MARSHALL (v/o) : Wrestling fans, welcome to VIVA LAS VEGAS! Get ready for the greatest night of action in the history of our great sport! Highlighted by our MAIN EVENT... BIG VAN VADER defending his Undisputed World Title against SEVEN top contenders in the awesome STEEL GAUNTLET!!!! Let's go to ringside at the Thomas & Mack Center!
MARSHALL: Welcome to VIVA LAS VEGAS! Magnum, tonight's the night....Vader and seven top contenders in the Steel Gauntlet!
MAGNUM: Lee, if Vader walks out with that title here tonight, I'm not sure that he'll ever drop the belt!
MARSHALL: Also, a huge six man...it's a Badstreet USA match!
MAGNUM: Come as you are, anything goes...Freebirds against the Sheepherders and Rip Morgan! I think it will be all out war!
MARSHALL: We also have a Texas Death Match!
MAGNUM: That's right, Lee! “The Legend” Terry Funk will try to settle his differences with Outlaw Ron Bass in the match his father, Dory Funk, Sr. created! I hope we have enough time for this match! This goes until one man can't answer the bell! Funk and Bass won't go down without a fight!
MARSHALL: We have a fantastic tag team match to start us off!
BADD Company vs. The Hollywood Heartbreakers (w/Downtown Bruno):The speed, martial arts ability, and teamwork of Pat Tanka and Paul Diamond really give John Tatum & Jack Victory a tough time. Magnum says Bruno may regret choosing the Heartbreakers over BADD Company! When it seems like the Heartbreakers may be going down in defeat, Bruno's other client, Kokina charges into the ring! Kokina gives each member of Badd Co. a Samoan drop! Then, he piles them on top of each other and splashes bothe of them! In spite of the fact that they lost the match via DQ, Tatum, Victory, & Bruno celebrate Kokina's destruction of their opponents! Time:11:57.
Boni is standing by in the interview area...
BONI: Coming up next is a qualifying match for the Steel Gauntlet. My guests at this time, Big John Studd, along with his manager Sir Oliver Humperdink, will face hacksaw Butch Reed. The winner gets the chance to compete in the Steel Gauntlet for the Undisputed World Championship! Hacksaw Butch Reed has given you some trouble, gentlemen!
STUDD: He hasn't give me any trouble, Boni Blackstone! I've manhandled him every time we've been in the ring together! I'll beat him, then I'll go into that steel cage and I'll wreak havoc! You are looking at the next World Champion!
BONI: (to Humperdink) Butch Reed has bodyslammed your man on more than one occasion, yet he hasn't collected the $10,000 prize. Will the money be on the line here tonight?
HUMPERDINK: Listen, you meddling little hussy, the 10 grand is only on the line during Bodyslam Challenges, not in wrestling matches! I've made that perfectly clear, yet people keep asking these ignorant questions! We will win the World Championship here tonight! First, we will knock Hacksaw Butch Reed out of contention!
BONI: OK, let's say that Big John does qualify for the Steel Gauntlet. You have another man in that match-what happens if it comes down to Big John Studd and the Master of Pain!
STUDD: Then, these peons will have the privilege of seeing the greatest fight since Ali-Frazier! It will rock your world, Boni!
Hacksaw Butch Reed vs. Big John Studd(w/Sir Oliver Humperdink): Two of the most powerful men in wrestling in an all out slugfest! This match is very reminiscent of Butch's Mid-South years.To a big pop, Butch advances to the Steel Gauntlet as he pins Studd after a shoulderblock off the top turnbuckle in 12:03.
BONI: Butch, congratulations!
REED: Studd is a big, bad man, no doubt about it! Vader, you and all the rest of'em better be ready, 'cause the Hacksaw is on his way! That title is coming to me!
“Boy From New York City” plays over the sound system...
BONI: Sorry, Hacksaw, we have to fo to our next big match!
“Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant vs. Nord the Berzerker(w/Eddie Gilbert & Missy Hyatt): Naturally, there's not a wrestling hold applied as these two wildmen have an all out brawl! Gilbert attempts to interfere fail as Valiant decks him! When Missy tries to get involved, Valiant gives her a big ol' kiss! Missy appears nauseous! Valiant and Nord brawl outside the ring and are both counted out! Time:6:01.
UWA WORLD JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert(w/Missy Hyatt) vs. Dean Malenko: Gilbert asks for an hour to recover from being slugged by “that lunatic Jimmy Valiant”, but referee David Manning says “No way!” Gilbert does seem to be a step slower than Malenko tonight and Dean throughly outwrestles the champ for most of the way. Missy attempts to help, but accidentally nails her man with her Gucci bag. Malenko takes advantage of that and locks in the Texas cloverleaf. It looks like we'll have a new champ until Nord comes down, weaqring his viking helmet! Nord headbutts Malenko while wearing the helmet and Dean falls to the mat, out cold! Nord drops a series of legdrops on Malenko and then hoists him up into a backbreaker! David Manning gets on the mic and threatens to suspend Nord for 30 days if Gilbert doesn't call him off! That doesn't seem to phase “Hot Stuff”! Then, Manning threatens Gilbert and Hyatt with a 30 day suspension as well! That inspires Eddie and Missy to beg Nord to let up on Malenko! The First family members exit the arena!
Johnny Ace & the Nasty Boys (w/Missy Hyatt) vs. Cactus Jack & the Texas Broncos: “Hot Stuff” is evidently recovering from the last bout as only Missy Hyatt accompanies the First Family members. It's a Memphis style brawl as Jack continues his feud with Ace while Knobs and Sags seem to start a new rivalry with Kendall Windham & Dustin Rhodes! At the 7:47 mark, Rhodes bulldogs Sags and gets the pin! Missy protests to referee Scott LeDoux, who basically ignores her.
The theme from “The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly” plays and Ron Bass, flanked by Eddie Gilbert, comes to the ring. The music changes to “Desperado” by the Eagles to bring out Terry Funk, who is accompanied by Dory Funk, Jr.
TEXAS DEATH MATCH: “The Legend” Terry Funk (w/Dory Funk, Jr.) vs. Outlaw Ron Bass (W/”Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert):
FIRST FALL: After a few minutes of mat wrestling, advantage Funk, tempers flare and the two Texans slug it out! Bass uses a chain, handed to him by Gilbert to knock Funk down and get a pin in 6:12.
After a 30 second rest period, during which Dory yells encouragement at Terry and fans him with a towel, referee Carl Fergie begins his ten count. He gets to seven before Funk pulls himself up by the ropes and toes the line!
SECOND FALL: Bass beats Funk all over the ring before the former NWA champ catches him in an inside cradle for the pin in 3:47.
Bass is irate, stomping around the ring between falls as Gilbert tries and fails to calm him down. Finally, Gilbert resorts to slapping Bass across the face to motivate him. Fergie doesn't even bother to count at the end of the rest period since both men are ready to go!
THIRD FALL: Bass is like a madman! He viciously tears into Funk and gets a pin after a running powerslam in 4:02. Dory enters the ring to check on his younger brother between falls....
After 30 seconds, Fergie starts his count. Dory goes to the ring apron and stomps his foot, which leads to the fans calpping and stomping along! Fergie counts-One! Two! Three! Funk rolls onto his side and grabs the middle rope...Four! Funk grabs the top rope with his other hand...Five! Six!Funk pulls himself to his feet! Seven! Eight! Terry staggers to the center of the ring and toes the line! That was too close!
FOURTH FALL: Early on, Bass appears to load his glove. The Outlaw uses the risght hand that is under the glove to pound away, eventually busting Funk open! Bass applies the claw and gets yet another pin at the 7:01 mark of the fall! It looks bad for the Legend!
Between falls, Dory uses a towel to attempt to stop his brother's bleeding. Dory and Terry are conversing, Dunk looks gravely concerned for his brother! At the end of the rest period, Carl Fergie shoos Dory out of the ring. On the other side, Gilbert gave his man a pep talk and was doing a Fargo strut as Dory made his exit! The elder Funk and “Hot Stuff” have words and they aren't pleasant ones! Fergie again tolls his count. Terry doesn't even stir until the ref reaches six! Seven! Terry rolls onto his stomach and does a pushup to get to his knees! Eight! Terry's on one knee! Nine! He gets to his feet! He made it!
FIFTH FALL: the fans really get behind Funk and amazingly, he gives Bass all he can handle! Terry has it going his way when Gilbert slides a chair into the ring! Dory grabs a chair of his own and knocks Hot Stuff into next week! Bass bends over to get the steel chair in the ring! Funk stomps him in the gut! Bass drops the chair, bent over in pain! Funk piledrives Bass on the chair! One..Two...three!!!!The fall goes to Funk in 10:01!
Between falls, Terry is doing jumping jacks and shadow boxing while Bass lies in a heap! Gilbert yells encouragement at the Outlaw, but he's not stirring! AT the end of the 30 seconds, Gilbert retreats to the ring apron, still yelling for Bass to get up!

|
Gilbert throws fire, Funk grabs the staggering Outlaw and uses him as a human shield! The fire hits Bass' chest! Bass goes to the mat, writhing in agony! Dory pulls Gilbert off the apron and rams him headfirst into the steel post!

BASS CANNOT ANSWER THE TEN COUNT! TERRY FUNK WINS!!!!!
MAGNUM: The Legend lives on, Lee Marshall!
MARSHALL: No doubt about that! Let's go to the lovely Boni Blackstone!
We have a split screen setup with Tito Santana on the left side, Austin Idol on the right, and Boni in a small box in the bottom center of the screen.
BONI: Before our American Title match, we will hear from both champion and challenger! Tito Santana, what do you have to say to Austin as well as our millions of viewers?
TITO: Austin, tonight, I finally get what I have wanted all along! You can run, but you can't hide, amigo! You can't be saved by the clock or a cheap DQ! You are a great wrestler, but I am confident that I will leave with your belt tonight! ARRIBA!
IDOL: My, my, my! You certainly have the talking part taken care of! DO you seriously think that you can waltz into my hometown, in front of my people, and take my prized possession with millions of my fans watching on pay per view from Tulsa to Tokyo?Absolutely not, my man! I am the ladies' pet, the men's regret, and your worst nightmare!
TITO: I say enough talking! Let's get it done! (Santana gets up and leaves)
IDOL: I've never seen a man in such a hurry to lose! Stick around, Boni, darlin, this won't take very long!
Tito Santana, always the blue collar type, makes a basic entrance-no music and wearing a T shirt with a UWA logo on the front with his gear. Tito high fives as many fans as possible as he jogs to the ring!
Idol, on the other hand, opts for a lavish intro! “We Don't Need Another Hero” by Tina Turner plays, there are laser lights and smoke, Idol wears a sequined Olivia Walker original. Idol blows a few kisses and walks as slowly as possible down the aisle, hoping to frustrate the challenger.
It doesn't seem to work as Tito stands stoically in the corner. Idol makes a big production of removing his robe. There is a contingent of female fans who scream at the sight of Austin's physique, but the boos are even louder. It seems like even here in Vegas,fans are becoming disgruntled with Austin.
AMERICAN TITLE MATCH: NO TIME LIMIT OR DQ! “Universal Heartthrob”Austin Idol © vs. Tito Santana: Both men are past masters of the figure four and spend a great deal of time attempting to work the other's leg. Idol takes full advantage of the No DQ stip by wrapping Tito's leg around the ring post and slamming it with a chair! This hurts Tito, but also serves to fire him up. Santanna makes a limping comeback and fires away at Idol with punches and forearms! Idol uses a low blow to regain the momentum and soon has Tito in position for the figure four! Tito counters with an inside cradle! ONE...TWO...THREE!!!!!
TITO SANTANNA WINS THE AMERICAN TITLE!!!! TITO HOLDS THE BELT IN THE AIR! ARRIBA!!! SEVERAL BABYFACES ENTER THE RING TO CONGRATULATE THE NEW CHAMPION!!!
A disgusted and disappointed Idol refuses a handshake from Tito and slinks away in defeat!
Boni Blackstone is standing by...
BONI: It's been a wild night! I'm sure it's about to get even wilder! I'm joined by the leader of the Fabulous Freebirds, Michael Hayes! The Badstreet USA match is next and you are dressed for it!
HAYES: Yes, I am! What all the best dressed gentlmen on Badstreet are wearing this year! Official badstreet, USA T shirt! Blue jeans, complete with heavy leather belt and huge buckle! Broken down cowboy boots! Taped fists! And from the jewelry counter! (pulls out a chain and wraps it around his fist)! Bamm Bamm and Buddy Jack are ready, too! Sheepherders, you stole our title belts! You run down our country every chance you get! Tonight, you are takin a walk down Badstreet! It's easy to get there, but it's hard to get away! Like the Eagles said, you can check out any time ya want, but you can never leave! Man, we've seen some great matches tonight! But this best is yet to come, sweet Bon Bon!
BONI: Badstreet match is up next!
A single spotlight shines on The Sheepherders and Rip Morgan as they make their entrance as “Imperial Death March” from Star Wars plays. All three have taped fists. Morgan waves the New Zealand flag on a steel pole. Luke Williams is wearing a caol miner's type glove. Butch Miller carries a trash can. The heels enter the ring and salute the flag. The music is brought down. Luke Williams grabs Mark Lowrance's mic and adresses David Manning.
WILLIAMS: OK, yank, it's obvious they ain't showing up! Call for the bell and raise our hands!
“Badstreet USA” blasts throughout the arena! The Freebirds do show up! They are dressed for a street fight! Roberts is even wearing a Georgia Bulldogs football helmet!
BADSTREET USA MATCH: Fabulous Freebirds vs. The Sheepherders & Rip Morgan: An all out street fight! All six men are bleeding within five minutes! The climax comes at around the 8 minute mark. Rip is bashing Gordy with his flagpole when hayes takes the flag away from Rip and starts bashing Luke with it! Hayes sends Williams over the top rope and then throws the flag down on top of the fallen Sheepherder! Meanwhile, Gordy has applied the spike on Rip Morgan! Roberts bulldogs Butch Miller onto the garbage can that the Sheeps brought in! Referee Manning says Rip is unable to continue and calls for the bell! The Freebirds win!
Wait a second! Big Van Vader has arrived at ringside with Madusa Miceli by his side! Vader has the mic!
VADER: Hey, Gordy! That looks like fun! I have an idea! They're having another pay per view on Halloween Night! I say you and me fight for my belt that night in a BADSTREET MATCH!!!!
Gordy is gesturing for Vader to bring it on!
VADER: Not tonight, boy! I'm gonna tear througfh seven other wrestlers in the STEEL GAUNTLET and show the world who's the boss! I'll get to you later! Wait yer turn!
Vader leaves! The other two Freebirds have to restrain Bamm Bamm! Halloween is almost two months away and I can't wait!
MARSHALL: While we wait for our ring crew to construct the STEEL GAUNTLET cage, we will have the rare opportunity to hear from each of the participants prior to what will be the biggest match of their respective careers!
MAGNUM: I can recall preparing for big, high stakes matches. I'd try not to be nervous and go over strategy and scouting reports in my mind. I'd also try to get in a light workout and some stretching. The body and mind both have to be ready!
We see Carlos Colon. Carlos stands in front of a green screen with a Caribbean beach projected on it.
COLON: Look, I realize that many people watching may not know me. I hope many of my fans in places like Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Trinidad, and Tobago are watching the broadcast. If they are, let me thank you for your support. I will fight hard to bring the World Title home to you! For those of you not familiar with Carlos Colon or Caribbean wrestling: The wrestling down there is very violent and hard hitting. I am no stranger to cage matches! I have had at least 200 in my career! I have also had chain matches, barbed wire matches, even a match with the ring surrounded by fire! I have more experience in wild, violent matches than all of the other men in this match combinded! I am ready for anything!
Cut to a locker room. There we see Eddie Gilbert, Missy Hyatt, and Buzz Sawyer.
GILBERT: Buzz, it ain't been the best of nights for the First Family! We need that World Title! Do you understand me?
MISSY: In fact, if you can't bring that belt back to the First Family dressing room, don't come back here at all!You already lost one title! Don't let us down again!
Gilbert grab's Sawyer's dog chain and begins whipping him across the back with it!
GILBERT: I want you mean, Mad Dog! Mad and mean and vicious! It's now or never! I wanna hear bones cracking and see blood oozing out of eyeballs! Git mean!
SAWYER: (to camera) I'm walking out with that title! None of the rest of them geeks are walking out at all! AHWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Chris Adams stands in fronty of a large Union Jack.
ADAMS: When I first heard about the STEEL GAUNTLET, I said “That sounds impossible!” I didn't want any part of it! Then, I began to think-I've never backed down from a fight in my life! There's never been a challenge that I didn't meet head on! This is my chance to be the Undisputed World Champion! Opportunities like this don't come along every day! As long as I have the strength for one superkick, I'm still in it! With the support of my great fans, I'm very confident about tonight!
“Midnight Soldier” Brian Adams is sitting on a bench, doing preacher curls with a dumbell.
ADAMS: 99...100! OK, I'm physically and mentally prepared for the biggest match of my lifetime! With the Midnight Army behind me, there's no way I can ever lose! Vader, polish that belt until it shines, 'cause it's coming to the Army tonight!
Scott Steiner, dressed in his Michigan letter jacket, stands in front of the UWA logo.
STEINER: I've been preparing my whole life for this moment! This is my shot at the biggest prize in the world! If I win tonight, I can put on that belt, look the world in the eye, and say “Scott Steiner is the best in the world!” I hope this don't sound cocky, but I like my chances!
Butch Reed sits on a stool in a dressing room.
REED: I just go through whuppin that Big John Studd! He says he's a giant, but I chopped his beanstalk down! I still got enough left for the STEEL GAUNTLET! (holds up fists) The left is iron, the right is steel! If the left don't get ya, the right one will! That goes for you, too, Van Vader!The Hacksaw is coming for that title!
The Master of Pain and Sir Oliver Humperdink sit on wicker chairs. There is a wicker table with a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket and two glasses on the table.
SOH: Master of Pain, I already have the champagne on ice! I want you to be ready for the STEEL GAUNTLET! Those other guys wouldn't be there if they weren't tough! Especially watch out for Reed! You saw how he used every rulebreaking tactic in the book against Big John earlier!
MASTER: Sir Oliver, I'm used to fighting in cages! I was in stir for five years! I fought killers, gang members, Mafia hit men, you name it! These punks don't intimidate me, not even that slob Big Van Vader!Don't worry about Butch Reed, I gotta heart punch with his name on it!
We cut to ringside. As “Bad To The Bone” plays, all eight competitors enter the arena and surround the cage! During the entrance, Magnum picks Scott Steiner to win, while Lee says his money is on Butch Reed! On the other side of the ring, Boni, Mark and Frank Dusek stand beside the same rotary hopper that we used at Battle Bowl.
BONI: Here's how we'll proceed, UWA President, Frank Duske will draw names at random, he'll hand the names to Mark Lowrance, who will introduce the next contender!
To refresh your memory, here are the rules!
STEEL GAUNTLET
1.MATCH CONTESTED IN A STEEL CAGE. NO DQ OR TIME LIMIT!
2.8 TOP WRESTLERS INVOLVED.
3.TWO NAMES DRAWN AT RANDOM START THE MATCH. THEY WRESTLE UNTIL ONE MAN ACHIEVES A PIN OR SUBMISSION.
4.AFTER A PIN OR SUBMISSION ACHIEVED, ANOTHER NAME DRWN AT RANDOM.
5.THE THIRD WRESTLER DRAWN WILL TAKE ON THE WINNER OF THE FIRST MATCH.
6.PROCESS CONTINUES UNTIL ALL THE NAMES HAVE BEEN DRAWN AND ALL OF THE PARTICIPANTS HAVE WRESTLED. LAST MAN STANDING WINS AND IS UNDISPUTED WORLD CHAMPION!
Dusek turns the hopper several times before stopping and pulling out two names. He hands the names to Lowrance...
LOWRANCE: SCOTT STEINER!!!
LOWRANCE: “MIDNIGHT SOLDIER” BRIAN ADAMS!!!
The two young powerhouses enter the ring. They shake hands and go at it! It's a battle of poer and athleticism. AT the 7:47 mark, Steiner amazes the crowd by hitting a frankensteiner on the massive Midnight Soldier and getting the 1-2-3!
A disappointed Adams kicks the ropes, but afterwards, he does the right thing and shakes Scott's hand and gestures for the fans to get behind Steiner! Magnum says that Adams will have plenty more title shots in his careeer!
LOWRANCE: Scott Steiner will face...

CARIBBEAN CHAMPION, CARLOS COLON!!!
During his prematch comments, Colon spoke of the wild and wooly style of wrestling they have in Puerto Rico. Colon demonstrates that style against Steiner! Stallone slugs away with lefts and rights and head butts! Scott looks like he's wobbly, but catches Carlitos in a running powerslam to knock him out of contention at the 15:13 mark! Magnum says he's feeling really good about his pick!
LOWRANCE: Batten down the hatches, folks, Steiner will now face, the MASTER OF PAIN!!!
Two of wrestling's rising stars collide next! These guys both rely on the power game and score several takedowns on their opponent. Scott goes for a Frankensteiner, but the Master holds onto him while he's upside down and delivers a tombtone piledriver! The fans are stunned as the Master pins Steiner at the 25:55 mark! Magnum wonders if anybosy can eliminate the Master of Pain!
LOWRANCE: the Master of Pain will now face your UWA TV Champion...”GENTLEMAN” CHRIS ADAMS!!!
Ok, it will be strength and size against speed, science, & skill in this matchup! The Master batters away at the Englishman while Adams fights back with martial arts kicks. The Master hits a vicious chokeslam on Adams and then gets him up for the tombstone. Adams kicks and wiggles, then slides oout of the big man's grasp and slips behind him! This seems to disorient Master for a second. When he turns around, he walks right into an Adams superkick! Chris covers him for the 1-2-3! The crowd pops huge for this David vs. Goliath type victory! Time: 32:11.
LOWRANCE: Ladies and gentlmen, up next...HACKSAW BUTCH REED!!!!
Another power vs. speed matchup! Reed's power give him the initial advantage as he throws Adams all over the ring! Adams fights back with a series of martial arts kicks. Reed whips Adams to the turnbuckles...Adams scurries to the top rope and hits Reed with a flying bodypress! Hacksaw rolls through and reverses! One...two...THREE! Hacksaw Reed advances!
After the bout, there's a handshake, then a hug. Adams lives up to the “Gentlman” moniker
as he insists on raising Reed's hand and gestures for the fans to make noise for Butch.
LOWRANCE: Up next....”MAD DOG' BUZZ SAWYER!!!
Buzz takes full advantage of the No DQ stip as he enters the cage with his dog chain! Sawyer batters Reed with the chain and even resorts to choking him with it! Reed manages to battle back by grabbing the chain and using it to swing Sawyer facefirst into the cage! Reed wraps the chain around his fist and uses it to beat Sawyer into a bloody pulp! Reed then lifts Sawyer into and overhead press position and throws the Mad Dog headlong into the cage like a dart! Sawyer collapses to the mat like a corpse and Reed covers for the three count! Time: 49:11.
LOWRANCE: The final entrant...your Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World...BIG VAN VADER!!!!
As Madusa applauds from ringside, the champ enters the ring! This segment begins with them engaging in various tests of strength. It seems that they are even. It doesn't take long before the match erupts into a brawl and this favors Reed. Reed gets a huge pop when he executes an overhead press slam on Vader! This really seems to hurt the champ and he seems to be favoring his back! Madusa gets on the mic and begins shrieking “NO PAIN!” Reed tries to wear the big man down with armlocks and a bear hug that Vader escapes by using a hot shot top manuver to send Butch into the cage! Vader gains the advantage after this and spends several minutes punishing his challenger as Madusa gets on the mic and urges Vader to “Play the pain game!” Vader does just that until reed turns the tables with a ring rattling bodyslam! Reed is really aggressive now, beating Vader all over the ring! Reed throws Vader face first into all four sides of the cage! Butch whips Vader into the corner and makes his fatal mistake! Reed charges, vader moves, and Reed goes shoulder first into the ring post! This obviously damages Reed! Vader hits a shoulder breaker on Reed! One...Two...THREE!
Incredibly, Vader survives the STEEL Gauntlet and retains the title!!!! Madusa enters the cage and leaps into his arms! Vader spins Madusa around!
UH OH! Here comes Terry Gordy! Gordy is climbing the cage, attempting to get at the Champion! Hayes, Roberts, and Frank Dusek are attempting to “talk him down”! Vader and Madusa leave the cage, retrieve the belt, and leave! Gordy gets into the ring and runs the rope like a wild man!

MAGNUM: Lee, if Vader walks out with that title here tonight, I'm not sure that he'll ever drop the belt!
MARSHALL: Also, a huge six man...it's a Badstreet USA match!
MAGNUM: Come as you are, anything goes...Freebirds against the Sheepherders and Rip Morgan! I think it will be all out war!
MARSHALL: We also have a Texas Death Match!
MAGNUM: That's right, Lee! “The Legend” Terry Funk will try to settle his differences with Outlaw Ron Bass in the match his father, Dory Funk, Sr. created! I hope we have enough time for this match! This goes until one man can't answer the bell! Funk and Bass won't go down without a fight!
MARSHALL: We have a fantastic tag team match to start us off!
BADD Company vs. The Hollywood Heartbreakers (w/Downtown Bruno):The speed, martial arts ability, and teamwork of Pat Tanka and Paul Diamond really give John Tatum & Jack Victory a tough time. Magnum says Bruno may regret choosing the Heartbreakers over BADD Company! When it seems like the Heartbreakers may be going down in defeat, Bruno's other client, Kokina charges into the ring! Kokina gives each member of Badd Co. a Samoan drop! Then, he piles them on top of each other and splashes bothe of them! In spite of the fact that they lost the match via DQ, Tatum, Victory, & Bruno celebrate Kokina's destruction of their opponents! Time:11:57.

The winner gets the chance to compete in the Steel Gauntlet for the Undisputed World Championship! Hacksaw Butch Reed has given you some trouble, gentlemen!
STUDD: He hasn't give me any trouble, Boni Blackstone! I've manhandled him every time we've been in the ring together! I'll beat him, then I'll go into that steel cage and I'll wreak havoc! You are looking at the next World Champion!
BONI: (to Humperdink) Butch Reed has bodyslammed your man on more than one occasion, yet he hasn't collected the $10,000 prize. Will the money be on the line here tonight?
HUMPERDINK: Listen, you meddling little hussy, the 10 grand is only on the line during Bodyslam Challenges, not in wrestling matches! I've made that perfectly clear, yet people keep asking these ignorant questions! We will win the World Championship here tonight! First, we will knock Hacksaw Butch Reed out of contention!
BONI: OK, let's say that Big John does qualify for the Steel Gauntlet. You have another man in that match-what happens if it comes down to Big John Studd and the Master of Pain!
STUDD: Then, these peons will have the privilege of seeing the greatest fight since Ali-Frazier! It will rock your world, Boni!
Hacksaw Butch Reed vs. Big John Studd(w/Sir Oliver Humperdink): Two of the most powerful men in wrestling in an all out slugfest! This match is very reminiscent of Butch's Mid-South years.To a big pop, Butch advances to the Steel Gauntlet as he pins Studd after a shoulderblock off the top turnbuckle in 12:03.
BONI: Butch, congratulations!
REED: Studd is a big, bad man, no doubt about it! Vader, you and all the rest of'em better be ready, 'cause the Hacksaw is on his way! That title is coming to me!
“Boy From New York City” plays over the sound system...
BONI: Sorry, Hacksaw, we have to fo to our next big match!
“Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant vs. Nord the Berzerker(w/Eddie Gilbert & Missy Hyatt): Naturally, there's not a wrestling hold applied as these two wildmen have an all out brawl! Gilbert attempts to interfere fail as Valiant decks him! When Missy tries to get involved, Valiant gives her a big ol' kiss! Missy appears nauseous! Valiant and Nord brawl outside the ring and are both counted out! Time:6:01.
UWA WORLD JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert(w/Missy Hyatt) vs. Dean Malenko: Gilbert asks for an hour to recover from being slugged by “that lunatic Jimmy Valiant”, but referee David Manning says “No way!” Gilbert does seem to be a step slower than Malenko tonight and Dean throughly outwrestles the champ for most of the way. Missy attempts to help, but accidentally nails her man with her Gucci bag. Malenko takes advantage of that and locks in the Texas cloverleaf. It looks like we'll have a new champ until Nord comes down, weaqring his viking helmet! Nord headbutts Malenko while wearing the helmet and Dean falls to the mat, out cold! Nord drops a series of legdrops on Malenko and then hoists him up into a backbreaker! David Manning gets on the mic and threatens to suspend Nord for 30 days if Gilbert doesn't call him off! That doesn't seem to phase “Hot Stuff”! Then, Manning threatens Gilbert and Hyatt with a 30 day suspension as well! That inspires Eddie and Missy to beg Nord to let up on Malenko! The First family members exit the arena!
Johnny Ace & the Nasty Boys (w/Missy Hyatt) vs. Cactus Jack & the Texas Broncos: “Hot Stuff” is evidently recovering from the last bout as only Missy Hyatt accompanies the First Family members. It's a Memphis style brawl as Jack continues his feud with Ace while Knobs and Sags seem to start a new rivalry with Kendall Windham & Dustin Rhodes! At the 7:47 mark, Rhodes bulldogs Sags and gets the pin! Missy protests to referee Scott LeDoux, who basically ignores her.
The theme from “The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly” plays and Ron Bass, flanked by Eddie Gilbert, comes to the ring. The music changes to “Desperado” by the Eagles to bring out Terry Funk, who is accompanied by Dory Funk, Jr.
TEXAS DEATH MATCH: “The Legend” Terry Funk (w/Dory Funk, Jr.) vs. Outlaw Ron Bass (W/”Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert):
FIRST FALL: After a few minutes of mat wrestling, advantage Funk, tempers flare and the two Texans slug it out! Bass uses a chain, handed to him by Gilbert to knock Funk down and get a pin in 6:12.
After a 30 second rest period, during which Dory yells encouragement at Terry and fans him with a towel, referee Carl Fergie begins his ten count. He gets to seven before Funk pulls himself up by the ropes and toes the line!
SECOND FALL: Bass beats Funk all over the ring before the former NWA champ catches him in an inside cradle for the pin in 3:47.
Bass is irate, stomping around the ring between falls as Gilbert tries and fails to calm him down. Finally, Gilbert resorts to slapping Bass across the face to motivate him. Fergie doesn't even bother to count at the end of the rest period since both men are ready to go!
THIRD FALL: Bass is like a madman! He viciously tears into Funk and gets a pin after a running powerslam in 4:02. Dory enters the ring to check on his younger brother between falls....
After 30 seconds, Fergie starts his count. Dory goes to the ring apron and stomps his foot, which leads to the fans calpping and stomping along! Fergie counts-One! Two! Three! Funk rolls onto his side and grabs the middle rope...Four! Funk grabs the top rope with his other hand...Five! Six!Funk pulls himself to his feet! Seven! Eight! Terry staggers to the center of the ring and toes the line! That was too close!
FOURTH FALL: Early on, Bass appears to load his glove. The Outlaw uses the risght hand that is under the glove to pound away, eventually busting Funk open! Bass applies the claw and gets yet another pin at the 7:01 mark of the fall! It looks bad for the Legend!
Between falls, Dory uses a towel to attempt to stop his brother's bleeding. Dory and Terry are conversing, Dunk looks gravely concerned for his brother! At the end of the rest period, Carl Fergie shoos Dory out of the ring. On the other side, Gilbert gave his man a pep talk and was doing a Fargo strut as Dory made his exit! The elder Funk and “Hot Stuff” have words and they aren't pleasant ones! Fergie again tolls his count. Terry doesn't even stir until the ref reaches six! Seven! Terry rolls onto his stomach and does a pushup to get to his knees! Eight! Terry's on one knee! Nine! He gets to his feet! He made it!
FIFTH FALL: the fans really get behind Funk and amazingly, he gives Bass all he can handle! Terry has it going his way when Gilbert slides a chair into the ring! Dory grabs a chair of his own and knocks Hot Stuff into next week! Bass bends over to get the steel chair in the ring! Funk stomps him in the gut! Bass drops the chair, bent over in pain! Funk piledrives Bass on the chair! One..Two...three!!!!The fall goes to Funk in 10:01!
Between falls, Terry is doing jumping jacks and shadow boxing while Bass lies in a heap! Gilbert yells encouragement at the Outlaw, but he's not stirring! AT the end of the 30 seconds, Gilbert retreats to the ring apron, still yelling for Bass to get up!

We have a split screen setup with Tito Santana on the left side, Austin Idol on the right, and Boni in a small box in the bottom center of the screen.
BONI: Before our American Title match, we will hear from both champion and challenger! Tito Santana, what do you have to say to Austin as well as our millions of viewers?
TITO: Austin, tonight, I finally get what I have wanted all along! You can run, but you can't hide, amigo! You can't be saved by the clock or a cheap DQ! You are a great wrestler, but I am confident that I will leave with your belt tonight! ARRIBA!
IDOL: My, my, my! You certainly have the talking part taken care of! DO you seriously think that you can waltz into my hometown, in front of my people, and take my prized possession with millions of my fans watching on pay per view from Tulsa to Tokyo?Absolutely not, my man! I am the ladies' pet, the men's regret, and your worst nightmare!
TITO: I say enough talking! Let's get it done! (Santana gets up and leaves)
IDOL: I've never seen a man in such a hurry to lose! Stick around, Boni, darlin, this won't take very long!
Tito Santana, always the blue collar type, makes a basic entrance-no music and wearing a T shirt with a UWA logo on the front with his gear. Tito high fives as many fans as possible as he jogs to the ring!
Idol, on the other hand, opts for a lavish intro! “We Don't Need Another Hero” by Tina Turner plays, there are laser lights and smoke, Idol wears a sequined Olivia Walker original. Idol blows a few kisses and walks as slowly as possible down the aisle, hoping to frustrate the challenger.
It doesn't seem to work as Tito stands stoically in the corner. Idol makes a big production of removing his robe. There is a contingent of female fans who scream at the sight of Austin's physique, but the boos are even louder. It seems like even here in Vegas,fans are becoming disgruntled with Austin.
AMERICAN TITLE MATCH: NO TIME LIMIT OR DQ! “Universal Heartthrob”Austin Idol © vs. Tito Santana: Both men are past masters of the figure four and spend a great deal of time attempting to work the other's leg. Idol takes full advantage of the No DQ stip by wrapping Tito's leg around the ring post and slamming it with a chair! This hurts Tito, but also serves to fire him up. Santanna makes a limping comeback and fires away at Idol with punches and forearms! Idol uses a low blow to regain the momentum and soon has Tito in position for the figure four! Tito counters with an inside cradle! ONE...TWO...THREE!!!!!
TITO SANTANNA WINS THE AMERICAN TITLE!!!! TITO HOLDS THE BELT IN THE AIR! ARRIBA!!! SEVERAL BABYFACES ENTER THE RING TO CONGRATULATE THE NEW CHAMPION!!!
A disgusted and disappointed Idol refuses a handshake from Tito and slinks away in defeat!
Boni Blackstone is standing by...
BONI: It's been a wild night! I'm sure it's about to get even wilder! I'm joined by the leader of the Fabulous Freebirds, Michael Hayes! The Badstreet USA match is next and you are dressed for it!
HAYES: Yes, I am! What all the best dressed gentlmen on Badstreet are wearing this year! Official badstreet, USA T shirt! Blue jeans, complete with heavy leather belt and huge buckle! Broken down cowboy boots! Taped fists! And from the jewelry counter! (pulls out a chain and wraps it around his fist)! Bamm Bamm and Buddy Jack are ready, too! Sheepherders, you stole our title belts! You run down our country every chance you get! Tonight, you are takin a walk down Badstreet! It's easy to get there, but it's hard to get away! Like the Eagles said, you can check out any time ya want, but you can never leave! Man, we've seen some great matches tonight! But this best is yet to come, sweet Bon Bon!

A single spotlight shines on The Sheepherders and Rip Morgan as they make their entrance as “Imperial Death March” from Star Wars plays. All three have taped fists. Morgan waves the New Zealand flag on a steel pole. Luke Williams is wearing a caol miner's type glove. Butch Miller carries a trash can. The heels enter the ring and salute the flag. The music is brought down. Luke Williams grabs Mark Lowrance's mic and adresses David Manning.
WILLIAMS: OK, yank, it's obvious they ain't showing up! Call for the bell and raise our hands!
“Badstreet USA” blasts throughout the arena! The Freebirds do show up! They are dressed for a street fight! Roberts is even wearing a Georgia Bulldogs football helmet!
BADSTREET USA MATCH: Fabulous Freebirds vs. The Sheepherders & Rip Morgan: An all out street fight! All six men are bleeding within five minutes! The climax comes at around the 8 minute mark. Rip is bashing Gordy with his flagpole when hayes takes the flag away from Rip and starts bashing Luke with it! Hayes sends Williams over the top rope and then throws the flag down on top of the fallen Sheepherder! Meanwhile, Gordy has applied the spike on Rip Morgan! Roberts bulldogs Butch Miller onto the garbage can that the Sheeps brought in! Referee Manning says Rip is unable to continue and calls for the bell! The Freebirds win!
Wait a second! Big Van Vader has arrived at ringside with Madusa Miceli by his side! Vader has the mic!
VADER: Hey, Gordy! That looks like fun! I have an idea! They're having another pay per view on Halloween Night! I say you and me fight for my belt that night in a BADSTREET MATCH!!!!
Gordy is gesturing for Vader to bring it on!
VADER: Not tonight, boy! I'm gonna tear througfh seven other wrestlers in the STEEL GAUNTLET and show the world who's the boss! I'll get to you later! Wait yer turn!
Vader leaves! The other two Freebirds have to restrain Bamm Bamm! Halloween is almost two months away and I can't wait!
MARSHALL: While we wait for our ring crew to construct the STEEL GAUNTLET cage, we will have the rare opportunity to hear from each of the participants prior to what will be the biggest match of their respective careers!
MAGNUM: I can recall preparing for big, high stakes matches. I'd try not to be nervous and go over strategy and scouting reports in my mind. I'd also try to get in a light workout and some stretching. The body and mind both have to be ready!
We see Carlos Colon. Carlos stands in front of a green screen with a Caribbean beach projected on it.
COLON: Look, I realize that many people watching may not know me. I hope many of my fans in places like Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Trinidad, and Tobago are watching the broadcast. If they are, let me thank you for your support. I will fight hard to bring the World Title home to you! For those of you not familiar with Carlos Colon or Caribbean wrestling: The wrestling down there is very violent and hard hitting. I am no stranger to cage matches! I have had at least 200 in my career! I have also had chain matches, barbed wire matches, even a match with the ring surrounded by fire! I have more experience in wild, violent matches than all of the other men in this match combinded! I am ready for anything!
Cut to a locker room. There we see Eddie Gilbert, Missy Hyatt, and Buzz Sawyer.
GILBERT: Buzz, it ain't been the best of nights for the First Family! We need that World Title! Do you understand me?
MISSY: In fact, if you can't bring that belt back to the First Family dressing room, don't come back here at all!You already lost one title! Don't let us down again!
Gilbert grab's Sawyer's dog chain and begins whipping him across the back with it!
GILBERT: I want you mean, Mad Dog! Mad and mean and vicious! It's now or never! I wanna hear bones cracking and see blood oozing out of eyeballs! Git mean!
SAWYER: (to camera) I'm walking out with that title! None of the rest of them geeks are walking out at all! AHWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ADAMS: When I first heard about the STEEL GAUNTLET, I said “That sounds impossible!” I didn't want any part of it! Then, I began to think-I've never backed down from a fight in my life! There's never been a challenge that I didn't meet head on! This is my chance to be the Undisputed World Champion! Opportunities like this don't come along every day! As long as I have the strength for one superkick, I'm still in it! With the support of my great fans, I'm very confident about tonight!
“Midnight Soldier” Brian Adams is sitting on a bench, doing preacher curls with a dumbell.
ADAMS: 99...100! OK, I'm physically and mentally prepared for the biggest match of my lifetime! With the Midnight Army behind me, there's no way I can ever lose! Vader, polish that belt until it shines, 'cause it's coming to the Army tonight!
Scott Steiner, dressed in his Michigan letter jacket, stands in front of the UWA logo.
STEINER: I've been preparing my whole life for this moment! This is my shot at the biggest prize in the world! If I win tonight, I can put on that belt, look the world in the eye, and say “Scott Steiner is the best in the world!” I hope this don't sound cocky, but I like my chances!
Butch Reed sits on a stool in a dressing room.
REED: I just go through whuppin that Big John Studd! He says he's a giant, but I chopped his beanstalk down! I still got enough left for the STEEL GAUNTLET! (holds up fists) The left is iron, the right is steel! If the left don't get ya, the right one will! That goes for you, too, Van Vader!The Hacksaw is coming for that title!
The Master of Pain and Sir Oliver Humperdink sit on wicker chairs. There is a wicker table with a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket and two glasses on the table.
SOH: Master of Pain, I already have the champagne on ice! I want you to be ready for the STEEL GAUNTLET! Those other guys wouldn't be there if they weren't tough! Especially watch out for Reed! You saw how he used every rulebreaking tactic in the book against Big John earlier!
MASTER: Sir Oliver, I'm used to fighting in cages! I was in stir for five years! I fought killers, gang members, Mafia hit men, you name it! These punks don't intimidate me, not even that slob Big Van Vader!Don't worry about Butch Reed, I gotta heart punch with his name on it!
We cut to ringside. As “Bad To The Bone” plays, all eight competitors enter the arena and surround the cage! During the entrance, Magnum picks Scott Steiner to win, while Lee says his money is on Butch Reed! On the other side of the ring, Boni, Mark and Frank Dusek stand beside the same rotary hopper that we used at Battle Bowl.
BONI: Here's how we'll proceed, UWA President, Frank Duske will draw names at random, he'll hand the names to Mark Lowrance, who will introduce the next contender!

The two young powerhouses enter the ring. They shake hands and go at it! It's a battle of poer and athleticism. AT the 7:47 mark, Steiner amazes the crowd by hitting a frankensteiner on the massive Midnight Soldier and getting the 1-2-3!
A disappointed Adams kicks the ropes, but afterwards, he does the right thing and shakes Scott's hand and gestures for the fans to get behind Steiner! Magnum says that Adams will have plenty more title shots in his careeer!

During his prematch comments, Colon spoke of the wild and wooly style of wrestling they have in Puerto Rico. Colon demonstrates that style against Steiner! Stallone slugs away with lefts and rights and head butts! Scott looks like he's wobbly, but catches Carlitos in a running powerslam to knock him out of contention at the 15:13 mark! Magnum says he's feeling really good about his pick!
LOWRANCE: Batten down the hatches, folks, Steiner will now face, the MASTER OF PAIN!!!
Two of wrestling's rising stars collide next! These guys both rely on the power game and score several takedowns on their opponent. Scott goes for a Frankensteiner, but the Master holds onto him while he's upside down and delivers a tombtone piledriver! The fans are stunned as the Master pins Steiner at the 25:55 mark! Magnum wonders if anybosy can eliminate the Master of Pain!
LOWRANCE: the Master of Pain will now face your UWA TV Champion...”GENTLEMAN” CHRIS ADAMS!!!
Ok, it will be strength and size against speed, science, & skill in this matchup! The Master batters away at the Englishman while Adams fights back with martial arts kicks. The Master hits a vicious chokeslam on Adams and then gets him up for the tombstone. Adams kicks and wiggles, then slides oout of the big man's grasp and slips behind him! This seems to disorient Master for a second. When he turns around, he walks right into an Adams superkick! Chris covers him for the 1-2-3! The crowd pops huge for this David vs. Goliath type victory! Time: 32:11.
LOWRANCE: Ladies and gentlmen, up next...HACKSAW BUTCH REED!!!!
Another power vs. speed matchup! Reed's power give him the initial advantage as he throws Adams all over the ring! Adams fights back with a series of martial arts kicks. Reed whips Adams to the turnbuckles...Adams scurries to the top rope and hits Reed with a flying bodypress! Hacksaw rolls through and reverses! One...two...THREE! Hacksaw Reed advances!

Buzz takes full advantage of the No DQ stip as he enters the cage with his dog chain! Sawyer batters Reed with the chain and even resorts to choking him with it! Reed manages to battle back by grabbing the chain and using it to swing Sawyer facefirst into the cage! Reed wraps the chain around his fist and uses it to beat Sawyer into a bloody pulp! Reed then lifts Sawyer into and overhead press position and throws the Mad Dog headlong into the cage like a dart! Sawyer collapses to the mat like a corpse and Reed covers for the three count! As Madusa applauds from ringside, the champ enters the ring! This segment begins with them engaging in various tests of strength. It seems that they are even. It doesn't take long before the match erupts into a brawl and this favors Reed. Reed gets a huge pop when he executes an overhead press slam on Vader! This really seems to hurt the champ and he seems to be favoring his back! Madusa gets on the mic and begins shrieking “NO PAIN!” Reed tries to wear the big man down with armlocks and a bear hug that Vader escapes by using a hot shot top manuver to send Butch into the cage! Vader gains the advantage after this and spends several minutes punishing his challenger as Madusa gets on the mic and urges Vader to “Play the pain game!” Vader does just that until reed turns the tables with a ring rattling bodyslam! Reed is really aggressive now, beating Vader all over the ring! Reed throws Vader face first into all four sides of the cage! Butch whips Vader into the corner and makes his fatal mistake! Reed charges, vader moves, and Reed goes shoulder first into the ring post! This obviously damages Reed! Vader hits a shoulder breaker on Reed! One...Two...THREE!
Incredibly, Vader survives the STEEL Gauntlet and retains the title!!!! Madusa enters the cage and leaps into his arms! Vader spins Madusa around!
UH OH! Here comes Terry Gordy! Gordy is climbing the cage, attempting to get at the Champion! Hayes, Roberts, and Frank Dusek are attempting to “talk him down”! Vader and Madusa leave the cage, retrieve the belt, and leave! Gordy gets into the ring and runs the rope like a wild man!
