-We go now to Channel 5 Studios here in Memphis to Lance Russell and Dave Brown-
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to “Championship Wrestling ‘85”. They were joined at the desk by Southern Heavyweight Champion Jerry “The King” Lawler, who is wearing a neckbrace. Footage is shown on Jake Roberts and Adrian Street’s attack on The King at Christmas, and then Russell asks Jerry about his condition. Lawler says the fact is that he suffered some serious damage to his neck and most wrestlers would take a few months off to let the injury heal. But most wrestlers aren’t Jerry Lawler. Not only is he finally the Southern Heavyweight Champion, but there are three S.O.B.s in the dressing room that have beatings come to them. Now, he is required to defend his title belt by January 25 and his doctors have said he shouldn’t be back in the ring that soon, but he’s already told his doctors that he will be back in the ring by that date and that’s the bottom line. And he wants Jake Roberts in the ring. The Snake struck at Christmas, and now it’s time for The King to strike back.
The fans begin booing now as a laughing Jake Roberts leads out the One Man Gang, Adrian Street and Miss Linda. The Devil’s Triangle are here and Lance Russell immediately warns the new CWA Heavyweight Champion Jake Roberts that he doesn’t want any trouble. Jake snickers and says that’s all up to Jerry Lawler. Lawler snaps back that he might be injured, but he’s still more than enough a man to knock the taste out of Jake’s mouth! Roberts says The King proved again today that he has more guts than brains to come out all by himself. Jerry mentions that there a lot of wrestlers in the back that would be more than happy to help him out.The Snake questions whether Jerry Lawler is sure about that – and then he shoves The King! Lawler stands up now and he comes from behind the desk as Lance Russell warns him not to do this. Lawler motions for Jake to bring it on, but now he’s being surrounded by Street and the One Man Gang as well. Lawler decks Jake, but now the Gang and Street grab a hold of Lawler and hold him! Jake whips back around and rips off The King’s neckbrace. He then decks him twice! Lawler is nailing Lawler across the face with rights and lefts as Lance calls for help. Eddie Marlin rushes out and shouts that the locker-room door has been blocked and they are trying to get it opened up!
One Man Gang now bashes Lawler with a forearm across the back of the neck and now sends Lawler right into a DDT on the concrete floor! The fans are panicked, and so are Lance and Dave! The King is not moving as Roberts shoots back up and motions for his Devil’s Triangle members to get The King up. They lift him up and then Roberts hits a second DDT on the floor! Finally, here come Tommy Rich, Bill Dundee, the Rock n’ Roll Express and the Southern Boys to clear out The Devil’s Triangle.
There is a silence in the studio as medics rush out and load Jerry Lawler onto a stretcher and rush him out of the studio as an ambulance roars up to the front of the studio. We go back to Lance and Dave, who are shell-shocked as they send us up to a commercial break. When we come back, Lance and Dave send us up to the ring, and they are clearly still shaken.
MATCH ONE: “WILDFIRE” TOMMY RICH VS. RAGIN’ BULL RANDY BARBER
Tommy Rich scores the win over the Ragin Bull at 2:11 via pinfall with the Lou Thesz Press... Wildfire is in a frenzied state as he tears though Randy Barber and pins him very quickly with his signature manuever.
Tommy Rich storms over to the desk and tells Lance Russell and Dave Brown that he is “done farrrrrrred up” over all this crap that’s been going on. Rich says Jake Roberts cheating him out of the CWA Heavyweight Title is one thing – he’s been cheated before and he will get his belt back. But what just happened out here to The King is the most disgusting thing he has ever seen in his years in pro wrestling. This Monday night, he has a match with Adrian Street and he promises to the fans that he will do to “that pansy” what they did to Jerry Lawler out here. Rich then tells Lance that he will be going over to the hospital now to check on The King.

Lance Russell and Dave Brown are joined by Eddie Marlin, who says that Jerry Lawler is being seen by doctors as we speak. Marlin promises to give an update if we get one during this telecast. Jimmy Hart then makes his way out with Playboy Frazier and says he’s mad too! He’s mad that it wasn’t one of the First Family members that injured Jerry Lawler! Jimmy says his men are too busy with “scum” like King Kong Bundy and the Rock n’ Roll Express, but as far as he’s concerned, he hopes Jake Roberts finished off The King for good! Lance tells Jimmy that he’s heard about enough, but then Hart adds that Bundy may join Lawler in the hospital because Monday night Playboy Frazier will put HIM down for the five count! Playboy Frazier then makes his way out and Jimmy Hart leads him to the ring.
MATCH TWO: PLAYBOY FRAZIER w/ Jimmy Hart VS. MARK RAGIN
Playboy Frazier defeats Mark Ragin at 6:11 via pinfall when he connects with the sit-down splash on Ragin… Frazier jaws with the fans, but that gets him in trouble as Ragin lands a few rights and lefts on Frazier. Frazier eventually connects with a big head-butt and the splash to score the win.
The Dirty White Boy is out after the match and he tells Lance Russell that he is pretty frustrated after last week, because Dutch Mantell’s bad luck continues to hold him down. Russell says he’s not sure about that, but Anthony insists that Dutch has been on a bad streak for too long now. The Dutchman now makes his way out and says he wants to know why The Dirty White Boy keeps blaming all his problems on other people! White Boy retorts that Dutch keeps screwing up – it’s as simple as that! Mantell counters that he secured a Southern Tag Team Title match for them this week, so everything can get back on track. The White Boys says this is a big opportunity so he hopes Mantell doesn’t choke. A surprised Dutch looks on as The Dirty White Boy walks by and heads off to the dressing room.

COMMERCIAL BREAK:

Jos LeDuc is out after the break and tells Lance Russell and Dave Brown that “Superstar” Bill Dundee is over at the hospital at the moment. LeDuc says Lawler was never his friend, but he hates The Devil’s Triangle with a passion and this is just more fuel to the fire. LeDuc challenges The Devil’s Triangle to come out now and try to take him down like they did to Lawler. Lance Russell announces that Eddie Marlin had the trio and Miss Linda ejected from the building, but there is still a match signed for Monday night. It will be Jos LeDuc and “Superstar” Dundee against CWA Champion Jake Roberts and the One Man Gang. LeDuc says he can’t wait to get his hands around Jake’s neck and promises that he won’t stop squeezing until the neck snaps. LeDuc mugs for the camera as he heads up to the ring.
MATCH THREE: JOS LEDUC VS. KEN LUCAS
Jos LeDuc defeated Ken Lucas at 7:34 via pinfall with the Canadian Backbreaker… This one would be a main event in many Southern territories, but fans are getting it for free on TV today. Lucas puts up a good fight, but LeDuc manages to work over his opponent and score the dominant win.
The Mongolian Stomper is out with his nephew Stomper Jr. The Mongolian Stomper tells Lance Russell that his nephew is impressing a lot of people here in the CWA, but of course he still has a lot to learn. Lance comments that it’s pretty clear that Stomper Jr. is a chip off the old block and has a lot of natural talent. Stomper Jr. thanks Lance and says he is looking to work his way up the ladder here in the CWA with the training of his uncle. Russell announces that Stomper Jr. will face former CWA Heavyweight Champion “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert on Monday night. The Mongolian Stomper puts over Eddie Gilbert as one of the best and most cagey wrestlers in the sport today, and says his nephew is ready for a tough bout.

This Monday night, they have a match with Rude and Adonis. Tracy says he and Steve plan to use this match as a stepping stone and then they will get even with The Moondogs.

The masked Canadian Spoiler lets his team down though and falls victim to the teamwork of the Wild-Eyed Southern Boys.
King Kong Bundy is out after the match and says he cannot wait to get Playboy Frazier in the ring this Monday night.
