Mercer, “Welcome to the world famous Sportatorium. We are here for the ‘Texas Shootout’. We have an exciting 60 minutes of wrestling action for you. We will see the World Champion, Tatsumi Fujinami, in action. We will see, Kerry Von Erich, his challenger in action as well. Our main event is a six Man Tag Team Match, the Midnight Express and Hercules vs. the Midnight Rockers, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Let’s get things started with, a new tag team, Karachi Vice.”
Match #1
Karachi Vice vs. Johnny Mantell and Tom Zenk
Karachi Vice is made up of Gama, and Makhan Singh. They take on two popular wrestlers. Gama Singh starts against Zenk. Gama is a very skilled wrestler, who uses the Eastern style. Zenk holds his own, and we have a back and forth contest. Gama tags in the huge Makhan Singh. He uses his size to control the action. Mantell tags in, and tries to use his speed. Makhan traps him, and hots the big splash for the win. This was an impressive debut for the team.
Winners-Karachi Vice
Match #2
Non-Title Match
Tatsumi Fujinami (World Champion) vs. Mike Rotundo
The World Champion takes on the skilled former NCAA Champion. The early moments of the match goes back and forth. Both men get nearfalls. The Dallas crowd loves the action. Rotundo has his chances, but the Champion hits the Dragon suplex into the Dragon sleeper for the win. Fujinami looks ready for Kerry Von Erich.
Winner-Tatsumi Fujinami
Marc Lowrance is with Kerry Von Erich.
Lowrance, “With me is the challenger in tomorrow’s World Title match. Kerry, this is the chance of a lifetime for you.”
Kerry, “It is Marc. When I started wrestling, I wanted to be the World Champion. I’ve come close, but I know I’m ready now. Fujinami is a great wrestler, but I’ve doubled up on my training. I’ll be at Texas Stadium, and Texans don’t lose in their home state. You bring your best, and I’ll bring mine, and I’ll walk out of Texas Stadium with the World Title!”
Lowrance, “Kerry is ready for the Champion.”
Match #3
Kerry Von Erich vs. Dr. X
Kerry takes on the masked newcomer. The masked man pulls out all the illegal moves at the beginning of the match. This puts Kerry on the defensive. The hometown crowd gets behind Kerry. “The Modern Day Warrior” rallies. He takes over, and wins with the discus punch. The crowd goes crazy! Can Kerry fulfill his dream tomorrow?
Winner-Kerry Von Erich
We see the Midnight Rockers and Hacksaw Jim Duggan in an interview area. Duggan holds the American flag.
Duggan, “Akbar, Cornette, I’ve got the best partners in the business, and we’re ready for you tonight, and Slaughter, America, and I, are ready for you tomorrow! HOOOOOO!”
We see the Midnight Express, Hercules, Big Bubba Rogers, and Skandor Akbar, in another interview area.
Cornette, “Rockers, Duggan, you done bit off more than you can chew. I’ve got General Akbar, and Hercules, on my side. We’re fixing to beat you tonight, and then finish you off tomorrow! Right General?”
Akbar, “That’s right Cornette! Your tag team will take care of those punks, and my Hercules will finish off Duggan! Duggan, you’ll never make it to Texas Stadium!”
Match #4
Six Man Tag Team Match
The Midnight Express and Hercules w/James E. Cornette, Big Bubba Rogers, and General Skandor Akbar vs. The Midnight Rockers and Hacksaw Jim Duggan
Cornette takes the mic from Marc Lowrance.
Cornette, “Dallas, TX, home on the Dallas Cowboys, the only team in the league that had more players arrested than they scored touchdowns! Now look at a winning team, Hercules, Loverboy Dennis, and Beautiful Bobby, the Midnight Express!”
This will be wild! With Cornette, Big Bubba, and Skandor Akbar, at ringside, referee Davis Manning has his hands full. Duggan waves the American flag, and the crowd goes crazy. The action is fast paced. Both teams tag in, and out. When the tag teams are involved, we see fast paced action. When the big men are in, we see hard hitting action. All six men end up in the ring. Manning calls for the bell. In the confusion, Sgt Slaughter hits the ring. He comes up behind Duggan, and locks in the cobra clutch. The Midnight Express and Hercules stop the Midnight Rockers from helping Duggan. Hacksaw is out, but Slaughter refuses to release the hold. Duggan is in trouble. Finally, wrestlers from the back break things up. Medical personnel check on Duggan.
Result-Double Disqualification
Bill Mercer closes the show.
Mercer, “The Hacksaw Man is in a bad way! Will he be ready for Slaughter tomorrow? Don’t miss the big show at Texas Stadium, a few seats are still available. Watch ‘International Championship Wrestling’, next week, for all the results.”
