Ole announces that in addition to the Great American Bash on PPV and closed-circuit July 4, the GREAT AMERICAN BASH ON TOUR will follow, and already, ATLANTA, NORFOLK, GREENSBORO, AUGUSTA GA, ORLANDO, AND FAYETTEVILLE NC have secured dates with more to follow!
Ole: “Next week Lance we will be announcing matches for July 4 and more cities and dates for the Great American Bash, but most important, DUSTY RHODES will be defending the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP in Charlotte, and we will have a press conference announcing the NUMBER ONE CONTENDER, and that man will wrestle the American Dream for the title!
Wendi: “That’s exciting news Mr. Anderson, but what I want to know is when these two men get the world tag team title match THEY deserve against Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard!

Lance: “Thank you for that Lance and knowing Ole Anderson, he make up for that Garvin-Manny match to the viewers! Dream, you heard it from Ole . . .who do YOU think you will wrestle July 4 at the Great American Bash for the biggest prize in sports, the World Heavyweight Championship?
Dusty: “Next week Lance Russell! The biiiiig announcement is scheduled to be made. Who will it be? Could it be Jerry “The King” Lawler, the former champion? Terry Taylor is the US Heavyweight Champion and that makes him the #1 contender according to the wrestling magazines. An up and comer is Ron Simmons, the National Champion, but he hasn’t beaten Terry Taylor yet. I’ve even heard rumors Hulk Hogan, Barry Windham and Bob Backlund want to step up and take the MOST Prestigious title of them all right here! “

THREE ONE MINUTE ROUNDS
REFEREES POSITION VIA COIN TOSS STARTS EACH ROUND
ONE COUNT WINS
MIKE ROTONDO V RICK STEINER w/Gary Hart
After some arguing between Steiner, Hart and the ref, the ref flips the coin, and it will be Steiner on top and Rotondo on bottom in the referee's position! The bell rings, and Steiner spends most of the first-round riding Rotondo, trying to get him into a pinning predicament, but Rotondo escapes and the first round is over as the bell rings, Steiner tries to keep fighting but the ref must break it up and THREATENS STEINER WITH A DQ!
The ref flips the coin for the second round, and this time MIKE wins! There are more delays and clowning as Steiner seems reluctant to take the bottom of the referees position, with Steiner standing up several times with him and Gary Hart objecting to one thing after another EVERY TIME Mike Rotondo is getting into position, but finally the ref gets a brief second where he finally gets them set and immediately orders the bell rung and MIKE ROTONDO IS ALL OVER STEINER, and throws him and suplexes him several times! But he can’t cover Steiner who at :50 puts Rotondo in a full nelson, but the referee orders the move broken, it’s not a legal college move! Steiner and the ref argue as the bell rings!
David: “Fans, looks like its gonna take 3 rounds to settle this!
Coin flip, and STEINER WINS, they get into position and even before the bells rings, STEINER PUSHES ROTONDO DOWN, the ref argues with Steiner but allows the action to continue. STEINER USES THE ADVANTAGE TO GET A SUPLEX! Then, he throws Rotondo into the ropes and a BACK-BODY DROP! How is using the ropes a college rules move? They finally go into a collar and elbow lockup, Steiner with a standing switch, he goes for a suplex:
NO! ROTONDO GETS UNDER HIS WITH A SAMOAN DROP AND COVERS STEINER:
ONE! IT’S A PIN AND ROTONDO WINS THE MATCH, Rotondo gets the duke from the ref and leaves and glad-hands the fans as Steiner and Hart jump around, angry at the result! Steiner even has the stones to slap the ring three times as part of his complaint, hey Rick it’s a Modified College Rules match, only one count, and you knew that!

Rick: “COLLEGE??? THIS IS PRO WRESTLING! Mike Rotondo, I still say I am the better man than you, and Michigan is superior to Syracuse, and I challenge you TO A PRO RULES WRESTLING MATCH!
Steiner storms off!
Lance: “Well, it seems like we have a sore loser here, maybe that pro wrestling match is what Rick Steiner should have asked for in the first place! Let’s go to the ring, folks!

ARN ANDERSON + TULLY BLANCHARD w/JJ DILLON V THE FANTASTICS
The Fantastics hammer AA and Tully around the ring like rag dolls and are hot early on scoring near pinfall after near pinfall, 5 minutes in Bobby Fulton is thrown out of the ring and the ref is distracted, JJ DILLON POSTS BOBBY FULTON AND THROWS HIM BACK IN! Fulton is holding his head, and AA and Tully batter him until he makes the HOT TAG AT 9:12, AND ITS ALL ON!
The finish sees Tommy Rogers with Tully in a pinfall predicament as Arn tries to bust Fulton up, but JJ is on the apron, and argues with the ref, Fulton is posted again and knocked out this time, AA slides into the ring and kicks Rogers in the back, and this allows Tully to flop on him, JJ jumps down, the ref sees Tully on top of Rogers: 1-2-3!!!!
BUT AA AND TULLY AREN’T DONE! THEY WANT TO END THE FANTASTICS THREAT TO THEIR TITLES ONCE AND FOR ALL AND PUT THE BOOTS TO THEM!

Lawler calls out Ole and makes this proposal:
Lawler: “Terry Taylor, let’s play ‘Let’s Make a Deal’. Ole Anderson, if there was a match between me and this man for the US title, surely you would agree the winner should be #1 contender to Dusty Rhodes, would you not agree?
Ole: “Well, King, that match has never been held, but yes, I’d say that would seal the deal.
Lawler: “That’s what I thought. Terry. All things even, one man versus one man means the odds are 50-50 in that scenario you or I get the world title. Why, I’m sure you think it’s over 50% in your favor, fair enough.
“Now, if this man holds this press conference next week, who KNOWS who can show up. I’d say you would still be the odds-on favorite to get selected to be #1 contender. But if I show up, Ron Simmons shows up, and who knows, Hulk Hogan? Ric Flair? Inoki? Andre the Giant? As great as a US Heavyweight champion you are, who knows how the championship committee will vote?
“Here’s my offer, Taylor and think this over carefully: you can allow this man Ole Anderson, who let’s face it, is not known as the most trustworthy individual in professional wrestling . .
Lance: “All right King, that’s not needed . ..

I am going to postpone that press conference for next week, and give this man one week to make a choice: Terry Taylor, do you want to put your belt on the line with this man Jerry Lawler and the winner takes all and gets the title shot at Dusty Rhodes, and I can GUARANTEE that will be the case, or leave it to the championship committee? I am going to postpone that press conference for next week, and give this man one week to make a choice: Terry Taylor, do you want to put your belt on the line with this man Jerry Lawler and the winner takes all and gets the title shot at Dusty Rhodes, and I can GUARANTEE that will be the case, or leave it to the championship committee? Is THAT honest enough for you Jerry Lawler!
