Taking over and making some changes to the Smoky Mountain Wrestling promotion.
The promotion is being renamed "Great American Wrestling". GAW will continue to air a weekly one-hour television show on The Nashville Network emanating from the Grand Ole Opry, taped on Monday and airing on Friday evening on the network. The Nashville Network had some highly popular shows during this time period named Great American (insert name). We are seeking to capitalize on this brand success.
While GAW will still operate mostly in the Smoky Mountain region, and work to honor to the legacy of SMW, the promotion will expand to a few more states in the Southern area and make some changes which will be announced on the first TV show.
By decree of the GAW Board of Directors, all titles are vacant. The promotion will recognize the following titles:
GAW World Heavyweight Champion
GAW Southern Heavyweight Champion
GAW World Tag-Team Champions
Sorry to all the fans of the Beat the Champ title, it is being discontinued as this time.
First roster moves:
GAW trades Hunter Hurst Hemsley and Jesse James Armstrong to WWE in exchange for Chris Jericho, Lance Storm and Savio Vega (TNT).
