10-05-94 Viking Hall Philadelphia, PAMean Gene Okerlund and Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Viking Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for another exciting episode of Eastern Championship Wrestling. Lanny says it's always charming to entertain these smaller arenas. Gene tells him to can it and that all of ECW's fans are important. They then discuss tonight's card which will feature "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin in some tag-team action against "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho and his buddy Big Bad John. A special stipulation of this match being that should Jericho and John lose here tonight; they are never to team up again here at ECW. Lanny wonders who Garvin's mystery partner will be. Probably some other foul-mouthed loser he suspects. The Eastern States Champion Rob Van Dam will also be in action tonight and Okerlund wonders if he'll be in any condition to compete. Poffo says RVD looked like road-kill before and after his Match at Hotter Than Hell; and wouldn't doubt if he showed up here as a rotting corpse tonight. They then hype tonight's Main Event in which Jerry "The King" Lawler will face off against the seemingly unpossessed Brickhouse Brown. Lanny says that he's sure Brown is just biding his time before Papa Shango shows up and inevitably "repossesses" him.McGillicutty: The following contest is schedulef for one fall. Introducing first from Dublin, Ireland weighing 150 lbs.; Velvet McIntyre!
Velvet McIntyre bounds down to the ring and enters posing for the fans before "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summers hits and Debbie Combs appears on the ramp with ECW Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage in tow. Savage joins the broadcast team at ringside and Okerlund says it's unusual to see him accompany Combs to the ring. Lanny says it's good to see Randy branching out to areas where he has some real talent; like valeting. Randy laughs at this and pats Poffo on the back a bit too hard; causing Lanny to complain he just swallowed his gum. Randy then says he's out here to make sure that perverse punk Rick Rude keeps his eyes and body away from what is his. Debbie Combs. Ya dig? He then says that he'll do this the same way he keeps "The Ravishing One" away from the ECW Title. By being ever vigilante. Oooh yeah. Poffo says he thinks Randy meant "vigilant;" and Savage tells him to shut his yap.Match: Velvet McIntyre vs. Debbie Combs Velvet McIntyre and Debbie Combs lock up as referee S.D. Jones begins the match. There's good back and forther with Velvet getting nearfalls following a sunset flip and later in the match with a hurrancanrana she follows up with a facebuster over her knee. Debbie Combs wins it with a swinging neckbreaker on McIntyre a little after the 7-minute mark.
Rude is a no show. The Kaientai Theme hits as The New Orient Express are led to the ring by "The Diabolical One" Mr. Fuji. McGillicutty: The following Tag-Team Contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first accompanied to the ring by Mr. Fuji weighing a combined 367 lbs.; they are Taka Michinoku and "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri; The New Orient Express! Entering the ring Tajiri stalks about while Taka hams it up a bit for the crowd. Referee Danny Davis order Fuji out of the ring when "Jailhouse Rock" by The Blues Brothers hits.
Devon: Testify!
McGilluctty: And introducing their challengers weighing in at a combined weight of 430 lbs.; Devon and Spike; The Hughes Brothers!
Lanny groans and wonders when this Spike guy will go back to something more realistic for a man of his stature. Like lawn ornamenting.Tag-Team Match: The New Orient Express vs. The Hughes Brothers Spike Hughes and Taka Michinoku start things off and the action is fast paced with Spike getting a two count on Taka following a standing dropkick. Michinoku rallies back and has the edge as the two men battle back and forth; getting a two count of his own with an inside cradle. Spike continues to impress however by earning a near fall after hitting a corner running three quarter facelock bulldog (Acid Drop) and later kicking out just before the three after being hit with the Michinoku Driver. It is after kicking out of the Driver he is forced to make a tag; and after some diffculty manages to get to his corner. Devon Hiughes comes in swinging and annihilates Taka Michinoku; making a cover the gets him a two count from the ref after an elbow drop. He makes a mistake when he whips Michinoku into his own corner allowing him to tag Yoshihiro Tajiri in. Tajiri and Devon battle back and forth pulling out all the stops; "The Japanese Buzzsaw" making several covers after a handspring back elbow, a springboard moonsault; and even capturing the much bigger man in the Octopus Stretch for several tense minutes. Devon is no slouch and nearly gets the pin twice after first an inverted legdrop bulldog; and later in the match with a spinebuster that all but puts Tajiri through the ring. After which Devon yelled to the crowd "Testify!" and probably wasted a little too much time. Growing frustrated on the outside; it is only when Devon goes for a superplex on Tajiri that the diabolical Mr. Fuji gets involved and shakes the ropes with his cane; making Devon lose his footing and fall to a seated position opposite Tajiri on the ropes. From there Tajiri grins evilly at the stunned Devon as he lets him have it with a face full of green mist before popping up and hitting a Frankensteiner off the top on Hughes. Making the cover; he gets the win. Spike rushes to his partner's aide while The Orient Express celebrate and exit the ring. Getting up to his feet after checking on Devon; and angry Spike runs toward the celebrating Express and launching himself out of the ring with a suicide dive takes Taka, Tajiri; and Fuji all down to the mat as they tumble about. Referee Danny Davis is quick to get outside and stop any further attacks from either side; but the New Orient Express doesn't look happy at all as they collect themselves and head back up the ramp.Mean Gene welcomes us back to Eastern Championship. He and Lanny then discuss the opponents in the next Match. Specifically how Mongo Vyle's team with Rhino; Destruction Inc.; lost the Tag-Team Titles at Hotter Than Hell after being eliminated by the new Champs The Killer Bees. Lanny still thinks it's unfair that Destruction Inc. had to defend their Championships against four teams in an Elimination Match. They then talk about Scott Taylor's win along with "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson against The Lawlers. Gene says that Taylor has certainly been a star on the rise since teaming with AA; who later surprises them when he isn't here tonight.
"Debonaire" by Dope hits and Mongo Vyle storms the ramp and heads down to the ring looking all business.
McGillicutty: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first making his way from Hell's Kitchen, New York weighing 326 lbs.; he is "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle!
Inside the ring Vyle almost knocks Teddy Long on his ass as he paces about the ring. "Paradise City" by Guns 'N Roses then sounds as Scott Taylor leaps onto the scene.
McGillicutty: And his opponent tonight weighing 209 lbs. from Westbrook, Maine; "The Superstar" Scott Taylor!Match: Mongo Vyle vs. Scott Taylor When Long starts the match Scott Taylor attempts to lock up with Mongo Vyle; but the big man just pushes him across the ring sending him flying back. Taylor gets some offense in using his speed to his advantage; but Mongo is just a little too big and alot too mean for "The Superstar" to get the drop on. When Scott Taylor attempts to execute a headscissors DDT; Mongo Vyle catches him in midair and powerslams him into the canvas where he makes the pin.
Afterward he demands that Beulah McGillicutty bring him a microphone. He says that he isn't going to bitch about losing the Tag-Team belts; but honestly he's more than a little pissed off. Vyle says that beside the fact he wasn't the one who went and got pinned; he's tired of seeing this New Orient Express walking around acting like they're the number one contenders. That he and Rhino; Destruction Inc.; as the people who just lost the Championship are entitled to a damned rematch for the belts. And he doesn't care if Taka got his poor little head bumped on a damned fire extinguisher by The Killer Bees. That if The New Orient Express think they're going to taking on the Champions before he gets his rematch; then those stinkin' Japs are about to end up like "The Superstar" here. Destroyed!Mean Gene welcomes us back to Eastern Championship and thanks us for joining them here at Viking Hall tonight. He reminds us that next week ECW will be coming to use live from the Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati, Ohio and that while tickets for the show are sold out; be sure to joing us right here on TNN The Nashville Network; home of Eastern Championship Wrestling."Thunderkiss '65" by White Zombie then fills the arena as Chris Jericho swaggers onto the ramp with Big Bad John lumbering behind him. He heads down to the ring mic already in hand and once inside says that the moment Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has been anxiously awaiting has finally arrived! "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" is back in action! And he's chosen this very arena to make his return. Why you ask? Well Jericho is glad you did. Because there's a very specific reason he would want to return in such an unworthy, rank city like Philadelphia. It's because he'd like nothing better than to end "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin's career in the middle of nowhere. Now Chris has been anxious to know one thing however; and that's who'd be stupid enough to be Garvin's mystery partner tonight? Well "Rugged"? Who's it gonna be?Ronnie Garvin then steps out onto the ramp and tells Chris Jericho that he's always thought he was an idiot. But he's reached an all-new level of ignorance by not realizing that Philadelphia; The City of Brotherly Love; is one of the greatest city's in America. And that so are it's people. And he said that he's going to feel priviledged to whoop Jericho's sorry ass on behalf of the people in this arena here tonight. But first he thinks his Tag-Team partner might have something to say about that.Just then referee S.D. Jones grabs Chris Jericho from behind and clocks him with a hard right! "The Loud-Mouth" is stunned as he is beaten back toward the ropes. Garvin heads down the ramp and tells Jericho that he may have forgot to mention he saw Eric Bischoff early today; and had this turned into a No Disqualifcation Match! Meanwhile Big Bad John has pulled Jones off of Jericho in a full nelson giving Chris time to catch his breath while referee Danny Davis runs down to the ring to get the match underway.Tag-Team Match: Ronnie Garvin & S.D. Jones vs. Chris Jericho & Big Bad John Ronnie Garvin comes in swinging and hits John hard in the back with a double-axe handle freeing S.D. Jones who collides with a charging Jericho. Pandemonium ensues as the four men begin brawling about the ring. Garvin loses his initial edge on Big Bad when the huge man blocks one of his punches and clotheslines him over the top rope and out of the ring. He follows him to the floor below while S.D. Jones and Jericho go punch for punch in the corner until Chris knees Jones in the groin knocking him to the ground and begins putting the boots to him. On the outside John attempts to whip Garvin into the steel steps; but he reverses it and sends Big Bad rocketing into the steel instead. The fans cheer as Ronnie grabs the stairs and lifting them over his head begins pummeling John with them. Insde the ring however S.D. Jones is on one knee taking a beating from "The Loud-Mouth" who has ripped off Jones' referee shirt. Quickly shooting forward S.D. grabs Jericho and nails him with an inverted atomic drop before hammering him down to the mat with a side Russian legsweep. He goes for the pin; but Chris kicks out at two. Outside the tables have turned for Garvin when Big Bad John big boots the steel steps back into his face. Grabbing "Rugged" by the head he smashes him into the ring post busting him open. Viciously he jabs his finger into the open wound. S.D. Jones has Chris Jericho in a headlock on the ground and it looks like The Mouth is ready to fade when he begins to rally himself by kicking the floor. Somewhat recovered he delivers a stiff elbow to the face of Jones before staggering to his feet and pegging him with an enziguiri kick. S.D. goes down hard but manages to power out just before the three; only to have Jericho leap on him and lay into him with punch after punch. Garvin and John's brawl has made its way to the announcer's table where "Rugged" smashes Big Bad's face into a monitor before clearing it off sending equipment everywhere. Rolling Big Bad onto the table Garvin climbs up and hammers his back and head a bit before attempting to powerbomb the huge man. John's strength comes into play however and countering the move he puts Ronnie head first through the table breaking it in half. Inside the ring Jericho and Jones are trading chop after chop before Jericho gains the upperhand and taking S.D. by the hand whips him across the ring. On the way back howecer S.D. Jones takes Chris down with a huge shoulder tackle and stumbling back up to his feet picks Jericho up and hits a swinging neckbreaker. "The Loud-Mouth" is out cold as S.D. makes the cover; hooking his leg. 1! 2!... Big Bad John grabs Jones and pulls him off! 3! S.D. Jones strugles in the big man's grasp as he lifts him by the neck with both hands and hits a sitout powerbomb for the three count. By this time a dazed Chris Jericho is back on his feet and celebrates in victory with his partner.McGillicutty: The following non-Title bout is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Anneville, Pennsylvania weighing 246 lbs.; he is "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman!
Blackman gives a demonstation with his Kendo sticks on the ramp before heading down to the ring. The crowd comes alive when "Poundcake" by Van Halen rips through the arena and out steps "Rob.. Van... Dam!" pointing to his shoulders as the fans chant along. He has the Eastern States Title draped over his shoulder.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent this evening weighing in at 237 lbs. from Battle Creek, Michigan; he is the Eastern States Champion; "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam!Match: Steve Blackman vs. Rob Van Dam Rob Van Dam still looks a little shaky from his recent attacks and matches with The Blitzkrieg; but he is in much better shape than he has been and it shows as he locks up with Steve Blackman as Long starts the match. "The Silent Assassin" gives RVD a good fight with lots of kicks and reversals exchanged by both men throughout the match. At one point Rob looks to be in trouble when Blackman locks him in a guillotine choke; but Van Dam manages to fight his way to the ropes to break the hold. In the end Rob Van Dam sends Steve Blackman down to the mat with a monkey flip before going up top and connecting with the Five Star Frog Splash for the win. ECW then cuts to backstage where ECW correspondent Michele Starr is standing by with newly recrowned Women's Champion "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore. Starr congratulates her on winning the Title and asks her how it feels to be the first two time Champion in the company's history.
Jacqueline thanks Michele Starr before reminding him that she isn't only the first two time Champion in the company's history; she's also the first ECW Champion ever; having won her first Title on December 22nd, 1993. She says that to answer his question it feels great to be Champion again and she looks forward to the challenges being Champion of the Women's Division will bring. Starr then asks her if she's worried that "The Hawaiian Princess" Leilani Kai will be out to reclaim the Title. Moore say she has no doubt Kai will be looking to reclaim the Title. She explains that with a competitor like Leilani you have to be at the top of your game; because not only is she one hell of a challenge in the ring; but she also a no good cheat.
Just then a growl is heard as Leilani Kai attacks Jacqueline from behind! She knocks the Champ to the floor and begins beating on her. Kai then gets in Starr's face and she says that she was robbed of the damned Title and Eric Bischoff had better give her her Title shot sooner rather than later. Or else she'll pop his head like a coconut. Starr looks fearful of her. When Eastern Championship returns Gene and Lanny talk about the dastardly attack by Leilani Kai on Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore before the break. Lanny says that's what Jackie gets for insulting Kai. Okerlund disagrees with this; saying that Moore only told the truth to which Poffo retorts "That well; the truth hurts." They then begin to hype the next match which will be the ECW debut of KAMA; who is apparently an expert at MMA or mixed martial arts. They welcome him to the broadcast table where Okerlund says that KAMA is a rather interesting name. KAMA tells us that is name is an analogy. It mean Kick Any Man's Ass. Poffo corrects him saying he means an "anagram." KAMA responds by holding his fist menacingly at Lanny and asks "Wan' me to hit you foo'?" Poffo declines. KAMA then says that he was trained in the world of mixed-martial arts and that the sport is filled with wannabe athletes who couldn't beat Pauly Shore in a thumb wrestling match. He says that them fools were too scared of a serious competitor like him and were content fighting losers like Shamrock and Severn. So instead he decided to use his skills to fight real men in real fights; and signed up with ECW because it seemed to have the toughest competitors in the sport today. Gene thanks him for his time and KAMA leaves. Lanny concludes that any man who uses an anagram as his name deserves to have his ass kicked and hopes that's what we'll witness here today.
McGillicutty: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Las Vegas, Nevada weighing 330 lbs. "The Ultimate Fighting Champion" KAMA!
KAMA heads down to the ring and shows off some of his fighting prowess in the ring while referee Danny Davis looks on. Soon "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen plays as Junkyard Dog appears on the ramp and rattles his chain while barking at the crowd.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent this evening from Wadesboro, North Carolina weighing in at 280 lbs.; he is one half of the tag-team Deep South; JYD The Junkyard Dog!Match: KAMA vs. Junkyard Dog KAMA looks impressive early in this match holding his own with the Junkyard Dog. JYD catches him with a headbutt and THUMP scoop powerslam combo before making the cover and KAMA surprises The Dog by kicking out at two. Angered by this Junkyard barks at KAMA which seems to throw "The Ultimate Fighting Champion" off his game. Junkyard Dog dominates most of the remainder of the match; ending it when he whips KAMA across the ring and connects with a big boot that earns him the pinfall.
Lanny is relieved and Gene jokes that perhaps KAMA should rechristen himself KAMAEJYD. Poffo ponders how you'd manage to pronounce such a name.
"Ravishing" Rick Rude's strip theme then hits as he appears on the ramp and swaggers his way down to the ring. He paces about before ordering the music to be cut. He then tells "Macho Man." I have news for you. You're wrorrited about the "Hot Stuff?" Debbie Combs; I can have her any time I want; so don't be. If I want her. I'll take her. See Savage you have a pretty good physique I'll give you that. And being World Champ I'm sure has it's allure. But eventually a woman is going to go looking for a real man. Someone who doesn't have to hide behind a skirt to get his wins. And let's face facts Savage; when we're talking real men; who's a greater physical specimen, has a more acute mind; and is all around more of a total package than "The Ravishing One?" Rick Rude. Now which one of you beautiful Phillies is gonna come on up here and help me with my robe so we can get a look at a real man? You?... You?... No you. Come on up."Security helps the woman Rude has selected out of the crowd and into the ring where she helps him remove his robe. Like always he scoops her up into his arms and plants a deep kiss on her. She seems to be awestruck as Rude begins to give the ladies a look at "The world's Sexiest Man."When Eastern Championship returns Gene welcomes us back from our final commercial break of the evening. He and Lanny then hype tonight's Main Event. They discuss Jerry Lawler's involvement in the attack on Arn Anderson and Randy Savage back on June 25th. An event Lawler himself claims to have no knowledge of, claiming to have been posessed at the time by "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango. They talk about how the fans and Arn Anderson have refused to cut "The King" any slack on the matter since and the apparent change in Lawler's attitude as a result. They then talk about Brickhouse Brown; lackey of Papa Shango; and his role in the events. They talk about Shango's recent defeat at the hands of ECW Heavyweight Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Brickhouse Brown's apparent turnabout to the side of the angels afterward. Both Gene and Lanny are skeptical of this change. The Bill Conti Overture then plays as Jerry Lawler appears on the ramp; hand raised in the air to a chorus of boos.
McGillicutty: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Memphis, Tennessee weighing 243 lbs.; Jerry "The King" Lawler!
Jerry enters the ring and shakes hands with Teddy Long whom he hands his crown over to.
McGillicutty: And his opponent this evening weighing 270 lbs. from Wimington, Delaware; Brickhouse Brown!
Brown appears on the ramp just as he did on last week's show. Determined and seemingly back to his old self. He enters the ring and shakes hand with Long. When he attempts to shake Lawler's hand as well; "The King" smacks it away receiving more boos from the audience.Main Event: Jerry Lawler vs. Brickhouse Brown Following the lock up Jerry Lawler begins hammering Brickhouse Brown back into the ropes. Brown however battles back and takes Lawler down to the mat with a hard right. Jerry is quick to get up and even quicker to hit the canvas again as Brickhouse nails him with a dropkick out of nowhere. Instead of keeping on top of Lawler Brickhouse taunts him with a strut trying to get the crowd to rally behind him. Lawler gets to his feet and comes after Brickhouse who grapples with him until Lawler whips him into the ropes. On the rebound Brown attempts a shoulderblock; but Jerry leapfrogs him to dodge. When Brown comes back Jerry catches him with a scoop slam and goes for the pin getting a two count. Brown kicks out hard however but "The King" stays on him first with the boots and then with several chops. Blocking his latest salvo; Brown fires back and begins hammering on Jerry before whipping him across the ring. As Lawler returns Brown leaps at him with a flying body press! Jerry sees this and ducks for cover sending Brown over his head to crash and burn on the other side of the ring. Referee Teddy Long begins the ten count when Brickhouse rolls from the ring to catch his breath. Lawler mocks him and gestures for his opponent to reenter the ring. Still a bit dazed Brown does so at 5 with Jerry Lawler keeping on top of him. "The King" immediately begins hammering on his prey and sending Brickhouse on a short trip into the ropes takes him down with a clothesline. Jerry adjusts his elbow pad as he stalks his the downed Brown. Lifting Brickhouse Brown to his feet Jerry kicks him in the gut before catching him in a headlock and hammering him in the face. Brown staggers back into the corner and manages to kick Lawler as he approaches. Jerry keeps coming however and grabbing Brown by the head he runs him across the ring looking to smash him head first into the turnbuckle! Brown catches the ropes to block however and nails Lawler with an elbow to the jaw before taking "The King's" head and smashing him into the corner. This gives Brown some time to recuperate. He begins nailing Lawler with hard rights and lefts before Irish whipping him into the ropes and connecting with an elbow smash that drops Jerry to the mat. Lawler pleads with Brown as he gets back to his feet but Brickhouse just continues to pound on him. Grabbing Brickhouse, Lawler rakes his face receiving a warning from the ref. This gives Jerry the edge he needs and he beats down Brown before whipping him into the ropes and sends Brickhouse flying with a back body drop. He attempts to keep on him; but Brown surprises him by getting right back to his feet and taking the fight to Lawler. The two men begin trading punches in the middle of the ring and grabbing "The King" Brown nails him with a facebuster over his knee! Jerry goes down hard and Brickhouse makes the cover. 1! 2!.... Jerry kicks out! Jerry struggles to one knee while Brickhouse continues to maul him. Brown is swinging wildly and Teddy Long moves to separate them. Seeing an opportunity Jerry nails him with a forearm to the nuts! Long doesn't see the low blow as Jerry Lawler stumbles to his feet and regaining his balance scoops Brickhouse Brown up; nailing him with the Piledriver! A three count later and it's over. Lights Fade.

10/12/94 - Riverfront Coliseum Cincinnati, OH"White Train" by Tito & Tarantula is blasting through the arena as ECW President Eric Bischoff swaggers about the ring talking inaudibly to Beulah McGillicutty. Mean Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo briefly welcome us to Eastern Championship Wrestling, tonight coming to us live from the Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinatti, Ohio. Okerlund is kind of confused and a little annoyed as he tells us how he isn't able to tell us anything about tonight's card; because it hasn't been scheduled yet?!Inside the ring Bischoff weclomes all the ladies and gentlemen (all two of you) to the Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati, Ohio! He says that by now when you see his face. The face of one ECW President Eric Bischoff. By now you see that business is about to get underway! No before Gene starts in with the shill comments (too late); tonight's announcements are all about the Wrestling! Now as he's sure everyone is aware two weeks ago at Hotter Than Hell, Eric made a big announcement about ECW's future as it will host it's First Ever Pay Per View; The ECW Wrestle Annual on December 1st at the Madison Square Garden (felt forum)! This monumentous occasion will celebrate Eastern Championship's 1 year anniversary under Bischoff's leadership and will only cost the folks at home a mere $14.95! He then says that he's heard the questions. And he's here to answer a few of them? Namely; what matches will be on the card. And honestly Eric Bischoff himself doesn't know this yet. He has no idea who will hold the ECW Titles in three months! He doesn't have ESP! But tonight they're going to start figuring out who is going to challenge for the Belts. That they can do. And they're going to start things off with a bang! Tonight there will be five matches, the partipants chosen by random lottery; and these five matches will be the start of a special Tournament to determine the number one contender for the ECW Heavyweight Champship at Wrestle Annual! He then says alot of us may be asking who will be participating in the overall Tournament? How does every able bodied member on the roster sound? That's right. Every single competitor in ECW will get his shot until only two men remain. And those two men; they'll compete at Wrestle Annual as well. In the opening bout!
Now enough about Wrestle Annual. For now. That's over two months away after all. Right now Eric Bischoff wants to talk about tonight. Now on last week's show there was a number of people looking for Championship rematches. Rematches for Titles lost at Hotter Than Hell. Well; tonight Bischoff is going to give em. Tonight Women's Champion "Miss Texas: Jacqueline Moore will defend her belt against "The Hawaiian Princess" Leilani Kai! And in what's sure to be an amazing Main Event; Destruction Inc. will attempt to reclaim the ECW Tag-Team Championships from The Killer Bees! Gene then tells us they've just received word that the first Tournament match of the night is about to get under way. "Fight the Power" by The Isley Brother plays as Brickhouse Brown appears on the ramp and heads down to the ring.McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled fore one fall; the winner moving into the second round. Introducing first from Wilmington Delaware weighing 270 lbs.; Brickhouse Brown!
The Kaientai Theme hits and Taka Michinoku heads down to the ring alone where Brown waits with referee S.D. Jones. Gene chalks Michinoku not bringing Mr. Fuji with him to ringside up to Taka being a little more honorable than his New Orient Express cohorts. Lanny says it's simply because you don't need any advice when dealing with a chump such as Brickhouse.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent from Morioka, Iwate, Japan weighing in at 187 lbs.; Taka Michinoku!Match: Brickhouse Brown vs. Taka Michinoku Taka Michinoku gives the older pro Brickhouse Brown a workout; nearly pinning him after catching him offguard with a schoolboy. Brickhouse Brown is considerably bigger and manages to use his size to his advantage; grounding the high flying Taka Michinoku before taking him out with a swinging neckbreaker. When Eastern Championship returns Mean Gene recaps Eric Bischoff's announcement of their being two big Championship rematches to take place tonight; for both the Women's and Tag-Team Championships. He also talks about the Heavyweight Championship number one contender's Tournament of which we just witnessed the first round before the break with Brickhouse Brown eliminating Taka Michinoku.
Lanny then wants to know with a random lottery to determine the Tournament matches; what the odds are of our next match in which longtime rivals "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Jerry "The King" Lawler face off. Okerlund doesn't know; but he is quite certain that neither of these men would have expected to be eliminated in the Tournament's first round; but now facing each other; obviously one of them will be. Lanny adds that AA hasn't had much luck with Heavyweight Title tournaments in the past; reminding us that Arn Anderson was eliminated from the original ECW Heavyweight Title tournament in the first round by the tournament's eventual winner the "Macho Man" Randy Savage on Eastern Championship Wrestling's initial broadcast on December 1st of last year.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall with the victor moving on to the second round. Introducing first from Rome, Georgia weighing 255 lbs.; he is "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson!
AA comes down to the ring and adjusts his trunks before shaking hands with referee Danny Davis. The Bill Conti Overture then sounds.
McGillicutty: And his opponent on his way to the ring weighing in at 243 lbs. from Memphis, Tennessee; introducing now Jerry "The King" Lawler!Match: Arn Anderson vs. Jerry Lawler Davis starts the match as Arn Anderson and Jerry Lawler locks up. Getting the edge on Jerry, AA locks him in an arm wrench while hammering on it. Lawler winces in pain until Anderson takes him to the mat and catches him in a headlock. "The Enforcer" Works over "Th King's" neck until Jerry battles back' finally freeing himself with a back elbow to Anderson's gut. Anderson is quick to recover however and grabbing Lawler whips him into the ropes. Looking for a back body drop; Arn ducks too early on the rebound however and Jerry catches him with a kick to the face. As Anderson reels back Jerry lays into him with chop after chop driving him into the ropes before Irish whipping him across the ring. "The King" connects with a clothesline on AA before making the cover getting a two count. Keeping control Jerry lifts "The Enforcer" to one knee and begins punching and elbowing him in the face. When the ref tells him to stop he rakes Arn's face. Dropping AA Lawler runs back into the ropes to build momentum and comes flying in with a knee smash. Leaping up at the last second however Arn Anderson nails him with the spinebuster and hooks the leg! 1...2... Jerry kicks out! 3! Arn stumbles up to his feet and catches his breath while leaning on the ropes before heading back over to the downed King and puts the boots to him. Lifting him up he whips him into the ropes and takes him back down to the ground with a hiptoss before hitting an elbow drop. When he goes for the cover however Jerry grabs hold of hits tights rolling him up! 1...2... . Anderson kicks out! Lawler complains about a slow count to Davis as Arn gets back to his feet and nails him with a hard right. Jerry fires back and the two men begin brawling about the ring. Getting the upperhand AA traps "The King" in the corner and climbing the bottom rope he lets Jerry have it with a volley of punches. Lawler is dazed and confused as Arn lifts him up to the top turnbuckle. Grabbing Jerry he goes for the Superplex! Jerry however holds onto the top ropes for dear life and blocks it. He begins hammering on Arn's head and the two men throw punches back and forth before Jerry shoves AA off the top. "The Enforcer" crashes to the canvas hard while Jerry signals for the Flying Fist Drop! "The King" goes airborne as Arn comes to his senses and getting to his feet delivers a knee to Lawler's guts as he descends to the mat. Jerry rolls on the ground in pain as Arn picks him up and throws him over his shoulders in a fireman's carry. Jerry however wiggles free and sliding down behind Arn pushes him forward. Into referee Danny Davis! Arn and Danny collide hard smacking heads sending Davis to the floor. Anderson however keeps his footing and while the ref is down Lawler hits AA from behind with a forearm to the groin! As "The Enforcer" collapses Jerry makes the cover. Danny Davis is still down and out however and when Jerry Lawler gets up to wake him he is grabbed from behind and spun around! He's looking into the face of Tommy Rich! What's he doing here?! Grabbing a surprised Lawler up into the air Rich nails him with a Piledriver! Rich rolls out of the ring as Arn Anderson sits up and sees him escape. Davis is coming to and AA doesn't care what happened; he makes the cover. 1...2...3! Arn has won it!When Eastern Championship returns Lanny and Gene discuss what just occured before the break with "Wildfire" Tommy Rich showing up here at Eastern Championship Wrestling; interfering in the tournament match between Jerry Lawler and Arn Anderson; costing Lawler the match. Okerlund is sure of one thing; that "The King" will be livid. Lanny agrees; especially with Rich using Lawler's own move on him. Moving on they discuss the next first round tournament match which will feature two of ECW's big men; Big Bad John and The Blitzkrieg. Gene mentions how these two have never faced off against one another yet but things are sure to get brutal. Lanny wonders just how bad The Blitzkrieg was injured at Hotter Than Hell and if that will be a factor here tonight. They then discuss how Brickhouse Brown and Arn Anderson have already qualified for the second round of the tournament to be number one contender for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship at ECW Wrestle Annual on December 1st. "Thunderkiss '65" by Rob Zombie then hits as Big Bad John comes out onto the ramp with Chris Jericho in tow.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall; with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first accompanied by "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho weighing 321 lbs.; from Venice Beach, California he is Big Bad John!
Getting in the ring with John, Jericho seems to be giving him advice until "Ich tu dir weh" by Rammstein hits and The Baron Von Raschke appears with The Blitzkrieg. S.D. Jones has no trouble getting Jericho to leave the ring then.
McGillicutty: And his opponent this evening weighing 323 lbs. from the Republic of Germany; and accompanied by The Baron Von Raschke; he is "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg!Match: Big Bad John vs. The Blitzkrieg Jericho coaches Big Bad John from ringisde and the big man manages to keep The Blitzkrieg on his toes throughout the match; concencentrating all his energy on hammering the mask and the possibly damaged face beneath. The Blitzkrieg however is no pushover and the two men brawl about the ring until The Blitzkrieg catches Big Bad by the throat and plants him to the canvas with a vicious chokeslam. Chris Jericho is quick to jump up onto the apron causing referee S.D. Jones to argue with him until The Baron Von Raschke actually enters the ring and tells Jones to start counting. Angered by this S.D. escorts Von Raschke from the ring which gives Jericho enough time to slide into the ring with a steel chair! He doesn't swing it however; instead tossing it at The Blitzkrieg. The big man catches it as Chris rolls out of the ring. Already annoyed by The Baron's bullying; when Jones turns and see "Mangler's Monster" standing over Big Bad John with a steel chair in hand; he calls for the bell disqualifying him; giving Big Bad the win by DQ. Hearing the decision The Blitzkrieg goes berzerk and charges the ref who makes his escape from the ring. Meanwhile Big Bad John is dazed and attempting to sit up. Seeing this The Blitzkrieg lets him have it repeatedly with the steel chair while Jericho is chased up the ramp and into the back by The Baron.Mean Gene is talking about that vile cheat "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho and how his interference just won his bosom buddy Big Bad John the match. He says that the result should be overturned. Lanny notes that he didn't here Okerlund clamoring for such actions to be taken in "The Enforcer's" match with Jerry Lawler. Gene says that was different because Arn Anderson isn't in cahoots with that asshat Tommy Rich. They then recap the Women's Title Match at Hotter Than Hell in which "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore won the Title for the second time when she defeated Women's Champ "The Hawaiian Princess" Leilani Kai via Submission in a Triple Threat against her and "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon.
McGillicutty: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the Women's Championship. Introducing first from Dallas, Texas weighing 130 lbs.; she is the Women's Champion "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore!
Jacqueline heads down the ramp and poses with her belt before handing it off to Danny Davis. Luau music is then heard as Leilani Kai storms onto the ramp.
McGillicutty: And her challenger this evening from Honolulu, Hawaii weighing in at 162 lbs. from Honolulu, Hawaii; "The Hawaiian Princess" Leilani Kai!Women's Title Match: Jacqueline Moore vs. Leilani Kai Leilani Kai is on fire when referee Danny Davis starts the match and hands the Women's Champ a beating early on; nearly getting the pinfall after a Gorilla Press Slam. Jacqueline Moore however fights her way back and immediately after getting a nearfall with a Tornado DDT on "The Hawaiian Princess; she puts Leilani Kai away for the count with a bridging German Suplex.
The announcers talk about how impressive both Women were in the ring tonight until "Ravishing" Rick Rude's strip theme hits and he swaggers his way down the ramp. McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall; with the winner moving onto the second round. Introducing first from Robbinsdale, Minnesota weighing 251 lbs.; he is "The Ravishing One" Rick Rude!Getting inside he asks for a mic from the beautiful Beulah McGillicutty. He gives a dance before ordering for them to cut the music. He says that last week he told "The Macho Man" that he'd better watch his back. That Rick Rude has set his mind to one thing. And that's becoming ECW Heavyweight Champion. And now this week there's this tournament. A challenge amongst the whole roster to prove who's the best of the best. The cream of the crop. Just one week after he issued his challenge. Now that's when your know when Lady Destiny is calling to you. And when Lady Destiny comes a knocking you do like "The Ravishing One" is going to do. You wine her, you dine her; and then you sixty-nine her. He then asks which of these beautiful Ohio does is going to help him with his robe. You?... You? You over there. Security help her on up.Security helps the young woman Rude has selected up to the ring where she helps him remove his robe. Once she does; as usual he sweeps her into his arms and slips her some tongue. She seems in a daze as he tells security to get her out of her. Rude paces the ring for a few moments before "Everyday" by Buddy Holly comes on and Steven Richards appears on the ramp.
McGillicutty: And his opponent tonight from Philadelphia, Pennsylvani weighing in at 215 lbs.; Steven Richards!Match: Rick Rude vs. Steven Richards Steven Richards puts up more of a fight than either Rick Rude or the fans expected from him; but in the end falls victim to the Rude Awakening and a three count from S.D. Jones.Mean Gene goes over the first round Tournament wins seen so far tonight; with Brickhouse Brown, Arn Anderson, Big Bad John; and Rick Rude going on to the second round so far. He and Lanny then discuss the last Tournament Match to take place this evening which will be coming up next as Eastern States Champion Rob Van Dam is set to take on Canada's Greatest Athlete Mike Sharpe. Normally Poffo says he'd just bet on the guy who isn't from Canada; however Rob Van Dam is still heeling from injuries he sustained at the hands of his Hotter Than Hell rival The Blitzkrieg over the last several months. Gene then reminds him that RVD looked quite impressive against "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman last week. Lanny says that with all due respect to "Mr. Wednesday Night;" Blackman makes everyone look impressive by comparison.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall; with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first from Battle Creek, Michigan weighing 237 lbs. he is the Eastern States Champion "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam!
"Poundcake" by Van Halen sounds throughout the arena as RVD bounds out onto the ramp and points to his shoulders as the fans chant "Rob... Van... Dam!" He comes down to the ring and rolls inside posing for the fans with the Eastern States Title around his waist before handing it over to Danny Davis. Once he's inside the Canadian National Anthem plays as Mike Sharpe takes to the ramp with a Canadian flag waving in his hands.
McGillicutty: And his opponent tonight hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada weighing 282 lbs. he is Canada's Greatest Athlete "Iron" Mike Sharpe!Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Mike Sharpe These two compeititors give it their all and battle back and forth; neither man dominating for long. Rob Van Dam seems like he's in trouble when he spends several tense minutes trapped in a bearhug; but he manages to escape hitting a springboard enziguiri kick off of Mike Sharpe himself which nets him a two count. Later in the match with monstrous momentum behind him Sharpe seems like he has the match all but won after hitting his running forearm smash; laying "Mr. Wednesday Night" out cold. RVD stuns the crowd however when he limping powers out a split second before the three. It's only when RVD is going punch for punch with the much bigger Sharpe and taking some serious damage that Rob Van Dam catches "Iron" Mike off-guard with an elbow to the eye before circling about the stunned man and nails him hard with a picture perfect Northern Lights suplex; which he bridges. Mike Sharpe struggles to free himself; but Rob Van Dam holds strong picking up the win.Gene Okerlund welcomes and thanks us for joining us here on Easter Championship Wrestling following our last commercial break. He reminds us that next week's show will be coming live from the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio or for those folks viewing at home right here on ECW's home station; TNN The Nashville Network. He and Lanny then hype tonight's Main Event in which former Tag-Team Champions Destruction Inc. will get their rematch against current Tag-Team Champs The Killer Bees; who won the Titles from them in a Four Team Elimination Match three weeks ago at Hotter Than Hell. Not without a little controversy Lanny adds; mentioning that the final elimination only occured after B. Brian Blair gave New Orient Express member Taka Michinoku a migraine with a fire extinguisher. An annoying buzzing is heard.
McGillicutty: The Following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the Tag-Team Championships. Introducing first weighing at combined 470 lbs.; they are the Eastern Tag-Team Champions; The Killer Bees; "Jumping" Jim Brunzell and B. Brian Blair! The Bees come out and show off their Titles before coming down to the ring and handing them over to referee S.D. Jones along with their jackets and headbands. They wait together inside the ring until "Debonaire" by Dope hits and Destruction Inc. storm their way down to ringside.
McGillicutty: And introducing their challengers tonight weighing in at a combined 594 lbs.; they are Mongo Vyle and Rhino; Destruction Inc.!Tag-Team Title Main Event: The Killer Bees vs. Destruction Inc. Jim Brunzell starts things off with Rhino and the match has good back and forth with "Jumping" Jim getting a two count on Rhino when he sunset flips "The Man-Beast" to counter The Gore striking spear. Later in the match however Rhino Irish whips Brunzell hard into Destruction Inc. corner and tags in Mongo Vyle. Vyle begins beating Brunzell down and nearly decapitates him with a clothesline before tagging Rhino back in. Destruction Inc. continually quick tags each other in while keeping Jim in their corner working him over while B. Brian Blair grows frustrated in the Bee corner. Brunzell makes several desperate efforts to get to Blair; but he is continually cut off by Destruction Inc.; who keep dragging him back to their corner. Finally Rhino and Mongo set Jim up for their Death Drop flapjack/cutter combo (3D) that puts his lights out and Vyle makes the cover. Blair has had enough however and in full view of the ref comes in with one of the Tag titles and brains Mongo over the head breaking the count. "The Machiavellan Mauler" rolls out of the ring as his tag partner Rhino enters; only to receive a face full of gold from B. Brian Blair as he smashes him in the face with the Title as well knocking him back into the ropes and over the top. Jones has no choice but to call for the bell; giving the DQ win to Destruction Inc. Mongo and Rhino meanwhile are back on their feet and attempting to reenter the ring; but with the Tag Championship still in hand he keeps them on the outside as the...

10/19/94 - The Gund Arena Cleveland, OHMean Gene welcomes us to The Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio for another exciting edition of Eastern Champiohship Wrestling. He then introduces to his broadcast partner "The Genius" Lanny Poffo. They begin discussing last week's show and how we witnessed the first five matches in the first round of the Tournament to determine the number one contender for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship on December 1st at ECW's inaugural Pay Per View; Wrestle Annual. Last week Brickhouse Brown, Arn Anderson, Rick Rude, Rob Van Dam; and Big Bad John all qualified to move on to the second round. On today's card we will witness four more Round One match-ups. They then begin talking about last week's Tag-Team Main Event when Pantera's "Fucking Hostile" cut them off and Destruction Inc. storm down the ramp."The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle gets on the mic and tells us he's damned pissed about what happened on last week's show. That those lousy punks The Killer Bees knew damned well those Tag-Team belts were going to fall back into the hands of the rightful Tag-Team Champs; Destruction Inc. So like the cowards they are they took the easy way out. Rhino then takes over and says that had that bastard Blair not done what he done he would've had "Jumping" Jim down for the three count. And he demands that Eric Bischoff come out here right now and give them a rematch! The two bruisers stand waiting inside the ring for a minute when The Kaientai Theme hits. Out walks Mr. Fuji who leads The New Orient Express' Taka Michinoku and Yoshihiro Tajiri down to ringside. Once insde Fuji stares up at the much bigger men. He then says that while it is understandable that the big ugly Americans are angered by The Bees actions; that the right to face the Tag-Team Champs belongs to his men; the most honorable New Orient Express! He says that at Hotter Than Hell it was The Express who were the last team inside the ring with The Killer Bees and that it was only because of the one with the funny moustache's heinous attack with a fire extinguisher that his men Tajiri and Michinoku are not standing in this very ring now as the two-time Tag-Team Champions. And therefore most venerable Mr. Bischoff owes them the rematch. Vyle doesn't seem to happy to hear this and is talking trash to Mr. Fuji when "White Train" by Tito & Tarantula sounds. From the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff. He comes down to the ring and hops inside. He tells Destruction Inc. and The New Orient Express that he understands both team's frustrations and sympathizes with their wants; but...An annoying buzzing is heard as The Killer Bees appear on the ramp with the Tag-Team Titles around their waists. Jim Brunzell says to hold on a minute. That him and Blair have an idea. Gene says he can see the smoke coming out their ears. B. Brian Blair then tells Bischoff that both teams he's inside the ring with are sore losers. They accuse him and Brunzell; the best Tag-Team in the world today of being cheaters? Pot meet kettle. Blair explains that you don't see them shooting mist in people's faces or having a manager who acts as a third wheel on The Killer Bee Express. Brunzell then says not to leave the tubby titans out; but he wants to know when the art, the science of wrestling devolved to the level where some brawny no nothings like Destruction Inc. can think some mediocre at best bar room brawling and throwing their considerable weight around makes them athletes. Both teams are furious now and hurl insults at the Bees until Bischoff barks for everyone to be quiet. "Just shut the hell up!"
Eric then excuses himself to the fans before reminding The Killer Bees that they claimed to have an idea and either he wants to here it; or they can get lost. Blair laughs at this reminding him they're the Tag-Team Champs and Bischoff had better treat them with respect their Titles are due. He then says that him and Brunzell thought that in the interest of competition it might be fun to see Destruction Inc. and The New Orient Express to settle the matter of who gets to face them in the ring; in a number one contender's match. Both the Express and Destruction Inc. seem to like this idea; and after some thought Eric gives the okay. He says that the Match will take place next week.Lanny and Gene then discuss what happened and Okerlund hopes to see the Bees lose the belts. He says that they didn't win them acting like Champions and haven't conducted themselves like a Champion either. Poffo just thinks "Mr. Moustache" looks good with some gold around his waist. "Rockin' Robin" by Bobby Daye then plays.McGillicutty: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Hammond, Louisiana weighing 145 lbs.; Rockin' Robin!
Rockin' Robin bounds down the ramp and gets inside the ring with referee Danny Davis where she poses for the crowd. After several seconds "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard sounds and Tiffany appears on the ramp.
McGillicutty: And her opponent this evening weighing 150 lbs. hailing from Monterry, Nuevo Leon; Tiffany!Match: Rockin' Robin vs. Tiffany The two women have a fast paced hard fought contest which sees Rockin' Robin get the near fall on Tiffany following a crossbody of the top onto Tiffany. Going up top later in the match proves to be Robin's downfall however when Tiffany climbs up and after a short battles connects with the Iconoclasm for the pinfall. We're then taken to a pretaped segment with Brickhouse Brown. He says that due to his association with Papa Shango; people may not take him seriously as a contender. But last week he put down former Tag-Team Champion Taka Michinoku to advance in the Tournament. And he's out on a mission to prove to the world that the man of the hour, too sweet to be sour; Brickhouse Brown is back baby.Mean Gene welcomes us back and says before the break we saw a message from Brickhouse Brown regarding his win in the Tournament to be number one contender for the Heavyweight Championship. He says that it is but the first and we will be hearing from all five competitors who won last week over the course of the night. Lanny then tells us that the first of tonight's First Round matches is set to get underway and will be featuring that Ultimate Fighting Chump KAMA in his second match here at Eastern Championship Wrestling; and hey; maybe he'll actually win this one. "Mama gonna knock you out" by LL Cool J sounds as KAMA appears on the ramp and raises both hands into the air.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Las Vegas, Nevada weighing 330 lbs. "The Ultimate Fighting Champion" KAMA!
KAMA plods his way down to the ring where he climbs in with referee Teddy Long. Just then an annoying buzzing is heard.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent this evening from White Bear Lake, Minnesota weighing 235 lbs.; "Jumping" Jim Brunzell!Match: KAMA vs. Jim Brunzell KAMA has a tough time keeping up with Jim Brunzell at first and nearly finds himself pinned after a jumping leg lariat. When the Kaientai Theme hits however both Brunzell and Teddy Long are distracted as Mr. Fuji appears on the ramp with Yoshihiro Tajiri. Kama looks to see what is going on and when he turns back around it is just in tim to see TAKA Michinoku leap off the top turnbuckle and send Jim Brunzell floundering with a hurrancanrana. Seeing his chance KAMA catches Brunzell as he falls and hits the disoriented Bee with a scoop slam before making the pin.We then are taken to a pretaped segment where Big Bad John is standing by with "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho. Jericho says that Big Bad John winning his first round Tournament Match was just the first step in securing the Heavyweight Title for the next generation of wrestler. That it is time for a fresh face to step up and take the Gold from yesterday's heroes. Big Bad John then says that your dad and your grandpa ain't gonna be happy 'bout the outcome of this Tournament. Because the day's of your pappy's favorite wrestlers dominating this industry are over. Today belongs to the youth of America and who better to represent them than Big Bad John and Chris Jericho.Poffo thinks that Jericho and Big Bad John working together to secure themselves two places in the Tournament is "Pure Genius." Okerlund says that teamwork is all well and good up until a point. And that's when Chris Jericho and John end up on opposite sides of the ring. He says that only one person can win this Tournament and that those two clowns will have to face that reality sooner or later. He reminds us that before the break KAMA picked up the first Tournament win of the night and will move into the second round.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first from Tokyo, Japan weighing in at 190 lbs. and accompanied by Takako Inoue; he is Kaz Hayashi!
Hayashi helps Takako Inoue into the ring and ceremoniously bows to her before she leaves the ring. He and S.D. Jones wait as McGillicutty announces his opponent.
McGillutty: And introducing his opponent this evening weighing in at 231 lbs. from Montreal, Quebec, Canada; he is "The Rugged one" Ronnie Garvin!Match: Kaz Hayashi vs. Ronnie Garvin Kaz Hayashi keeps the veteran Ronnie Garvin on his toes and almost scores an upset with a victory roll that catches Garvin by surprise. In the end though Ronnie Garvin lays into Kaz Hayashi whoms he eliminates with The Garvin Stomp before making the pin. "Ravishing" Rick Rude then appears in a pre-taped segment where he tells ECW interviewer Michele Starr that in the past he's been guilty of losing his focus. Of letting outside forces; like women; get in the way of him acheiving his goal. His goal? To win the Eastern Heavyweight Championship. When Eastern Championship Wrestling returns to air Mean Gene reminds us that next week Eastern Championship Wrestling will be coming to us live from the Huntington Civic Center in Huntington, West Virgina. Lanny says West Virginia is too close to Canada for his liking. Gene then says if you can't be in Huntington or like Lanny just don't want to go; ECW can be caught right here on our home station of TNN The Nashville Network as always.
Lanny and Gene begin discussing the upcoming Tag-Team Match, mentioning how Mike Sharpe and Matt Borne haven't been on the same page of late when someone appears oon the ramp. It's Tommy Rich! Rich heads down to the ring dressed in street clothes and gets the microphone from Beulah.Tommy tells Beulah to stop acting like she don't know who he is. That everybody in the damned world knows who "Wildfire" Tommy Rich is. He then says to ask Jerry Lawler. He sure as hell knows. He says that he doesn't expect that punk Jerry Lawler to show up here tonight. That he was washed up back in Memphis years ago and doubts that's changed now. Now the thing... The Bill Conti Overture hits!Jerry Lawler emerges from the back. He tells Tommy that he knows who he is and to be his guest if he'd like to keep running his mouth. That that's all "Wildfire" Tommy Rich has ever been good at. Tommy Rich replies that that's kind of funny coming from a guy he once beat so bad not only his hair fell out; but he took to wearing dresses. He then says that's not good to dwell in the past. That Jerry Lawler has always had a knack for landing on his ass; which is how he got here at Eastern Championship Wrestling he's sure. So a while back Eric Bischoff he came to Tommy Rich. And he told Tommy that he really, really would love to have him in his promotion. That he'd be the headliner the second he arrived. Now sure "Wildfire" had heard similar offers from other promotions, the WWF, WCW, ACW, the NWA. But one thing kept coming to Rich's mind. And that was that in ECW he'd have a chance to beat the shit out of "The King" again. So last week he cost Lawler his shot at the Eastern Heavyweight Title. Just like he lost his hair back in '87. Now next week? Rich has his shot in this Title Tournament. And to make it even sweeter he gets to end the Title hopes of another Lawler then; Jerry's son Brian! That's right. Next week Tommy Rich one on one with Brian Lawler!
Jerry Lawler has had enough and storms down to the arena. As "The King" closes in Tommy Rich bolts from the ring and Lawler chases "Wildfire" around the ring before Rich escapes up the ramp with Jerry in hot pursuit. Mean Gene says that Tommy Rich had better hope Lawler doesn't get his hands on him or there won't be a match next week. The Canadian National Anthem then hits and Mike Sharpe appears on the ramp with Matt Borne.
The two men appear to be bickering over something and finally Borne snatches the Canadian flag Sharpe is waving and breaks it over his knee before storming off to the back.
McGillicutty: The following Tag-Team Match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first weighing a combined 525 lbs. they are the team of "Maniac" Matt Borne and Canada's Greatest Athlete "Iron" Mike Sharpe!
Gene comments on it looking like Sharpe is on his own as he enters the ring with Danny Davis and Poffo thanks him for once again stating the obvious. The Kaientai Theme then hits as Mr. Fuji leads his team down the ramp.
McGillicutty: And their challengers tonight from Tokyo, Japan weighing a combined 367 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by Mr. Fuji; they are Taka Michinoku and "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri; The New Orient Express!
Tag-Team Match: Sharpe & Borne vs. The New Orient Express
The New Orient Express use their speed to keep Mike Sharpe off-guard and keep themselves fresh with quick tags in and out. Sharpe does his best to hold his own; but he's on his own and after Tajiri fails to get the three count after hitting him with a handspring back elbow that he follows up with a moonsault off the top; he tags in Taka Michinoku who puts the still dazed Mike Sharpe away with the Michinoku Driver.
Mean Gene talk a little about the two on one Match we just witnessed when "Maniac" Matt Borne left his sometime tag-team partner "Iron" Mike Sharpe to face former Tag-Team Champions The New Orient Express alone. Okerlund suspects Sharpe is going to be looking for revenge against what is surely his former partner. They then discuss the upcoming Tournament Match between "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho and B. Brian Blair. They mention how Blair's partner in The Killer Bees "Jumping" Jim Brunzell came up short in his match earlier in the evening against "The Ultimate Fighting Champion" KAMA. An annoying buzzing is heard.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall; with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first from Gary, Indiana weighing 222 lbs.; he is one half of the Tag-Team Champions The Killer Bees; B. Brian Blair!
Blair appears on the ramp smug with the Tag-Team Title around his waist. He comes down to the ring and poses with the belt before handing it over to referee Teddy Long just as "Thunderkiss '65" by White Zombie hits. Chris Jericho explodes from the back. McGillicutty: And introducing his challenger from Manhasset, New York weighing 226 lbs.; he is "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho!
Match: B. Brian Blair vs. Chris Jericho
B. Brian Blair and Chris Jericho put on one hell of a show with lots of aerial moves and several nearfalls. Both men are looking tired when B. Brian Blair captures Jericho in the Boston Crab. He is unable to reach the ropes! Lifting his body off the mat however Chris manages to shift his weight and throw Blair backwards using his legs. Back on his own feet "The Loud-Mouth" locks in a Boston Crab of his own! Elevating the Boston Crab and applying more pressure to B. Brian Blair's back; Chris Jericho gets him to tap out; winning the match by Submission.
We're brought to a pretaped segment where RVD introduces himself as "Mr. Wedneday Night" Rob Van Dam. He tells us that he's been the Eastern States Champion since February 9th of this year; eight full months; and since obtaining the belt he's been a fighting Champion taking on any challenger that got in his way dude. And that's why in this Tournament he's going to prove he's the best of the best; and on December 1st 1994 at Wrestle Annual he will become the first ever compeitor in Eastern Championship history to hold not one; but two Titles. Because he's R... V... D. He points to his shoulders as we go to...
Lanny says that before the break they heard some strong words from the Eastern States Champion. Words Gene reminds us that Rob Van Dam has the skills and drive to back up. They then talk about the next match of the night; which is also the last Tournament Match we'll see tonight. They talk about Scott Taylor and Spike Hyson; and how both men have grown as competitors since coming under the tutelage of "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Devon Hughes respectively. "Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses fills the arena.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first accompanied to the ring by "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson; from Westbrook, Maine weighing 209 lbs. "The Superstar" Scott Taylor!
Arn seems to be giving Taylor some advice before he exits the ring. "Jailhouse Rock" by The Blues Brothers hits as Spike Hughes appears on the ramp.
McGillicutty: And introducing his opponent this evening from Providence, Rhode Island weighing 150 lbs.; Spike Hughes!
Match: Scott Taylor vs. Spike Hughes
From the start of the match both Scott Taylor and Spike Hughes show a marked improvement with their in-ring ability. The two men put on a solid match which Spike nearly wins following a roll-up on Taylor. The end comes with Scott Taylor goes up top and hits Spike with a diving DDT; earning the three count from referee S.D. Jones. After the match Arn Anderson and Scott celebrate in the ring.
We're then taken to a pre-taped segment where "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson tells us that he's been close before. Close to taking the Eastern Heavyweight Championship from that clown "Macho Man" Randy Savage. But this time close isn't enough. Ol' AA plans to battle his way through every opponent who steps in that squared circle with him and on December 1st not only will he defeat his opponent in the number one contender match; but he will also put Savage down for the 1-2-3 and walk out of the Garden the Eastern Heavyweight Champion.
Mean Gene and Lanny thank us for joining us for tonight's Main Event. Okerlund reminds us that Mongo Vyle had the Champ "Macho Man" Randy Savage beat dead to rights back on April 6th; but Savage used a handful of tights to steal a win. He says that Vyle has been chomping at the bit to get a rematch every since. Poffo discredits "The Machiavellan Mauler" saying that the only reason Mongo could stand toe to toe with Savage back then was because the Champ was still feeling his injuries from his epic Steel Cage Title defense against "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Which he proved on the following week's show when he threw Vyle effortlessly off the stage. Only after hitting him in the head with the Heavyweight Title Gene notes. Lanny says he doesn't recall this and accuses Gene of making things up. Okerlund says he's sure Mongo Vyle hasn't forgotten about it even if "The Genius" has and has had alot of time to stew over it these past four months. "Fucking Hostile" by Pantera blares through the arena as Mong Vyle emerges onto the ramp with his hands up in the air.
McGillicutty: The following non-Title Match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Hell's Kitchen, New York weighing in at 326 lbs. "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle!
Vyle paces around the ring making referee Danny Davis nervous. Mongo is a big guy. "Pomp and Circumstance" then plays as "Macho Man" Randy Savage emerges from the back with the ECW Title around his waist. Debbie Combs as usual is beside him.
McGillicutty: And his opponent this evening accompanied to the ring by Debbie Combs from Sarasota, Florida weighing 239 lbs.; he is the Eastern Heavyweight Champion; the "Macho Man" Randy Savage!
Main Event: Mongo Vyle vs. Randy Savage
Mongo Vyle and Randy Savage lock up as Davis starts the match. Vyle immediately takes the offensive and pushes Savage back before laying into him with hard rights and lefts. Randy is caught offguard and driven back into the ropes where Mongo whips him across the ring and nails him with a big boot laying him out. Keeping on top of the Champ Mongo lifts him up to one knee; but Savage slaps out. He nails Vyle with an uppercut before heading back into the ropes, using them for momentum to take "The Mauler" down hard with a running clothesline. Both men hit the canvas. Randy crawls out of the ring to catch his breath on the outside while inside Mongo Vyle is back on his feet. Savage doesn't see this and Mongo reaches over the top rope and grabs Randy by the hair attempting to pull him up into the ring. "Macho Man" screams in pain and reaching up grabs Vyle by the head causing the big man to lose his balance plummeting out of the ring. With Vyle on the floor Randy put the boots before him befor climbing up on the apron. He waits for his prey to get back to his feet before leaping off and connecting with the diving double axe handle. Vyle falls against the guardrails and taking advantage Savage slams Mongo's face into the steel. When he attemps it again Vyle connects with an elbow to Randy's face before smashing the Champ into the same railing. Inside the ring Davis has counted to six and seeing the danger he's in Mongo hoists Savage over his head and gorilla presses him into the ring stunning the crowd with his strength. He then climbs back in. "Macho Man" is somewhat recovered however and stumbling to his feet hits a diving shoulder block taking "Th Machiavellan Mauler's" knee out from under him. Vyle is down on one knee when Savage leaps up into the air and plants Mongo face first into the canvas with a jumping leg lariat. He goes for the cover; but Vyle gets his foot up on the bottom rope at two. Grabbing his opponent by the arms Randy attempts to drag him to no avail and when he persists Mongo kicks him in the head. As Randy reels from the kick Mongo gets back onto his feet and grabs the Champ before nailing him with a sitout full nelson atomic drop! It's over! 1! 2!... Savage kicks out! 3! Randy just kicks out and still looks out of it when Mongo lifts him and begins hammering the Champ's head and back. He goes for a second powerbomb; but halfway through Randy grabs his head holding himself on the big man's shoulders! While seated on Mongo's shoulders he begins pounding him in the head as Vyle stumbles about; finally falling into a corner. There Randy continues to pound on him until Davis delivers the five count. Leaping down into the ring; Savage charges "The Mauler" connecting with a high knee smash! Then grabbing his dazed opponent by the head he hits Mongo with a running bulldog planting him in the center of the ring. The crowd comes alive as Randy points to the corner. He's going up top! Mounting the turnbuckles Randy turns only to see Mongo Vyle is back on his feet!! He leaps anyway; connecting with a flying crossbody press on his dazed opponent! 1! 2!...3! Savage has won it!
Lights Fade.

10/26/94 - Huntington Civic Center Huntington, WVMean Gene Okerlund welcomes us to the Huntington Civic Center for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling. He then introduces us to his usual partner his crime "The Genius" Lanny Poffo. Lanny denies being Gene's partner in anything; particularly crime. According to him having Okerlund as an accomplic will leave you wearing alot of prison greys. The two men then run down the night's matches; informing us that we will see the final six First Round Tournament matches to determine the number one contender for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship at ECW's first ever Pay Per View; the ECW Wrestle Annual.
Lanny says that last week we heard from Arn Anderson, Brickhouse Brown, Big Bad John, Rick Rude; and Rob Van Dam; five men who won their First Round Qualifying match on the first week of the Tournament. Tonight we will here from Scott Taylor, KAMA, Chris Jericho; and Ronnie Garvin; the four men who qualified last week. He and Mean Gene then tell us in addition to those six Tournament Matches in tonight's Main Event we will witness a number one contender's Match for the Tag-Team Titles between The New Orient Express and Destruction Inc. Two former Tag-Team Champs. One of which will face our new Champions The Killer Bees at a date to be determined.
"Jailhouse Rock" by The Blues Brothers then hits as Devon appears on the ramp and yells "Testify!" Beulah McGillicutty then makes the intros for the first match of the night.McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first from New Rochelle, New York weighing in at 280 lbs.; Devon Hughes!
Devon heads down to the ring and slides in with S.D. Jones where he waits until "Fuckin' Hostile" by Pantera hits. Mong Vyle storms down to the ring.
McGillicutty: And his opponent this evening from Hell's Kitchen, New York weighing 326 lbs.; his is "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle!Match: Devon Hughes vs. Mongo Vyle This isn't no technical match. From the bell Devon Hughes and Mong Vyle brutalize one another about the ring; Vyle getting a nearfall after stunning Hughes with a bionic elbow and then nailing him with a scoop slam. "The Machiavllan Mauler" isn't on his game tonight however. He's obviously still sore from his match with Savage the week before and this gives Devon Hughes the edge he needs. After hitting a DDT that gets him a two count Devon dominates the match; finally putting Vyle away for the three count with a diving headbutt from the top. "Testify!"We're then taken to a pre-taped clip where KAMA tells us that he cut his teeth fighting the baddest of the bad in UFC where he earned he became "The Ultimate Fighting Champion." His debut here at Eastern Championship was bumpy sure. There're definitely some tough hombres here. But as KAMA proved last week; he can hang with the best of them. And that's his goal to be the best; and on December 21st at Wrestle Annual he'll prove it by defeating "Macho Man" Randy Savage to become Eastern Heavyweight Champion. When ECW returns Mean Gene says before the break we heard some bold words from newcomer to Eastern Championship; "The Ultimate Fighting Champion" KAMA. Delusional words if you ask Lanny. Which we didn't Gene assures. Poff then says that Devon stole the first round match; capitalizing on the fact Mongo Vyle was still stiff from his defeat at the hands of the "Macho Man." Gene says that's the way the game is played.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall; with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first from Detroit, Michigan weighing 270 lbs.; he is "The Man-Beast" Rhino!
Rhino heads down to the ring as "Fucking Hostile" by Pantera plays for the second time tonight. He enters the ring with Danny Davis as The Kaientai Theme hits. Yoshihiro Tajiri stalks his way to the ring followed by Mr. Fuji.
McGillicutty: And his opponent hailing from Tokyo, Japan and accompanied to the ring by "The Diabolical One" Mr. Duji; weighing 180 lbs. he is "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri!Match: Rhino vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri Yoshihiro Tajiri dominates a good portion of the match and gets several near-falls on his slower opponent Rhino. "The Man-Beast is no slouch however and when he gets his hands on Tajiri he puts a hurting on him; making the cover after a back body drop and later a running sitout powerslam. The latter of which Tajiri just kicks out of. "The Japanese Buzzsaw" is back in control punsihing Rhino with the illegal Tarantula hold when he makes a mistake and instead of going for The Shining Wizard while Rhino recover, he hesitates and instead heads back into the ropes to build momentum. We never figure out what move he is attempting as Rhino springs to his feet and cuts Yoshihiro Tajiri in half with The Gore before making the cover and picking up the win. We're then taken to a pretaped segment with "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin. He tells us that as of late he's been preoccupied by a certain "Loud-Mouth." But that Mr. Bischoff gave everyone on the roster this chance to show their stuff, test their mettle; and prove they have what it takes to be a Champion. Now "The Rugged One" has been a Champion before. Held the same belt that that Bret Hart fellow holds right now. And you can bet your ass that in five weeks he's going to show the world that he's still got it when Ronnie Garvin defeats "Macho Man" Randy Savage for the ECW Title. When Eastern Championship returns Mean Gene and Lanny discuss Rhino's big win over Yoshihiro Tajiri. Okerlund then says that Garvin is a favorite of his to win this Tournament. Lanny however agrees with Jericho that "The Rugged One" is a has-been. Gene isn't surprised Poffo would agree with that grinning buffoon.
"Rock You Like a Hurricane" by The Scorpions hits as Buck Zumhoff boogies his way out onto the ramp with his boombox in hand. Gene says that it's been a while since we've seen Zumhoff here in action. Lanny says that's because Buck thinks he's too good for them having his own show and all.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall with the winner moving on. Introducing first from Hamburg, Minnesota weighing 220 lbs.; he is "The Rock 'N Roller" Buck Zumhoff!
The kids in the audience and some of the women (the blind ones according to Lanny) go crazy when Buck appears and he easily gets the biggest pop of the night. Inside the ring he shakes hands with Teddy Long whom he gets to dance with him for a bit before "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen sounds. The Junkyard Dog appears on the ramp and barks at the fans while rattling the chain around his neck.Match: Buck Zumhoff vs. Junkyard Dog Buck Zumhoff and Junkyard Dog shake hands before the match begins. The two men put on a good clean bout which has the older fans cheering for JYD and the kids rallying behind Buck. Zumhoff looks like he's in trouble after The Dog hits him with a headbutt and throws him over his shoulder; but "Rock 'N Roll" slides out behind him and pushes Junkyard forward into the ropes. When the Junk Yard Dog comes back swinging; Buck Zumhoff jumps over him connecting with a beautiful sunset flip which gets him the three count. As Eastern Championship returns we're taken to the office of ECW President Eric Bischoff. He's straightening up some papers which he picks up before heading out of his office. When he opens the door however he encounters the visage of Papa Shango!Eric turns white as the witch doctor cackles maniacally. He attempts to quickly shut the door; but Shango stops him. He then tells Eric to calm down. It isn't really "The Soul Stealer." It's Teddy Long. He's dressed as Papa Shango for Halloween! Long finds it funny that he scared Bischoff and claps him on the back. Eric isn't nearly as amused. He says that he does know something that WOULD be funny however. And that's Teddy Long's ass sitting on the unemployment line. He then tells Teddy Long "You're fired!" before slamming the door in the referee's stunned face. Eric is busy picking up papers when the camera cuts back to ringside.
Lanny finds the whole situation amusing including Long being fired. Okerlund doesn't think there's anything funny about a man losing his job and hopes Eric reconsiders his decision. They then discuss the upcoming Tournamant Match between Brian Lawler and "Wildfire" Tommy Rich. They talk about the bad blood between Rich and Brian's father Jerry "The King" Lawler over the years before getting to "Wildfire's" debut here at ECW where he rekindled that rivalry. And how last week he said he was going to put an end to Brian Lawler's Title hopes as well; just like he did to his father to weeks ago.
The Bill Conti Overture then hits as Brian Lawler steps out onto the ramp. After several seconds Jerry Lawler joins him! Okerlund and Lanny agree that this can't lead to anything good.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall; with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first accompanied by his father Jerry "The King" Lawler; from Memphis, Tennessee weighing 213 lbs.; Brian Lawler!
The Lawlers enter the ring with S.D. Jones and shake hands with the ref. The fans still aren't really happy with them and Jerry waves at them dismissively. Tommy Rich then takes to the stage as "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" by 38 Special plays and Okerlund mentions that this is Rich's in-ring debut here at ECW.
McGillicutty: And his opponent from Hendersonville, Tennessee weighing 248 lbs.; he is "Wildfire" Tommy Rich!Match: Brian Lawler vs. Tommy Rich Entering the ring Tommy Rich wins the lockup; whipping Brian Lawler into the ropes where he batters on him from behind. Grabbing Lawler by the head, Rich looks over at Jerry Lawler before chucking him out of the ring in his direction. He then gloats to the crowd as Jerry jumps up onto the ring and argues with the ref. Back on his feet Brian slides into the ring and catches Rich off-guard with several punches before scooping him up and slamming him down to the mat. Tommy is back up on his knees and begging for reprieve; but the younger Lawler begins hammering on "Widfire" whom he lifts up to his feet and whips into the ropes. On the rebound however Tommy cuts Brian down with a huge chop to the chest. Tommy struts around a bit before getting down on the floor and hammers on Brian's skull. When Jones stops the assault; Rich pulls Brian to his feet and whips him into the corner so hard he tumbles over the top turnbuckle and spills down to the floor below. On the outside Jerry checks on his son until Rich joins them on the outside and grabbing Brian by the head slams it into Jerry's; dazing both men. Tommy works Brian over slamming his head into the ringpost before rolling his opponent back into the ring. Back inside himself "Wildfire" hammers on Brian as he gets back to his feet and whipping the young man across the ring hits a back body drop before going up top. He hits Jerry's own flying fist drop on Brian! As he makes the cover an irate Jerry gets up on the apron again. S.D. Jones orders "The King" off the ropes before making the count. 1!...2!... Brian kicks out! On the outside Jerry looks relieved until Rich picks Brian up and hits a swinging neckbreaker. He makes the cover again. 1!...2!... Brian kicks out! Rich looks frustrated and picks Lawler up nonchalantly kicking him into the corner before grabbing him and locking him in an abdominal stretch. Brian howls in pain as Tommy occasionally elbows him in the ribs. Brian doesn't tap though and manages to hiptoss Rich to the mat. He goes for an elbow drop; but Rich sits up getting out of the way. The fans are behind Rich as he makes the cover getting another two count. Lifting Brian to his feet Tommy attempts to whip him, but Lawler reverses it sending Rich into the corner. Keeping on Tommy Brian locks in a sleeper hold. Tommy fights it though and running into the turnbuckle breaks it. While Tommy is still dazed Brian Lawler hits him with a clothesline before going up top. He leaps off and connects with the Tennessee Jam diving guillotine legdrop on Rich! He makes the cover but S.D. Jones is distracted by a disturbance on the outside! It's a masked man who has just laid Jerry Lawler out with a steel chair! As the mystery man disappears into the crowd Jones is quick to make the count; but Rich kicks out at one. Brian keeps on top of his opponent hammering on Rich as he gets up on one knee. "Wildfire" slaps him away however and getting to his feet he begins pummeling Brian across the ring; finally lifting him up into the air and nailing Lawler with a sitout suplex slam! Hooking Brian Lawler's leg Tommy Rich gets the pin! When we come back from break Eric Bischoff is strolling through the back and happens upon Tiffany who is dressed like a sexy Miss Muffet. She says hi to Eric and he looks stunned. She asks if he likes her costume and he says he definitely does with a lecherous glare in his eye. She asks him about a Title shot for the Women's Championship and he tells her to stop by his office later and they'll discuss it.
He then turns and under his breath he says maybe Halloween is good for something after all. As he continues walking he comes across Rob Van Dam who is in shorts and wearing a stocking cap with long blonde hair. He is smoking something. Is it marijuana?! Steve Blackman is standing beside him wearing a backwards baseball cap and a trenchcoat. Eric asks them what the hell they're supposed to be?Steven Richards enters the frame. He's wearing a long haired wig, a jean shirt tied into a belly shirt and a pair of daisy dukes. He asks Bischoff if he's been living under a rock or something? RVD is Jay and Blackman is Silent Bob of course! Steve nods that this is correct. Bischoff then notices what Richards is wearing and looks him up and down stunned. He asks him what the hell he's supposed to be then? Steven says he's Daisy Du-- Bischoff cuts him off and tells him to forget it. He doesn't even wanna knows. He walks off grumbling about damned Halloween.
We then cut back to ringside where Lanny gives Tiffany's outfit one very big thumb up. Okerlund says that had better not be a euphemism. Poffo pleads the fifth. They then discuss the Tournament Matches we've witnessed thus far. They remind us that so far Devon Hughes, Rhino, Tommy Rich; and "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff have qualified.
McGillicutty: The following Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Waxahachie, Texas weighing 277 lbs.he calls himself "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch!
Dick Murdoch waves his cowboy hat to the crowd as "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen plays. He comes down to the ring and climbs inside with Danny Davis. They wait until metal music plays and Matt Borne shows up on the ramp.
McGilicutty: And introducing his opponent this evening from Elwood City, Pennsylvania weighing 243 lbs; he is the "Maniac" Matt Borne!Match: Dick Murdoch vs. Matt Borne Old Dick Murdoch plays alot of defense in this match but he holds his own against a fired up Matt Borne. Angered when Murdoch doesn't stay down following his third pin attempt; Borne drags "Captain Redneck" over to the ropes and stepping on the back of his neck chokes him out on the bottom rope. Davis attempts to stop him; but is interupted when the Canadian National Anthem is heard. Both men look up and see Canada's Greatest Athlete "Iron" Mike Sharpe up on the ramp. He is holding the Canadian Flag and singing his heart out! Livid Borne has taken his foot off of Dick Murdoch who has recovered enough to schoolboy Matt Borne! 1!...2!...3! Murdoch has won it! He hightails it out of the ring too as a confused Borne realizes what just happened. He screams to Sharpe that he's dead. Still singing; Mike Sharpe simply salutes him. We're then taken to a pre-taped segment where "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" tells us that this is the moment his millions.... AND MILLIONS fans have have been waiting for. A chance for Chris Jericho to fulfill his destiny and become the Eastern Heavyweight Champion! He tells us to be there on December 1st to witness the birth of this generation's true undisputed Champion. It's only $14.95 after all. When we return from break Mean Gene and Lanny Poffo discuss how Matt Borne was defeated by Dick Murdoch in his first round Tournament Match; in large part due to the actions of "Iron" Mike Sharpe. Lanny says he spits in the general direction of any Canadians. Okerlund reminds us that he hates Christ Jericho. And then they tell us how the next Match will be the final match in the Tournament's first round. According to Lanny they didn't save the best for last. Someone notify Vanessa Williams. Irish Folk music plays as Erin O'Grady makes his way down to the ring tossing gold coins from his cauldron. Some are still thrown back. ECW's fans aren't a forgiving lot.
McGillicutty: This final first round Tournament Match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Dublin, Ireland weighing 212 lbs.; he is "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady!
O'Grady hops into the ring with referee S.D. Jones when Steve Blackman's intro starts. He has his Kendo Sticks in hand and puts on a martial arts display before coming down to the ring.
McGillicutty: And his opponent this evening from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania weighing 246 lbs.; he is "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman!Match: Steve Blackman vs. Erin O'Grady Steve Blackman and Erin O'Grady are pretty evenly matched; with Blackman making the effort to match the speed of his quicker opponent. Steve gets a close fall early on hitting a fisherman's suplex and later on Erin almost taps to the guillotine choke but just manages to get to the ropes. Crash nearly turns out Blackman's lights after a flowing snap DDT, gets a two count with a schoolboy; and another nearfall with a springboard moonsault off the second rope. The ends comes however when Erin O'Grady lays Steve Blackman out hard with his Lucky Charm (lifting double underhook implant DDT) and hooks the leg for the win from Jones. After the match O'Grady places a gold coin on each of the unconscious Blackman's eyes. And contrary to what "The Genius" had to say; it was the best Match of the night. We're then taken to another pre-taped message. This one from "The Superstar" Scott Taylor. The young competitor from Westbrook, Maine says that he's out to rock this Tournament down. He says while he's certainly an underdog in this competition; he's been training hard with his mentor; "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. And he's going to give it his all to make ol' AA proud by bringing home the Championship Gold.Mean Gene welcomes us back from the break and thanks us for joining them for another night of exciting Eastern Championship action right here on our home station of TNN The Nashville Network. He then reminds us that next week ECW will be coming to us live from the West Virginia University Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virgina. Okerlund and Lanny then hype tonight's Main Event in which The New Orient Express will face Destruction Inc.; the winning team becoming the number one contender's for the Eastern Tag-Team Championship. Okerlund tells us how this Match was actually the idea of the current Tag-Team Champs The Killer Bees. Lanny finds this to be a brilliant tactical move and when Gene asks him to explain; he says it's quite simple. So of course it has to be explained to Mean Gene and the folks at home in West Virginia too of course. He then tells us that both teams were at the Bees' throats and by having this Match tonight; they'd be eliminating one of those tandems for at least the for the moment. Okerlund says he can see a certain strategy to this. A sneaky and underhanded one to be sure. He then wonders if either team will be on the top of their game tonight considering that three of the men had Tournament Matches earlier in the evning; with Taka Michinoku being the only fresh competitor.
McGillicutty: The following Tag-Team contest is scheduled for one fall and is to determine the number one contender for the Tag-Team Championship. Introducing first hailing from Tokyo, Japan weighing a combined 367 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by Mr. Fuji; they are the team of Taka Michinoku and "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri; The New Orient Express!
Fuji leads his team down to the ring where Tajiri and Michinoku pose for the crowd while Fuji talks to Danny Davis. "Fucking Hostile" by Pantera sounds for the third time in one night as Destruction Inc. appear on the ramp arms raised in the air.
McGillicutty: And introducing their opponents this evening weighing a combined 596 lbs. the team of Destruction Inc.; "The Man-Beast" Rhino and "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle!Main Event: The New Orient Express vs. Destruction Inc. Yoshihiro Tajiri starts things off with Rhino and "The Japanese Buzzsaw" tears into "The Man-Beast" with a barrage of kicks. It's obvious that The Express has a score to settle with the team that took their Titles back in July and both Taka and Yoshihiro use quick tags to keep a frustrated Rhino in their corner. Things look all but done when Michinoku manages to steady himself as he holds the much bigger Rhino up for the Michinoku Driver II while Tajiri goes up top and connects with a dropkick to Rhino's back before Taka proceeds to go for the pin. Mongo Vyle however makes the save with a diving forearm smash before clearing the ring of The Express. This gives a weary Rhino more than enough time to tag his partner in. Mongo dominates Taka for a while hitting him with several clothelines, slams; and a barrage of punches before Michinoku surprises the big man with a hurrancanrana which he counters a powerbomb with. Making the hot tag to Yoshihiro Tajiri; the "Japanese Buzzsaw" goes on the offense immediately hitting a Tiger Feint kick on Vyle who is leaning on the second rope; which he then follows up with a springboard moonsault. Despite pulling out some of his best offense however, Tajiri fails to keep Mongo down and eventually "The Machiavellan Mauler" mounts an comback. He chops Yoshihiro across the ring and attempts a cover after a scoop slam; but Tajiri kicks out at two. Angered he lifts Tajiri and Irish whips him so hard that he spills out to the floor over the ropes. On the outside Rhino grabs Tajiri and begins battering on him; smashing his face into the apron. He then attempts to choke "The Buzzsaw" out by lifting his smaller opponent up into the air by his neck with both hands. As Tajiri struggles to free himself Taka Michinoku comes from behind and uses the steel steps as a springboard for a flying knee into Rhino's back. "The Man-Beast" drops Tajiri to the ground and as Davis counts 8 with a struggle Yoshihiro climbs up onto the apron. Much to the ref's chagrin so has Mr. Fuji! While Davis orders Fuji down Mongo Vyle plods over to a weay Tajiri who is still standing on the apron and grabs him by the head. Yoshihiro gives him a face full of mist! Davis doesn't see it! It's obvious Yoshihiro Tajiri has been playing opossum a little as Yoshihiro Tajiri springs up onto the top rope and grabbing Mongo Vyle in mid-air hits a springboard bulldog! Danny rushes to make the count and The Express picks up the win!
After the match we're once again taken backstage where Eric Bischoff is returning to his office whistling. A man in an expensive red suit walks by him.
When he opens the door his eyes go buggy and he mutters the words "oh shit." The camera pans to the room and on the floor still dressed as Papa Shango; Teddy Long lies motionless bloody and battered.
As we hear Bischoff scream for a medic; the camera moves up the wall. There written in blood are three words. "Papa Shango lives!"
Lights Fade.
