is able to say NEVER!!! That does not make a happy Vader!!!!

Vader is pounding on Bret, he lifts Bret up for a snake eyes on the exposed turnbuckle, but Bret slips out and runs Vader into the exposed steel!!! Bret then grabs Vader and slams Vader’s head into the steel cage not once but twice!!! Vader rips his mask off as blood is now pouring from his head!!! Bret claws at the cut on Vader’s forehead opening it up even more!!! Bret gets the microphone and asks Vader if he quits, but Vader says no!!! Bret hits Vader with the microphone several times, and asks again, but again Vader says no!!!! BRET BITES VADER’S CUT!!!!!!!!! Ross says Bret must have been taking pointers from Freddie Blassie!!!!!

Bret just punches at Vader’s cut again and again, soon both men are complete crimson masks!!!! Vader is refusing to give up and is telling Bret to keep pouring on the punishment!!! Bret is happy to give Vader what he wants!!! Vader gets to his feet, yelling WHO’S THE MAN at Bret every time Bret punches him!!! Ross says Vader is out of his mind!!!! Vader now answers back Bret’s punches, hammer Bret who huge blows that would shatter a normal man!!!! Vader rips at Bret’s cut!!! Vader then hits the powerbomb on Bret!!!!

With Bret down, Vader heads over to the exposed turnbuckle and STARTS TO TAKE THE CORNER APART!!! Monsoon doesn’t understand what in the hell Vader is doing!!! Vader completely dismantles the top turnbuckle!!! Vader takes the metal turnbuckle hook and tries to jam it in Bret’s cut!!!!! Bret blocks it and after several moments of struggling is able to kick Vader off!!! Vader drops he hook and Bret waffles him with it!!! Vader crashes to the mat!!!! Bret now tries to drive the hook into Vader’s cut!!!! Vader is holding the hook away from his head, but Bret is trying to push it in. Vader finally kicks Bret away!!! Bret tries to rush Vader and gets nailed with a Vader Avalanche that sends the bloody champion down in a heap!!! Vader drags Bret to a corner that is still intact!! Vader looks to climb the ropes for a moonsault or Vader bomb, but it won’t hold him because he took the other corner apart, so Vader DECIDES TO START CLIMBING THE CAGE!!!!! Ross says if Vader hits a moonsault on Bret from the top of the cage they are going to have to just end the match, Bret won’t be able to say he quits because he will be dead!!!! Vader starts climbing the cage, but it’s taking him too long and Bret is able to get to his feet, and now Bret is climbing the cage!!! The two men reach the top at the same time and start slugging it out, both teeter on the edge off falling a couple of times, but then Bret grabs Vader and HITS A SUPERPLEX OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE!!!!!!


It takes several minutes for either man to move, but when someone does it’s Bret!!! Bret staggers over to the broken top rope, he drags it over to Vader and WRAPS IT AROUND VADER’S NECK!!!! BRET IS PULLING ON THE TOP ROPE CHOKING VADER!!!!! VADER STARTS TO YELL!!! YES!!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!I QUIT!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!


EARL HEBNER CALLS FOR THE BELL!!!!! BRET HART HAS DONE THE IMPOSSIBLE!!! HE HAS MADE VADER SAY I QUIT!!!!!!

WINNER: AND STILL WWF CHAMPION BRET “THE HITMAN” HART!!!!

A bloody and bruised Bret gets the title belt and climbs to the top of the cage, Bret shows the belt off for all to see as a bloody Vader lies defeated in the ring!!! Ross and Monsoon thank the USA Network for allowing the WWF to take it 2 the Xtreme tonight!!! They thanks McDonalds, and Sega for allowing them to bring all the action to the fans with limited commercial interruptions, and they thank the fans for watching!!! Raw comes on the air with Vince , Heenan and Shawn running down what happened at 2 the Xtreme, Heenan is extremely happy because Hulk Hogan was wheeled out of the building on a stretcher and isn’t anywhere to be seen!!! McMahon says calls to Hogan have not been returned after the beating he received from Stone Cold Steve Austin in their Last Man Standing Match, another person that hasn’t been heard from is Big Van Vader after saying I Quit he has apparently left the WWF in embarrassment. The Smoking Gunns regained the WWF Tag Team Titles in a Three Way Dance, Ahmed Johnson retained the Intercontiental Championship when he pinned Hakushi ON THE HOOD OF A CAR!!! Plus The Nasty Boys returned to the WWF to back up the British Bulldog in his Ladder Match against Owen Hart and with The Nasty Boys keeping Pill and the Anvil in check, Davey was able to climb the ladder and regain the European Championship!!! Tonight we will have a first round match in the King of the Ring Tournament, and a big tag team match as and the Nasty Boys take on the Hart Foundation!!!!


Heenan is still laughing about what happened to Hogan at 2 the Xtreme when “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s music hits!! Austin heads down to the ring much to the surprise of everyone. Austin grabs a microphone.

Steve Austin: At In Your House, I did something that shoulda been done a long time ago when I put Hulk Hogan in the retirement home where he belongs!!!! I beat Hogan from one side of this ring to the other, and in the end I was the Last Man Standing and Hogan got wheeled out of here just like his buddies Roddy Piper and Ultimate Warrior did before. Now that is out of the way, I got my two beady eyes on one thing, and one thing only and that’s the WWF Title. Bret Hart, you come out here in your little pink tights and you tell everyone how you are the best there is, was and ever well be, well all I got to say to that is NUH UH!!!! Right here, standing in this ring is not only the toughest son – of – a – bitch in wrestling today but the best damn wrestler to ever lace up a pair of boots, and can’t no one tell me otherwise! Owen Hart’s music hits and he leads out the Hart Foundation, Pillman is his normal mad self ripping a sign away from a fan and just about brawling him, but The Anvil pulls him away. Owen grabs a microphone of his own before climbing into the ring.


Owen Hart: You know Steve, while I would like nothing more than to see you do to my no good brother Bret what you did to that overrated dinosaur Hulk Hogan, we have one problem, you see no one is going to beat Bret for the WWF Title BUT ME!!!!

Brian Pillman: Austin, you and I go way back, you did something that all of us have been wanting to do for a long while, but also at In Your House a great travesty of justice was perpetrated on the Hart Foundation when The Nasty Boys helped screw Owen out of the European Title, now tonight, The Anvil and I are going to teach them a lesson about keeping their nose out of other people’s business, now Steve, I’d hate to have to teach you that same lesson, so you better step aside, take back that challenge because if anyone is challenging Bret Hart for the WWF Title at the King of the Ring, it’s Owen.

Steve Austin: Is that right? So what you are saying to me is that you want me to put this little microphone down, walk to the back with my tail between my legs and let Owen here have a shot at the WWF Title at King of the Ring? Is that right?

Pillman is shaking his head yes.

Bret Hart: Don’t stop on my account, I would like nothing more than to see you jackals tear each other apart. As far as King of the Ring goes, well whoever I defend the WWF Title against isn’t up to me, if I could I’d face both of you and show both of you what the meaning of Excellently Executed is. But if the two of you want to wrestle me so bad, how about tonight you two team up and face the Bulldog and I?


Steve Austin: I don’t need no stinking partner to whip the two of you, Owen you just stay in the back if you know what’s good for you while I open a can of whoop ass on those two jackasses.

Owen Hart:Well I don’t want to team with you, so why don’t YOU stay in the back, I’m ten times the wrestler Bret or The Bulldog are, I am the best wrestler in the family and I will prove it later tonight when I beat both of them ALL BY MYSELF!!!!

We’re back and first we see footage from the break of Austin and Owen just about coming to blows. Vince says the it’s official later tonight WWF Champion Bret Hart will team with The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith to face Owen Hart and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, whether Austin and Owen want to team or not!!!! Vince wonders how in the world the two will be able to work together at all tonight and says Bret and The Bulldog may just have to stand back and watch Austin and Owen tear each other apart!!!

HTM sticks his head in to break the count, then walks around the ring, still making the time out sign. Honky is stalling like mad as he sticks his head back in again to restart the count. The Kid finally has enough and hits a pescado on HTM!!!! The Kid rolls HTM back in the ring and Honky begs off!!! He is on his knees begging, but then puts a thumb in The Kid's eye!!! HTM pushes Kid back into the corner and unloads with punches. HTM then tries to whip the Kid into the opposite corner, but The Kid reverses it and hits the Stinger Splash on HTM in the corner!!!! Brian Knobbs They can look for revenge if they want Jim Ross, but all they are gonna find is a one way trip to NASTYVILLE!!!

Knobbs starts with Niedhardt, they go to a collar and elbow tie up and after pushing off each other a couple of times just start clubbering each other!!!! Knobbs beats Neidhardt down. Tag to Saggs, they whip Neidhardt into the ropes and drop him with a double back elbow. Saggs gets Neidhardt in the corner and beats him down. Saggs body slams Neidhardt down and makes a cover, but only gets a 1 count. Saggs whips Neidhardt into the ropes, tries for a back elbow, but Neidhardt ducks! Neidhardt comes back and both he and Saggs connect with clotheslines, but neither budges!!!! Neidhardt tells Saggs to hit the ropes this time, he does and they once again connect with cloteslines that have no effect on the other!!! Neidhardt now runs the ropes, Pillman slaps Neidhardt on the back to make the blind tag, Neidhardt ducks a clothesline from Saggs, and Pillman hits a springboard clothesline on Saggs that sends him crashing to the mat!!!! Hayes thanks Vince and says that he has been on the phone all day with doctors and friend of The Hulkster, he says Hogan isn’t just beaten physically, but mentally as well. He isn’t talking to anyone, he is refusing to see any of his wrestling friends and is in a deep, deep depression, one source who would only speak confidentially said that he doesn’t believe we will ever see Hogan in the WWF again! Hayes says he hopes that his source is wrong, but everything he is hearing is pointing in that direction. Hayes says he will bring us more information on the situation as it presents itself.

Mero has a Mero Blaster with him and fires confetti out to the crowd, Radford thinks that sucks and attacks Mero from behind with a double sledge. Radford tries to send Mero into the ropes, but Mero reverses and hits a FrankenMero on Radford. Radford slides outside of the ring to catch a breather; Mero goes to the top rope and hits a Randy Savage-esque double sledge on Radford. Mero rolls Radford into the ring, goes up to the top and hits the moonsault!! Cover!!

Radford starts stomping on Mero as we go to a split screen and Vince speaks with Sunny and Chris Candido. Candido will be facing Latin Sensation Savio Vega in a King of the Ring Qualifying match next. Sunny says it will be easy, just like it was easy for Candido to beat Mero here on RAW a couple of weeks ago. Vince says that's not entirely true as Sunny had allot to do with Mero's loss. Vince says Mero will be facing Jim “The Anvil” Neidhardt next week with the winner going onto King of the Ring and if Mero wins that match and Candido wins his match then Candido and Mero will meet in the opening round of the King of the Ring. Sunny says that would guarentee Candido would win the whole thing, since he would have the advantage of an easy match. Sunnys says though Mero has to not only beat The Anvil, but survive tonight and he doesn't look so good in the ring right now. The split screen ends and we go back to live action as Radford has firm control of Mero. Radford grabs a chinlock using the ropes for leverage. Mero fights out but Radford catches the running Mero with a powerslam!! Radford covers!

Vince says there is something about Waylon Mercy that doesn’t sit well with him at all. They then talk about In Your House: 2 the Xtreme and the Intercontinental Title Match. They show footage of The Undertaker returning and taking out Bam Bam Bigelow, and then Ahmed Johnson hitting the Pearl River Plunge on Hakushi on the hood of a car to win the match! Vince says that his going to talk to Ted Dibiase later in the program and find out what’s next for Dibiase and his team, and what they plan to do about the Undertaker!!!

Vega does a little salsa dancing in the ring while Sunny checks on Candido who keeps asking what just happened. Candido finally gets back in the ring, the two lock up and Candido grabs an armbar then switches to a hammerlock. Savio escapes and hits a cresent kick!!! Vega makes the cover!!
