11/2/94 - West Virginia University Coliseum Morgantown, WVWhen Eastern Championship Wrestling begins we're in the office of Eric Bischoff who is doing some paperwork. He looks a little shaky and jumps when a knock is heard at the door. He asks who it is and when nobody answers he tells them to come inside or go away. The door opens to reveal...Steve Corino. Eric sighs and asks him if he's finished cleaning the locker rooms. Corino says he's been finished with that. And he's just about finished with Eric Bischoff's business altogether. He says Bischoff has had his fun and he gets it. But he's not a damned janitor. He's a wrestler. And that if Eric doesn't plan on using him then he has other offers. They don't need to be a thorn in one another's side.
Bischoff chuckles. He reminds Corino that he's still under contract. And can't wrestle anywhere else unless Eric himself decides to let him. That Corino made a big mistake crossing him. That Steve should have remembered that his career was in Bischoff's hands and that if all Eric wants him to do is be a damned janitor; then all Steve Corino will ever be is a damned janitor.
Corino looks really frustrated and says that he's sorry for what he said. That he knows he's a jerk with a big mouth; but Eric has been riding him for months and Buck Zumhoff? He got his revenge on him when he defeated him at Hotter Than Hell. But he hasn't had a match in months. And now this Tournament? It's supposed to be open to EVERY member of the roster. And as Eric just pointed out, he is under contract; so "The Saviour of Sea Ilse City" Steve Corino's name should be on the damned list somewhere. He tells Eric to "Use me or release me."
Bischoff tells Corino that he has every intention of burying him. But that tonight Steve Corino is in luck. Because someone who's no longer with the company messed up. There's 15 competitors in the Tournament at the moment. 15. Bischoff thought of having a Triple Threat Match thrown in to take care of the odd number. But he's just decided Corino should be in the Tournament. Fair is fair after all. And in fact; his Match is next. The camera then cuts back to ringside where Mean Gene Okerlund welcomes us to the West Virginia University Coliseum in lovely Morgantown, West Virginia. His co-host "The Genius" Lanny Poffo doesn't think it's so "lovely." And neither are the women. A "10" in West Virgina according to Lanny simply means she has more than 10 teeth in her head. Gene excuses him before they run down tonight's show which will feature the first four Second Round Tournamnet Matches in addition to the Main Event which will see Eastern Heavyweight Champ "Macho Man" Randy Savage in action. The Tournament is of course to determine the number one contender for Savage's Title at ECW's first PPV; The Wrestle Annual on December 1st.Beulah McGillicutty then introduces the compeitors in the first Tournament Match which is officiated by S.D. Jones.
Steve Corino comes out first and Okerlund says that while he doesn't like him and agrees his actions were disrespectul; Bischoff is going a little overboard ruining the kid's entire career. Lanny found his smacking Zumhoff on Conan O'Brien to be amusing and is giddy over who his opponent will be; sure Eric has chosen someone to punish the young upstart further.Match: Steve Corino vs. Big Bad John From the bell the much larger Big Bad John tears Steve Corino apart. He looks well on his way to a squash when he slams him over his knee with a backbreaker and makes the cover. "The Saviour" however saves himself and stuns the crowd when he powers out a second before the three count. Lifting him up to his feet John applies an armwrench before taking his head off with another clothesline. He makes the cover but only comes away with a two. John seems to be growing a little frustrated and picking Steve up whips him across the ring. On his way back however Corino pops up and nails Big Bad with a spinning wheel kick out of nowhere. John stumbles backward knocking referee S.D. Jones down to one knee against the ropes. While the refs back is turn Steve Corino kicks Big Bad John hard in the nuts before running back into the ropes and using the momentum as to nail the big man who's now down on his knees with the Sliding C Special sliding lariat. Jones didn't see a thing of course and Corino picks up the win.In a prerecored segment "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady tells us that in that in this Tournament he realizes he's an underdog, but he's out to prove what the Fighting Irish can do. And with a little luck he's going to capture the ECW Title.Lanny says that O'Grady is going to need more than a bit of Irish luck to come away on December 21st the Eastern Heavyweight Championship. He's going to need a damned miracle. Gene says that it's not always the size of the dog in the fight that wins matches; but the fight in the dog. Poffo says that well be; but Erin O'Grady isn't facing any dog here tonight, but instead "The Man-Beast" Rhino.Match: Rhino vs. Erin O'Grady Erin O'Grady puts up a decent fight against Rhino, keeping the big man on his toes. It isn't long however until "The Man Beast's" sheer size advantage puts him over and after rocking "The Leprechaun" with a fall away slam; Erin O'Grady's luck runs out when Rhino connects with The Gore striking spear which has Danny Davis delivering the three count.
After the match a sweaty Rhino plods over to the announcer's table and says that he's not going to win this Tournament because he's the quickest on his feet, or because he's the toughest or even best wrestler on this roster. He's going to win it because he's the meanest man in this arena. Lanny and Gene certainly aren't arguing. When Eastern Championship returns from break Mean Gene and Lanny discuss the Events concerning referee Teddy Long on last week's show. They tell us that Long only suffered minor injuries, claiming to have been attacked by someone he didn't see. Okerlund thinks ECW President Eric Bischoff is a jackass because he is sticking with his decision to fire Long earlier that night for no good reason. Poffo says that of course there was a good reason. He cost Bischoff a pair of pants.
They then dicuss the Tournament so far, reminding us how so far tonight Steve Corino and Rhino have won their Second Round matches to advance to the third round which begins in two weeks and is scheduled to be four matches; all of which will take place that night on November 16th. "Paradise City" by Guns 'N Rose then hits as Scott Taylor appears from the back with "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson in tow.Match: Scott Taylor vs. Buck Zumhoff Referee S.D. Jones officiates this match which see Scott Taylor and Buck Zumhoff battle back and forth for control. Taylor obviously gives Zumhoff more of a fight than "The Rock 'N Roller" was expecting, getting several nearfalls, his closet with a Float Over DDT. The veteran Zumhoff is no slouch however and he begins taking "The Superstar" seriously when following a pin attempt after a suplex, Taylor not only kicks out, but rolls Buck up for a two count. Frustrated; Buck Zumhoff takes control for the rest of the Match, finally taking Scott Taylor down with a Missile Dropkick from the top.Afterwards we're taken to a pre-recored clip of "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff telling us how at ECW Wrestle Annual on December 1st he's going to win the ECW Heavyweight Title for all the little "Rock 'N Rollers" out there."Mean" Gene Okerlund welcomes us back to Eastern Championship Wrestling before telling us that next week ECW will be coming to us live from the Ritchie Coliseum in College Park, Maryland where the second half of the Second Round Tournament matches will take place. As usual those folks not in the area should tune in right here on ECW's home station of TNN The Nashville Network.
He and Lanny then talk about how up next we'll be witnessing some Tag-Team action. Lanny comments on how it's been a while since we've seen The Lawlers operate as a team here in ECW. Gene seems more concerned with possible interference by "Wildfire" Tommy Rich.Tag-Team Match: The Hughes Brothers vs. The Lawlers Brian Lawler locks up with Devon Hughes to start things off when Danny Davis starts the match. The two men are pretty evenly matched and things are looking good for Brian when he makes the cover after hitting Devon with a back body drop. Hughes kicks out at two however and after smashing Brian in the face with a back elbow off the rebound of an Irish whip he tags Spike Hughes in. Spike immiedately goes up top and takes Brian down with a flying clothesline. Keeping on top of the young Lawler Spike puts the boots to him before hitting a jumping elbow drop and making the cover. Brian powers out at two and gets to one knee as Spike begins hammering on his head. Meanwhile Jerry Lawler is on the outside cheering his son on to make the tag when a tomato is lobbed from the audience catching him square in the back of the head. When "The King" turns around annoyed he is met with a second tomato splattering on his face. Jerry wipes it off to see Tommy Rich in the audience heckling him! Angered Jerry goes after "Wildfire" who hops the barricade and heads up the ramp to the back. Meanwhile inside the ring Brian Lawler has battled his way back up to his feet. He and Spike are going punch for punch, with Brian clearly getting the better of his smaller opponent before clotheslining him down to the mat. Worn out Brian looks to make the tag to his father, but Jerry is in his corner! He looks up the ramp just in time to see Tommy Rich disappear into the back with "The King" in hot pursuit. As Jerry enters the back however he's hit in the gut with a Kendo Stick! From the back appears the masked man from last week! He hits Lawler with the stick again, breaking it in half over Jerry's shoulder as Tommy Rich reappears mocking his downed opponent. Inside the ring Brian Lawler is annoyed and catches Spike make the tag to Devon out of the corner of his eye. Devon Hughes is up on the top turnbuckles and goes airborne as Brian turns toward him and connects with a Flying Headbutt! Brian goes down like a sack of bricks. Devon rolls on the floor clutching his head for a bit in pain before slinging his arm over the unconscious Lawler to pick up the win.Tommy Rich is backstage celebrating how he got one over on that idiot Jerry "The King" Lawler. He pats his accomplice who is still wearing the motorcycle helmet on the back. "Wildfire" then tells us that he's going to win this Tournament and walk out of the Nassau Coliseum the ECW Champion on December 1st because he has one thing in spades that none of the other competitors at Eastern Championship have. Cunning. He then pats the masked man on the back once again. As ECW returns to air Takako Inoue is in the ring with referee S.D. Jones and Kaz Hayashi. Kaz reverentially removes Takako's robe before bowing to her and removing himself from the ring. Lanny says he wouldn't mind undressing her himself. Okerlund says he's sure she would mind. They then hype this as her debut match here at Eastern Championship when "Rockin' Robin" by Bobby Daye hits and Rockin' Robin bounds down to the ring. Match: Takako Inoue vs. Rockin' Robin The match has good back and forth and moves at a quick pace until Takako Inoue whips Rockin' Robin into the ropes and hits her with a belly to back suplex. A dazed and confused Robin stumbles back up to her feet only to be greeted by Inoue's Beauty Fist spinning back fist that puts her opponent down for the count. We then are taken to a prerecorded segment where "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch tells us how he ain't like any of them other stooges in the back. That he don't got no fancy pants like the Champion, don't go jumping around all crazy like those Japanese fellas; or rely on his friends like that Jericho kid. Ol' Dick Murdoch don't need nobody to prove he's one of the best athletes in this here sport; which is why on December 1st he's gonna provide us with a Champion the American people can be proud of. Dick Murdoch.Mean Gene welcomes us back and tells us before the break we witnessed the tremendous debut of Takako Inoue. Poffo then wonders what the chances are that Dick Murdoch could end up Champion here tonight. "Mean" Gene isn't sure he wants someone like Murdoch representing him or this company. Lanny asks what sort of person would that be; but Gene refuses to elaborate. Beulah then introduces the contestants for the last Tournament Match of the evening.Match: Ronnie Garvin vs. Dick Murdoch There isn't much wrestling in this one as far as brawls go; this one is ugly. Both men tear into each other keeping referee Danny Davis busy; Murdoch gaining the advantage after raking Garvin's back. He then proceeds to hammer Ronnie's head into the ring post and when Davis stops him from contuing, Murdoch takes "The Rugged One" down to the mat with a snapmare. With Garvin finally down Dick goes grabs him up and signals for the Brain Buster; but Garvin pushes Dick away and nails him with an uppercut. "Captain Redneck" stumbles backward hitting the mat hard as Ronnie Garvin grabs his legs and locks in the figure four leglock! Dick howls in pain and reaches for the ropes in vain. They're too far away and he's forced to tap.Devon Hughes then comes on with a pre-recored segment. He's with Spike Hughes and tells us while his little buddy's luck may've run out; there's one Hughes Brother still in the Tournament. And he's gonna take the fight to anyone who steps in his way on the road to becoming ECW Champion. Testify! When Eastern Championship returns Gene Okerlund welcomes us back from the last commercial break of the evening. They then hype tonight's Main Event in which Eastern Heavyweight Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage is set to take on "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman. Okerlund says that he's been very impressed with the Annville, Pennsylvania native; citing his past match with Rick Rude and last week's bout with "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady. Both losing efforts Lanny reminds us; telling us while he mahy dislike the "Macho Chumpion;" "The Silent Assassin" is about to get silenced.
Randy Savage then emerges from the back with Debbie Combs as Pomp and Circumstance plays. Inside the ring he posing with the ECW Championship which is around his waist before handing it over to referee S.D. Jones. Main Event: Randy Savage vs. Steve Blackman Steve Blackman gets in a bit of offense early in this non-Title match; but he's clearly outclassed by Randy Savage who hands "The Assassin" a beating. Late in the match a weary Blackman attempts to mount a comeback with a barrage of kicks; but Randy Savage manages to connect with a knee to Steve's gut before putting him away for the three count with a vertical suplex.
Debbie Combs then joins him inside the ring with the belt and they celebrate until "Fire" by Scooter sounds. "Macho Man's" eyes bug out of his head and he looks toward the ramp;. From the back comes...Steve Corino?! Steve Corino says that he didn't get one of those segments like other people in this Tournament. That he was an after thought. An insect for Eric Bischoff to crush. That that was the plan. That Big Bad Doofus would swat Corino like a fly. But that didn't happen. That "The Saviour of Sea Isle City" prevailed. And he's issuing Savage and his lackey Bischoff a warning right here and now. That he intends to beat the odds again and again until he's the ECW Champion. That Steve Corino will make them notice. Prove he's got what it takes. That on December 1st at ECW Wrestle Annual; Steve Corino will prevail.
Lights Fade.

11/09/94 - Ritchie Coliseum College Park, MD"Mean" Gene Okerlund welcomes us to another action-packed episode of Eastern Championship Wrestling; coming to you live tonight from the Ritchie Coliseum in College Park, Maryland. He tehn introduces his co-host "The Genius" Lanny Poffo who informs us of how fitting it is that tonight at the Ritchie Coliseum; in our Main Event "Wildfire" Tommy Rich will be in action against "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Gene then explains this match will be the last of four Tournament Matches tonight. With the winners moving on to the Quarter-Finals which will take place on next week's program. The Tournament of course to determine the number one contender at ECW's first ever Pay Per View; the Wrestle Annual!
Okerlund then says we're about to see the Women's Champion "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore in non-Title action to start off the show. Lanny wonders if there will be any hair pulling involved as Beulah McGillicutty makes with the intoductions.Match: Jacqueline Moore vs. Rockin' Robin Rockin' Robin puts up a good fight and nearly scores an upset victory when Jacqueline Moore whips her into the ropes and Robin surprises her with a sunset flip on the rebound. "Miss Texas" powers out just before the three however and battling back eventually hits Rockin' Robin with a bridged German Suplex which has Danny Davis delivering the three count.Gene welcome us back from the break and talks about the tremendous win we just witnessed for the Women's Champ. Poffo is upset by the lack of hair pulling and demands a recount. Okerlund tells him to shut up before they start talking about the Tournament and specifically Steve Corino. Both Lanny and Gene think Corino may be biting off more than he can chew when he called put ECW Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage on notice at the close of last week's show. Lanny is certain "The Macho Chump" won't take those comments lying down. They then talk about the competitors in the next bout; our first Tournament Match of the night.Match: KAMA vs. Brickhouse Brown KAMA is a much bigger man physically than Brickhouse Brown and he nearly takes Brown's head off early in the match with a barrage of punches. A veteran, Brickhouse is no slouch and after kicking out following a big boot and battling his way out of a rear chinlock; Brown rallies the fans behind him for a comeback. He tries unsuccesfully to pin KAMA after hitting a back body drop and the two men battle back and forth, neither the clear winner until Brickhouse Brown reverses a belly to belly suplex and nails a swinging neckbreaker. Hooking the leg he manages to keep the big man down until referee S.D. Jones hits the three. When Eastern Championship Wrestling returns we're taken backstage where Eric Bischoff is smuggly strolling by. Out of nowhere "Maniac" Matt Borne appears. He tells Eric he has a problem. A rather big problem. That two weeks ago that big stupid Canuck; "Iron" Mike Sharpe cost him his damned Tournament Match. Because of that moose hugger "The Maniac" won't have a Title shot December 1st. Matt Borne won't get his shot to become ECW Champion. And he wants to make Sharpe pay. Bischoff shrinks back from "Maniac" Matt. He tells him to calm down. That it's already been taken care of. That Eric has already had a talk with "Canada's Greatest Athlete" about it and Mike Sharpe is itching for some payback of his own because Borne abandoned him during their Tag-Team Match earlier in the month. Eric says he doesn't care if the two of them knock one another's head off. He's not getting in the middle of it. Which is why he scheduled a match to settle things between the two. For later tonight. Borne seems very pleased with this.
We're then taken back to ringside where Lanny and Gene are talking about the Tournament to determine the number one contender for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship. They remind us that the final round will take place at ECW's Wrestle Annual and how on the same night the winner will go on to face ECW Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Lanny expresses surprise that Brickhouse Brown has made it this far in the competition; being the first to win his Semi-Final Round here tonight. They then discuss the next Tournament matchup which will take place in a few moments.Match: Devon Hughes vs. Chris Jericho Devon Hughes locks up with Chris Jericho as Danny Davis starts the match. Jericho makes with a quick go behind and rolls Hughes up; looking to end things early. Though caught offguard, Devon isn't having it and kicks out at two. Both men quickly scramble to their feet and Chris begins wailing on Devon. He gets several good hits in before Devon catches him by the hand and shakes a disapproving finger at him before belting him across the face. Hughes pounds Chris across the ring into the ropes and Irish whips him across the ring; on the rebound nailing "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Hughes makes the cover getting a two count of his own. Lifting Jericho to his feet by his hair Devon hits him with several knees to the face and chest before shouting "Testify!" as he lifts him into the air for a delayed suplex. Chris however escapes; leaping down to his feet. Running toward the ropes before Hughes can react; Jericho uses the momentum to hit a bulldog! Quickly he heads back toward the ropes looking for a springboard moonsault. Instead he finds Devon's knees in his gut. Chris Jericho rolls on the floor in pain as Devon gets back to his feet and stomps him before pulling him up and nails him with a lifting side slam! 1!...2!...Jericho just kicks out! 3! Keeping on top of his opponent Devon begins hammering Jericho's head and back; but Chris pushes him away. He hits an uppercut which stuns Hughes which he follows up with a dropkick that sends his opponent crashing to the mat. Lifting Devon up to his feet Jericho runs him face first into the turnbuckle before running across the ring and sprinting back nails Hughes with a running back elbow. He then grabs Devon for a bulldog; but Devon grabs hold of the "Loud-Mouth" and counters with an atomic drop! Chris stumbles forward before falling face first into the canvas. Grabbing Jericho by an arm and leg, Devon drags his limp body to the center of the ring. Devon signals for his Flying Headbutt as he begins climbing up top! He turns and is surprised to see Jericho back up on his feet as he rushes at Devon and jumping up to the second rope; leaps again and nails Devon with a step-up enziguiri kick! Devon falls down to the mat as Chris Jericho perches himself on the top turnbuckle. He begins slapping his elbow! He leaps off the top and nails Devon Hughes with a flying elbow drop! 1...2...3! It's over! Did Randy Savage just see that?"White Train" by Tito & Tarantula is playing and Eric Bischoff is in the middle of the ring when ECW returns to air. He says that when his critics first heard he was taking over Eastern Championship Wrestling most guaranteed it'd fail within a few months. That most people had their doubts he'd be able to keep it going; but here they are nearly one year later gearing up for their first Pay Per View. With two shows being broadcast simultaneously. With T-shirts, action figures, a video game on the way. And of course selling out nearly every arena they appear at.
Now Eric Bischoff isn't one to brag. As usual he's all business here tonight. And tonight he wants to discuss ECW's first Pay Per View; the ECW Wrestle Annual! Tonight he has a couple announcements to make regarding the Event. First off; Eric has procured a special announcer for the Event; Late Night's own Conan O'Brien! Secondly we already know that the ECW Heavyweight Championship and the Tag-Team Titles will be defended on December 1st. But tonight Bischoff is announcing that the Women's Title will also be on the line. With Champion "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore's opponent to be determined next week in a 10-Woman Battle Royal! To add to that; the Eastern States Championship will be on the line. As for "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam's opponent? Well he's had alot of people asking for that slot in the back. And he's given it alot of thought. And he's decided on an opponent he knows the fans want to see. A rematch of epic proportions. When Rob Van Dam faces "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg in the Steel Cage! He then says that more matches will soon be announced; but that's all he has for us tonight. He thanks all the fans for their support of him and Eastern Championship Wrestling.
Mean Gene and Lanny discuss Bischoff's huge announcements regarding ECW's Wrestle Annual. They then talk about the nex match involving number one contenders for the Eastern Tag-Team Titles The New Orient Express who will be battling the grisled old Tag-Team of Deep South here tonight.Tag-Team Match: Deep South vs. The New Orient Express It's a hard fought battle on both sides with "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch nearly putting Taka Michinoku away with a sleeper hold until Mr. Fuji sneaks in and cracks Murdoch over the head with his cane while referee S.D. Jones is busy reprimanding Yoshihiro Tajiri for illegally entering. In the end however it is "The Japanese Buzzsaw" who puts Junkyard Dog down for the count following a surprise superkick to the jaw when Tajiri dodges a headbutt."Pomp and Circumstance" hits as "Macho Man" Randy Savage emerges from the back with the Eastern Heavyweight Title around his waist. Debbie Combs follows him to the ring. Once inside Savage tells us how he can feel the hunger in the air. The desire to be the man. To take what's rightfully belongs to "The Macho Man" Randy Savage. What's he referring too? The Eastern Havyweight Championship of course. Yeah. And he likes it. He wants them to want it. Because whoever wins, whether it's Tommy Bitch or "The Enforcer." Or is it's that Loud-Mouth kid Jericho or that punk kid Corino who's already got an ass whoopin' comin' dig. Randy Savage don't care. Cause where it's "The Ravishing One" himself or that goof Garvin. Dig it. It's just gonna make the victory; that count of three even sweeter; when "The Macho Man's" hand is held high on December 1st. Oooh Yeah!
Okerlund and Poffo then discuss "Macho Man" Randy Savage's Title run thus far since his winning the Eastern Heavyweight Championship back on December 29th, 1994. They recap his big wins against everyone who has come after the Title so far including "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "Maniac" Matt Borne, "Ravishing" Rick Rude; and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango. Lanny predicts that Savage will drop the Title at Wrestl Annual and Gene is sure that opinion isn't with more than a little personal bias. They then discuss the two competitors in our next Tournament bout; in which "Mr. Wedneday Night" Rob Van Dam will face "Ravishing" Rick Rude. Okerlund says that both men are big stars here at Eastern Championship and the only thing for sure in this match is that the fans of one particular man will be leaving the arena unhappy here tonight.Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Rick Rude Danny Davis calls for the bell as Rob Van Dam and Rick Rude lock up in a contest for strength. Rude seems on the verge of winning it when Van Dam trips Rude up with a drop toe hold. As Rude stumbles forward RVD catches him from behind in a headlock. Rick struggles a bit but frees himself with several back elbows before whipping RVD across the ring and takes him down with a lariat. Back on his feet first Rude puts the boots to "Mr. Wedneday Night" before lifting him to his feet and punding his head and back. He looks to be setting Rob up for a powerbomb when Rob smacks Rude away and runs back into the ropes to build up some momentum. On the rebound "The Ravishing One" attempts to counter with a back body drop; but the lightning quick Van Dam tumbles over Rude and hits a suplex which he bridges for a two count. Rick seems dazed as he rolls out of the ring to catch his breath on the outside. RVD however is once again running back into the ropes and comes charging back with a baseball slide which sends Rude into the guardrails and Van Dam himself spilling out to the floor. Davis restarts the 10 count as Rob gets up and kicks the still recovering Rude who catches the leg of "Mr. Wednesday Night" before sluggin him in the face with a hard right. Rick continues hammering on Rob before he Irish whips him into the steel steps! Van Dam takes a bad tumble through them as Rick climbs the apron and reenters the ring while Danny counts to seven on the inside. Rob is staggering back on his feet and climbs up the apron. Rude isn't having it however and attempts to stop RVD only to fall victim to a hairpull hangman. As Rick bounces backward into the ring, Rob leaps up onto the apron, then the top rope; and proceeds to hit "Ravishing" with a double leg drop from the outside! He makes the cover! 1...2.. Rude kicks out! Rude however is still down and out and Van Dam gets back to his feet and hits the ropes for the Rolling Thunder! Rude gets his knees up! And Van Dam writhes on the floor in pain as Rick Rude gets back up to one knee. Back on his feet Rude stomps RVD's legs a bit before grabbing his left leg and hits a kneedrop on it. He then shakes his head to the crowd; more than half of whom are booing him; as he locks in the figure four! Van Dam screams in pain as Rick punishes him in the hold. RVD refuses to surrender however and manages to flip onto his back and kick Rude off of him. Undaunted Rude continues the assault by lifting rob to his knees as he hammers on his head. Van Dam however sweeps Rick's legs from underneath him sending him down hard to the canvas. Rob is back on his feet hobbling on the leg Rude injured and as Rick gets to his feet RVD nails him with several kicks before hitting a spinning heel kick that plants Rude to the mat. He makes the cover. 1...2... Rude kicks out! RVD rolls over in frustration and pounds the mat before hopping over to the corner and painfully climbing the turnbuckle. He gets up top and points to his shoulders as the crowd comes alivewith a "Rob... Van...Dam!" chant. Van Dam goes airborne with the 5 Star Frog Splash! But Rude is back up on his feet?! Rick Rude catches Van Dam in mid-air and slams him into the mat!! He hooks the leg as Davis makes the count! 1...2... Van Dam kicks out! Rude pulls at his hair in frustration as he gets to his feet and delivers a kneedrop to Rob's back. He then locks in the Sharpshooter! RVD screams in pain but refuses to tap! He fights his way to the bottom rope and Davis breaks the hold. A frustrated Rude angrily stomps at Van Dam. He then pulls him away from the ropes and looks to be setting up the Rude Awakening; but RVD counters with a monkey flip! Rude crashes down to the mat but pops back up as a still hobbling Van Dam rockets across the ring toward him. He moves and Rob crashes into the corner! As Rob stumbles backward in a daze Rick Rude steps in and spins Rob Van Dam toward him as he hoists him into the air and nails a back to belly piledriver! He makes the cover and gets the pin.Mean Gene welcomes us back and thanks us for joining them here tonight. He tells us that next week Eastern Championship Wrestling will be coming to us live from the Delaware Field House in Newark, Delaware or for those folks at home; right here on ECW's home station of TNN The Nashville Network. He and Lanny then talk about the feud that's been brewing between "Maniac" Matt Borne and Canada's Greatest Athlete "Iron" Mike Sharpe over th past several weeks. They recap Borne's breaking Sharpe's Canadian Flag over his knee, "Iron" Mike costing Borne his Tournament Match by interrupting with the Canadian National Anthem; to the two men's distaste for one another in general.Match: Matt Borne vs. Mike Sharpe S.D. Jones has trouble keeping things clean in this all-out brawl between the two big men. Many power moves and dirty tricks are traded between Matt Borne and Mike Sharpe before it looks like "Maniac" has won it when he hoists Sharpe up into the air and powerbombs him on the top turnbuckle. Canada's Greatest Athlete stuns the crowd however when he becomes the first man to kick out of the move just under the three. Borne keeps on top of him; but Mike Sharpe begins no-selling the Maniac's moves. After wearing Matt down with an unsuccessful submission attempt via a bearhug; Mike Sharpe ends up taking a winded Matt Borne's head off with his signature running forearm smash. Sharpe celebrates after the match waving the Canadian Flag victoriously toward the crowd while a stunned Borne recovers in the ring. After the break Mean Gene and Lanny dicuss how impressive Mike Sharpe was in the ring tonight before turning their attention to tonight's Main Event in which "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson will meet "Wildfire" Tommy Rich. This will be the final Match in the Semi-Final Round to determine the number one contender for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship at ECW's Wrest Annual. They mention the men who've qualified thus far: Steve Corino, Rhino, Buck Zumhoff, Ronnie Garvin, Brickhouse Brown, Chris Jericho; and Rick Rude. Together with the winner of tonight's Main Event; all eight men will compete in the Quarter Final Round which will take place here on next week's show. The exact match-ups have yet to be determined. Beulah then makes with the intros.Main Event: Arn Anderson vs. Tommy Rich When Arn Anderson goes to lock up with Tommy Rich, Rich backhands him. "The Enforcer" looks pissed and grabbing the offending arm locks in an arm wrench. Rich squeals in pain but doesn't surrender; making it over to the ropes where Davis has Arn release the hold. Anderson doesn't back off of "Wildfire" however and clubbing him against the ropes whips him across the ring. He ducks to quick however for a back body drop and Tommy catches AA with a kick to the chops. Rich gets a couple free shots in as Arn reels back; but soon the two men are going punch for punch in the middle of the ring with "Wildfire" seemingly getting the worse of it. Grabbing Rich by the head, "The Enforcer" busts his face over his knee and takes his stumbling opponent by the hand and Irish whips him into the corner where he stomps a mudhole in him. Tommy isn't just about to lay down however and when ol' AA lifts him up onto the top turnbuckle; Rich rakes his eyes before hitting Arn with a bionic elbow that sends him sprawling onto his ass. Jumping from the top turnbuckle Tommy hits Arn with a diving elbow drop as he attempts to get to his feet and making the cover Rich just squeaks out a two count. Keeping on Arn, Tommy locks in the sleeper hold; keeping his opponent grounded. Arn however while fading isn't giving up and gets to all fours before fighting his way up to his feet and proceeds to jump onto his back squashing Rich. Anderson then makes the cover but only gets the two from Jones. Back on his feet first, Arn delivers a knee drop to Rich followed by another. Quickly he lifts Rich to his feet; but "Wildfire" rolls him up! 1!...2!... Arn kicks out. Both men are quick to get back to their feet, but Rich is a bit quicker and catches Arn in a front facelock as the two men brawl about the ring. Finally having taken enough punishment; AA lets Rich have it with a sitout jawbreaker over the top of his head. Tommy Rich stays on his feet but looks like he's somewhere else as Arn Anderson scoops him up and brains him with The Gourdbuster. Making the cover he picks up the win. Jones holds Arn's hand up in victory before "The Enforcer" exits the ring. Just then there's a disturbance in the ring! Arn turns to see Jerry Lawler and Brian Lawler swoop in on the recovering Tommy Rich!"Wildfire" attempts to make an escape; but Jerry catches him by his tights and pulls him into the ring as Rich throws Arn Anderson a pleading look. Arn just shrugs before heading up the ramp.
Meanwhile inside the ring Brian Lawler is holding Tommy Rich in place with a full nelson. Jerry Lawler says that he knows Tommy thinks it's funny how he eliminated both him and his son from the Heavyweight Title Tournament. That Rich thinks he's in the right coming here to Eastern Championship to settle some perceived personal injury he suffered from "The King." But if Rich remembers rightly; it was Jerry himself whose damned head got shaved! And it's a favor he's always dreamt of returning. Just then Tommy Rich's eyes bug out of his head as Jerry produces a pare of barber's sheers! Rich begs for Jerry to stop as he begins cutting Rich's hair off!
Just then the man we've seen previously in the motorcycle helmet emerges from the crowd! He's still wearing the mask and is carrying a bat. He storms the ring and smacks Jerry Lawler with it from behind! "The King" drops the sheers while Brian Lawler drops Tommy Rich and the duo flee the ring to escape the masked man. Tommy Rich yells at The Lawlers while his associate inspects his butchered head.
Lights Fade.

11/16/94 - Delaware Field House Newark, DE"Mean" Gene Okerlund welcomes us to another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling; tonight coming to us live from the Delaware Field House in Newark Delware. He then introduces us to his broadcast partner "The Genius" Lanny Poffo. The two of them then inform us that tonight's show will feature the Quarter Final Rounds of the Tournament to determine the number one contender for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship going into ECW's first Pay Per View; the Wrestle Annual! In addition to these four matches featuring the likes of Rhino, Steve Corino, Chris Jericho, Ronnie Garvin, Brickhouse Brown, Buck Zumhoff, Arn Anderson; and Rick Rude; we will also see the Tag-Team Champs The Killer Bees in action as well. Okerlund says that the Women's Division isn't forgotten either as their will be a big 10 Women Battle Royal to determine who will face Women's Champ "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore at Wrestle Annual. Lanny says he's already forgotten about it. "Fucking Hostile" by Pantera then hits as Rhino storms the arena.McGillicutty: The following Tournament Quarter-Final Match is scheduled for one fall with the winner moving on to the Semi-Final Round. Introducing first from Detroit, Michigan weighing in at 270 lbs.; he is "The Man-Beast" Rhino!
Rhino paces about the ring as referee S.D. Jones looks on. "Fire" by Scooter then sounds.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent this evening from Sea Isle City, New Jersey weighing 242 lbs; "The Savior of Sea Isle City" Steve Corino!Match: Rhino vs. Steve Corino From the bell Rhino tears Steve Corino apart with a number of suplexes and power moves. Corino does his best to stay in the match but get little offense in. That changes when "The Man-Beast" gets Steve up on the ropes and goes for the Superplex. "The Savior of Sea Isle City" sends Rhino crashes back to the mat after an eye rake and delivers a bionic elbow drop from the top as his opponent stumbles back to his feet. From there Steve Corino keeps control of the match and catches Rhino in a front headlock as he goes for the DDT. Suddenly someone grabs his arm! Corino turns into a punch thrown by "The Macho Man" Randy Savage! and goes down hard.Savage stomps a mudhole in Corino as S.D. Jones calls for the bell; awarding the match to Steve Corino in spite of protests from a very pissed off Rhino. Rhino gets in Randy's face; but Savage whips the young grappler into the ropes and clotheslines him from the ring! He then calls for the mic which Beulah hands him.Randy Savage crouches over a dazed Corino who's lying on the floor. He tells Corino that he's nothing but a young punk. A young punk with a big mouth and an even bigger ego. Yeah. And that while he may have thought "The Macho Man" forgot him coming out and talking trash after his match the other week; well Randy has news for him; "Macho Man" never forgets. Dig it. He says that Corino can try to get the ECW Title all he wants; that all these bums in this Tournament can try; but the end result is bound to be the same. Randy Savage taking out the trash once again. Oooh yeah!Lanny and Gene discuss "Macho Man" Randy Savage's run-in during the first Tournament Match here tonight which resulted in a DQ win for Steve Corino over Rhino. He's sure Corino must be happy with this result; just as sure of that as he is that "The Man-Beast" Rhino must be livid. Poffo says that Gene is talking like Steve Corino planned this. Lanny scoffs that only a Genius such of himself could come up with such a strategy. And he assures us there're no one with an IQ higher than 85 from Jersey. Which is why you'll never see them successful in anything; especially on tv.
They then discuss the controversy surrounding the Tag-Team Champions; The Killer Bees; and how they basically stole the Titles at ECW's last Big Event; Hotter Than Hell back on September 21st. Lanny says that's a matter of personal opinion. Namely "Mean" Gene's personal opinion. Okerlund reminds us that The Killer Bees are set to defend the Tag-Team Championships at Wrestl Annual against former Tag-Team Champs The New Orient Express. An annoying buzzing is then heard as The Killer Bees appear on the ramp with the Titles over their shoulders.
McGillicutty: The following non-Title Tag Match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first at a combined weight of 457 lbs. they are the Eastern Tag-Team Champions The Killer Bees; B. Brian Blair and "Jumping" Jim Brunzell!
The Bees pose with their belts despite the booing crowd before handing them over to Danny Davis. "Everyday" by Buddy Holly then plays as Steven Richards and Steve Blackman head down the ramp wearing their Stevie # 1 and Stevie # 2 shirts.
McGillicutty: And introducing the opponents tonight weighing in at a combined weight of 261 lbs.; they are Steve Blackman and Steven Richards; The Stevies!Tag-Team Match: The Killer Bees vs. The Stevies The Stevies do alright against The Tag-Team Champs until The Killers Bees cut off the ring and trap Steven Richards in their corner. Steve Blackman attempts to help; but ends up getting Richards into more trouble allowing to Jim Brunzell and B. Brian Blair get in a few double team moves while the ref is distracted as they work Richards over. Finally Jim Brunzell locks in the figure four leglock and puts Steven Richards out of his misery. When we return from break; ECW President Eric Bischoff is strolling down the hallway when he's approached by an irritated "Maniac" Matt Borne. Borne tells him that that no-good Mooser Mater Mike Sharpe got lucky last week. That there's no way he's a better athlete, a better wrestler than Matt Borne. He demands Eric gives him a rematch immediately to prove this. Eric is about to say something when "Canada's Greatest Athlete" Mike Sharpe appears from the other direction carrying the Canadian flag.Mike Sharpe tells Bischoff that he's just angry because Borne is the typical fat and talentless American; which he proved last week when he handed him his ass. He says that "Maniac" should have felt honored to team with him; but he's nothing but an ingrate. And that if Matt is so hellbent on getting destroyed by him again; he's more than happy to oblige.
Eric Bischoff is sandwiched between the two big men and becoming more annoyed at the situation by the minute. He shoves them both back and tells them that as he said before; he doesn't care if the two of them kill one another; but he's growing tired of them both. He says he's been going over the roster and has some cuts to make soon. He says that if Mike Sharpe and Matt Borne would want a match; he'd be more than happy to give them a Loser Leaves Town Match as Wrestle Annual. It's be a win/win situation for both him and them. Because either way he wouldn't have to hear the two of them bicker anymore.
Borne and Sharpe seem to mull this over for a few seconds before Mike Sharpe says he's in and that he's sure his cousin Betty will be happy to have her husband Matt Borne off the road. "Maniac" Matt tells him he'd better not mention his wife again. That Sharpe had better go get a head start because he's going to kick his ass back to Canada.
We're then brought back to ringside where Okerlund says he wishes both men luck. That while he's had his differences with them in the past; he hates to see anyone lose their jobs. Lanny says that he's rooting for Matt Borne because the other guy is from Canada and a liar to boot. Borne's wife is only his second cousin. The two men then talk about our second Tournament battle of the night which should prove to be a brutal bout as longtime rivals Chris Jericho and Ronnie Garvin are set for to compete. "Thunderkiss '65" by Rob Zombie plays as Chris Jericho heads down the ramp to where referee S.D. Jones is waiting.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall; with the winner moving on to the Semi-Final Round. Introducing first making his way from Manhasset, New York weighing 226 lbs.; he is "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho!
Jericho swaggwea around the ring before Ronnie Garvin comes down the ramp with his towel draped over his neck.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent this evening weighing 231 lbs. from Montreal, Quebec, Canada; he is "The Rugged One" Ronnie Garvin!Match: Chris Jericho vs. Ronnie Garvin Garvin climbs into the ring and Chris Jericho doesn't even wait for the bell, charging Garvin. He hits Ronnie with a few punches before while still on the apron "Rugged" grabs his opponent by the hair and hits a hairpull hangman. Chris clutches his throat as he falls back into the ring. Climbing back up onto the apron Ronnie climbs the turnbuckle and going up top jumps down on top of Jericho with a diving stomp to the chest. Picking up his opponent from the floor Ronnie begins chopping "The Loud-Mouth" about the ring and whips Jericho; but Chris reverses and sends Garvin into the ropes instead! On his return Ronnie is met with a jumping corkscrew roundhouse kick to the chops. Both men are down but Jericho stumbles to his feet first and grabbing Ronnie locks him in an armbar. "The Rugged One" screams in pain and beats the mat but doesn't surrender. Instead he manages to get to his feet and put Chris in a pinning predicament! Chris keeps him in the armbar; but is forced to release it when he rolls out at two. Bot men back on their feet they charge one another, with Jericho taking Garvin down to the mat again with a clothesline. He makes the cover but barely gets a two. Waiting for Ronnie as he gets to his knees; "The Loud-Mouth" pounces locking him in a rear chinlock! Garvin fights it and stumbling to his feet tosses Chris over his shoulders and down to the mat. Stretching his neck of a few seconds Ronnie hits several knee drops on Jericho's shoulder before applying an armwrench and then hitting the same arm with a legdrop. Jericho howls in pain as Ronnie continues to work his arm over with another wrench. Referee Jones is asking Chris if he wants to tap; but Jericho shakes his head as he battles his way back to his feet. "Rugged" Ronnie isn't letting up though and torques the wrench until Chris begins battling back with several random punches. Losing his grip, Ronnie falls victim to several blows from Jericho before the two men begin going punch for punch in the middle of the ring; neither getting the clear advantage until "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" kicks Garvin in the gut. And hits him with a powerbomb! 1!....2!....... Garvin kicks out! The count was a little slow and Jericho begins arguing with S.D. Jones giving Ronnie enough time to get to his feet. From behind he hoists Chris up into the air on his shoulders before nailing Jericho with an electric chair drop! Jericho hits the ground face first and Ronnie rolls him over for the cover. 1...2... Chris kicks out! 3! Ronnie looks mad as he gets up and stomps Jericho on the head. He lifts Chris to his feet and begins hammering on "The Loud-Mouth's" back before Jericho breaks free with an uppercut that staggers his opponent and then drops Garvin to the floor with a standing dropkick. Jericho's fans come alive as he looks toward the ropes and running at them hits the for a springboard moonsault! But Garvin has his legs up and hammers them home into Chris' ribcage. Jericho roles about the ring as Ronnie Garvin gets to his feet and catching the downed Chris Jericho locks him in the sharpshooter! Jericho screams in pain and vainly reaches for the ropes before finally tapping out; giving Ronnie Garvin the win via Submission. Back from the break "Mean Gene" Okerlund introduces us to Tommy Watanabe who is in charge of the Women's Division over at American Championship Wrestling. Okerlund says that Eric Bischoff arranged for two women from ACW to compete in tonight's Battle Royal here at Eastern Championship. The winner of this match going on to face ECW Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore at ECW's first PPV the Wrestle Annual. Lanny just hopes that the two women are hot and Watanabe chokes a bit on his diet soda. He then tells us about the two women scheduled to compete in tonight's 10 Woman Battle Royal; Aja Kong and Bull Nakano.
All ten women then enter the ring. Lanny's jaw drops when he sees the two women. Okerlund laughs and tells Poffo he's sorry he's been let down. They're both then surprised to see Beulah McGillicutty is in the ring. She hasn't been seen in competition since December '93 in a similar Match.10 Women # 1 Contender Battle Royal Referee Danny Davis has his hands full when he starts the match and an all out brawl erupts. The two big women from ACW seem to have formed a pact from the beginning as Bull Nakano and Aja Kong team up to batter Tiffany into a corner and grabbing her by the hands and the feet toss her over the top rope. Rockin' Robin is out next as she falls victim to an arm drag from the second rope courtesy of Takako Inoue; that sends her tumbling over the top rope to the floor below. Beulah McGillicutty meanwhile is getting a beatdown from Velvet McIntyre who is taunting the young announcer. McGillicutty however soon surprises both McIntyre and the crowd when she catches her overconfident attacker with an uppercut and follows through with a clothesline that sends Velvet out of the ring; eliminating her. Next Leilani Kai is handed her walking papers as the double team of Nakano and Kong continues when they double suplex "The Hawaiian Princess" over the top. Moments later Debbie Combs suffers a powerbomb to the floor by "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon who growls victoriusly after the feat. Things are looking bad once again for Beulah when the women of ACW begins wailing on her up against the ropes. Aja Kong has however made a mistake and getting too close to the ropes finds herself the victim of a dropkick from Takako Inoue; who gets an assist from McGillicutty who pulls down the top rope allowing Kong to plummet out of the ring to the floor below. She's pissed and begins screaming as referee S.D. Jones on the outside tries to convince her to return to the back. In the ring Beulah and Inoue high five one another as a new partnership is quickly formed. The challengers are down to four as Bull Nakano begins slugging it out with the much weaker pair of Beulah McGillicutty and Takako Inoue. That is until Luna Vachon comes in from behind and nails big Nakano with a snap suplex. This seems to have hurt "Mad Dog" a bit as Luna clutches her back. Taking full advantage together Beulah and Takako grab Vachon and run her out of the ring tossing her over the top. Takako Inoue however is soon in for a surprise when McGillicutty grabs her behind from behind and dumps her out of the ring before she has a chance to know what happened! Inoue is pissed on the outside and glares at Beulah who's been left alone in the ring with Bull Nakano. Beulah shrugs when Takako smiles devilishly at her from the floor. Bull Nakano is back up on her feet and charges Beulah! Just before she is broken in half with a striking spear however Beulah McGillicutty moves out of harm's way and Nakano's own momentum and bulk works against her as she hits the ropes and spills out to the floor. Beulah McGillicutty has won it?! Out by ringside Lanny Poffo jumps out of his seat and cheers. Beulah is hot after all. Meanwhile Watanabe shakes his head in disgust.Returning from break "Mean" Gene apologizes for Lanny's "little outburst" before the break. Poffo tells him to stuff it. They then remind us that next week Eastern Championship Wrestling will be coming to us live from the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey or right here on ECW's home station of TNN The Nashville Network for those folks viewing from home. Next week will feature the Semi-Final rounds of the Tournament to determine the number one contender at the ECW Wrestle Annual PPV Event; narrowing the particpants down to the final two. Those two men will go on to face one another at Wrestle Annual sometime prior to the Main Event. Okerlund then expresses surprise that ring announcer Beulah McGillicutty won the 10 Women Battle Royal; though she was the last woman eliminated back on December 22nd, 1993 when the first ever Eastern Women's Champion was crowned during the same type of match. Regardless she will be facing the Women's Champion "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore at Wrestle Annual and Gene wishes her his best. "Fight the Power" by The Isley Brothers then plays as Brickhouse Brown heads out from the back.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Quarter Final Match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Wilmington, Delaware weighing 270 lbs. he is "The Man of the Hour" Brickhouse Brown!
Brickhouse gets into the ring and shakes hands with referee S.D. Jones before "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by The Scorpions hits and Buck Zumhoff boogies his way out with his boom box on his shoulder.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent on his way to the ring from Hamburg, Minnesota weighing in at 270 lbs.; the "Rock 'N Roller" himself Buck Zumhoff!Match: Brickhouse Brown vs. Buck Zumhoff Brickhouse Brown and Buck Zumhoff put on a solid match with several nearfalls. The fans really like Buck and they rally behind him as he takes over the match for several minutes until he makes the mistake of ducking too early for a back body drop and Brickhouse Brown lets him have it with the swinging neckbreaker for the three count. After the match "Tito & Tarantula" hits as Eric Bischoff smugly makes his way down to the ring. To start things off he congratulates the winners in the Tournament so far tonight; Brickhouse Brown and Ronnie Garvin. The fans start a Corino chant; but he tells them that the only place anyone would consider Steve Corino a winner is New Jersey. He then says as usual he is all business though and if the fans want Steve Corino to continue in the Tournament he will. But Eric will be happy when he watches "The Savior of Sea Isle City's" hopes and dreams shattered next week. He then says of course seeing Eric Bischoff out in the ring means that there is business to be had. And tonight's business would be? Why the second VHS release in ECW history of course. Tonight he's here to promote ECW's Greatest Hits volume 2! He then runs off the match listing and tells us that we can pick up the video at finer stores such as Wal-Mart, Caldor; or music/video specialty stores like The Wall. Not to mention calling 1-800-BUYECW to buy it direct. The Match listing is:
1/5/94 10 Man ECW Title # 1 Contender's Battle Royal (Arn Anderson becomes #1 Contender!)
1/5/94 Tag-Team Championship 4 Team Elimination Match: The New Orient Express vs. The Killer Bees vs. The Lawlers vs. Deep South (Birth of the Eastern Tag-Team Championship!)
1/12/94 "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Arn Anderson (Savage's 1st ECW Title Defense!)
1/19/94 Doug Williams vs. The Blitzkrieg vs. S.D. Jones vs. Blue Demon Jr. (1st Fatal 4-Way!)
1/19/94 "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. "Maniac" Matt Borne!
1/26/94 "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore vs. Debbie Comnbs (for the Women's Title!)
2/2/94 "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff vs. The Blitzkrieg (Is Zumhoff insane?!)
2/2/94 Randy Savage & Debbie Combs vs. Arn Anderson & Miss Elizabeth!Mean Gene says Eric Bischoff is nothing more than a shill; but he's looking forward to the new ECW tape himself. So Lanny calls Okerlund a shill. Gene then tells Lanny Doink the Clown is set to compete next and Poffo tells him he's now aware why they call him "Mean."
"Thunderkiss '65" by White Zombie then sounds as Big Bad John heads down to the ring.
McGillicutty: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Venice Beach, California weighing 321 lbs.; Big Bad John!
Once John is inside the ring Circus music plays as Doink the Clown appears on the ramp with his pet monkey Isabella! The kids go nuts.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent at this time weighing 243 lbs. and rejected from the Barnum & Bailey's Circus; he is Doink the Clown!Match: Big Bad John vs. Doink the Clown Danny Davis officiates this bloodbath in which Doink the Clown gets in some good offense early on; but ends up on the receiving end of several punches and elbows from the much larger Big Bad John who takes control of the match. He hits Doink with several power moves including a powerslam before going for the pin. Doink foolishly kicks out at two which only makes John madder as lifts him up and manhandles the Clown for a bit before taking him out for good with a Gorilla Press Slam.Lanny and Gene welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening and thank us for tuning in. They then discuss the next two competitors and their various attempts at gaining the Eastern Heavyweight Championship over the past year. Neither of these men want to lose here tonight and it's going to be one hell of a fight for sure. They remind us that so far in the Tournament "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson has eliminated "Wildfire" Tommy Rich and Jerry "The King" Lawler. "Ravishing" Rick Rude has been no slouch either taking out both Steven Richards and the Eastern States Champion "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam. One thing is for sure Okerlund tells us and that one thing is that neither of these men thought they'd be eliminated in the Quarter Finals; but in this next match one of them definitely will be.
McGillicutty: The final Quarter Final Match is scheduled for one fall. Making his way to the ring first from Rome, Georgia weighing 255 lbs.; he is "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson! Anderson enters the ring and shakes hands with S.D. Jones. Rick Rude's strip theme then plays as Rick comes down in his robe. In the middle of the ring he gives the ladies a little show while removing it.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent tonight weighing 251 lbs. from Robbinsdale, Minnesota he is "The Ravishing One" Rick Rude!Main Event: Arn Anderson vs. Rick Rude At the start of the match Arn Anderson extends his hand to Rick Rude and after a few tense seconds he shakes it. The two men then lock up as S.D. Jones calls for the bell. Arn clearly is winning a contest of strength when Rude circles behind him and nails Anderson with a suplex. Not letting "The Enforcer" go; Rick hits him with another before making the pin. AA kicks out before the two but Rude is right on top of him punching him in the face before hitting a kneedrop to Arn's chest. Anderson looks out of it as Rick pulls him to his feet; but he's in for a surprise when Arn grabs him by the head and connects with a headbutt. Rude stumbles backward giving Arn some room to breath. Collecting himself he chops "The Ravishing One" across the chest. He hits him again and again driving him back into the ropes and then Irish whips him across the ring connecting with a leaping shoulderblock on the rebound. Grabbing Rude up by the head Anderson catches Rick in a front headlock and begins working over his neck. Rude begins to struggle to free himself and eventually manages to battle out with an elbow to the gut. Rick then nails "The Enforcer" with a punch to the face. Arn fires back and the two men begin battling in the center of the ring. Getting the drop on Arn, Rude sets up for the Rude Awakening; but Arn drops to his knees and catches Rick with a backslide! 1!...2!... Rude powers out. The two men scramble to their feet, but Rick Rude is up a second faster and takes Arn down to the mat with a clothesline. Keeping on top of him Rick gets rolled up by Anderson! 1!...2!.. Rude reverses it on Anderson! 1!...2!... Arn kicks out! Getting up on all fours Arn lunges on top of Rude and attempts to catch him in a full nelson; but Rick battles out and getting to his feet stomps at AA as he gets to one knee. Rick showers down punches on Arn Anderson as "The Enforcer" attempts to fend off the assault while getting in a few punches of his own. In desperation Arn grabs Rude whom he manages to hit with a jawbreaker dropping him like a sack of bricks. Grabbing Rude by the leg he traps him in the figure four! Rude howls in pain but is nowhere near the ropes. He's on the verge of tapping. But with a surge of strength Rude rolls over reversing the hold. It's Arn's turn in the hot seat and he grits his teeth in pain as he reaches for the bottom rope getting S.D. Jones to release the hold. It's obvious Rick Rude is still in pain when he stays down as AA uses the ropes to get back up to his feet. Stumbling toward "The Ravishing One;" Arn grabs his legs. He's going for the figure four again! Rick isn't having it this time however as he kicks The Enforcer" in the ass pushing him away from him. Quickly getting back to his feet Rude pounces on Arn hitting a two handed bulldog. Then lifting Arn back up to his feet Rude hits the DDT! 1...2....3! No wait. Arn's foot is up on the rope! Rude argues with Jones before going back to Arn and grabbing the ropes he begins stomping on him. Anderson manages to slide from the ring and attempts to catch his breath while Jones begins the count. Rick isn't going to let him get off that easy however and climbing out on the apron leaps at Arn; connecting with a knee to the back. He proceeds to grab Arn and smash his face into the apron before rolling AA back into the ring. Rude himself climbs back in as S.D. Jones stops the count at five. Rude is stalking his prey as Arn Anderson hobbles up to one knee. Rick Rude reaches for Arn Anderson but "The Enforcer" comes alive and taking Rude up into the air nails him with the Spinebuster! It's over! 1!...2!... Rude kicks free! 3! Arn is brooding as he grabs Rude by the hair and knees him in the face. Lifting him up into the air Anderson goes for the powerbomb; but Rude goes over him and hits a sunset flip! 1!...2!.... Arn's kicked out! Both men are now on one knee and eyeing the other up warily. Rude moves first and charges into Arn with a shoulderblock. Arn falls back in pain but manages to stop Rick as he catching him and hits him with the Gourdbuster! Rude flops over like a fish while Arn Anderson hooks his leg. 1!...2.....3! Arn's won it!
Lights Fade.

[/img] 11/23/94 - Brendan Byrne Arena East Rutherford, NJ"Mean" Gene Okerlund welcomes us to the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey for another edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! After introducing us to his broadcast partner "The Genius" Lanny Poffo they run down tonight's show focusing on the ongoing Tournament to determine the number on contender for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship at ECW Wrestle Annual on December 1st. They inform us that the two Tournament Semi-Final matches will take place tonight as "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin takes on "The Man of the Hour" Brickhouse Brown and in tonight's Main Event; "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson will face off against "The Saviour of Sea Isle City" Steve Corino. Also tonight we will see the ECW Tag-Team Champions The Killer Bees in action as well as the Women's Champ "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore. They send us to tonight's match.Beulah McGillicutty makes with the introductions.Match: Doink the Clown vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri Danny Davis officiates as Yohsihiro Tajiri makes short work of Doink the Clown; taking him down for the count with the Shining Wizard. Earlier in the match he nearly got himself disqualified by locking Doink in the Tarantula and "The Japanese Buzzsaw's" manager Mr. Fuji got to have some fun chasing the Clown's pet monkey Isabella up the ramp and into the back after threatening to strike it with his cane. After the match match we're taken backstage where Eric Bischoff is seen confronting former Tag-Team Champs Destruction Inc.; Rhino and Mongo Vyle. The ECW President screams at Rhino for failing him and when Vyle tries to defend his friend; Bischoff dismisses him telling Mongo it's none of his damned business. Once he begrudgingly leaves Eric tells Rhino that he failed him last week when he didn't eliminate Steve Corino from the Tournament like he ordered him to do. "The Man-Beast" says it wasn't his fault that Savage interfered during the match and got him DQed. Which is true; but Bischoff isn't hearing it and tells Rhino that he hopes he learns his lesson not to let his boss down in his Match tonight. Which is up next.Rhino is already in the ring when ECW returns from break. Okerlund is pissed at Eric Bischoff again. First for trying to rig a Tournament match to settle a personal vendetta at Steve Corino and then for blaming Rhino for failing him when it was clearly Randy Savage who threw his wait around and got Rhino disqualified last week. Lanny Poffo calls Gene naive and a sucker. He says that of course Bischoff isn't going to blame Savage; because he's the main man. The guy who brings in the green. "Ich tu der weh" then hits as The Blitzkrieg plods down to the ring led by his manager The Baron Von Raschke.Match: Rhino vs. The Blitzkrieg (Big Bad John) Rhino looks scared for a minute but shrugs it off and when The Blitzkrieg enters the ring; he charges across looking for The Gore striking spear. Instead he catches a big boot to the face from "Mangler's Monster" who proceeds to lift his opponent up and powerbombd him to the floor before making the cover. 1...2...Rhino kicks out! The crowd cheers this; but while "The Man-Beast" gets some offense in; it quickly becomes apparant he would've been better off staying down for the count as The Blitzkrieg tears him apart before putting him down with a chokeslam for the win. Referee S.D. Jones looks relieved to be hitting the three.
After the match The Blitzkrieg puts the boots to Rhino and Mongo Vyle rushes down to make the save!As he enters the ring though he gets tripped up by Baron Von Raschke who grabs his legs. Hearing the skirmish; The Blitzkrieg turns about and takes Vyle's head off with a monstrous clothesline. He then puts the boots to Mongo before Raschke calms him down and leads him from the ring. When Eastern Championship returns Okerlund is absolutely disgusted by what we just witnessed before the break while Lanny finds it amusing. He thinks Rhino got just what was coming to him. They then talk about The Killer Bees who won their Titles back on September 21st at Hotter Than Hell after B. Brian Blair smashed Taka Michinoku in the face with a fire extinguisher. They are set to defend those Titles against Michinoku and his tag-team partner in The New Orient Express; Yoshihiro Tajiri next week on Thursday December 1st at ECW's first ever Pay Per View Event; The Wrestle Annual.Tag-Team Match: Deep South vs. The Killer Bees The Killer Bees show up in their masks with the Titles around their waists. Deep South gives them a good back and forth match which has several nearfalls for each team. After B. Brian Blair is hit with a headbutt from Junkyard Dog followed by the Thump! scoop powerlam; it looks like Deep South has gotten one over on the Champs. Jim Brunzell however charges to the rescue; but is met halfway by Dick Murdoch whom he whips into Danny Davis; breaking the count. The Dog looks angry as he gets up to his feet only to be hit by a jumping leg lariat by "Jumping"Jim. Brunzell rolls Blair out of the ring a second before Davis comes back to his senses and sees both Brunzell and JYD laid out. Jim Brunzell "groggily wakes up" and covers Junkyard Dog to pick up the win. B. Brian Blair then re-enters the ring and the Champs celebrate before exiting the ring where they remove the masks. Murdoch and JYD are left in the ring furious and arguing with Danny Davis.
"Mean" Gene of course thinks the actions of the Tag-Team Champs are despicable while Poffo finds their use of Masked Confusion clever."Wild Eyed Southern Boy" by 38 Special then sounds as "Wildfire" Tommy Rich appears on the ramp with... "Wildfire" Tommy Rich?! After a second it's pretty obvious that the "Tommy Riches" are indeed Jerry and Brian Lawler. Jerry announces to the crowd that he is Tommy Rich; the most popular wreslter of 1981. He goes on to tell everyone about how he just can't stand that Jerry "The King" Lawler fella; that "The King just makes him so mad winning Championship after Championship and being successful in promotion after promotion while he's off jobbing for Ted Turner. Brian "Rich" tells Jerry "Rich" not to talk about his good buddy Ted in such a way. That's he's had a mountain of success wrestling for dub cee dub. Hell he got some class and can now call himself Thomas Rich after all. And hell; he won a pretty belt all his own. Well not really his own. He does have to share it with one guy who's made a career ridin' Robbie Gibson's cottails and another guy who likes ta dress like a chicken; but at least he's staying relevant. Jerry reminds him that he also went and got his ass chased out of the NWA. But then tells "Thomas Rich" that none of that matters and tells us about how funny it was back when he shaved Jerry's head ten friggin' years ago and how he was the most popular wrestler of the year back in '81.
"Mean" Gene says that Jerry Lawler is every bit the coward he's trying to make Tommy Rich out to be and that the only reason he and his son Brian are being so vocal tonight is that they know Rich isn't here in New Jersey tonight. Lanny Poffo finds the Lawler's antics amusing of course and says that Tommy Rich's cousins do have a point. That he's been pretty worthless the last couple of years. Okerlund would like to see Lanny say that to Rich's face.
They then dscuss the next match which is a Tournament Semi-Final match to determine the number one contender at ECW's first Pay Per View; the Wrestle Annual. They recap both "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin and "The Man of the Hour" Brickhouse Brown's tournament wins so far; with emphasis on laster week's round in which Garvin defeated his hated rival "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho and Brickhouse Brown eliminated "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff.Match: Ronnie Garvin vs. Brickhouse Brown The two men feel one another out a bit before locking up with Ronnie Garvin driving Birckhouse Brown back into the ropes; forcing S.D. Jones to break them up. Garvin stalks Brown before the two competitors lock up once again with Garvin attempting to Irish whip Brown into the corner only to have it reversed. Ronnie slams into the turnbuckles and Brown lays into him with several punches; but "The Rugged One" moves in and schoolboys Brickhouse who kicks out before the one. Brown leaps back up but Ronnie catches him with a hard right hand and the two men begin brawling about the ring until "The Man of the Hour" catches Garvin in a side headlock. Ronnie struggles in the hold for a bit; eventually grabbing Brown and hits a back body drop. Following his opponent Garvin grabs Brown who is now up on one knee and begins hammering him in the face before lifting him for another Irish whip. On the rebound however Brown takes Garvin down with a dropkick before making the cover getting a near two. Lifting Ronnie up to one knee he hits him in the head several times before locking him in a rear chinlock. Garvin bites him! The ref however didn't see a thing and while Brown tends to his hand Ronnie drops him with a snapmare before hitting several knee drops on his opponent. He makes the cover getting a near two on Brown who knocks Ronnie off with an elbow to the head. Getting back up to the feet; the two men lock up again until Brickhouse catches "The Rugged One" in a front head lock and goes for the swinging nechbreaker! Garvin pushes out sending Brown into the ropes and when he turns it's into a running shoulder tackle from Garvin. Ronnie climbs on top of Brown and begins clubbing him with fists and elbows until Brickhouse grabs the bottom rope getting referee Jones to separate them. This gives Brickhouse enough time to get to his feet. His lip is busted open and he looks up just in time to see Ronnie Garvin come charging at him. He escapes with a back body drop hurling Ronnie over the top rope; but Garvin surprises him by landing on the apron feet first behind him! Grabbing Brown he turns him about and begins punching him. The two men go punch for punch until Garvin grabs Brickhouse by the head and heabutts him before leaping over him for a sunset flip! He gets a two count before Brown reverses it for a pinning predicament of his own. 1! 2!... Garvin kicks out! Brown stumbles a bit getting to his feet. Garvin is much faster and kicks him in the chops. As Brown reels back Garvin grabs him; but Brickhouse counters with a side Russian legsweep and goes for the pin. He gets a near three. Keeping on top of Ronnie he stomps him a bit before lifting "The Rugged One" to his feet and hammers his head and back. He pounds Garvin back across the ring before taking him down with a clothesline. Thing are looking bad for Ronnie as Brown makes the cover; but Garvin kicks out at two. Getting to his feet Brickhouse kicks at his opponent a bit before hitting him in the face with a fist drop. He then pulls Ronnie up and slings him into the ropes. On the return however Garvin catches Brown in the face with an elbow. He then grabs Brickhouse Brown and locks in an armwrench before taking him down with the cross armbreaker! Brown howls in pain and clutches for the ropes. Soon his grasping hand is tapping however as he gives up; giving Garvin the hard fought win."Mean" Gene reminds us that next week Eastern Championship Wrestling will be coming to us live from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey just one day before ECW's first PayPer View; the ECW Wrestle Annual which will take place at the Madison Square Garden Felt Forum in Manhattan New York. He goes on to remind us that while the show on November 30th will be accessible right here on TNN The Nashville Network; other than going to The Garden; the only way to witness the Wrestl Annual is to order it on PPV. So be sure to call your local cable provider to make sure you don't miss out.
He then congratulates "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin on his win here tonight. He says that Garvin now advances to the Tournament Final which will be decided at ECW's Wrestle Annual where he will face either "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson or "The Savior of Sea Isle City" Steve Corino to decide who will face ECW Heavyweight Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage later that same night in the Main Event. And speaking of Main Events; tonight we'll find out just who Ronnie Garvin will be facing at the Wrestle Annual when Arn Anderson locks horns with Steve Corino.
He and Lanny then go on to talk about how last week another number one contender's match was held; this one to determine who will face Women's Champion "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore at the PPV. The winner of that 10 Women Battle Royal Match in a strange turn of events being ECW's own ring announcer Beulah McGillicutty; who then makes with the intros for the next match which will see the Champ in action.Match: Jacqueline Moore vs. Rockin'Robin Rockin' Robin puts up a solid effort in this match officiated by Danny Davis. In the end however the Women's Champion Jacqueline Moore proves to much for her as "Miss Texas" puts her away with a float-over DDT. After the match Jacqueline Moore says that she wants to see Beulah McGillicutty's skinny Barbie doll ass inside the ring right now. With some hesitation Beulah climbs into the ring. Jacqueline tells her that it's good she's scared; because she doesn't understand what made her foolishly step into that ring last week. That Beulah is an announcer not a wrestler. And while she's bewildered how she went on to win that Battle Royal; that whether Jacqueline herself likes it or not; Beulah McGillicutty is now her opponent as ECW's first PPV; the Wrestl Annual. Moore says she's disappointed by this turn of events. That she was looking forwrd to having some real competition. Fighting "The Hawaiian" Princess Leilani Kai, "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs, Velvet McIntyre, Aja Kong, etc. The list goes on and on. But while she's disappointed Jacqueline warns Beulah that she should expect no mercy from her. Because on December 1st, one week from now at the Wrestle Annual; she's gonna take her out. Beulah McGillicutty apologizes to Jacqueline for her being disappointed. That she realizes she hasn't had much time in the ring this year. But that when she joined ECW it wasn't with the intention of being a mouthpiece. It was to be a wrestler. And she'd like to remind "Miss Texas" while she may not be the strongest or the most skilled athlete here; she has alot of heart. And that heart nearly made her the first ever Women's Champion back in December when she was the last person eliminated by Jacqueline herself. And more importantly here tonight it's what drove her on to win last week's Battle Royal for this shot at the Title. And that if "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore doesn't realize she'd better take her seriously next week at Wrestle Annual? Well then; there's only one fool in this ring.
Jacqueline shakes her head mockingly but it's obvious she's annoyed by Beulah when she pushes her down hard and begins putting the boots to her. Luckily for McGillicutty she has enough sense to roll out of the ring before we go to...Lanny and Gene welcome us back. They discuss the competitors in the next match; especially regarding "Maniac" Matt Borne's match against his former Tag-Team partner; Canada's Greatest Athlete "Iron" Mike Sharpe in a Loser Leaves Town Match at Wrestle Annual. Poffo says maybe we'll get lucky, the match will be a tie; and we'll be rid of them both. Okerlund isn't sure it would work that way. They also bring up Brian Lawler's mocking of "Wildfire" Tommy Rich with his father Jerry "The King" Lawler earlier in the evening and Gene says that Brian is just lucky Tommy isn't here tonight.Match: Brian Lawler vs. Matt Borne Brian Lawler is keeping up fairly well in a brawl with "The Maniac" Matt Borne; though Borne has the clear strength advantage. Almost ten minutes into the match Brian Lawler is out on the apron as he goes punch for punch with "Maniac"; getting the worst of it; when he grasps Borne by the head and surprises him with a hairpull hangman. Brian Lawler is obviously proud of himself as he taunts "The Maniac" from the outside when the crowd comes alive. And Tommy Rich leaps over the guardrail with his masked accomplice in tow! Not seeing them Brian catches a sucker punch to the jaw from Rich and goes down hard as the two men begin beating him down. Inside the ring it takes Matt Borne a second to realize what has happened and he doesn't seem to care; laughing and shrugging as he walks the away while referee S.D. Jones calls for the bell. Jones attempts to help Lawler but the masked man takes him down with a clothesline and stomps him a bit before...Jerry "The King" Lawler arrives on the scene! He interrupts Tommy Rich's beat down of his son and the two men start trading punches until the masked man tackles Lawler from behind and grabbing "The King" administers the clawhold! Meanwhile Matt Borne is loving the chaos and is laughing is ass off as he backs his way up the ramp. His fun is cut short however when "Iron" Mike Sharpe launches from the back and running down the ramp nails him hard from behind with a forearm smash! Borne folds like an accordian. Canada's Greatest Athlete isn't done however as he lift "Maniac" Matt's limp body up and nails him with a piledriver. Lawler seems out of it when Tommy Rich snatches the microphone out of Beulah's hands. He says that Lawler has always been an idiot. And tonight he proved it yet again by mocking the living legend, "Wildfire" Tommy Rich. But Rich and his associate aren't satisfied just kicking "The King" and his kins ass tonight. He says that he heard that December 1st he heard ol' Eastern Championship is having a little shindig. And well; he'd like to attend. In fact he wants Eric Bischoff to give him and his friend a match that night. Against his buddies The Lawlers.Gene welcomes us back from the final break of the evening. He then hypes tonight's Main Event which will be the final Tournament match on free tv; in which veteran "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson takes on relative rookie "The Savior of Sea Isle City" Steve Corino. Lanny says Corino against Anderson sounds more like a slaughter than a match. Okerlund reminds him that the two men have faced one another here at Eastern Championship before and that while Corino didn't leave with his hand raised in victory; he wasn't a total pushover either. They then recap both men's journey through the Tournament thus far; Steve looking particularly bad when you consider he got a "bye" in the first round, used a low blow to win the second; and won by disqualification in the third. Okerlund has to reluctantly agree with Lanny that there's certainly nothing to be impressed about when you look at it that way.Main Event: Arn Anderson vs. Steve Corino Danny Davis starts the match as the two men lock up and Steve Corino surprises when he takes Arn Anderos down with a snapmare. He then locks "The Enforcer" in a rear chinlock but Arn manages to get up to one knee and lets Corino have it; slamming the back of his head into "The Savior's" face. Corino stumbles back as Anderson gets to his feet and begins nailing his opponent with punch after punch. He drives Corino into the ropes and attempts to Irish whip him but Steve reverses it swinging Arn across the ring. On the rebound Anderson attempts to tackle Steve but he leapfrogs over AA and after Arn rebounds off the ropes again takes him down with a standing dropkick. Steve tries to make the cover but Anderson is already back up and Corino settles for elbowing "The Enforcer" in the back of the head. He begins hitting Arn in the head and back; but Anderson pushes him away and brings Corino down with a drop toe hold. With his foe down on the ground Arn locks in an ankle lock which as he gets to his feet he transitions to the figure four! Steve Corino screams in pain and luckily is close enough to the ropes to grab them causing Davis to break the hold. Back on his feet Anderson stomps Steve's legs as "The Savior of Sea Isle City" uses the ropes to regain his footing. Arn grabs Corino and chokes him up agains the ropes and Steve quickly rakes AA's eyes when he leans in too close. Arn staggers back as Steve Corino hits him with several chops driving him back across the ring. He then grabs Arn and whips him; but Anderson reverses it; sending Corino across the ring and on the rebound nails him hard with the Spinebuster! He makes the cover. 1! 2!... Corino gets his shoulder up! 3! Anderson doesn't let up and lifting his young opponent delivers several knees to his gut when Steve surprises "The Enforcer" with a swinging neckbreaker! Corino hooks the leg! 1!...2! Anderson kicks out! The two men crawl up onto their hands and knees before exchanging punches as they rise to their feet. Anderson is up first and begins raining down punches on Steve whom he drops with a massive forearm chop. With Corino down on the floor Arn Anderson begins stomping his legs before delivering a knee drop. Grabbing the same leg Arn once again lays in the figure four leglock! This time Steve is too far away from the ropes. He tries in vain to reverse it as he bellows in pain. Finally Steve Corino taps out; sending Arn Anderson on to the finals.
Lights Fade.
11/30/94 - Boardwalk Hall Atlantic City, NJMean Gene Okerlund welcomes us to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey before introducing us to his broadcast partner "The Genius" Lanny Poffo just one day before ECW's first ever Pay Per View Event; the Wrestle Annual! This Event will also mark the one year anniversary of Eastern Championship. He and Lanny then run down the card for tomorrow's big event!
"Iron" Mike Sharpe vs. "Maniac" Matt Borne in a Loser Leaves Town Match!
"Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore vs. Beulah McGillicutty for the Women's Title!
The Killer Bees vs. The New Orient Express for the Tag-Team TItles!
"Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam vs. "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg for the Easteren States Title!
"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin in a # 1 Contender's Match for the Eastern Heavyweight Title!
And in the Main Event "Macho Man" Randy Savage will face the winner of the # 1 Contender's Match for the Eastern Championship!
Lanny Poffo then mentions Tommy Rich's challenge to The Lawlers for a match at Wrestle Annual and Gene says that we should be hearing more about that including Eric Bischoff's decision tonight. But firstn we'll be seeing the # 1 Contender for the Women's Championship in her first Singles Match here at Eastern Championship. "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore's music then hits as she comes out with a microphone in hand and handles the intros. She then joins Gene and Lanny at ringside; saying she wants to see McGillicutty in action first hand to prepare herself for tomorrow's match.Match: Beulah McGillicutty vs. Tiffany Tiffany dominates early in the match, using La Cavernia to attempt to get Beulah McGillicutty to tap and nearly putting an end to things rather quickly when she hits her opponent with double underhook sitout facebuster. Tiffany looks frustrated when she lifts McGillicutty up to her feet after kicking out and is caught offguard with Beulah hits her with a DDT out of nowhere when she attempts to suplex her. Both when are down and McGillicutty manages to rally back getting some offence in and eventually hits Tiffany with a running bulldog. With her opponent down on the ground Beulah McGillicutty climbs up top looking for a moonsault. The crowd suddenly comes alive when Takako Inoue hops over the barricade, climbs into the ring and pulls Beulah down hard with an armdrag! Seeing this; referee S.D. Jones calls for the bell; declaring the match a No Contest. Beulah is dazed as she crawls up to her knees only to be hit hard by the Takako Panic diving knee strike. She drops down hard while Tiffany who's seeing what has transpired decides to roll out of the ring. Inoue begins putting the boots to Beulah. Mean Gene asks Jacqueline Moore why she isn't helping and "Miss Texas" says that she saw what happened between Inoue and McGillicutty at the Battle Royal; and that the little bitch deserves it. The beating goes on for several seconds when "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs appears on the ramp? She hesitates for a while; but eventually heads down to the ring where she nails Takako Inoue with a dropkick! She then clotheslines her out of the ring before checking on Beulah. When Eastern Championship comes back from break Mean Gene and Lanny discuss the ongoing feud between "Maniac" Matt Borne and "Iron Mike Sharpe which started with Borne abandoning Sharpe during a Tag-Team bout and will end one way or another at ECW Wrestle Annual when the two men face off in a Loser Leaves Town Match. Okerlund has gotten word that given the nature of this bout; both men have agreed with ECW President Eric Bischoff that it will be a No Disqualification match; which means anything goes.Match: Brickhouse Brown vs. Matt Borne Matt Borne is firing on all cylinders tonight and while Brickhouse Brown puts up a good fight; Borne pulls out every trick in the book (some of them nearly earning him a DQ by Danny Davis) and in the end "Maniac" Matt puts Brown away with his running powerbomb onto the corner turnbuckle.Back from break Rick Rude's strip theme music is playing. He's pacing about the ring microphone in hand and still has his robe on. Rick Rude says to cut the music and for the fans to shut up. He has something to say. He tells us that if there's one thing "The Ravishing One" isn't used to; it's being overlooked. In fact, looking as good as he does he gets tired of the the stares, the looks of sheer awe at times. But at Eastern Championship apparently Eric Bischoff didn't get the memo. You see tomorrow at this so-called Big Event; The Wrestle Annual; Rick Rude doesn't have a match. Not that he's surprised truth be told. Because back when the whole damned world was tuning in to Hotter Than Hell? Well "Ravishing" Rick didn't have a match that night either. So Rude can only figure that can only mean one thing. A lack of respect for the finest physical specimen in the world of wrestling today. And no he isn't talking about that Madusa broad. Though she is a sexy little tomato. He's talking about the main man; "Ravishing" Rick Rude. Now maybe that's been his fault. Maybe he hasn't been making much of an impact. But if that's the case. It ends here tonight.
"Another One Bites the Dust" hits as the Junkyard Dog appears on the ramp and barks at the fans while rattling his chain.Match: Junkyard Dog vs. Rick Rude S.D. Jones starts the match and though Junkyard Dog gives as good as he gets early on; after a knee to the gut and a sidewalk slam delivered to JYD; Rick Rude dominates the remainder of the match finally taking The Dog out for the three count with a spike piledriver.
After the match Rick Rude hops out of the ring and looks to be leaving when he eyes Junkyard Dog's chain. He grabs it and re-enters the ring. Jones tries to stop Rude; but he pushes the ref out of the way before approaching JYD who is getting to his feet. "The Ravishing One" let Junyard have it with the chain straight across is back. He continues to whip him several times before wrapping the chain around his fist and rolling The Dog over is about to slug him when..."Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch races from the back! He slides into the ring; but Rude sees him and lets him have it with a fist full of chains; knocking Murdoch out! Rick Rude smiles before dropping the chain on the unconscious Murdoch and leaves the ring to a chorus of boos. Lanny says that's certainly one way to make an impact while Okerlund is just disgusted.Mean Gene welcomes us back from break and reminds us that tomorrow night is the ECW Wrestle Annual! This event will be held at the Madison Square Garden Felt Forum in Manhattan, New York or for those folks without tickets; live on Pay Per View for the low price of $14.95. He goes on to tell us that Eastern Champion will return to free television next Wednesday on ECW's home station TNN The Nashville Network where they'll be coming to us live from the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. He then talks about the next match which will feature ECW Tag-Team Champions The Killer Bees in non-Title action against The Lawlers. He reminds us that The Killer Bees are set to defend their Titles tomorrow night against former Champs The New Orient Express. Lanny wonders if Tommy Rich and his masked accomplice will show up tonight and Gene thinks that they no doubt will.Tag-Team match: The Killer Bees vs. The Lawlers Danny Davis officiates and The Killer Bees have a good match against The Lawlers with little cheating from the Champs this time out. Jim Brunzell has just fallen victim to a back body drop courtesy of Brian Lawler who goes up top for the Tennesse Jam diving guillotine leg drop when "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" by 38 Special hits and Tommy Rich shows up from the back with the man in the motorcyle helmet in tow. This distracts Brian just enough to give "Jumping" Jim the time to get up to his feet, pick Brian Lawler up onto his shoulders and nail him with an electric chair drop for the win. Jerry Lawler turns back to the match just in time to see the three delivered and is fuming. He storms up the ramp after Rich and the masked man removes the helmet and smashes "The King's" head in with it! The two men put the boots to Jerry while the Tag Champs grab their belts and get out of dodge. Lanny notices the man is helmetless first and questions who it is until they come to the conclusion it's "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert!"White Train" by Tito & Tarantula then hits as Eric Bischoff shows emerges from the back along with "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, Scott Taylor, Ronnie Garvin; and several others. He orders Rich and Gilbert to stop their attack on Jerry as Brian Lawler heads up the ramp. Bischoff tells Brian to calm down too. He says that while he doesn't mind seeing them all beat the hell out of one another; last week a challenge was issued by Tommy Rich. That he and Doug Gilbert here want a match at Wrestle Annual against The Lawlers. Well as Eric himself likes to say; there's money to be made. So he'll grant the match and give Gilbert a temporary contract to compete if Lawler accepts. Brian has helped Jerry to his feet and he says of course he accepts. Cause tomorrow Rich and his loser buddy are going to get the snot knocked out of them. But he knows Tommy Rich is a coward so he wants the match under one condition. That it takes place in a Steel Cage! Rich looks a bit leery of this; but Eric is quick to grant the request.Mean Gene welcomes us back and he and Lanny recap Eric Bischoff's punishment of "The Man-Beast" Rhino on last week's show when he put him in a match against the monster known as The Blitzkrieg. They then talk about Mike Sharpe's feud with Matt Borne again; mentioning how on last week's show "Iron" Mike attacked Matt Borne following "The Maniac's" match with Brian Lawler.Match: Rhino vs. Mike Sharpe It's obvious from the moment S.D. Jones starts the match that Rhino is still feeling the beating he took at the hands of "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg last week. Rhino is slower than usual and stumbles a bit but keeps up with Canada's Greatest Athlete "Iron" Mike Sharpe for a while until Sharpe takes control; ending the match with a brutal forearm smash that lays "The Man-Beast" out cold. After the match we see Tag-Team Champs The Killer Bees congratulating one another on their epic win here tonight. They seem sure of their win tomorrow at ECW's Wrestle Annual against The New Orient Express whom they mock. After a few moments they separate and the camera follows B. Brian Blair down the hallway. He turns a corner and walks right into a superkick! After some confusion we see "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri dragging Blair's unconscious body down the hall before he disappears into a side room with a chuckle.ECW President Eric Bischoff is in the middle of the ring once again when ECW returns to air. He is standing in front of a table that has some paperwork on it with Beulah McGillicutty and senior referee Danny Davis by his side. At opposite ends of the table stand "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin. Eric Bischoff says that tomorrow night we'll witness "The Macho Man" Randy Savage face one of these two men for the ECW Championship! But before that match they will face off in the final round of the Tournament to become the number one contender for the coveted Eastern Heavyweight Championship. But before that match can take place they have to agree to the terms and conditions of the match. No the ECW Title must be defended tomorrow night; which means there must be a winner. To that end there will be no time limit, no count outs; and no disqualifications. The winner of this bout will be decided only by either pinfall or submission. In the event that either man is unable to compete for any reason; that person shall lose by forfeit. And if the winner of the match should be unable to compete; the loser shall take his place in the Main Event. He asks Arn and Ronnie if they understand these terms and they both accept.
Arn Anderson then takes the microphone and tells us that he's been close to the Eastern Championship before. That he's had it within his grasp. But has always fallen short. Now tomorrow he faces Ronnie Garvin. A man he hasn't always seen eye to eye with; but a man he respects nonetheless. It's going to be a tough match. But in the end "The Enforcer" will prevail and afterward take home the gold. You can bet your ass on that. He then signs the papers.
Ronnie Garvin then takes the mic and agrees with Arn. That they haven't always gotten along in the past. But there's one thing that they've both always agreed upon and that's the sanctity of this sport of wrestling. That it should be taken seriously and shouldn't be a place for clowns like Randy Savage to come in with all their glitter and glam. That he's tired of being called a bore because he doesn't play along with a sham. So win or lose; Garvin is at least consoled by the fact that tomorrow's match is going to be about one thing. And that's wrestling. But he warns Anderson that he'd better bring his AA game tomorrow. Because Ronnie Garvin has been in this business far too long to play any games. And when he gets the chance; he's gonna take "The Enforcer" out. Garvin then signs the papers too.
The two men stare at one another for a few tense moments before Arn holds out his hand and the two men shake before leaving the ring. Lanny finds this unbelievable. He says this is the first contract signing in wrestling history where the two men didn't end up going at it. It must be. Poffo seems disappointed.
Once the ring is clear "Fire" by Scooter sounds and "The Savior of Sea Isle City" Steven Corino makes his way to the ring. Lanny Poffo is surprised saying he never expected to see Corino in the ring again. Okerlund guesses that mayber Eric Bischoff finally grew up and decided after seeing how he performed in the Tournament; that this kid should be given a second chance.
Corino enters the ring with referee Danny Davis as "Ich tu der weh" by Rammstein hits and "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg appears on the ramp led by The Baron Von Raschke. Poffo laughs and says that if Corino was smart he would've disappeared. Because after this match nobody will ever see him again!Match: Steven Corino vs. The Blitzkrieg Steve Corino stands his ground at first; but after The Blitzkrieg gets ahold of him he does his best to escape the ring. The Blitzkrieg looks like he has no interest in pinning Corino. He doesn't make the cover following the big boot, or the powerbomb, or the bionic elbow off the top, or the various clothesline, or the backbreaker. In desparation Steve manages to crawl out of the ring after a back body drop that plants him close to the ropes. He stumbles right into the arms of The Baron Von Raschke who is laughing maniacally at him as he locks in The Brainclaw! Corino screams in pain until The Blitzkrieg reaches over the ropes and grabs him by the hair; pulling Corino up onto the apron where he slams him back into the ring with a vertical suplex. He lifts him back up to his feet and Steve is a wobbly mess, looking completely out of it. At this point Eric Bischoff appears on the ramp grinning and holding out his hand signals by putting his thumb down. Seeing this; The Blitzkrieg lifts Steve Corino up into the air and splatters him to the mat with a huge chokeslam. He nonchalantly steps on him while Davis mercifully administers the three count. Corino is taken out on a stretcher.
The screen goes black and when it comes back on we see Yoshihiro Tajiri and Taka Michinoku holding "us" down. B. Brian Blair struggles in the grasp of The New Orient Express members asking them what the hell they think they're up to when Mr. Fuji appears with an evil grin on his face. He produces a tattoo gun! He tells Blair not to worry. He just wanted to make sure that in tomorrow's match there'd be no... "Confusion." We hear Blair scream and The New Orient Express laughing as we go to the final...We're welcomed back from the final commercial break of the evening. Mean Gene reminds us once again that the ECW Wrestl Annual is tomorrow live only on Pay Per View. So be sure to call your local cable providers so you don't miss out! He and Lanny then discuss "Macho Man" Randy Savage who has been Eastern Heavyweight Champion since December 29th, 1993.
