• WCW World Heavyweight Champion “Nature Boy” Ric Flair gives an interview to Michael Hayes, where he boasts about Ted Dibiase’s money not being enough to buy the title. Flair says the gold is back where it belongs and he’s now looking forward to moving forward with his title reign. At this point, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase and his bodyguard Virgil make their way down to the ring. Dibiase says he wants a rematch and he believes he’s earned one. Flair turns him down, saying that he’s spent enough time on Dibiase in recent. He’s got no reason to grant Ted another match. Dibiase says if it’s a reason Flair needs, it’s a reason he’ll get. The Million Dollar Man offers to put $1-million on the line if he can’t defeat Ric Flair in a rematch at Halloween Havoc. Flair seems intrigued and says he’ll think about it…
• WCW Commissioner JJ Dillon talks to Michael Hayes about the WCW World TV Title situation. Dillon asks Davey Boy Smith to come down, which Bulldog does. JJ says he can’t recognize Davey as the World TV Champion, but he’s realized that this whole feud between he, Lord Steven Regal and Fit Finlay has to come to an end. Dillon says at the Clash of the Champions on September 30, he’s signing another Triangle Match, with a new proviso. The winner of the fall becomes World Television Champion, but the loser of the fall has to leave the WCW forever. Bulldog says he likes the idea and hands over the title to Dillon, but says JJ is only holding on to it temporarily…
• The Hellraisers (Road Warrior Hawk & Power Warrior) are in the middle of a match with their enemies Buddy Landell and Bunkhouse Buck of the Stud Stable, when Col. Power Warrior tries to make the save, but he’s attacked by Landell and Buck. At this point, “Precious” Paul Ellering runs back to the dressing room and soon emerges again with… Road Warrior Animal! Animal hasn’t been seen since being injured in June. Animal hits the ring and connects with a big clothesline, which rocks Meng. Power Warrior fights back on the Studs as well, eventually clotheslining Landell to the floor. Animal hits a big shoulder-block on Buck, knocking him out of he ring. Now, Hawk, Animal and Power Warrior take turns hammering on Meng, who refuses to back down and never leaves his feet. Finally, Buck and Landell pull Meng out to the floor, while the reunited Legion of Doom and Power Warrior stand tall in the ring…

• Mean Gene Okerlund interviews WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair, who has answer for Ted Dibiase’s offer to put $1-million on the line for one more rematch at WCW Halloween Havoc. Ted Dibiase and Virgil make their way down to the ring, with Dibiae having a big smile on his face. Flair says he’s thought long and hard about Dibiase’s “indecent propsal” - $1-million is quite a lot of money. Flair says he’s reached a decision and that decision is – no! Flair has his own money and isn’t in need of a quick buck. Dibiase is shocked and appears to be furious, until Flair says he has a counter-offer. Ric says if Dibiase wants a match this badly, then he’ll put something greater on the line. Flair says he’ll agree to one more match if Dibiase puts his career on the line – meaning if Ted loses, he has to retire and can never wrestle another match in WCW or anywhere else. Dibiase is clearly taken aback, but Virgil whispers something in his ear. After a moment, a stunned Million Dollar Man nods his head and says he’ll take the match. He then ducks out of the ring with Virgil, clearly stunned by what he’s just agreed to do. Flair goes on with his boasting saying he’ll go down in history as the man who retired Ted Dibiase…
• JJ Dillon announces that Dustin Rhodes will defend his WCW US Heavyweight Title at Halloween Havoc against Shawn Michaels. He brings out both men for a contract signing, with HBK accompanied by Virgil and Dustin joined by his father Dusty. Shawn boasts that he’s going to win the US Title and then take that big leap right to the WCW World Heavyweight Title, no matter who holds the belt. After the two sign the contract, Taz and Bill Alphonso make their way out. Taz wants to know why “the big fat whale” Dusty Rhodes hasn’t acknowledged any of his challenges. Dillon tries to calm things down, but Taz gets right in Dusty’s face and asks if he still considers himself a man. That’s about all Dusty can stand and he responds with a Bionic Elbow to Taz’s forehead, causing a huge brawl to break out. A dozen wrestlers and security guards have are on the scene to break things up…
• Col. Parker is none to pleased about last week’s Legion of Doom reunion and he wants his men to take them out. He proposes a match for the Clash of the Champions between the LOD and his team of Bunkhouse Buck and Buddy Landell – plus he challenges “Power Warrior” Kensuke Sasake to face Meng. Parker says he’s spent a lot of money of putting together this Stud Stable and it’s time for them to take care of business...
• We get three taped promos from the principles in the Triangle Match for the WCW World Television Title. Lord Steven Regal says he’s been robbed once again he will not let his pride be damaged any further, especially by little toe-rags like Finlay and Smith. • “Mr. Wall Street” Mike Rotunda is in the middle of an interview with Michael Hayes, when he gets upset by Ken Shamrock passing by on his way to the dressing room. Rotunda says he’s heard that they call Shamrock the “World’s Most Dangerous Man”, but that doesn’t scare him. Shamrock challenges Rotunda to face him at the Clash, which Mr. Wall Street accepts. Rotunda says he’s going to teach Shamrock that he can’t rule wrestling like he did in the UFC garbage…

• The show opened up with our two cruiserweight semi-final matches. In the first bout, Jushin “Thunder” Liger pinned “Latin Lothario” Hector Garza after landing the Liger Press. The two men started off the show with a fast-paced opener, with Garza nearly scoring the win after hooking Liger into a sit-out powerbomb. However, Liger fought back and landed his signature top rope press to score the win. In the other semi-final match, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton lost a hard-fought match to “The Ice Man” Dean Malenko. The end came when Eaton missed the Alabama Jam off the top rope. Malenko quickly capitalized by applying the Texas Cloverleaf to score the pin. • “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase holds a public meeting with his Corporation members “Mr. Wall Street” Mike Rotunda, Shawn Michaels, The Taylor Made Man and Virgil. Dibiase says he wants to make the state of things very clear – his wrestling career is on the line. So he wants each of them to be focused on making sure he wins the WCW Heavyweight Title at Halloween Havoc. Rotunda, Taylor and Virgil all nod their heads, but Shawn Michaels is just snickering. Dibiase asks what’s up. Shawn answers that he’ll do what he can to make sure Dibiase wins because that’s best for everyone, but he’s top focus is on winning the US Heavyweight title and then coming for the WCW Heavyweight Title, no matter who holds. Dibiase tells Shawn that he’ll be happy to give him a match once he wins the belt to ensure the title stays in the family, but they need to GET IT back into the family first. No real resolution is reached as Shawn Michaels playacts Dibiase and then leaves the ring…

Also, the WCW Cruiserweight Title will be decided as Jushin Liger faces Dean Malenko. In the Triangle Match for the WCW World TV Title, The British Bulldog, Lord Steven Regal and Fit Finlay square off, with the loser of the fall leaving WCW. Mr. Wall Street will go up against Ken Shamrock and Meng faces Kensuke Saske. “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes interrupts and asks Taz and Bill Alphonso to show up at the Clash because he’s got an answer for them. Dusty says he’s leaving and when he comes back next week at the Clash, he just might be ready for a fight…
• In the main event, WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Dustin Rhodes pins The Taylor Made Man after a lariat. As he’s celebrating after the match, Shawn Michael sneaks into the ring.
