Larry: “FROM THE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA, AND BROADCASTING ACROSS THE SEVEN CONTINENTS, IT’S THE LARGEST INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED ORGANIZATION IN WRESTLING, THE IWA, and fans THIS is IWA ALL-STAR ’85 WRESTLING, I’m Larry Matysik, and with me is one of the all-time greats, Frank Dusek!
“Frank, so much going on where do we begin?
Frank: “Larry Matysik, I want every wrestling fan watching this now to FORGET everything they remember about wrestling in California over the past few years, it all changes TODAY. The IWA is HERE, and the face of professional wrestling will NEVER be the same, this point forward!
Larry: “Indeed right you are Frank Dusek, as a matter of fact the PRESIDENT OF THE IWA, Dutch Savage will join us momentarily with some announcements fans, these are announcements you will ALL be talking about at the water cooler Monday morning. But for now, let’s give the fans what they want: GREAT WRESTLING. Let’s go to the ring with Don Coss for the first match of the hour!

Larry: “Fans, as we await IWA President Dutch Savage, we received word just hours before this broadcast that we have a NEW IWA UNDISPUTED WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, word we have is that after over 10 years holding the belt, the Man of 1000 Masks, Mil Mascaras dropped that title while on a tour of Africa. Now the problem, Frank Dusek, is the IWA Undisputed World heavyweight Championship is defended ALL over the planet, and sometimes these matches take place in areas where communication is not the best, so the odd thing is . . .we CURRENTLY do NOT know who our new champion is!
Frank: “It’s one of those things, Larry. On that tour of Africa I know Mil defended the title against the Nigerian Heavyweight Champion Power Uti, Gama of India, Jan Wilkens of South Africa, Abdullah the Butcher in Khartoum and former WWF champion Pedro Morales in a match in Luanda, Angola. Any one of those men or another we don’t know about could be the new IWA World heavyweight Champion; we are waiting for news from the AP or UPI for that announcement.

Larry: “Ladies and gentlemen, here on ALL –STAR ’85 WRESTLING, Eddie Gilbert and his entourage, JESSE BARR . . . RICK STEINER . . . and I see MEAN MIKE is with you as well . . . . I have no idea who this lady is . . . . excuse me, Eddie, but I don’t see you on my interview list for this week . . .
Eddie: “JAH, JAH, JAH, MIIIIIISTER LARRY MATYSIK! But your big time Hollywood producer doesn’t produce this program, I DO!!! And I hate to take the wind
out of Dutch Savage’s sails, but the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT is gonna be made by ME!

Dutch: “Mr. Gilbert, I appreciate your help, if you think you are a television producer, good luck, BUT I AM the PRESIDENT and as IWA PRESIDENT I WILL MAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENT:
“THE IWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL BE DETERMINED in a 8 team tournament, with the final match to be held at A Night of Champions, right here at the Olympic Auditorium on Sunday night, June 22nd!
“The first quarterfinal match will be . . . .SHANE DOUGLAS and MARK YOUNGBLOOD as they face, RICK STEINER AND JESSE BARR!!!
Eddie: “Ha ha, Shane Douglas and Mark Youngblood are rookies!!!!

Eddie: “Yea . . .I . . but .. .THIS IS BULL!! THIS IS A SET UP!
DUTCH SAVAGE STANDS UP AND TOWERS OVER EDDIE GILBERT, AND RIPS OFF HIS Reading lasses!

Eddie: “WHY THAT BIG JERK! HE CANT TALK TO ME LIKE THAT! Tell you what Larry Matysik, Rick and Jesse here will be READY! But just to send a message who is boss around here, I want an opponent for Mean Mike, RIGHT NOW!
There is chaos as Larry Matysik doesn’t know what to do, but ref Luke Brown enters the ring with wrestler Brett Sawyer, Mean Mike with the entire Gilbert gang around ringside enters the ring, the bell rings and we have a match!
MEAN MIKE w/Eddie Gilbert & Jesse Barr & Rick Steiner and Eddie’s girlfriend v BRETT SAWYER
Sawyer gives Mean Mike a tough match, but outside interference costs Sawyer as Mean Mike wins at 8:11. After the match, GILBERT, STEINER AND BARR JOIN MEAN MIKE IN PUTTING THE BOOTS TO SAWYER, UNTIL ALL THE REFS ENTER THE RING AND ORDER THEM OUT!

Dutch: “No need for an apology Larry Matysik. Trust me as a wrestler I’ve dealt with bullies and gangs like Eddie’s for decades, and there will always be bullies and gangs in wrestling, and I will deal with them as President of the IWA.
“I didn’t come out here to take up the whole show, so let me be quick: we plan to know who the new IWA Undisputed World champion is by next week’s All-Star ’85 Wrestling. As for the World Tag Team Championships we will have our first match today. Here are the other 6 tag teams:

When you think of the world ‘International’ you don’t think of a falling super power like America, you think of the superior culture and world domination of the British Empire, and whenever it happens, I Les Thornton will take great pleasure in relieving the champion, whoever it may be of that title, and presenting to the Queen.
Larry: “OK then. Championship belts are on EVERYONE’S mind, ladies and gentlemen; with that in mind let’s go to the ring!

QUARTERFINAL MATCH

Shane and Mark win the fans over by earning near fall after near fall on Steiner and Barr but Gilbert sneaks Barr a foreign object that is used on Douglas for the pin at 8:33. RICK STEINER AND JESSE BARR advance to the semi-finals.
