The program opens with video of Kerry Von Erich applying the claw to Tatsumi Fujinami. We see Kerry holding title aloft. Bill Mercer opens the show.
Mercer, “We have a new World Champion! Kerry Von Erich defeated Tatsumi Fujinami at Texas Stadium. We will talk to Kerry later in the program. Also, at the Parade of Champions, the Midnight Rockers came close to winning the tag team titles. Two other big events happened, Sgt Slaughter now is in possession of Hacksaw Jim Duggan’s American flag, we will talk to Hacksaw later in the show. Now let look at some film from last Sunday.”
We see Kevin Sullivan, and “The Army of Darkness” attack Kevin Von Erich, and Billy Jack Haynes come to Kevin’s aid. Marc Lowrance is with Kevin, and Billy Jack.
Lowrance, “With me are Kevin Von Erich, and Billy Jack Haynes. Gentleman, Kevin Sullivan, and his ‘Army’ seems to have singled you out.”
Kevin, “Marc, Sullivan is nuts, and so are those lunatics with him. Billy Jack came to help me, and I’m glad he did.”
Haynes, “I don’t know Kevin very well, but there was no way I was going to let Sullivan do that. I just couldn’t.”
Lowrance, “Kevin, you meet Sullivan in our main event tonight.”
Kevin, “I’m ready for anything he throws at me!”
Haynes, “And if anyone gets involved, I’ll be there too!”
Lowrance, “What a Main Event! Let’s go to the ring, and Ralph Pulley.”
Match #1
The Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering vs. Bob Marcus and Gino Carabello
The Warriors storm the ring, and attack their opponents. They start with Marcus, and move onto Carabello. They dish out punishment, and the crowd loves it. The end comes with the doomsday device.

Billy Jack Haynes vs. El Diablo
The muscular Billy Jack arrived with a bang. He has inserted himself into the Kevin Von Erich-Kevin Sullivan situation. Billy goes right after the masked man.Billy uses his strength to control the action. Diablo tries several underhanded tactics, but Nilly is too much. He clamped on the full Nelson and Diablo submits.

Austin Idol vs. AJ Petruzzi
“The Universal Heartthrob” made a spectacular debut at Texas Stadium. He is well built, and very talented. He goes right to work on the rugged Pennsylvania deer hunter. Idol is smooth, and he is on his game. Petruzzi puts up a fight, but Idol is too much. He uses the Las Vegas leglock for the win. We have another superstar in WWI!

Rip Oliver vs. SD Jones
“The Crippler” has been very impressive since adding in WWI. Jones starts fast. He has Oliver in retreat. Rip rakes the eyes to stop SD. Oliver is in control, and wins with a shoulder breaker.

Marc Lowrance is with Kerry Von Erich.
Lowrance, “With me is the new World Champion. Kerry, congratulations!”
Kerry, “Thank you Marc. It means a lot to me to be Champion, and even better to win it in a Texas.”
Lowrance, “There are many wrestlers who would like a shot at the title. I know Fujinami want a rematch, and you have Ken Patera, Kevin Sullivan, Sgt Slaughter, Jumbo Tsuruta, and many others.”
Kerry, “When you have the title, you’re a target. I like it that way, I’m not giving this up without a fight.”
Lowrance, “The World Champion is in our next match.”
Match #5
Non-Title Match
Kerry Von Erich (World Champion) vs. Randy Barber
The Ft. Worth crowd goes crazy when the new World Champion comes to the ring. Barber is big, and strong, but he’s no match for Kerry. The Champion wrestles with even more confidence. He controls the action, and wins with a discus punch.
Winner-Kerry Von Erich
Marc Lowrance is with General Skandor Akbar, and Sgt Slaughter. Slaughter holds Hacksaw Jim Duggan’s American flag.
Lowrance, “With me are General Skandor Akbar, and Sgt Slaughter. General Akbar, Sgt Slaughter didn’t beat Jim Duggan at the ‘Parade of Champions’, but he did manage to steal the American flag.”
Akbar, “Watch it Lowrance! Biased officiating cost Slaughter the match. Duggan wasn’t man enough to protect his flag, and now we have it!”
Slaughter, “Duggan I defended that flag for a long time! I defended it from Hippies like you! You’re a disgrace, I proved it!”
Akbar, “Duggan, if you want the flag back, come get it!”
Lowrance, “I’m sure Hacksaw will want to do just that.”
Match #6
Sgt Slaughter w/General Skandor Akbar vs. Jose Luis Rivera
Slaughter waves Duggan’s flag on the way to the ring. Rivera gives up a lot of size, and experience, but he is game. The Puerto Rican uses his speed, and Slaughter doesn’t know what hit him. Akbar shouts instructions, ans Sarge rallies. Rivera puts up a good fight, but Slaughter is too much. He clamps on the cobra clutch, and it’s all over.

Kevin Sullivan vs. Kevin Von Erich
Sullivan is not accompanied by the “Army of Darkness”. That could be a bad sign. You know they are around, and could attack at any time. Von Erich returned at Texas Stadium, and hasn’t missed a beat. David Manning will try to referee this.The match begins with wrestling. As wild as Sullivan is, he is still a skilled wrestler. Von Erich gets the better of things, and Sullivan goes to the roughhouse tactics. Von Erich fights back. Von Erich backs Sullivan into the corner. He pounds away.Sullivan whips Von Erich into the corner. Manning gets in the way, and Von Erich crashes into the referee. Manning goes down. Von Erich starts after Sullivan. Suddenly, a very provocatively dressed woman climbs up on the ring apron. She is carrying a bag. She hands it to Sullivan, and he pulls a large spike out of it. He smashes into Von Erich’s Head. He is lacerated, and he is out. Sullivan tosses the spike back to the woman. He covers Von Erich. Manning has made it to his feet. He counts the fall! Billy Jack Haynes hits the ring. Sullivan, and the woman, head to the back. You can hear Sullivan screaming over, and over, “Kill the head, and the body dies,!” Medical personnel check on Von Erich. Haynes argues with Manning, but Manning hears none of it.
Winner-Kevin Sullivan
Bill Mercer closes show.
Mercer, “Fans, What did we just witness? ‘The Master of Darkness’ strikes again! Who was that woman? So many questions. Maybe some will be answered next week. We know that we will have an exciting main event, the World Tag Team Title will be on the line. The Midnight Express will defend against the Midnight Rockets. Don’t miss it As we leave the air, watch this.”
We see fireworks, and hear patriotic music.
Voice over, “On July 4, at the Capital Center in Washington DC, the ‘Firecracker Spectacular’!”
