They welcome us to this week’s episode of the World Wrestling Kingdom!
Four big matches are on tap this week! The Guerrero brothers, Chavo and Eddy, meet Mighty Inoue and Isao Takagi!
The Young Gunns are here again this week, and they’ll face the pairing of veteran Masanobu Fuchi and super rookie Kenta Kobashi!
Stan Hansen squares off with Shunji Takano!
And, the feature bout is a big 6-man tag team match, as Jumbo Tsuruta teams up with Tatsumi Fujinami and Dory Funk Jr to face Genichiro Tenryu, Masa Saito and youngster Shinya Hashimoto! This is Hashimoto’s first real opportunity to take part in a match of this calibre!
CHAVO & EDDY GUERRERO defeat MIGHTY INOUE & ISAO TAKAGI. Los Guerreros get the win after a hard-fought match when Chavo forces Inoue to submit to the Gory Special.
VTR: Hansen/Brody vs Tsuruta/Tenta, 7-2-88, JIP:
Tsuruta and Tenta are two of the few people in wrestling with the size and power to match Hansen and Brody!
Despite that, the gaijins control a good chunk of the match, and they get the win when Hansen drops Tenta with a vicious Western Lariat for the 1, 2, 3!
END VTR
Wakabayashi and Yamamoto talk about the footage we just saw, which was John Tenta’s pro wrestling debut, after several years as a sumo wrestler!
We then go to John Tenta in the dressing room after last week’s main event.
Tenta says that he still has a long way to go to be at the level of men like Jumbo Tsuruta, Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody, and says that it was an honour just being a part of that match last week! He says that he never experienced anything in sumo wrestling as devastating as that Lariat from Stan Hansen!
Tenta says that he hopes the fans will continue to support him, and that they’ll go along on this journey with him.
THE YOUNG GUNNS: SHANE DOUGLAS & JOHNNY GUNN beat MIGHTY INOUE & KENTA KOBASHI. Last week, Douglas and Gunn defeated Inoue and Isamu Teranishi. This week, Inoue’s got a young man, who fans have started calling the “super rookie”, Kenta Kobashi as his partner.
Unfortunately for Inoue, the result is the same, as Gunn pins Kobashi after hoisting Kenta up onto his shoulders in a sitting position, with Douglas then hitting a dropkick from the top rope!
STAN HANSEN beats SHUNJI TAKANO. Hansen makes short work of Takano, hitting a devastating Western Lariat for the pinfall victory.
JUMBO TSURUTA & TATSUMI FUJINAMI & DORY FUNK JR beat GENICHIRO TENRYU & MASA SAITO & SHINYA HASHIMOTO. After a wild, hard-hitting match, Tatsumi Fujinami picks up the win for his team when he pins Hashimoto after the Dragon Suplex!
After the match, Tatsumi Fujinami takes the mic from the ring announcer, and issues a challenge to Tenryu for a shot at the King’s Crown!
Wakabayashi and Yamamoto wrap things up, and hype next week’s show.
