-We go now to Channel 5 Studios here in Memphis to Lance Russell and Dave Brown-
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to “Championship Wrestling ‘85”. Eddie Marlin joins them and they talk in somber tones about Jake “The Snake” Roberts attacking Randy Hales last week at the Mid-South Coliseum. Poor Randy had to spend the night in the hospital for a concussion and he will not be able to appear at the Coliseum as usual this week. Marlin said that quite simply, The Snake went too far this time by attacking one of Jerry Lawler’s close friends because this one happens to a non-wrestling CWA employee. We then see footage from backstage at the Mid-South Coliseum where Jake Roberts was telling Michael St. John that Lawler got his hand raised, but who ultimately won the night? The Snake says that it was a real pleasure dropping Randy Hales’ head onto the concrete – although it couldn’t hurt to give that dope’s head a jolt! Eddie Marlin then approaches and says he has put up with enough – Jake Roberts is fired from CWA! Roberts smiles slyly and lunges at Marlin, but security pull The Snake away and eject him from the building as he calmly promises that this is not over.
The new CWA Heavyweight Champion Jerry “The King” Lawler and Bill Dundee are out as well as we come back from break. Lawler says The Snake showed what kind of coward that he is by attacking Randy Hales. The King is asking Eddie to reinstate The Snake to give him one more match this Monday night. Marlin respects Lawler’s wishes, but he will not do that. Lawler is not happy and says he demands to get Roberts back in the ring. Marlin replies that it could happen, but it will have to be in some other territory because Jake Roberts has been fired and he will stay fired! Marlin then announces that The King needs to stay focused because his opponent for this Monday night is none other than Bill Dundee himself! Dundee seems surprised by that, but says he and the King can have their match – and then they will shake hands. But as far as Dundee is concerned – good riddance to Jake Roberts! Lawler is annoyed by that as Dundee goes to shake hands with the fans.
1) Bill Dundee pinned Roy Lee Welch at 6:11 when he came off the second rope with a Bomb’s Away splash.
Lanny Poffo makes his first appearance in CWA in six months to speak with Dave Brown after the match. Poffo talks about how both he and his brother “Macho Man” Randy Savage were sidelined with injuries during their wars with Jimmy Hart and Eddie Gilbert awhileback. Poffo is cleared and ready for action now, and he has some other big news. So is his brother "Macho Man" Randy Savage! The fans cheer as Lanny Poffo announces that the Macho Man will be here on Championship Wrestling next week and they will be looking to have a shot whoever wins this Monday’s elimination match between Hotstuff International and The Nightmares. Lanny closes by promising that Randy is coming with a very special surprise as well! Lance Russell sends us to a music video highlighting the return of “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

Jimmy Hart is arguing with Eddie Marlin at the desk as we come back, and Lance Russell tells us that the First Family manager is upset because Rick Rude has demanded a Loser Leaves Town Match with Tommy Rich for this Monday. Russell reveals that Rich agreed, but only if it was inside a steel cage so Jimmy Hart and Big Bubba Rogers would be kept out. Apparently, Rude agreed to that demand without consulting his manager. Jimmy Hart is demanding that the match be cancelled, but Eddie Marlins says the card is finalized and there will be no changes. And quite frankly, he is looking forward to what should be an incredible bout between Rude and Rich inside the cage. Hart is frazzled, but Rick Rude makes his way out to ensure his manager that he has things under control.
We then get a live phone call for Tommy Rich, who encourages the fans to be at the Mid-South Coliseum this Monday night to see the final battle between himself and Rick Rude. Tommy is “all faaaaared up” and he is looking to bust up Ravishing Rick’s pretty face and then send him on the first bus out of Memphis! Rude has heard enough, grabs the phone and hangs up. Rick Rude then boasts that he has the best body in professional wrestling, where as Tommy Rich is a the epitome of a doughboy. Rick Rude says he has already made the call and Rich has a job waiting for him at McDonalds come Tuesday morning! Jimmy Hart is not swayed at all by this bravado and argues with his client as they walk over to the ring.
2) Rick Rude (w/ Jimmy Hart & Big Bubba Rogers) pinned Charlie Cook at 4:45 with a Rude Awakening neck-breaker. Rude shouts that the fans will see the end of Tommy Rich this Monday night.
Sweet Sensation join Dave Brown after the match as clips are shown of their big win over the Bruise Brothers last Monday night. Stan Lane tells Dave Brown that the rumours are that Troy Graham and Porkchop Cash have turned tail and left Memphis after two big losses to Sweet Sensation in a row. Dave reveals that this Monday, it will be Sweet Sensation against multiple-time Southern Tag Team Champions the masked Infernos. Lane says the Infernos are dangerous, especially because they use those identical bodysuits and masks to their advantage. However, Lane and Michaels will be ready for anything this Monday night at the Mid-South Coliseum.

CWA Heavyweight Champion Jerry “The King” Lawler is out after the break and he is not happy at all. First of all, he wants Jake Roberts back in the ring this Monday night and apparently that is not going to happen. Lawler says he doesn’t care how it has to happen, he will get some revenge for his young friend Randy Hales. So Jake Roberts can meet him in any back alley in Memphis or anywhere else to get what’s coming to him. Now then, The King also has to deal with Bill Dundee this Monday night. Lawler says it is curious timing for Dundee to get a title match given all that is going on with The Snake, which brings Bill out. Dundee says Lawler is over-thinking things quite a bit here. Bill reminds Lawler that HE was the one who in front of a TV audience told “Kingfish” never to trust Jake Roberts to begin with!
Bill Dundee says he has had the King’s back and he didn’t ask for a title match, however he wasn’t going to turn one down either. Dundee thinks he deserves the title shot after beating Adrian Street a few weeks ago. He adds that The King surely has enough integrity to go into the ring and have a competitive match, and then shake hands win, lose or draw. Lawler cracks a smile and says he can accept what Dundee is saying. The only difference of opinion is that Lawler knows that the only result is The King walking out with that CWA Heavyweight Title intact. Dundee disagrees, but he respects that sentiment. The duo shake hands as Lance Russell sends us back up to the squared circle.
3) The Masked Superstar defeated David Oswald at 3:31 by forcing him to submit to the Shininomaki cobra hold.
Dave Brown calls The Masked Superstar over to the desk, and out comes the Southern Heavyweight Champion One Man Gang. Brown announces that this Monday night, it will be a Last Man Standing Match as the champion defends against “The Universal Heartthrob” Austin Idol! We then go to VTR footage from Michael St. John of Idol in training for his big match. Austin tells St. John as he lifts weights that he doesn’t take a man like One Man Gang lightly and knows it will be a hell of a task to put him down for the count. But just like George Washington did, Austin Idol is going to chop down that massive cherry tree this Monday and once it’s down, it stays down! Idol says Dutch Mantell will be watching on and he will get vengeance for his close friend The Dutchman.
The Masked Superstar scoffs as we come back to the studio, telling Dave Brown that no amount of training will give Idol the strength necessary to take an absolute monster like One Man Gang and put him down for a ten count. Superstar admits that Idol has had some good luck the last two weeks, but One Man Gang stands here stronger and more vicious than ever. Idol can try his best, but ultimately it will still be the Universal Heartthrob’s funeral this Monday night. All Idol has to do is ask Dutch Mantell what that the 747 felt like! Dave Brown then asks about the status of Jake Roberts, but the Masked Superstar replies that he has no comment at this time.

Southern Tag Team Champions “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and Rick Steiner are out to discuss their elimination style tag team match against The Nightmares this Monday night. Gilbert crows about beating Danny Davis and Ken Wayne last week, but Dave Brown reminds him that The Nightmares have won in the past as well. Gilbert calls that result a fluke, and says that this Monday, himself and the Dog-Faced Gremlin will beat them in two straight falls and then they will be done with The Nightmares as far as he is concerned. Gilbert quips that Eddie Marlin thinks he pulled one over by signing a match like this, but Eddie will be pleased to see it all blow up in that old fool’s face!
Dave Brown then asks if Eddie Gilbert heard the comments from the returning Lanny Poffo earlier. Gilbert laughs and says he wouldn’t bother listening to a goof like Poffo. Eddie reminds Dave Brown that he was the one who put Poffo on the shelf last fall, and he will be happy to do it again. Dave Brown mentions that it took a cowboy boot to the neck several times to do that kind of damage, but maybe things will be different since “Macho Man” Randy Savage will be back in town next week as well! Eddie seems genuinely shocked by that and excuses himself and his tag team partner.
4) Billy Joe Travis wrestled to a TV time limit draw with Phil Hickerson to close out the show, and both men continued to brawl after the bout.
Phil Hickerson made his way over to the desk and tells Lance Russell that the Cinderella story of Billy Joe Travis is not going to include a win over the Big Hick! Travis is back over now and they shove each other a little. Eddie Marlin comes out and orders them to cool it down. Eddie says we didn’t get a clear result today so he is signing a rematch for next Saturday right here on Championship Wrestling ’85 between Billy Joe Travis and Phil Hickerson. Hickerson tells Travis that he will teach the punk a lesson that only a ring veteran can right here next week in front of the TV viewing audience. Travis calls for him to bring it on and another fight almost breaks out, but Eddie Marlin is able to calm things down again as we go to our final commercial break of this week's telecast.
