AWA Music and logo go across the screen and we go to ringside at the packed Met Center. Rod Trongard and Rodger Kent welcome everyone at home to AWA Championship Wrestling on ESPN. They have alot of action and comments tonight, before they go to the ring, they talk about a huge card coming up May 25th at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. In the main event, Verne Gagne has brought in former WWF Champ Bob Backlund back to his home state to challenge Dr Death Steve Williams for the AWA Title. They talk about the press conference and contract signing and the cameras were there.
VTR BOB BACKLUND being introduced the press as being back home and coming to the AWA. He talks a little bit about it being a huge honor and how he is glad to face such a great competitor and man in Doctor Death. He wants everyone to come out to WRESTLEROCK '85 at the Metrodome. The interview DOCTOR DEATH and he talks about facing a great challenge in Backlund is going to keep he and his advisor Bob Roop busy getting ready for this match. They show both men sign the contract and then shake hands.
GREG VALENTINE w/DR JERRY GRAHAM JR DEF. JIM POWERS via Figure Four leg lock
FLOYD CREATCHMEN comes out with his Player's Club, Nick Bockwinkel, Larry Zybysko and Ray Stevens. He talks about how these men are sick of being ducked by Doctor Death and he is sick of Verne Gagne favoring ex athletes in getting title matches. That is why he is here, all three of these men deserve a title shot but Backlund walks in and takes it because he is a former amateur wrestler. Floyd talks about how they needed not just a manager but a Wrestling Sports Agent like he is, to negotiate all the contracts and not let Verne pass these men by. Nick talks first and demands that as a former AWA champ he get a title match, Larry chimes in that the only fair thing to do is give each of these men standing here a match, Stevens pipes up about how Backlund is a yellow gut less chicken and any one of them would make a better challenger. Floyd finishes it that he awaits Verne's answer.

ROAD WARRIORS come out with their AWA tag titles, they want their old boss Paul Ellering to know if he keeps sending teams in here to try and beat them, he is going to be responsible for alot of teams medical bills. Ken Resnick the interviewer tells them about a team that is going to be on the program later today that Paul Ellering hand picked to face them at WrestleRock, that team is Blackjack Mulligan and Bobby Duncum. Animal and Hawk both laugh, then they talk about how Ellering hand picked the Samoans to rid the AWA of the Warriors and what happnened to them.
TITO SANTANA DEF. BORIS ZHUKOV via a flying forearm
DR JERRY GRAHAM is with Ken Resnick, he has with him Greg Valentine and the Honky Tonk Man. He speaks about being wrestling's smartest man, he is guiding the careers of these two men, Mr Valentine and Mr Ferris both trust in him and he will be the man to take them to AWA stardom. He talks about how that man in the ring Tito Santana is a disgrace to the wrestling world and AWA alike. Santana was brought in and is almost certain to take a spot that either of his men are controlling right now. That is why a match has been signed for Wrestlerock, Tito Santana will face Greg Valentine one on one with the winner moving up the AWA ladder. Honky Tonk then talks about being the greatest entertainer in the world and the AWA will here him sing at Wrestlerock and that is why he is here.

SHEIK ADNAN brings out NORD THE BARBARIAN and BRUISER BRODY along with MR SAITO. He talks about how his army is coming to invade the AWA. In the main event today, Nord will battle Superstar Graham and finally retire that over the hill has been. He talks about how Brody is going to destroy anybody in his path and Saito has already set his sights on Curt Hennig as his next target. Adnan vows that the ascent to the top of the AWA will provide alot of pain for the stars of the AWA and alot of heartbreak for their fans.

TITO SANTANA talks with Ken, Ken congratulates him on the win earlier tonight and Tito thanks him. Tito talks about how the AWA is where the big matches are. Verne got ahold of him about appearing at Wrestlerock and helping take the AWA to the next level. He signed on to face Greg Valentine, a very tough customer but Santana will be ready. Ken asks about Dr Jerry Graham Jr and Tito talks about how he does everything in the ring and no manager is going to get in his way, Valentine better come ready.

CURT HENNIG comes to talk to Ken, Ken asks about Mr Saito setting his sights on Curt and being out to destroy him. Curt talks about being second generation and people think he lacks the toughness of his father but Curt is very tough and will not put up with the likes of Saito, or any of Adnan's men. Curt wants all the great people of his home state of Minnesota to come out to the Metrodome and watch him beat Mr Saito and move his way up the AWA ladder.
SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM vs. NORD THE BARBARIAN w/SHEIK ADNAN
Nord attacks Billy as he comes into the ring to "Jesus Chris Superstar". Nord runs his head into the post and Nord drops elbows on him. But Billy is not going to go out like that, he fights back as Nord tries to choke him. Graham uses his massive strength to wear down Nord. He even gets him up in a body slam. Graham reverses a bear hug later on that Nord had applied. Graham has the crowd behind him. and delivers a high knee to the face of Nord after he tosses him into the ropes. He then goes into the ropes and delivers a leg drop across the throat and makes the cover getting the three count.
As Billy celebrates with the fans, Nord goes to the back with his head lowered and Adnan talking to him.
Ken Resnick goes into the ring and interviews Billy Graham. Billy thanks the crowd and gets another huge cheer. Ken asks him about moving up the AWA ladder and getting the AWA belt. Superstar pauses for a second and then talks about having the WWF belt all those years ago was a great thing, but he does not need titles to have these great people behind him, like he told Creatchmen and his band of idiots he can sell out a venue without the title being on the line. Just then Floyd makes his way to the ring with his three guys behind him still wearing their three piece suits. Floyd talks about how how Billy refusing to join them was one thing, but for him to think he does not need a belt to sell out an arena or be relevant is just crazy. He dares Billy to challenge any of these three men and they will beat him any day. Billy just talks about how his name is always on the dotted line and any of Floyd's boys can step up. Floyd then talks about how he is going to have all three step up RIGHT NOW. They attack Graham, who holds his own at first but Stevens jumps him from behind and they start to put the boots to him. They are going to lay him out good but Doctor Death and Bob Roop hit the ring to even the sides and then chase them from the ring.
This is the last image we see of Doc, Roop and Superstar standing together in the ring. Rod talks about how they will talk about Wrestlerock more next week right on this program and signs off.
