REED: after last week, I wanted a match with Big John Studd, one on one! That weasel, Oliver Humperdink said, “NO! You gotta fight all of the House of Humperdink!” That's ok! I've made a few friends around here!
Jimmy Valiant bursts into the picture!
VALIANT: Mercy! Sho got that right! Humperdink, I've fought you from Tennessee to West Virginia to Florida and back again! Butch Reed is my brother! Pistol Pez is my brother! And this stud athlete right here is my brother, too!
Pez Whatley and Scott Steiner are here, too!
WHATLEY: Whenever Butch and Jimmy need backup, they can count on me!
STEINER: House of Humperdink, bring it on!
VTR: Sir Oliver Humperdink stands in the ring, surrounded by Big John Studd, Master of Pain, Bobby Jaggers, & Kabuki!
HUMPERDINK: Look at this incredible arrary of talent! Butch Reed, you and your raggedy band of rejects are no match for this well oiled machine that I have put together!
VTR: Buzz Sawyer, Missy Hyatt, and Eddie Gilbert stand in a blackened studio...
SAWYER: Fe fi fo fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman! Chris Adams, ain't no way you're takin my TV Title tonight or any other night!
GILBERT: Adams, you're no match for my Mad Dog! The TV Title is staying right here where it's at!

A rugged looking trio of journeymen wrestlers stand ready in the ring. “Texas When I Die” by Tanya Tucker plays and three of wrestling's rising stars enter the arena!
The Texas Broncos & Cactus Jack vs. Frankie DeFalco, Jack Armstrong, & Great Wojo: Windham, Rhodes, and Jack work pretty well as a team. Kendall pins DeFalco after a bulldog!

As “The Imperial Death March” from Star Wars plays, the House of Humperdink marches to the ring, led by their indominatable manager!
“Boy From New York City” by the Manhattan Transfer brings their amazingly popular opponents to the ring!
Hacksaw Butch Reed, “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant, Scott Steiner, & Pistol Pez Whatley vs. Big John Studd, Master of Pain, Great Kabuki, & Hangman Bobby Jaggers (w/Sir Oliver Humperdink): This match quickly degenerates into a brawl! While Studd and Reed brawl on the floor, Valiant catches Kabuki with a big elbow drop to score the pin for the faces! Reed actually bodyslams Studd on the floor outside the ring! After that, Humperdink convinces his stable to retreat!
Reed joins Boni Blackstone!
BONI: Your team beat the House of Humperdink!
REED: And I slammed Big John one more time! Where's my ten grand? And why haven't they put me in the main event at Viva Las Vegas? I think I've earned a title shot! Don't you think so, Boni?
BONI: You've proven yourself, no doubt about it!

HUMPERDINK: You don't get any money! The money is only on the line during an official Bodyslam Challenge and you must slam him in the center of the ring and not outside of the ring! As for the Steel Gauntlet, my man Studd is undefeated since arriving in the UWA! Studd deserves to be in that Steel Gauntlet!
UWA President Frank Dusek is here!
DUSEK: I just arrived after a meeting of the UWA Board of Governors! They have decided that Butch Reed and John Studd are both deserving of a place in the Steel Gauntlet! Therefore, at VIVA LAS VEGAS, Butch Reed and John Studd will meet in a qualifying match and the winner will gain entry into the Steel Gauntlet match!
REED: That's good enough for me! You tell Studd that I'll see him in Vegas!
HUMPERDINK: Unfair! What a biased decision! Steiner didn't have to wrestle a qualifying match! Neither did Adams! Neither did Colon! Why should the one true giant of professional wrestling be subjected to this? Ridiculous!
DUSEK: That's the ruling, Oliver! Studd will have to deal with it! The House of Humperdink potentially two men in the match! You should be satisfied with that!
BONI: The World Champion will compete when we return!

Big Van Vader(w/Madusa Miceli) vs. Fantasma: The Undisputed World Champion faces an opponent from the world of lucha libre. Fantasma's speed helps for a while, but Vader eventually crushes the masked man with a ring rattling powerbomb to score a convincing win. Fantasma is stretchered out after the match! Magnum says if anybody can survive the Steel Gauntlet and be champion at the end of it, it's Vader!

Dean Malenko vs. Doug Vines: The man who will challenge for Eddie Gilbert's World Junior Heavyweight Title at VIVA LAS VEGAS faces a vetran challenger in the “Bad Boy”. Gilbert and Missy Hyatt come to ringside to scout Malenko during his match. Malenko puts on a clinic and scores a submission victory with his Texas cloverleaf. Gilbert sarcastically applauds Malenko after the bout.
VTR:
Carlos Colon stands on a beach in his wreestling gear with a title belt around his waist. He addresses the camera....
COLON: I am Carlos Colon. I am the Caribbean Heavyweight Champion here in my homeland of Puerto Rico. I am excited to be here on UWA FURY! I am even more excited to be a part of the Steel Gauntlet match on September 5th! This is a big opportunity for me! I am going to give my best effort to win the match and bring the Undisputed World Title home to Puerto Rico! It won't be easy, but I'm going to fight as hard as I can!

Outlaw Ron Bass vs. Steve Keirn: Two veterans have a hard fought match. Keirn give the rugged Texan all he can handle, but Bass catches Keirn in the claw! Keirn is on the ropes when Bass applies the hold, but the Outlaw refuses to break! Keirn is bleeding and in serious trouble! Referee David Manning has disqualified Bass, but Ron still refuses to release the hold! Here comes Terry Funk! Funk slugs away at Bass, forcing the big Outlaw to release the claw! Funk knocks Bass out of the ring! This adds even more heat to the upcoming Texas Death Match!

LUKE: AAAHHHHHHAAAA! You can call it wrestling if you want to, love! It's going to be fighting and scratching! Biting and gouging! It's gonna be bloody World War III!
BUTCH: That's right, cousin! Rip is ready! Did you see what he just did, Terry Gordy! You think you're big and tough! Did you see what Rip did to those blokes?
LUKE: He left'em for dead, cousin! And he'll do the same to the bloody Freebirds!
BUTCH: You Yanks can holler “USA!” all night! It won't help those redneck Freebirds! We'll bleed them dry, do you Yanks understand what we're telling you? This is the last you'll see of hippie Hayes and drunken Roberts and that gorilla Terry Gordy! They'll leave bloody Vegas in disgrace! And we'll be World Tag Team Champions for as long as we want to be!

BONI: Here's a piece of video we recently received from Amarillo, Texas!
VTR:
The camera is zoomed in on a picture of Dory Funk, Sr. hanging on a wall. We zoom out to see that we are inside what appears to be a barn with a wrestling ring set up inside of it. Doery Funk, Jr. and Dory Funk, Jr. are working out in the ring. Cactus Jack stands on the ring aprong with a stopwatch. Dory gets a single leg on Terry and attempts the spinning toehold, but Terry kicks him off and sends his older brother sprawling out of the ring!
CACTUS: Time!
DORY: That was 30 minutes? Didn't seem that long!
CACTUS: Well, there were 7 ½ hours before that!
TERRY: Time flies when you're having fun! (to camera) My brother and me have been going at in this ring for 8 hours now! Cactus has been good enough to help us out! This is how our father, God rest his soul, prepared for a Texas Death Match in his day! Eight hour shifts! This is what ya have to do because a Texas Death Match could possibly go 8 hours! Or 8 days! Until one man doesn't answer the ten count!
Dory, with a towel around his neck , re-enters the ring.
DORY: Ron Bass, my brother has never been as ready for anything in his life! At VIVA LAS VEGAS, you're in for the fight of your life! No way in the world, my brother will lose the match that our daddy invented! You're looking at Terry Funk! Meaner than a rattlesnake, tougher than boot leather, and next to me, the best wrestler to ever come from the great state of Texas!
TERRY: Bass, we've gone round and round and this match will settle our little problem once and for all!
DORY: We had better get cleaned up.
TERRY: Yeah, we still have some fence to mend over on the back 40! We also promised ol' Cactus that we'd show him how to brand calves!
CACTUS: I always wanted to be a cowboy! (to camera) Ron Bass, you're going down! Hot Stuff and Missy won't be able to help you this time!

Sawyer dishes out a vicious beating and it looks like it will be a convincing title defense until Adams hits a superkick out of nowhere and scores the pin!
