1) El Canek defeated Ivan Koloff with the Argentine rack.
2) Perro Aguayo pinned Masa Saito with the double stomp.
3) Konnan El Barbaro pinned Dick Slater with a rolling lariat.
4) Mike Rotunda submitted Shane Douglas with the STF.
Interval
5) American Love Machine, Chris Benoit and Doctor Wagner Jr. defeated El Dandy, Fuji Yamada Ultimo Dragon in a traditional trios match, 2 falls to 1.
California Heavyweight Championship: Semis
6) El Canek pinned Perro Aguayo with the gorilla press drop.
7) Konnan El Barbaro pinned Mike Rotunda in a shock upset with a roll through small package out of a powerslam attempt.
Interval
The Atomic Pair (Eddy Guerrero and El Hijo del Santo) and The Can-Am Connection (Doug Furnas and Dan Kroffat) defeated Super Generation Army (Kenta Kobashi, Mitsuharu Misawa and Toshiaki Kawada) and Gary Albright when Furnas hit a Frankensteiner on Kobashi.
California Heavyweight Championship
El Canek pinned Konnan El Barbaro to become the champion. Konnan appeared to have the match win over the grizzled veteran when several men in black masks came out of the apron and jumped on each corner of the apron. Blue Panther ran out to get the men away but as the referee was distracted by Canek, Panther shocked the crowd by laying out Konnan with a roll of centavos. Canek then made the cover and left with the title, Blue Panther following in tow.
