A "tally-ho" from Lord Blears welcomes viewers to the new "Wrestling from Europe" weekly show, where some of the finest wrestlers throughout Europe and international wrestlers will be featured. Blears explains that as pro wrestling moves into the 1990s, "Wrestling from Europe" will adapt to the times and move into US-style single fall matches - unless otherwise noted. While the matches might look a bit different, Lord Blears promises all of the same great stars from the UK, Germany, Ireland and beyond - including European Heavyweight Champion Dave "Fit" Finlay, Eurosport Junior Heavyweight Champion Johnny Saint and European Tag Team Champions Blondie Barrett and Kendo Nagasaki.
<u>Tonight on "Wrestling from Europe"</u>
+ Dave "Fit" Finlay, Dave Taylor and Norman Smiley vs. Mark "Rollerball" Rocco, Rob Brookside and Mystery Partner
+ American Powerhouse Norton in action!
+ A junior heavyweight showcase pitting "Doc" Dean against the veteran Ironfist Clive Myers.
Lord James Blear: "Enough of all that, let's get to the wrestling!"
In the first match on "Wrestling from Europe", veteran Johnny Kidd stands waiting in the ring when the massive American, Powerhouse Norton makes his way to the ringside area. Perhaps some traditional British wrestling fans who were already dreading the Americanization of the sport weren't thrilled to see an American in the first match on "Wrestling from Europe". The jury on whether Norton can win over the fans in Europe remains to be seen, but he gives it a solid try as he pumps his fist and shouts to the crowd after knocking down Kidd repeatedly with shoulder-blocks. Kidd fights back with some quick technical maneuvers, but is eventually flattened by a lariat from the Powerhouse puts him down for the count. Powerhouse Norton tries to pump up the crowd after match, perhaps only to muted success.

A brief filmed piece with "Doc" Dean airs ahead of his match with Ironfist Clive Myers. In the clip, Dean explains to new viewers that he's been wrestling for a few years now and has started to move up the junior heavyweight ranks here in the UK. "Doc" recalls his earliest days wrestling strangers at a Blackpool carnival, explaining that he's come a long way in only a few short years. Dean believes it is important to set goals for yourself - and his involves winning the Eurosport Junior Heavyweight Champion in this calendar year. More than that, "Doc" Dean believes that to cement himself as the top junior heavyweight on the continent, he has to win that championship from the current best pure wrestler on the continent, Johnny Saint. Dean knows he has some ways to go before getting his shot at Saint but wants Johnny Saint to hold onto that championship long enough to defend it against him.
The junior heavyweight championship showcase takes place next as "Doc" Dean takes on Ironfist Clive Myers, with Johnny Saint sitting in on commentary. Saint says he's honored that a promising young wrestler like "Doc" Dean speaks so highly of him - and he would relish the chance to give the young man a title shot. Saint says he will sign on whenever the promotion deems Dean the #1 contender - and he hopes "Doc" gets some wins to make that happen sooner rather than later. Dean does look impressive, countering Myer's dangerous right hand on several occasions. In fact, "Doc" Dean manages to dodge the Ironfist throughout the match and eventually gets the upper-hand by dropping Myers on the back of his head twice with belly-to-back suplexes. Dean then plants Myers with a brain buster suplex to put the veteran away.
Following the match, Johnny Saint rises from the commentary desk to give "Doc" Dean a respectful round of applause.

Before the main event, a fellow Scotsman, Bill "Superstar" Dundee from Angus, Scotland, is featured in a filmed piece where he announces he will be returning to Eurosport for his first matches on the continent in over 15 years. Dundee describes himself as "the biggest star in American wrestling", in more ways than one, and a man whose intellect is respected as much as his cutting-edge fashion sense and superior wrestling ability. The Superstar makes it known that he won't just be wrestling in singles match, he also plans to guide a tag team to glory in his home continents. Dundee won't "spill the beans" and show "Wrestling from Europe" the team he's found - but he can mold them into a championship team!
Back to live action, it's a six-man clash as European Heavyweight Champion Dave "Fit" Finlay teams up with fellow rogues Dave Taylor and youngster Norman Smiley (pronounced, at his insistence, "Nor-mohn Smil-ay") to take on perennial top contender Mark "Rollerball" Rocco, rookie sensation Rob Brookside and a partner shrouded in mystery. The rogues are none to pleased when Brookside and Rocco appear with none other than "The British bulldog" Davey Boy Smith as their tag team partner! Lord Blears speaks about Smith's history as a protege of Big Daddy who has wrestled to huge success for several years in the US. Smith's homecoming reception is quite the scene to witness, especially after he clears the ring of all three opponents. This one ends up as a wild brawl that sees Finlay track to clock Smith with the championship belt, only for it to be blocked. Unfortunately, referee Brian Crabtree only sees Smith with the championship and calls for the disqualification. A disappointing close to the match sees Finlay demand the referee hand him his championship belt. The British Bulldog holds the title belt about his held and then motions that it's going around his waist soon! Finlay rants and raves from the floor as Smith throws the belt out to him and then flexes.
Next week, in the spirit of Perestroika, a special look at Russian Tag Team Champions Salman Hashimikov and Victor Zangiev.
Lord Blears: "That's all for this week, grapple-fans. Join us next week - and cheerio!"
