WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING presents:
Houston, TX Astro Arena February 6, 1995 Announcers: Tony Schiavone Mike Tenay & Steve “Mongo” McMichael Ring Announcer: Dave Penzer Interviewer: Todd Petingill Referees: Scott Dickinson, Charles Robinson & Mickey Jay *Tony Schiavone ”The Professor” Mike Tenay and Steve “Mongo” McMichael welcome us to WCW Monday Nitro, coming to you live from Houston. Tony announces that the legend from Japan, Antonio Inoki, is here tonight to sign the contract for his match against WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair at the Clash of the Champions! Tonight’s main event will be WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Sting defending against former champion Stan Hansen. Mongo mentions that he hopes Sting wipes the floor with Hansen tonight. We will also have Greg Valentine taking on Craig Pittman. Plus, Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman team up to face the visiting British team, Alex Shane and Robbie Brookside and The Great Sasuke takes on former WCW World Cruiserweight Champion Dean Malenko. Tony also said he hopes we will not have a visit from The Outsiders tonight, but unfortunately one can never tell when they will show up. Right now, let’s go up to the ring as we get a preview of the WCW World Tag Team Championship match at the Clash of the Champions when Kurasawa takes on Flyin’ Brian Pillman. Mike, Tony and Mongo throw it up to Dave Penzer to get this edition of WCW Monday Nitro under way… 1) Kurasawa (w/ Tiger Ali Singh) vs. Flyin Brian’ Pillman: Once the bell rings, Flyin’ Brian goes to lock up with Kurasawa, but Kurasawa nails him with a palm strike to the chin. Kurasawa then lays into Brian Pillman with a series of chops to the throat and then takes Flyin Brian’ down with the hip toss. Kurasawa goes for a fist drop, but Flyin’ Brian moves out of the way and Kurasawa accidentally drives his fist into the mat. Brian Pillman is up and he nails Kurasawa with a high knee and then connects with a dropkick, but Kurasawa kicks out just before the three count. Flyin’ Brian then connects with a hurricanrana to the chest that sends Kurasawa to the outside. As Flyin’ Brian looks around at the cheering crowd, Kurasawa rolls back into the ring and goes for a sneak attack, but Flyin’ Brian is one step ahead of him and catches him with a big right hand that sends Kurasawa flying to the outside once again. Kurasawa regroups with Tiger Ali Singh on the outside, when the lights go out In the arena. The lights stay out for several seconds, and when they come back on – there’s something in the middle of the ring! The camera zooms in – it’s a scorched Cincinnati Bengals jacket! Pillman looks at the burned jacket in horror as Kurasawa sneaks up behind him. Flyin’ Brian sees him coming and decks Kurasawa. He tries to pick him up for a slam, but Kurasawa blocks it and bashes Pillman with an elbow to the back of the head. Kurasawa then pulls Pillman in and levels him with a backbreaker! Kurasawa makes the cover to ge the three count! WINNER: KURASAWA *Todd Petingill is standing by after the match at ringside with a furious Flyin’ Brian Pillman, who has received a series of bizarre messages over the last month. Todd mentions that a druid first delivered Kevin Sullivan’s wrestling boots, then a golden spike and finally last week we heard what appeared to be Kevin Sullivan’s voice cackling in the area. And now, this burned jacket has cost him a match to Kurasawa! Pillman is beside himself as he shouts for “Sullivan” to show himself if he has any guts. The lights in the arena suddenly dim and odd music which features Sullivan’s maniacal laugh on a loop begins playing. Pillman rolls into the ring at this point and urges Kevin Sullivan to bring it on! Smoke fills up the entrance way and after a few seconds, marching down to the ring are: . . . . . . *Fans, we know that’s Kevin Sullivan although he is dressed very differently, but who is this other man? Pillman looks a little freaked out as Sullivan stops at ringside and then motions for this masked man to take out Pillman! The man steps into the ring and Pillman charges, but the masked man wipes out Flyin’ Brian with a spinning wheel kick! Flyin’ Brian tries to pull himself back up, but he gets a boot to the stomach and a brutal implant DDT! Brian Pillman is splayed out now on the canvas as Kevin Sullivan grabs a microphone and enters the ring. Sullivan: “PILLMAN!! PILLMAN!!! I TOLD YOU I’D NEVER LET THIS GO!!!!” Sullivan stomps on Flyin Brian’ and then speaks again. Sullivan: “You see, I went away! I studied under the Tree of Woe and ate the beetlenut with the daughter of the third eye! I am reborn! I am reborn as… THE TASKMASTER!! And I am not alone!! This man – MORTIS – he is one of many! He is a member of my Dungeon of Doom, but he is NOT THE ONLY MEMBER! MY DUNGEON WILL DESTROY YOU PILLMAN!!” The Taskmaster drops the microphone and lays into Pillman with several stomps and leaves the ring with Mortis following right behind him. We go to commercial as the camera closes in on Pillman laying helplessly on the canvas… **commercial break** *Madusa is standing by with Todd Petingill for a quick interview before our next match. She will wrestle in the finals of the WCW Women’s Tournament at the Clash of the Champions on February 18 against Chigusa Nagayo. Madusa talks about scoring a big win in the semi-finals over Luna Vachon, but not even Luna is an intimidating as Nagayo. Madusa recalls the many years she spent wrestling in Japan and she’s always been impressed by Nagayo. There is a big size difference between them, but Madusa says she’s training around the clock so she will be prepared for anything Chigusa can throw at her. Tiger Ali Singh interrupts at this point and says Madusa may be able to fool these American fans, but he knows how scared Madusa is of Chigusa Nagayo. Madusa shoves Singh and tells him she sure isn’t scared of HIM so he better beat it if he wants to leave here with his head still attached to his neck! Tiger scurries away as Madusa tells Petingill that she will be ready for one heck of a match at the Clash and she is planning to walk out as the very first WCW Women’s Champion… 2) Big Dick Dudley & Snot Dudley vs. Brian Blair & Barry “Hole In One” Darsow: These four men are in the ring and ready to get this match underway, when there’s a commotion in the crowd. Oh no – it’s The Outsiders! Scott Hall and Kevin Nash make their way through the crowd and hop the rails. The Outsiders enter the ring and they are telling these four men to get the heck out of the ring. The Dudleys aren’t having any of that and they charge The Outsiders, but Nash knees Big Dick in his…well, namesake and Hall decks Snot Dudley! Hall does the three punches, swings his arm back, spits on his right hand and decks Snot Dudley, who flops out to the floor! Nash boots Big Dick Dudley and then clotheslines him over the top rope. Brian Blair is on the attack as well as he decks Scott Hall, but Kevin Nash decks Blair from behind, pulls him and destroys him with a Jacknife powerbomb! The Outsiders now turn their attention to Barry Darsow, who thinks better of the situation and rolls out of the ring. Darsow doesn’t want any of The Outsiders here tonight! WINNERS: NO CONTEST *Scott Hall gets on the microphone and says if the message they sent last week with Taz and Alfonso wasn’t clear enough, he and Big Kev have declared war on WCW! Hall says him, the big man and their surprise buddy want a match with WCW so he’s telling WCW to put up or shut up. Kevin Nash then takes the microphone and says he’s also got a message for Sting. The Stinger clearly wants to be a hero, but if he gets in the ring with The Outsiders he’ll end up a martyr. The fans begin to cheer as Sting charges out from the dressing room! Sting isn’t got to let these Outsiders disrupt WCW Monday Nitro any longer. And behind him – it’s Lance Storm, Ice Train, Van Hammer, and even two guys from 'the other locker-room', Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko! The WCW cavalry has arrived! Look at the Outsiders – Hall and Nash slowly exit the ring. They’re not running and they don’t look scared, but clearly they can see the odds are now against them. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall hop back over the rail and head back up the stands as Sting takes a microphone. Sting: “Enough is enough! You boys want a war? I keep telling you that you’ve got one! J.J. Dillon, I’m not asking, I’m demanding that you sign a match with me and two other WCW guys against these thugs! Nash, Hall, it’s about time for you to put up… or SHUT THE HELL UP!” Sting drops the microphone and climbs the top rope to taunt Kevin Nash and Hall, who are both standing in the crowd with devious smiles on their faces… **commercial break** *We are taken backstage where WCW President J.J. Dillon is standing by with WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair, his manager Ted Dibiase and the legend himself, Antonio Inoki. Dillon recaps how huge this match will and mentions that it will be shown live in the UK and Asia. J.J. then asks Flair to sign the contract, which The Nature Boy does. Flair then boasts that this is a match that everyone’s always wondered about – after the Clash, people will never have to wonder again. They will know that Antonio Inoki is a great and he may be a legend, but they’ll also know that he cannot beat The Nature Boy! Dillon then asks Inoki to sign the contract, which he does. Inoki simply points at Flair’s belt and says, “That belt – it’s mine!” Flair and Inoki go nose-to-nose, but Ted Dibiase pulls Ric Flair away before a fight breaks out. Dillon announces that the fans will be in for a treat next week because Antonio Inoki will step into the ring right here on WCW Monday Nitro to team with Tiger Mask against Ric Flair and Chris Benoit. Dillon then sends us back up to the ring for our next match… 3) Greg “The Hammer” Valentine vs. Craig “Pittbull” Pittman: These two wrestlers have a back-and-forth mat battle where The Hammer does give Craig Pittman a run for his money. Pittman manages to catch Greg Valentine with a series of suplexes, but Greg Valentine is able to kick out of the pin attempt. Pittman looks to apply a Cobra-like submission hold that he calls the Code Red, but Greg Valentine uses the ropes to propel himself back onto Craig Pittman for a pin, but he only gets a two count! However, Greg Valentine has gotten a sudden rush of momentum and he catches Craig Pittman with a series of right hands. Pittman fires back, but Greg Valentine ducks one of his attempts and levels him with a right hand! Greg Valentine then measures Pittman for the big elbow drop, but the Pittbull moves out of the way! Pittman immediately pounces and reapplies the Code Red! This time there’s nowhere for Valentine to go and he is eventually forced to tap out! Fans, Craig Pittman has gotten the biggest win of his career over The Hammer! WINNER: CRAIG “PITTBULL” PITTMAN *VTR: Highlights of the rivalry between The Nasty Boys and WCW World Tag Team Champions The Road Warriors, leading up to the Clash of the Champions. We see The Nasty Boys going through both The Bruise Brothers and Demolition to become the #1 contenders. The video package ends with both teams scoring wins here on WCW Monday Nitro. We go back to the arena where Mike Tenay announces that a new tag team has formed. Last week, Lance Storm left the US after Monday Nitro for a tour of Japan where he teamed with Japanese star Kenta Kobashi for a series of wins over major Japanese stars. Tenay is excited to announce that Kobashi will be coming to the US when Storm returns later this month to team with him here in WCW. Tony Schiavone talks about being very impressed by the footage he has seen of Kenta Kobashi and everyone knows that Lance Storm is one of the most promising young stars in the sport. Mike Teny sends us to break by predicting that Storm and Kobashi will make quite a splash here in World Championship Wrestling… **commercial break** *VTR: WCW World Television Champion Chris Benoit is standing in front of the WCW logo. Benoit says last week, the world saw the legend of Tiger Mask unmasked for the shame that it truly is. The Crippler talks about watching Tiger Mask’s matches with Dynamite Kid in awe when he was a child. The truth is, it is wrestlers like Tiger Mask who should be in awe of him for taking their innovations to a totally new level. At the Clash of the Champions, the legend of Tiger Mask will be buried once and for all and the legend of the Canadian Crippler will be born. We go back to the arena where Mike Tenay tells Tony Schiavone and Steve McMichael appears to be a bit too cocky going into a match with an all-star great like Tiger Mask, who has proven that he’s still as good as he ever was in that ring. Tony asks Mike Tenay to predict a winner in the Benoit/Tiger Mask match, but Mike thinks this one is too close to call. Tenay then sends us up to the ring for another dream match for international fans as Dean Malenko faces off with The Great Sasuke of Japan… 4) The Great Sasuke vs. “The Iceman” Dean Maleno (w/ Ted Dibiase): Great Sasuke tried to neutralize Malenko early on with a series of right hands, but Dean Malenko catches Great Sasuke with a big knee to the gut. The Iceman proceeds to throw Great Sasuke around the ring for the next several minutes. Late in the contest, Malenko locks Sasuke in the surfboard submission hold and refuses to release the move until he’s told to do so by by his manager Ted Dibiase. Malenko waits for Great Sasuke to get back to his feet and as soon as Sasuke does, Dean Malenko hooks him and drives him head-first into the canvas with a brutal brainbuster. Malenko the applies the STF and Sasuke is already unconscious so referee Scott Dickinson calls for the bell! WINNER: DEAN MALENKO *The match is over, but Dean Malenko refuses to release the hold and this time Ted DIbiase encourages him to keep it locked in. Dean could be doing serious damage here, BUT HERE COMES THE WCW WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION SUPER DELFIN! Delfin comes in and Malenko immediately releases the hold and pops back to his feet. The two square off and Malenko attacks, but Delfin slides out from behind and he hits the OSAKA STREET CUTTER! Super Delfin has just laid Dean Malenko out once again! Ted Dibiase pulls Dean Malenko to the outside, where Malenko cannot even stand after that devastating maneuver. Super Delfin perches in the ring and urges Malenko to come back at him, but clearly The Iceman is in no shape to do so! Dibiase is throwing a fit out on the floor as Super Delfin climbs to the top turnbuckle and holds up his title belt as we go to our next commercial break… **commercial break** *Todd Petingill is standing by with Sgt. Craig Pittman before our next match. Petingill congratulates Pittman on his win over Greg Valentine, but the Pittbull shouts that he doesn’t need any congratulations. Pittman says he told the world last week that Greg Valentine was out of his league and everyone saw the so-called Hammer get his ass handed to them tonight. The Pittbull says this win should move him up the rankings and from now on, he’s going to starting taking what he wants in order to get the top of WCW. Pittman then forces Petingill to stand at attention and salute, before we go back to the arena. Mike Tenay talk about our next match, which will pit the promising team of Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman against the British duo of Alex Shane and Robbie Brookside. Tenay mentions that Brookside is the former partner of ex-WCW star Steven Regal and has appeared in WCW in the past. Mike thinks the British stars have the experience edge in this match and that could be the crucial difference in this next match… 5) Rey Mysterio Jr. & Billy Kidman vs. Alex Shane & Robbie Brookside: Alex Shane and Robbie Brookside manage to dominate the early portions of the match, using their experience and quick tags and have the duo of Mysterio and Kidman on the run at several times during the match. However, a missed missile dropkick attempt allows Billy Kidman to pounce on Brookside and then really try to work over the right shoulder of Robbie Brookside. However, when Kidman locks Robbie in a Fujiwara-style armbar, Brookside refuses to submit! Eventually, Billy Kidman releases the hold and tags his partner and Rey Mysterio Jr. The masked man tries to plant Robbie Brookside with a vertical suplex, but Brookside fights his way out of the move and tags in his partner Alex Shane, who comes off the top with a flying clothesline that nearly finishes off Rey Mysterio Jr. Alex Shane scores a series of near falls, but Rey Mysterio Jr. is able to catch him in the hurricanrana and bridge into a pin. Brookside hits the ring to break up the pin, but Kidman is there with a kick that looked a little like a low blow! Mysterio gets the pin and this young duo gets another major win. WINNERS: REY MYSTERIO JR. & BILLY KIDMAN *Todd Petingill is hyping his WCW Hotline, when a very familiar face charges down the ramp! Todd is interrupted by… . . . . . . . *Todd Petingill announces this man as the newest addition to World Championship Wrestling, it’s the massive Avalanche! Avalanche says he’s not going out here and talk for ten minutes. All he wants to say is he left “cartoon land in New York” to wrestle against the toughest in the business – and the toughest wrestlers are here in WCW. Avalanche says he will take on anyone and everyone, but he will not show any mercy when the bell rings. This 400lb monster warns that World Championship Wrestling should prepare for a seismic shift because the Avalanche has arrived. The big man scowls at the camera and then walks off and he passes another big man, Ice Train! Ice Train was making his way down for an interview with Todd Petingill, but he and Avalanche are now going face-to-face arguing! Avalanche doesn’t like anyone trying to steal his spotlight and Ice Train barks back that he should do something about it if he doesn’t like! Just as these two men are about begin brawling, J.J. Dillon leads out a group of a dozen wrestlers, Doug Dillinger and several WCW security guards to make sure things stay in control. We go to break with Avalanche shouting that he wants to get in the ring with Ice Train… **commercial break** *Stan Hansen is stomping around the ring as we come back from commercial. Hansen yells that he is going to wring Sting’s neck and then he’s going to knock his head clean off with The Lariat. Hansen says he wants Steve McMichael to watch this very closely so he can see what a real athlete looks like. Stan says he isn’t wearing any pads like “the big sissy Mongo” did when he won the Super Bowl. Steve McMichael has heard enough at this point and he throws off his headset. The fans are buzzing as Mongo leaves the announce booth and walks out to the entrance way. “The Man Called Sting” begins playing at this point and out comes the WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Sting! Mongo and Sting talk for a second in the aisle – and look at this! Sting gives Mongo a high-five and McMichael follows The Stinger down to ringside. Mongo is going to be in Sting’s corner for this huge title match… 6) WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Sting (w/ Steve “Mongo” McMichael) vs. Stan Hansen: The Stinger takes Stan Hansen by surprise early on and works him over on the mat. Sting really works on the shoulder of The Bad Man From Borger and has him in real danger with a hammerlock submission hold. Sting then goes to take Hansen up for a big scoop slam, but Stan manages to grab the ropes and bring his weight crashing down on Sting. Both men are in trouble and they change course and slug it out once they finally get to their feet and Sting hits a clothesline that has Stan Hansen reeling. The Stinger charges Hansen, but Stan boots him in the gut and rolls him up with a hand full of tights. Referee Charles Robinson doesn’t see this and counts and makes the count for the 1-2-no! Sting somehow managed to kick out, but now Hansen is setting him up for the Western Lariat! As Hansen perches, he spots Mongo rallying the fans and he charges over to the ropes to yell at him. Mongo doesn’t back up and walks up the ring steps onto the apron and gets right in Hansen’s face! These two are going to go here! No they’re not because Sting is up and he grabs Hansen from behind – Scorpion Death Drop! Sting is on top with the cover for the 1-2-3! Sting retains the gold! WINNER: STING *Sting grabs his title and then gives Steve McMichael a high-five. As they walk up the aisle, Hansen is getting up and he launches into a fit. Hansen grabs the microphone from Dave Penzer and shouts that he wants a piece “of that football pansy”! Mongo and Sting turn around to listen to him, with McMichael looked amped up and ready for a fight. Hansen says he wants to show Mongo that he should have never entered the wrestling industry – he wants a match with him at the Clash! Sting and Mongo talk it over for a second as Todd Petingill arrives. Mongo tells Todd that if Hansen wants a match with him, he’ll accept! Steve McMichael says he’s not a wrestler, but he’s been a fighter all his life and he will give Stan Hansen one hell of a fight! Hansen angrily retorts that Mongo has just signed his own death warrant and then throws down the microphone. Fans, Superbowl champion Steve McMichael is going to step inside the ring to wrestle Stan Hansen at the Clash of the Champions… *We now go back to the announce position where Tony Schiavone and Mike Tenay wrap up this week’s show and discuss the shocking news that Steve McMichael will be making his in-ring debut against Stan Hansen at the Clash of the Champions! They move on to talk about next week’s show, which feature an all-star tag team main event as Tiger Mask and Antonio Inoki team up against WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair and WCW World Television Champion Chris Benoit! Plus, we will have Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman in tag team action again as they face the Mexican duo, Los Villanos! J.J. Dillon will also publicly address this issue with The Outsiders right here next week when WCW Monday Nitro airs live from Beaumont, Texas at the Civic Center… (c) WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING presents:
Beaumont, TX Civic Center February 13, 1995 Announcers: Tony Schiavone & Mike Tenay Ring Announcer: Dave Penzer Interviewer: Todd Petingill Referees: Scott Dickinson, Charles Robinson & Mickey Jay *Tony Schiavone and “The Professor” Mike Tenay welcome us to this edition of WCW Monday Nitro, coming to you live from Beaumont, Texas. We are just days away from the Clash of the Champions on Saturday night from AlamaDome in San Antonio. On tonight’s program, we will see the #1 contender to the WCW World Heavyweight Title, Antonio Inoki, team with Tiger Mask to face off with “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and WCW World Television Champion Chris Benoit. Billy Kidman will team with Rey Mysterio Jr. once again to take on the Mexican duo of Villano IV and Villano IV. Plus, last week we saw them square off in the aisle and tonight they do battle in the ring as Ice Train faces off with Avalanche. We’ll also have the first appearance of Mortis in the ring as he takes on Van Hammer – and you have to believe wherever Mortis is, The Taskmaster won’t be far behind. We’ll also take a special look at Steve “Mongo” McMichael’s training session as he prepares for his first-ever wrestling match at the Clash against Stan Hansen. WCW President James J. Dillon will also be here with a response to last week’s challenge from The Outsiders for a six-man tag team match. Right now, let’s throw it up to David Penzer to announce our first match… 1) WCW World Tag Team Champions The Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal) (w/ Paul Ellering) vs. The Texas Hangmen: The masked Texas Hangmen attack The Legion of Doom as they hit the ring, but Hawk and Animal fight them off and clothesline both opponents out to the floor. Once the match officially begins, the Texas Hangmen try to keep control early on by making quick tags to isolate Hawk in their corner. Hawk eventually rebounds with a big clothesline and makes the hot tag to Animal. Road Warrior Animal comes in and cleans house on both Texas Hangmen with big clotheslines. Animal pulls Texas Hangman II in and levels him with a big piledriver. Animal makes the cover and gets the three count to retain the WCW World Tag Team Championship belts! WINNERS: THE LEGION OF DOOM *Paul Ellering and The Legion of Doom are interviewed by Todd Petingill after the match. Ellering talks about how the LOD have held these titles for quite a long time and they are not ready to lose them to two blow-hards like The Nasty Boys. Animal shouts that he hopes Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags were watching that match because they will be ending up just like those two Texas Hangmen – down for the count and then carried out of the ring. Hawk: “WELLLLLLLLL – it looks like it’s finally time to get down and dirty with those Nastiest of Boys Knobbs and Sags. Well Nasty Boys, me and Animal aren’t so sparking clean ourselves! At the Clash of the Champions, you bring the nastiness and we’ll bring them doom. Let’s see what happens! Ohhhhhhhh what a ruuuuuuush!” The Legion of Doom hold up their championship titles as Paul Ellering slaps his copy of the Wall Street Journal against the open palm of his right hand, while Todd Petingill sends us to commercial… **commercial break** *Todd Petingill is standing in the aisle after the commercial and introduces the newest WCW superstar, all the way from German it’s “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright! Wright makes his way out to ringside area and shakes hands with many of the fans. Petingill welcomes Alex Wright here to WCW. Wright thanks Todd and mentions that it’s great for him to be competing here in WCW, where the big boys play. Todd mentions Alex’s wrestling pedigree as the son of German wrestling legend Steven Wright. Alex says his father’s popularity in German is like Sting’s here in the United States. He hopes that he can live up to his father’s legendary reputation and the best way to do that is by taking on the very best in the world. Everyone knows that the best of the best are in World Championship Wrestling and that’s why he is here. Petingill asks about Alex’s plans now that he’s arrived. Wright answers that he will be watching the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship match between Dean Malenko and Super Delfin very closely and he’d like to challenge whoever comes out on top of that match. Todd wishes Alex Wright the best of luck and mentions that he will be in action this weekend on WCW Pro… 2) Mortis (w/ The Taskmaster) vs. Van Hammer: The big man Van Hammer stands back in the corner as The Taskmaster and Mortis make their elaborate entrance. The bell rings and these two go to lock-up, but Mortis lands a knee to the gut and then surprises the bigger man by slamming him. Van Hammer uses the ropes to pull himself up, but Mortis charges with a cross-body block that sends both men tumbling over the top rope and out to the floor. Mortis gets on the apron and connects with a flying clothesline on Van Hammer as the big man was getting up. Mortis gets back on the apron and rolls back into the ring, only to be admonished by referee Charles Robinson. Behind the referee’s back, The Taskmaster levels Van Hammer with a series of kicks and throws him back into the ring. Mortis is right there to level Van Hammer with a boot to the head and he then pulls Hammer into an Implant DDT. The masked Mortis makes the cover to score the three count. WINNER: MORTIS *Brian Pillman is in the aisle after the match and he has a microphone! Pillman feigns clapping and says he has to hand it to Sullivan – The Taskmaster got the better of Flyin’ Brian over the last several weeks. Pillman says he now knows what the rules are – there aren’t any! Brian then issues a challenge to Mortis for the Clash of the Champions so he can “give Mortis a receipt” for last week. The Taskmaster gets on the microphone and warns Pillman that he should have stayed away after last week. He agrees to the match between Mortis and Pillman, but again tells Brian not to show up for the match or there will be GIANT consequences! Flyin’ Brian laughs this off and says he’s no longer worried about “the green-faced freak or the sawed-off warlock” and promises that he will finish what he should have done in the cage match a month ago. Pillman tells Mortis to meet him in San Antonio for a good, old fashioned beat down. Mortis stands tall in the ring, while The Taskmaster begins to laugh maniacally. Pillman backs up with a big grin on his face as well, but the camera catches that smile turn to a concerned look for a second as Sullivan cackles in the ring… **commercial break** *Mike Tenay once against promotes Lance Storm’s return from Japan right here next week and his new tag team partner, Kenta Kobashi. Tenay reveals that Kobashi and Storm have been undefeated on their tour of the land of the rising sun, but they’ll be facing tougher competition here in WCW, where the big boys play. However, these two will certainly make waves here in WCW and he predicts that they could be the success story of 1995. Tony Schiavone and Mike Tenay then talk about the next match, which will pit Ice Train against Avalanche. They narrate over footage from last week, where the entire locker-room practically emptied to keep these two behemoths from brawling. Mike says there won’t be anything stopping them tonight as the irresistible force meets the immovable object. Tony balks at this and says he used to have to hear expressions like that when he was working “with the senile old coot in that hell-hole Stamford”. Tenay and Schiavone chuckle at that and send us to the ring for this big match… 3) Ice Train vs. Avalanche: Two big brawlers face off here by going for a test of strength. Avalanche starts off strong, but Ice Train stuns him by reversing the momentum. Rather then drop down to one knee and lose the momentum totally, Avalanche levels his opponent with a kick to the stomach! The fans boo as Avalanche then rakes the eyes and begins working over Train with some kicks and stomps in the corner. Avalanche charges with a big shoulder block and then slams Ice Train down to the canvas. Avalanche signals for the end and then hits the ropes – he’s going for the big elbow drop! It doesn’t quite work out as Ice Train rolls away at the last second and Avalanche crashes down to the canvas. Avalanche is very slow to his feet, while Ice Train is just waiting for him. Ice Train climbs to the second rope and perches, until Avalanche turns around. Ice Train leaps off the ropes and connects with a huge clothesline that knocks Avalanche off his feet once again! Ice Train makes the pin and gets the surprise three count! Ice Train has just gotten the biggest win of his career! WINNER: ICE TRAIN *Ice Train is even surprised by the win as the bell is rung and referee Scott Dickinson raises his hand. The big man climbs up to the second rope to celebrate, but he’s attacked from behind by a furious Avalanche. Ice Train topples down to the canvas as Avalanche lays into him with a series of boots to the head and neck. Avalanche hits the ropes and this time he connects with the big elbow drop across Ice Train’s chest! And he’s not done yet. Avalanche jumps up and down a few times, hits the ropes again and squashes Ice Train with the running sit-out splash right down on his opponent’s chest! The 400 lb. Avalanche is back up now and he signals for another splash, but Doug Dillinger, WCW security and a half-dozen prelim wrestlers hit the ring to prevent him from doing so. Avalanche looks right into the camera and shouts, “Who looks like the winner now?” The big man leaves the ring after repeated warnings from the referee. The officials tend to Ice Train, who has to be helped from his feet as we go to commercial… **commercial break** *VTR: We see the third video of Steve “Mongo” McMichael training with Sting for his match with Stan Hansen at the Clash of the Champions. We see Sting giving Mongo tips as he spares with prelim wrestlers at the WCW Power Plant in Atlanta. We can clearly see that although his wrestling skills aren’t defined, Mongo is one tough SOB as he takes punishment and keeps fighting back. Eventually, Mongo is able to clear the ring of three preliminary opponents. Sting then joins Mongo in the ring and says he’s ready to take on Stan Hansen! Mongo looks right into the camera and says he will be coming to the Clash of the Champions in San Antonio – and he’s ready for the fight of his life! The scene fades out as we return to Mike Tenay and Tony Schiavone in Beaumont. Mike and Tony both talk about McMichael’s legendary toughness. Tenay admits the odds are against Mongo, but if anyone could pull off the upset of the century it is Steve McMichael. Tony adds that it will indeed be the upset of the century if Mongo is somehow able to score a win over a dangerous man like Stan “The Lariat” Hansen… 4) Rey Mysterio Jr. & Billy Kidman vs. Los Villanos (IV & V): This is certainly a change of pace from the Ice Train-Avalanche match we saw earlier on. These four men wow the crowd with quick tags and high-flying maneuvers off the top rope. The finish sees Mysterio make the hot tag to Billy Kidman, who comes right off the top rope with a dropkick on Villano V. Villano IV charges in, but Kidman lands a spinning wheel kick. Villano V attacks from behind and tries to level Kidman with a belly-to-belly suplex, but Kidman puts on the breaks and turns into a small package. Kidman locks the pinning combination in – it looks he grabs the tights as well – and the referee administers the three count! Another big man for this young team, but Billy Kidman bend the rules there? WINNERS: REY MYSTERIO & BILLY KIDMAN *Todd Petingill steps into the match to congratulate these two young stars, but also questions Billy Kidman on if he hooked the tights. Mysterio looks disapproving at this partner, but Kidman plays it down. Kidman says it might have looked like that when he first bridged the pin, but that was just to get the momentum to turn the suplex into a pin. Billy insists that he released the tights before he locked in the pinning attempt fully. Kidman says he plays by the rules, just like his partner Rey Mysterio Jr. Rey clearly looks a little annoyed as he says that he doesn’t believe in taking unfair advantages. Kidman answer that he doesn’t believe in taking cheap shots either – he’s telling Rey he didn’t cheat. Mysterio mulls this over for a second, before shaking Kidman’s hand and saying he trusts his partner’s word. Todd announces that next week on WCW Monday Nitro, they will take on the very dangerous team of La Parka and El Dandy. Rey knows all about them from their time down in Texas. He knows he and Kidman will have to be at their best next week to win and that’s exactly what they will do. Kidman and Mysterio high-five as Todd Petingill wraps up the interview… **commercial break** *James J. Dillon joins Todd Petingill before our next match to discuss the recent situation with The Outsiders. Dillon tells Todd that he initially was planning to take financial action against both Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, but he’s a bit of a troubling discovery. He’s discovered that Kevin Nash’s WCW contract was only a 30 day holding deal, which expired the night he and Hall turned on Sting. As for Hall, he actually only had a one-match contract, which is incredibly puzzling. He will be investigating how this happened and how it could have been cleared through Turner Broadcasting. Todd then asks about the challenge for a match between The Outsiders and their surprise partner against three WCW superstars. Dillon tells Todd that he is working on this issue and he invites Hall and Nash to come to the Clash of the Champions where he will reveal if the match will happen. J.J. Dillon says he’s getting a lot of rallying from Sting and others in the locker-room to sign the match, but he needs to make sure it’s in WCW’s best interest… 5) Madusa vs. Ivory: Madusa is just days away from her match with Chigusa Nagayo at the Clash of the Champions for the WCW Women’s Championship match. She and Ivory have a good match here, which starts with a handshake and continues that friendly spirit of competition. Ivory looks ready to score a major upset with a running bulldog, but Madusa shoves her off and Ivory goes face-first into the turnbuckle on the opposite side of the ring. As Ivory stumbles out of the corner, Madusa hooks her form behind, pops the hips and levels her opponent with the belly-to-back suplex. Madusa bridges it into a pin and scores the three count to score another major win. WINNER: MADUSA *VTR: We see clips from Super Delfin winning the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship over Dean Malenko a few weeks ago here on WCW Monday Nitro. We then go to “The Iceman” Dean Malenko, who is standing by in the locker-room. Malenko says a lot of people call him the silent assassin because he does his talking in the ring. Dean says just this once, he has a little something to say. Super Delfin’s win was a fluke – a mistake that will be rectified at the Clash of the Champions. Malenko says Super Delfin is going to pay for embarrassing him – he wants a message to be sent to any cruiserweight who even dreams of pulling that kind of stunt again. Dean Malenko promises that he will take back his belt at the Clash of the Champions and he might just break one or two of Super Delfin’s bones in the process. Malenko menacingly stares into the camera as the scene fades out… **commercial break** *Mike Tenay and Tony Schiavone hype the main event as we come back, but Tony sends us to the back where a camera crew is apparently standing by. We are taken to the parking lot, where Kevin Nash and Scott Hall are standing outside the WCW production truck. Hall says he and the big man heard what J.J. Dillon had to say and warns that their patience is wearing real thin. Hall says he and Nash will be in San Antonio for the Clash of the Champions, but he insist that Dillon better give them the match that they’re asking for. Kevin Nash: “If we don’t get our match, J.J. Dillon might just end up like this.” Nash grabs the camera as Scott Hall decks the cameraman! What the hell? Hall throws the cameraman head-first into the production truck as Kevin Nash documents it by holding the camera. Nash then turns the camera around on himself and mockingly says, “You see that J.J. Dillon? That could be a glimpse… into the fuuuuuture!” Nash then wonders aloud how much these cameras cost, before throwing it to the ground and knocking out the feed. Tony and Mike are shocked as we go back to the arena and Schiavone once again says that these Outsiders have to be stopped… 6) WCW World Heavyweight Champion “Nature Boy” Ric Flair & WCW World Television Champion Chris Benoit (w/ Ted Dibiase) vs. Antonio Inoki & Tiger Mask: Antonio Inoki and the World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair start it off and Flair jabs Inoki in the throat right away and roughs him up with several more shots to the throat. Flair and Chris Benoit make quick tags in the early going and really are able to work over Antonio Inoki’s shoulder and back. Tiger Mask is rallying the crowd and they are cheering for the Japanese team here! Antonio Inoki manages to mount a comeback and he nails Ric Flair with an enziguri that stuns the Nature Boy. Inoki tries to get to his corner, but Ric Flair drives over and nails Inoki from behind. Flair suplexes Inoki back into the center of the ring and he looks around and then spits on the prone Antonio Inoki – shouting “WOOOOO” as well! Inoki sits up with fury in his eyes and he hammers Ric Flair with a right hand and Flair falls back into his corner tags in Chris Benoit. The Crippler is now in and Antonio Inoki catches him with a right palm strike to the jaw and then leaps into his corner and tags in Tiger Mask. The Crippler backs up as quick as he can, but Tiger Mask lands a big dropkick that knocks Benoit back into his corner. Benoit reaches out and tags Flair back into the match. Tiger Mask comes on like a house of fire and dropkicks both opponents and then slams Flair right in the center of the ring. Tiger Mask then locks Ric Flair in a Fujiwara armbar and really works him over for several moments. Tiger Mask releases the hold and tosses Flair into the center of the ring and applies an armbar once again as we go to commercial break here on WCW Monday Nitro! As we come back from break, Tiger Mask has Ric Flair backed into a corner and is wailing away with chops to the chest of the Nature Boy. Tiger Mask then tosses Ric Flair out of the corner and then he tags in Antonio Inoki, who gets a big reaction from the fans and he paint-brushes Ric Flair with a hard right hand and then hits a big vertical suplex, but Ric Flair kicks out of a pin attempt. As they get up, Ric Flair manages to see that the referee out of position and so he kicks Inoki right in the groin! Flair backs into his corner and tags in Chris Benoit, who comes in and hits a double ax-handle smash that knocks Inoki back into his own corner and Tiger Mask is tagged once again as well! Tiger Mask is in and Chris Benoit immediately disables him with a chop-block to his right knee and Tiger Mask collapses to the canvas. The Crippler pulls himself him up and tags his partner Ric Flair, who had just pulled himself back up, back into the match. A tired Flair comes in and goes for a vertical suplex, but Tiger Mask blocks it and hoists Nature Boy into a brainbuster of his own and then dives into his corner and tags Antonio Inoki back in. Antonio comes in like a house of fire and catches both opponents with boots to the stomach. Antonio Inoki then threatens Ted Dibiase, who has gotten up onto the apron. Ric Flair has now attacked Antonio Inoki from behind and sends him off the ropes. Flair misses a clothesline, turns around, and gets a boot to the stomach. Inoki then plants Flair with his signature bridging fall-away slam and rolls over on top for the cover, hooking both legs! Chris Benoit tries to get in, but Tiger Mask is right there with a cross-body block to stop him. The referee makes the three count – and Inoki has done! He has pinned Ric Flair just days before their World Title clash! WINNERS: ANTONIO INOKI & TIGER MASK *We now go back to the announce position where Tony Schiavone and Mike Tenay wrap up this week’s show and plug the Clash of the Champions, coming up this Saturday on TBS. They spend a few moments hyping the big matches, including the WCW World Heavyweight Title match between Ric Flair and Antonio Inoki. Tenay also mentions that The Outsiders have been invited to San Antonio so J.J. Dillon can tell them if they will have their match with WCW. Mike also mentions that right here next week on WCW Monday Nitro, we will see the team of Kenta Kobashi and Lance Storm in tag team action for the first time. We’ll also have Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman against La Parka and El Dandy. There could also be new champions. The only way to find out is to tune in again next week for another edition of the most exciting wrestling program on television today, WCW Monday Nitro… (c) WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING presents:
Ft. Worth, TX Will Rogers Auditorium February 20, 1995 Announcers: Tony Schiavone & Mike Tenay Ring Announcer: Dave Penzer Interviewer: Todd Petingill Referees: Scott Dickinson, Charles Robinson & Mickey Jay *Tony Schiavone and “The Professor” Mike Tenay welcome us to this edition of WCW Monday Nitro, coming to you live from Ft. Worth, Texas. We are two days removed from the Clash of the Champions and just three weeks away from WCW standing up to the challenge of The Outsiders at WCW SuperBrawl live from England. Sting has also been announced as a member of Team WCW and we may learn more about his two partners here tonight on WCW Nitro. Tonight, will see Sting put his WCW US Title on the line against the Dungeon of Doom’s Morti. Speaking of the Dungeon of Doom, the monstrous man who debuted at the Clash – the man Kevin Sullivan called The Giant – will be in his first match tonight. We’ll also have Meng and Barbarian in action as well as Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman facing La Parka and El Dandy. We will kick things off with a special battle royal, where the winner will earn a title match with WCW World Heavyweight Title match against Ric Flair here on WCW Monday Nitro next week. Mike Tenay and Tony Schiavone reveal that their colleague Steve “Mongo” McMichael will be in that match and wish him the best of luck in his second professional match, following his win over Stan Hansen at the Clash. Let’s send it up to David Penzer to get WCW Monday Nitro underway… 1) 10-Man Battle Royal to earn WCW World Heavyweight Title shot next week: The competitors are: Chris Benoit, Road Warrior Hawk, Ice Train, Road Warrior Animal, Avalanche, Alex Wright, Steve “Mongo” McMichael, Dean Malenko, Craig “Pittbull” Pittman, Scott Putski. The order of elimination is as follows: The odds-on favorite Avalanche is actually the first man eliminated here as The Legion of Doom double-team and begin to shove him over the top rope. They are having trouble so Ice Train charges across the ring with a big clothesline, that sends Avalanche tumbling out to the floor but the momentum also sends both Road Warriors over the top and down to the floor as well! Ice Train has just taken out Avalanche and the Legion of Doom with one big clothesline. Scott Putski is eliminated next when Chris Benoit scoops him up into a fireman’s carry and hurls him out to the floor. Dean Malenko tries to apply his Texas Cloverleaf on Ice Train in the center of the ring, but Train uses his incredible leg strength to kick Malenko the Iceman away and send him tumbling over the top rope to the floor. Mongo is really looking good in his second-ever match and he clotheslines Ice Train from behind, knocking Train over and out. Ice Train is out of here, but he had quite a run in this match. We’re down to the final four here as “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright, Steve “Mongo” McMichael, Sgt. Craig Pittman and Chris Benoit are all left. One of these men will challenge Ric Flair right here next week on WCW Monday Nitro. Benoit immediately attacks Wright and tries to force him over the top rope. On the outside side of the ring, Mongo hammers away on Pittman. McMichael goes for the football spear, but that wasn’t a wise move here as Pittman dodges it and uses the momentum to throw out Mongo! A rookie mistake costs Steve McMichael this match. Pittman gloats in the ring as Mongo angrily slams his hands against the apron. The Pittbull taunts him and Mongo tries to get back in the ring, but the referees hold McMichael back and order him to leave. As Pittman turns around, Chris Benoit levels him with a clothesline that knocks him over the top to the floor! Pittman’s out and now look at this – Mongo clubs him! Pittman and Mongo fight their way up the aisle as Chris Benoit suplexes Alex Wright in the ropes. The Canadian Crippler stomps the hell out of Wright, but Das Wunderkind grabs his leg and trips him up. Alex is back on his feet and now he goes for the hangman’s neckbreaker, but Benoit gets out of the hold. Wright leaps up and goes for the crucifix to get Benoit down. However, The Crippler stays up and he actually throws himself and Wright at the top rope. Both men tumble over, but Wright has better position and he hooks the top rope with his right hand. Benoit falls down to the arena floor, while Alex Wright manages to hang on! Das Wunderkind wins it! He will face Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Title next week here on WCW Monday Nitro! WINNER: ALEX WRIGHT *Todd Petingill steps into the ring to interview Alex Wright, who likely shocked many people by winning this match. Wright tells Gene that although many people don’t know much about him, he thinks he proved himself tonight as a major force here in WCW. Alex says he grew up wanting to wrestle Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Title and next week he will get to fulfill his dream. Wright says he doesn’t agree with Flair’s tactics recently, but he respects the man as the greatest wrestler of all-time. Next week, Alex believes it will be his moment in time to become WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He will put aside his respect for Ric Flair and fight fire with fire, if necessary, to become the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history. Alex says he hopes the fans will be supporting him because he wants to represent not just his fans in Germany, but his American fans as well. Wright then rolls out to the arena floor and shakes hands with many of the fans seated around ringside… **commercial break** *Sting has joined Todd Petingill for a quick interview. The Stinger says he is hyped up and ready to lead Team WCW into battle at SuperBrawl to kick the butts of Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and whoever their third man might be. Petingill asks Sting has selected Team WCW, but Sting reveals that he will make his choices known next week here on WCW Monday Nitro. This week, he has to focus on retaining his title against the very dangerous Mortis. Sting: “Mortis, you bring that scary green mask. You bring The Taskmaster. You bring that Giant! You bring the forces of Jack Skellington himself because it’s going to take all that and more to unseat The Stinger! OWWWWWWWWW!” Sting pounds his chest and then charges back to the dressing room. We then go back to Dave Penzer, who announces the arrival of Meng and Barbarian, who are collectively known as the Faces of Fear… 2) The Faces of Fear (Meng & Barbarian) vs. The Bad Breed (Axl & Ian Rotten): Meng returns to WCW and looks imposing as ever, but this time he is teaming with the equally dangerous Barbarian. These two monsters are up against the Rotten brothers, who show a lot of balls by bringing the right to them. This turns into a brawl around the ringside area, with referee Charles Robinson struggling like hell to gain any sort of order. Finally the brawl ends up in the ring, where Barbarian connects with the Kick of Fear on Axl. At the same, Meng locks the Tongan Death Grip on Ian Rotten, who fights valiantly but eventually passes out from the pain. Robinson calls for the bell, but Meng refuses to release the Death Grip. On the contrary, he appears to lock it in deeper. Axl Rotten grabs a steel chair and rolls back into the ring. He bashes Barbarian across the back with the chair and then clobbers Meng with it. It does nothing – Meng still has the Death Grip applied! Axl bashes Meng with the chair again – and again! Finally Meng releases the hold, slowly gets back up and faces Axl Rotten with a look of fury in his eyes. Barbarian is back up now as well and The Faces of Fear have Axl trapped, but Rotten refuses to back down and he is in fact daring them to bring it on. Thankfully, Doug Dillinger arrives with WCW security and they flood the ring before Meng and Barbarian pounce. Fans, Axl Rotten showed a hell of a lot of heart here, but he might have been lucky that Meng and Barbarian weren’t able to exact their revenge. WINNERS: FACES OF FEAR *Todd Petingill is standing by with the team of Lance Storm and Kenta Kobashi, who are making their first appearance on WCW Monday Nitro after touring Japan together. Lance tells Todd that he feels his team with Kobashi can go to the top of the professional wrestling world because they compliment each other perfectly as partners. Todd announces that they will have a chance to prove it at SuperBrawl when they face another promising duo, Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman. Lance talks about his respect for those, but he is interrupted by Tiger Ali Snigh and Kurasawa. Kurasawa gets right in Kobashi’s face and yells at him in Japanese, while Lance and Todd look totally confused about what is going on. Tiger gets on he mic and says everyone knows that Kobashi shouldn’t be teaming with a lackluster and scheming Canadian star like Lance Storm, he should be teaming with his fellow countryman Kurasawa. Tiger says he and Kurasawa are giving Kobashi a limited opportunity to change his mind and dump Storm as his tag partner. Kobashi has been stoic through this, but he nods his head ‘no’ to Kurasawa, who goes nuts! Storm tells Tiger Ali Singh to mind his own business and walks off with Kurasawa as we go to break… **commercial break** *Avalanche is standing by in the dressing room with Todd Petingill. Todd says a lot of fans are calling him a sore loser for attacking Ice Train after losing his match last week. Avalanche snatches the microphone for Petingill to beat it if he wants to live to see another day. The big man says Ice Train got lucky last week, but as soon as the bell rang his luck ran out. Ice Train might think he’s really cute for causing him to eliminated earlier in the battle royal, but Avalanche says it two three, 300-pounders to eliminate him where Ice Train got tossed out by one man. Avalanche says if Ice Train is dumb enough to want another match with him, he can have one! The 400lb. Avalanche vows to squash “Ice Train like the puny little insect” he is if he dares step into the ring with him. Avalanche throws down the microphone and kicks the row of lockers behind him as we go back down to the ring where Dave Penzer is standing by… 3) The Giant (w/ The Taskmaster) vs. Rick Fuller: The big man Rick Fuller is one impressive physical specimen, but he’s dwarfed by Kevin Sullivan’s Giant. The Giant enters the ring and is charged by Fuller. Rick unloads with a series of rights and lefts, but they have no effect on The Giant. After a few seconds, Giant grabs Fuller by the head and demolishes him with a huge head-butt. The Giant then comes off the ropes and lands the world’s biggest elbow drop. The Taskmaster is now shouting for the end on the outside, so The Giant pops right back up and raises his right arm in the air. As Fuller gets to his feet, he walks right into a hands of The Giant, who lifts high into the air with ease and connects with a brutal Choke Slam! The Giant makes the cover to get the academic three count. WINNER: THE GIANT *The Taskmaster laughs maniacally in the ring after the match as The Giant stares down menacingly into the camera. The victory celebration is interrupted as Brian Pillman limps down the aisle with a microphone in hand. Pillman shouts for Sullivan to listen and it’s obvious that The Taskmaster is shocked to see Flyin’ Brian after that brutal attack at the Clash. Flyin’ Brian: “Sullivan – I bet you thought I was done when you sicked that big jacked-up sonovabitch of me! I’m bruised. I’m a little broken. But I’m still Brian F’N Pillman and I have no regard for my own wellbeing so big man, why don’t you meet me at SuperBrawl and I’ll slay you just like that prick David slayed Goliath! What do you say big boy?” The Giant nods his head ‘yes’ and then throws his right arm in the air again. Pillman: “Since I’m on a life-threatening role – Sullivan why don’t you and your Dungeon of Doom meet me and two partners in the ring right here next week on WCW Monday Nitro? Who are my partners right here next week on Nitro? Who are my partners you ask you little bald puissant? WHO KNOWS? I’ll find somebody!” Sullivan is once again laughing hysterically and shouts “YES!!!” as Brian Pillman hobbles back up the aisle. Schiavone: “Pillman must have some sort of plan to challenge a monster like The Giant or else he truly has gone totally insane!” We go to our next commercial break… **commercial break** *The Legion of Doom and their manager Paul Ellering are standing by with Todd Petingill. Ellering says he has to give The Nasty Boys credit for doing the impossible by taking the WCW World Tag Team Titles from Hawk and Animal. But the battle is not over. The LOD are owed a rematch, but they want a match that won’t just lead to a victor but also leave the other team in the depths of despair. Animal: “What Paul is saying is this, Nasty Boys! If you gut the guts and the know-how, why don’t we turn our rematch at SuperBrawl into a Birmingham Street Fight. No rules! No excuses! Just the way we like it!” Hawk: “A Birmingham Stret Fight? Might not be a Chicago Street Fight, but we can make due! Nasty Boys, be prepared to be decapitated by the doom! Ohhhhhhh what a rush!” Ellering closes the interview by telling The Nasty Boys that the ball is in their court to prove whether they are men or mere boys… 4) Rey Mysterio Jr. & Billy Kidman vs. La Parka & El Dandy A great lucha-style match here, where Kidman and Rey really prove their prowess as a tag team. La Parka has his moments in this one and manages to annoy everyone with his dances, but he gets caught during one such dance with a suspiciously low blow from Kidman. Billy tags Rey Jr., who comes off the top rope with a big dropkick and then goes up for the flying leg drop to score the win. Mysterio makes the cover to earn another huge win for this young team. WINNERS: REY MYSTERIO JR. & BILLY KIDMAN *Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman are interviewed by Todd Petingill after the match. Mysterio says he is very much looking forward to facing Lance Storm and Kenta Kobashi at SuperBrawl. Kidman adds that Storm and Kobashi may have proved a lot in Japan, but that doesn’t mean all that much here in WCW where the big boys play. Mysterio doesn’t agree and he tells Billy that they should both take Storm and Kobashi very seriously. The interview stops here as “The Iceman” Dean Malenko makes his way down the aisle and steps into the ring. Malenko asks for the microphone and says he has a challenge for Rey Mysterio Jr. Dean wants to get his career back on track and the way to do that is by defeating the best. Malenko has been very impressed by Mysterio and challenges him to face him one-on-one right here next week on WCW Monday Nitro. Mysertio says he would be honored to face Malenko, but is interrupted by Billy Kidman. Kidman: “First of all – um, hello? I’m here too. Second of all Iceman, you’re going to get melted… no, no, EVAPORATED by Rey next week. He’s going to eat you for dinner and send you back to Dullsville where you belong.” Mysterio snatches the microphone away from Kidman and tells Malenko he will see him next week. Mysterio and Kidman seem to bicker between themselves as we go to commercial… **commercial break** *WCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys make their way out to the ring as we come back. Brian Knobbs brags about fulfilling the Nasty Boys promise to take back the WCW World Tag Team Titles that they never actually lost in 1993. Knobbs says he speaks for Jerry Sags too when he accepts the Legion of Doom’s challenge for a Street Fight at SuperBrawl. The match may technically be taking place in Birmingham, England, but the LOD are headed for a one-way trip to Nastyville when they step into the ring with Knobbs and Sags. Jerry Sags then tells any and all comers to bring it on because The Nasty Boys love nothing better than a good fight. The Nasties hold up their titles for all the fans to see and then leave the ring so our next match can go ahead. It will feature the superstar who will challenge WCW Women’s Champion Madusa at WCW SuperBrawl on March: Bull Nakano… 5) Bull Nakano (w/ Tiger Ali Singh)vs. Ivory: The monstrous Bull Nakano dominates this one from bell-to-bell. Ivory lands a few shots and tries to get a little momentum going by coming off the ropes, but Nakano obliterates her with a sidewalk slam. Bull picks up Ivory and then hurls her back to the canvas with a German Release Suplex! The large Nakano then climbs the top rope and comes off with a moon-sault. She rolls Ivory over and covers for the easy three count. What an impressive this Bull Nakano has made here on WCW Monday Nitro! WINNER: BULL NAKANO *Tiger Ali Singh gets on the microphone and says that the American fans have just seen the most dominating woman wrestler ever and the next WCW Women’s Champion! Bull Nakano then gets on the microphone and screams in Japanese, until Madusa makes her way down the aisle. Madusa gets right in Nakano’s face and Bull tries a right hand. Madusa blocks it – she kicks Nakano in the stomach! The WCW Women’s Champion is now wailing away on Nakano and he lands a huge dropkick. Madusa is fired up here, but she becomes distracted by Tiger Ali Sinigh. Tiger gets collared by Madusa, but Nakano strikes her from behind! Bull pulls the dazed Madusa in and she wipes her out with a Sky High! Nakano then goes up to the second rope and leaps off with the flying leg drop! Madusa is laid out on the center of the ring as Bull Nakano grabs the WCW Women’s Title and she and Singh take off with it! Tiger Ali Singh and Bull Nakano have stolen Madusa’s newly won WCW Women’s Title… **commercial break** *As we come back, a clearly injured Madusa is standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone. Madusa promises that she will get her belt back at all costs and she has no problem hurting some people to do it. Madusa: “Nakano, you should know better than anyone that when you mess with the BULL you get the horns. Singh! Nakano! The BITCH is back and I’m coming to get my title!” She throws the microphone and storms back to the dressing room. We go back to Mike Tenay and Tony Schiavone, who discuss Sting’s role as leader of Team WCW against The Outsiders at WCW Super Brawl. Tenay says Sting has a lot on his plate, but if anyone can handle the pressure it’s the Franchise of World Championship Wrestling. Schiavone then sends us back up to the ring to see Sting put his title on the line against the Dungeon of Doom’s Mortis… 6) WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Sting vs. Mortis (w/ The Taskmaster): These two start off brawling, with Sting getting the upper-hand with a series of strikes. Stinger takes control with a big boot and then an uppercut to the face of the doubled-over Mortis. Sting then bounces off the ropes and connects with a vicious knee drop to the throat of Mortis and then applies a side headlock and really wrenches back on it. Stinger is constantly trying to get a better position on the hold, but he eventually releases the hold and begins softening up the left neck of Mortis for the Scorpion Death Drop. The Taskmaster, in the words of Pat Patterson, is going BANANA on the outside as Sting works over his meal ticket. As Stinger tries to apply his patented reverse DDT, Mortis manages to latch onto the ropes and block Sting from dropping down on the hold. As Stinger goes to lock in the Scorpion Death Drop once again, Mortis shoots him off and struggles to his feet and connects with a spinning wheel kick that nearly takes Sting’s head off. Mortis then nails the spinning neckbreaker and goes for the cover, but somehow Sting kicks out at the last possible second. Mortis looks to signaling for the end, but he takes too long and Stinger nails him from behind and looks his arms and he levels Mortis with the Scorpion Death Lock! Just as he gets up to go for the cover, there’s a commotion in the crowd as The Outsiders are charging down one of the aisle of seats! Scott Hall and Kevin Nash try to hop the guard-rail, but WCW security are their to stop them. Hall and Nash are shouting at Sting, who responds in kind by yelling at them from the ring. While Sting and referee Charles Robinson are distracted, The Taskmaster rolls into the ring and wakes up Mortis. It looks like hands Mortis a roll of quarters! Sullivan helps Mortis up and then drops back out to the floor. Mortis charges over, pulls Sting around and decks him with the roll of quarters! Mortis tosses the foreign object out the floor as Sting falls into the corner. Mortis then drives him into the canvas with the Implant DDT! Mortis makes the cover for the 1-2-3!!! Mortis has just stolen the WCW United States Heavyweight Title, thanks to the interference of The Taskmaster and unintended assist from The Outsiders! Or was it unintended? Hall and Nash now back up and are smiling at each as they walk back up the aisle. In the ring, Sting pulls himself up and kicks the ropes angrily as he tries to shake off that painful blast from Mortis. The Taskmaster and Mortis are celebrating in the aisle! WINNER: WCW UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION MORTIS *We now go back to the announce position where Tony Schiavone and Mike Tenay wrap up this week’s show and plug SuperBrawl coming up on March 11, live on pay-per-view from Birmingham, England. Next week here on WCW Monday, we will see Lance Storm and Kenta Kobashi make their WCW debut as they take on the double-tough team of Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater. We’ll also have Rey Mysterio Jr. accepting the challenge of Dean Malenko. Plus, the Dungeon of Doom will team up to take on Brian Pillman and two partners. In the main event, WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair defending against “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright. Mike and Tony hype next week’s show as ‘can’t miss’ because Sting has also vowed to announce his two partners for Team WCW next week and you have to believe he is extra motivated after just being cheated out of the WCW United States Heavyweight Title. Tony Schiavone then signs off for the night and urges everyone to be sure to tune into WCW weekend programming and just again next week on WCW Monday Nitro from Hunstville, Alabama… (c) WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING

Schiavone and Tenay then send us up to the ring for our very first match of the night… 1) Steve “Mongo” McMichael vs. Super Calo: A styles clash to open up the show this week. Mongo has yet to close a singles match and his run continues in this match where he uses his power to dominate. Super Calo comes back late in the match with a leaping DDT and then goes up top for the flying leg drop. Mongo manages to move out of the way, sending Calo crashing to the canvas. McMichael scoops Super Calo up and then plants him with the tombstone pile-driver! Mongo wins again! WINNER: STEVE “MONGO” MCMICAHEL *Steve McMichael is interviewed in the ring by Todd Petingill after the match. Mongo says he keeps on winning here in WCW and he is sure as heck plans to keep that streak going. Todd says one man standing in his way potentially is Sgt. Craig “Pittbull” Pittman, who Mongo brawled with in last week’s battle royal. Mongo: “Let me tell you something, baby! If that Pittbull wants a shot at Mongo, I’m ready and willing. He’s got that Code Red armbar, but he’ll never get that hold on me, baby! If the Pitbull has any kind of guts at all, he’ll meet me right here next week on WCW Monday Nitro!” Mongo then poses on the turnbuckles and charges out of the ring. We go back to Mike Tenay and Tony Schiavone who announce WCW will be taking part in Japan’s Super J Cup tournament next month. Tenay hypes as the biggest event in Japan and promises that next week he will announce the competitors for this tournament. The event will be available for purchase on pay-per-view, but again he’ll provide more details here next week on WCW Monday Nitro… **commercial break** *Todd Petingill is plugging the WCW Hotline on the entrance ramp, when he is interrupted by none other than former WCW star Marcus Alexander Bagwell. Bagwell apologizes for interrupting, but he has something much more important to say than whatever Petingill was talking about. Bagwell talks about spending a few years here in WCW, but he left about a year ago to make a name for himself elsewhere. He’s done that now so he is back in WCW, where the big boys play, because this is the hot spot in professional wrestling. Bagwell promises that he will be shaking up everything here in WCW and most importantly, all his ladies watching on TV and those in the audience will get to see their favorite wrestler once again here on WCW Monday Nitro. Bagwell then motions for Petingill to move out of the way and he begins flexing for the camera. The fans begin booing, but Marcus Alexander Bagwell doesn’t even acknowledge the boos as he flexes and flashes that cheesy smile. Bagwell raises his arms in the air and says, “I'm buff, I'm tough, I'm the stuff... and the girls can't get enough!” Marcus Bagwell then walks back up the ramp, but stops at the tope. He turns around to hit one more pose and by now the fans are going with full out “You suck” chants as he walks back through the curtain… 2) Rey Mysterio Jr. (w/ Billy Kidman) vs. Dean Malenko: Mysterio and Malenko lock up, with The Iceman taking Rey down to the canvas and working him over with a series of side-headlocks and even a leg-scissors. Kidman rallies the fans on the outside, but Malenko really keeps the pressure on Mysterio and looks to have the win in hand on several occasions. Late in the match, Malenko plants Rey with a suplex and then hits the ropes for a knee drop, only to get tripped up by Kidman! Dean Malenko is right back up and he pulls Kidman onto the apron by his hair and looks to deck him. Mysterio is up thought and he dropkicks Dean into the corner. Rey Mysterio is now arguing with his tag team partner Billy Kidman! Mysterio angrily chides Kidman for interfering, but Billy is playing innocent here and saying he didn’t do anything. This allows Dean Malenko time to recover and he elbows Mysterio from behind and applies a waist-lock, Malenko pops the hips and propels Mysterio backs, but Rey gets out of it in mid air and lands on his feet! Malenko gets back to his feet just in time for Rey to catch him with a hurricanrana! Mysterio stays up top and hooks both legs as the referee makes the count for the 1-2-3! Rey Mysterio Jr. gets perhaps the biggest win of his career over Dean Malenko! WINNER: REY MYSTERIO JR. *Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman look to be arguing in the ring when Todd Petingill enters. Mysterio tells Kidman that he’s told him before not to interfere in his matches – he doesn’t need or want help! Billy once again denies that he did anything wrong and claims that Dean Malenko picked a fight with him. Mysterio isn’t buying it, but Billy Kidman calms him down by revealing that he’s booked a huge match for them at Super Brawl. Kidman reveals that he and Rey will face Lance Storm and Kenta Kobashi. Kidman sells this is a match coup for them because Storm and Kobashi can barely get along. Mysterio says it is a big opportunity because Storm and Kobashi are two of the best, not for any other reason. Kidman replies: “Yeah, that’s what I meant!” Kidman then says they need to talk some strategy and walks off with Mysterio as Todd Petingill wraps up the segment… **commercial break** *VTR: Ice Train is standing by in front of the WCW logo. The man’s ribs are still heavily taped after the attack perpetrated by Avalanche two weeks ago. Ice Train talks about how he’s come back to WCW to right the wrongs of the past and show these fans that he is someone that can be looked up to. And he still plans to do that – after he finishes things with Avalanche. Ice Train says Avalanche is just like the schoolyard bully who picked on him as a child. His mother and father taught him to keep his head down and stay on the straight and narrow so for a long time he allowed him to get victimized by the big fat bully. Then one day he couldn’t take it anymore. That big fat bully pushed him as he walking into class one day… Train had taken all he could stand! Train hit that bully! Then he hit him again! And again! And soon enough that bully had a bloody nose. Ice Train: “That bully never did bother me again. Avalanche, you pushed me too far. I’ve taken all I’m going to take. If you have the guts to get back in the ring with me Super Brawl, you’re going to end up bloody and beaten just like that big fat bully did!” Ice Train glares into the camera as we go back to the ring… 3) WCW World Cruiserweight Champion Super Delfin vs. Hector Guerrero: One of the great wrestling Guerrero brothers makes his first appearance here on WCW Monday Nitro as part of WCW’s commitment to bringing the very best international stars to the viewer. Guerrero gets some steam going and almost scores a three count with the Gory Bomb. Hector then goes off the top rope for the flying senton splash, but Delfin leaps up and catches Hector in midair. Super Delfin drives him into a brutal back-breaker! Super Delfin gets to his feet, but Hector is slow to get back up. Delfin charges, hooks Hector and lays him out with the brutal Osaka Street Cutter. Delfin makes the cover to successfully retain his championship gold. WINNER: WCW WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION SUPER CRAZY *Hector Guerrero is standing by at ringside with Todd Petingill. Hector talks about giving Super Delfin a hell of a fight, but admits he came up a little short. Guerrero praises the competition here in WCW, saying it’s the very best in the world today and that is why he is here. Hector is going to climb his way up the ladder to earn another title match and bring home the WCW World Cruiserweight Title. Hector also reveals to Todd that he isn’t the only Guerrero that we are going to be seeing here in WCW, but refuses to reveal any more. We go back to Mike Tenay and Tony Schiavone, who talk about the legacy of the Guerrero family in professional wrestling. Tenay discusses Hector’s many title runs across the US and Mexico and says that he is very much looking forward to seeing more Guerreros here in WCW, as Hector promised… **commercial break** *Todd Petingill is joined by Avalanche, who was challenged earlier by Ice Train for a match at Super Brawl. Avalanche: “I heard what the Ice Train said! I heard he compared me to a bully that tormented him in school. The kid used to beat up him each and every day of his life. What Ice Train didn’t tell you is that happened a month ago.” Avalanche flashes that snide grin. Avalanche: “So you beat up a kid? Good for you, Ice Train! But I’m not a kid! I’m 450-pounds of viciousness, aggression and pure meanness. You want to get back in the ring with me after I squashed you like a bug? You’re on! Next time though Ice Train, they’re going to have to scrape you off the canvas with a spatula! At Super Brawl, I end your career!” Avalanche shoves Todd Petingill and walks off as we go back to the ring for our next match… 4) Rough N’ Read (Dick Slater & Bunkhouse Buck) vs. Lance Storm & Kenta Kobashi: Slater and Buck are two tough hombres and they aren’t afraid to break any rules. They attack Kobashi and Storm as they enter the ring and throw Kenta out to the floor. Buck and Slater then take turns working over Storm in the ring, bending every rule possible to keep control. Towards the end of the match, Kurasawa and his manager Tiger Ali Singh once again march down to ringside and they confront Tiger Ali Singh on the apron! Lance Storm, meanwhile, hits a super kick on Bunkhouse Buck and then sees what’s going on in the corner. Storm charges over and decks Tiger Ali Singh! He’s jumped from behind by Dick Slate, who lays Storm out with a neckbreaker and then makes the cover! Kobashi goes to enter the ring, but he’s held back by Kurasawa. Kurasawa is shouting something in Japanese to Kobashi. Rough N’ Ready get the win in their WCW Monday Nitro debut, but it wasn’t without assistance. Kobashi meanwhile has shoved Kurasawa away and goes into the ring to help his partner. Kurasawa grabs his manager Tiger Ali Singh and they charge back to the dressing room, while Dick Slater and Bunkhouse buck celebrate at ringside. WINNERS: ROUGH N’ READY *Todd Petingill is standing by backstage with “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright, who is mere minutes away from his match against WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair. Wright tells Petingill that he’s spent the last week training like never before because he knows a shot at the World Champion is an opportunity of a lifetime. Alex talks about his father Steve Wright’s reign as European Heavyweight Champion and says Steve always dreamed to winning the World Title. Alex wants to make his father’s dream come true through him so he’s going to give his all tonight. Todd asks how Alex plans to counteract Ric Flair’s notorious rule-breaking. Wright answers that he’s been in the ring with some of the best rule-breakers in Europe so he knows to have eyes in the back of his head. The bottom line is tonight is Alex Wright’s chance to make himself the biggest star in the world and he willing to put his body on the line to make it happen. Alex Wright thanks the fans for their support and then Todd sends us to a commercial… **commercial break** *Brian Pillman is in the ring as we come back and he has a microphone in hand. Pillman promised he’d have two tag team partners tonight against the Dungeon of Doom. It took $500, but he has his tag team partners – MENG AND BARBARIAN, THE FACES OF FEAR!!! Barbarian and Meng walk down to the ring and eye Pillman suspiciously. The Dungeon of Doom’s music hits and here comes The Taskmaster by himself with a microphone. Kevin Sullivan says Pillman might have thought he was one step ahead by recruiting Meng and Barbarian, but he was wrong. The Taskmaster agreed that “the Dungeon” would face Pillman and his two partners tonight – he didn’t say who would be representing the Dungeon! Kevin Sullivan first brings out the brand new WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Mortis. Sullivan then says he doesn’t just reach into the netherworld to fill his Dungeon – he also traveled to the most dangerous places on earth. The Taskmaster reveals that the newest members of the Dungeon of Doom are from South Central in Los Angeles and they’ve spent their lives conquering the streets. The Taskmaster calls out his Samoan Gangster Party – SAMMY THE SILK & MACK DADDY KANE!!!!! These two monsters men run down do the ring and they do not look like they are to be messed with… 5) The Dungeon of Doom (Mortis & The Samoan Gangster Party) (w/ The Taskmaster) vs. Flyin’ Brian Pillman & The Faces of Fear (Meng & Barbarian): This is really not much of a six-man match as The Faces of Fear immediately begin brawling with the Samoan Gangster Party in the aisle way. Meng and Sammy The Silk trade kicks and stomps, while Barbarian slams Mack Daddy Kane’s head into the steel guard rail. These four men never actually get in the ring and end up brawling up the aisle to the dressing room. That leaves WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Mortis in the ring with Brian Pillman. These two put on a hell of a contest, with each man throwing caution to the wind. The finish sees The Taskmaster jump up on the apron, only for Pillman to hurl Mortis into him. Flyin’ Brian then hits the ropes and connects with a running bulldog to score the pin on the WCW US Champion! WINNERS: BRIAN PILLMAN & THE FACES OF FEAR *Brian Pillman immediately rolls out to the floor and gloats in the aisle. Not for long because charging down the aisle behind is… THE GIANT! The big man grabs Pillman by the hair and throws him back into the ring. Pillman tries to fight back with some punches, but The Giant levels him with a headbutt that floors Flyin’ Brian. Pillman wobbles back to his feet and walks right into… THE CHOKE-SLAM!!! The Giant has just laid Brian Pillman out once again! Now Mortis is back up and he climbs to the top rope for a flying knee drop! The Taskmaster is up as well and lands a series of stomps. Sullivan cackles as the monstrous Giant throws his right hand into the air and growls at the camera. Will Brian Pillman even make it to his match with The Giant at Super Brawl – and will he survive if he does show up? The Dungeon of Doom leave Brian Pillman sprawled out on the canvas as we to commercial break… **commercial break** *Todd Pettingil is standing in the aisle and he calls out the WCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys! Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags come out and talk about their Street Fight against the Legion of Doom at Super Brawl. Knobbs and Sags talk about how they’ve already beaten the LOD, but this is a chance to crush the legacy of the Road Warriors. The interview is interrupted at this point by Rough N’ Read (Dick Slater & Bunkhouse Buck), who earned a victory earlier on in this telecast. Dick Slater gets right in Brian Knobbs’ face and says he’s heard all these stories about how tough the Nasty Boys and the Road Warriors are, but the Nasties don’t look so tough to him right now. Slater says: “You boys think you’re tough because you have Mohawks! You know how I spent my Sunday night? Me and Buck went to a bar here in Nawlins and he busted a barstool over my head! Then I busedt one over his head! You know what we call that? A good time!” Slater and Buck start laughing, but the levity ends as Knobbs shoves Dirty Dick! Slater responds in kind! A brawl breaks out between the two teams, but prelim wrestlers arrive with WCW security to break it up. Knobbs grabs the ringside microphone and says if Rough N’ Ready want to prove how tough they are, they can meet The Nasty Boys in the ring next week here on WCW Monday Nitro... 6) WCW World Heavyweight Champion “Nature Boy” Ric Flair (w/ Ted Dibiase) vs. “Dad Wunderkid” Alex Wright: “Also Sprach Zarathustra” begins in the arena and here he comes – THE MAN! Ric Flair struts down the aisle in his blue robe and stops in the aisle, does a twirl, and slips open his robe to show the WCW World Heavyweight Title around his waste. Flair hits the ring, bounces off the ropes and does the strut down the middle of the ring. Ric hands the WCW World Heavyweight Title to Ted Dibiase as the German techno music begins playing. The music runs for a few seconds, but there’s no Alex Wright. The music stops and then starts up again – OK here we go fans! This one is going to be a heck of a contest… no Alex Wright again. OH NO!!!! Coming from the area behind the announce booth are Kevin Nash and Scott Hall! Hall has a bat in his hand! Tony Schiavone says he’s being told now that Alex Wright has been laid out in the back. The Outsiders have struck once again – but how did they get in the building? Who let the Outsiders in the building here tonight? Nash and Hall swiftly walk to ringside, where Ric Flair is eyeing his manager Ted Dibiase and then glancing back up the aisle. Hall and Nash hit the ring now and look at this – Flair puts up his dukes! He may be a snake in the grass, but he’s still one gutsy sunovabitch! The Outsiders pounces, but Flair is decking both of them! Flair chops Hall! Flair chops Nash! WOOOOOOOOOO! Flair rears back and he decks Scott hall with a right hand! From behind, Nash catches Flair with the big knee! Nash and Hall are now mauling Ric Flair in the corner. Dibiase tries to pull Nash away, but Big Daddy Cool kicks him in the gut and power-bombs the hell out of the Million Dollar Man! Dibiase is laid out on the canvas - he's been seriously hurt here! This is not looking good for the WCW World Heavyweight Champion! Hall drags Flair into the center of the ring and now he’s signaling for the crucifix power-bomb. The fans are on their feet now and they are cheer because look who is sprinting down the aisle: . . . . . . . STING sprints down the aisle and he dives into the ring! Scott Hall charges over, but Sting boots him in the stomach. Sting hits the ropes with a big clothesline on Hall, knocks him out to the floor. Flair is making his own comeback with chops to the chest – The Nature Boy kicks Nash low! Now, we have Sting and Flair working together as they hammer on Nash and knock him back into the corner. Sting backs up now and he’s going for the Stinger Splash! No – Scott Hall pulls Kevin Nash out to the floor. Both Outsiders shout that Flair and Sting are going to pay for this as they hop the railing. Just as this occurs, Chris Benoit charges down the aisle and he runs right over the guard rail. He’s climbing the rail now to go after The Outsiders, but Ric Flair arrives to hold him back. At the same time, Ted Dibiase is being carried out of the ring by WCW security… *Todd Petingill now steps into the ring to interview Sting, but Stinger snatches the microphone from him. Sting shouts for Flair and Benoit to come into the ring. They comply and Sting says this is what WCW should have been doing for the last month. Sting: “United we stand, divided we fall! So far we’ve been freefalling, but not tonight! Ric – Ric, you and me, we’ve spilled each other’s blood more often than either of us can remember. But why did we do it, Ric? We did for that big gold belt you hold. We did it for the tradition and honor that belt represents. We did it to be the best of the best here in WCW. So Ric Flair, I’m asking you and this Wolverine, whose one of the toughest young guys in this sport – I’m asking both of you to put aside our differecnces and unite for ONE NIGHT to take down these stinkin’ Outsiders! What do you say, Ric?” Sting hands the microphone to Ric Flair. Flair: “Stinger – oh Stinger! You want to team with the Nature Boy? You want to team with the Canadian Crippler? Stinger – as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion – all I have to say is…. WOOOOOOOOOOO, YOU GOT A DEAL PAL!! OUTSIDERS - STING, FLAIR AND BENOIT ARE UNITED!!!!” Flair hits the ropes and struts down the center of the ring, while Sting lets out an “OOOOOOOOOOWWWWW!” Fans, Team WCW has formed! Sting and Flair are uniting to save World Championship Wrestling… *We now go back to the announce position where Tony Schiavone and Mike Tenay wrap up this week’s show and plug SuperBrawl coming up on March 11, live on pay-per-view from Birmingham, England. Mike and Tony spend a few minutes talking about the momentous sight of Sting and Ric Flair shaking hands in the ring and uniting with WCW World Television Champion Chris Benoit. Team WCW has formed and they’re going to kick butt, says Tony! On next week’s WCW Monday Nitro, we will see WCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys defend against Rough N’ Ready. We will also see WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Mortis defend his title for the very first time. Plus, Sting will step into the ring against the massive 500lb One Man Gang and Steve “Mongo” McMichael takes on Sgt. Craig “Pitbull” Pittman. Hopefully we will have an update on Alex Wright as well. All that and much more as the march to Super Brawl continues on WCW Monday Nitro… (c) WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING
