Chris Cruise is glad we have joined them for the first broadcast of Universal Wrestling Alliance Friday Night Fights! Callis could care less and says the people should count their lucky stars that he will be having intellectual intercourse with them this evening. Cruise gives a brief history of the UWA as one of the biggest promotions in Mexican wrestling, and now they have decided to branch out into the United States!!
The World Title will be decided in a tournament that begins here tonight! Men like Lou Thesz, El Canek, Big Van Vader and Antonio Inoki have worn this prestigious title!!! In our first round match, Konnan takes on Psycosis!! Cruise states that broadcast partner Kevin Kelly will talk to Dick Slater about his protégé, the big Texan and second generation bruiser Bobby Duncam Jr., in addition we also see Eddy Guerrero team with his nephew Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Chavo's tag team partner Hector Garza to face 2 Cold Scorpio, and the team of “Disco” Glen Gilberti and “Little” Guido Maritato collectively known as the FBI!
"The Power Warrior" Kensuke Sasaki defeats Kid Dynamo with a Northern Lights Bomb. The young Dynamo tried to battle the “Power Warrior” but Sasuki’s strength was more than the young man could handle. Cruise put over Sasaki as one of the best wrestlers in Japan and says next week he will meet Vampiro in a World Title Tournament match!
2 Cold Scorpio, and The FBI (“Disco” Glen Gilberti and “Little” Guido Maritato) defeat Eddy Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Hector Garza when Scorpio pinned Eddy after reversing a brainbuster into a brainbuster of his own and hitting a Frog Splash for the win. Chris Cruise does not think that Eddy is going to take lightly to the insult of Scorpio using Eddy’s finish on Eddy.
Kevin Kelly talks to Dick Slater with his protégé Bobby Duncam Jr. . Slater talks about the war he has had for the last year with Konnan, they have fought all over the US, Mexico, Europe and finally Japan. He says that his career was ended by Konnan when they met in a match in Japan two weeks ago. Slater says he may not be able to wrestle anymore, but that isn’t going to stop him from destroying Konnan and getting even. Slater says he knows Duncam’s daddy and has known Duncam Jr. his whole life, he says the big Texan feels no pain, fears no man and will destroy Konnan before it is all said and done!!!
Vampiro defeats Chris Daniels with the Nail in the Coffin. Daniels is very young and extremely cocky, Cyrus likes him and thinks he could go far. Daniels shows some flashes here but Vampiro is too much for him, Cruise once again hypes the Vampiro vs. Sasaki Tournament match that will air here next week!
WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT
QUARTER FINALS:
Konnan with Vampiro defeats Psycosis with Super Crazy, Super Crazy kept getting involved as Vampiro came down to the ring to stand with his long time friend and ally. Konnan pins Psycosis after a Fisherman Buster. Crazy and Psycosis try to beat down Vampiro and Konnan after the match but come up short. Dick Slater with Bobby Duncam Jr. comes out and stares at Konnan from the aisle. Konnan invites the big man to get into the ring to face him but Slater holds him back. Konnan is yelling at Bobby Duncam Jr. as the show goes off the air.
