Behind a backdrop with the logo of Continental Wrestling Showcase you see a large African American gentleman in a somewhat loud suit. He speaks and introduces himself as Ernie Ladd and that he has bought the Continental Wrestling Showcase. He wants to thank the viewers for the best of shows that have been broadcasting throughout Alabama and thanks CMT for keeping their slot open and preempting the program during that time. He has just a few things to tell the fans before he gets to the most important thing... the action in the ring.
He has declared all titles vacant. They will be decided in upcoming tournaments in Birmingham, Dothan, and Huntsville. Also the titles being recognized by the CWS are the National Heavyweight, The National Tag Team, The National Light Heavyweight and the CWS Television championship. CMT has agreed to keep our program, on at Sunday nights at 8-9 pm EST with a rebroadcast at midnight. Please check your local listings throughout the southeast for CWS Championship Wrestling. CMT has also agreed to allow us to broadcast 6 yearly shows, once every two months.
Also the referees have been empowered by Mr. Ladd to enforce all the rules, but also to only call what they see.
Ladd introduces the Stud Stable of Ron Fuller, Arn Andreson, Bobby Jaggers and Gary Young; The Armstrongs, Bob and his sons Scott and Steve; The Malenko Brothers Joe and Dean with the manager "Number one Paul Jones"; Young Scott Hal; Eddie Gilbert; and John Tatum with his valet Sunshine.
Things (as always) break down when you get combustible elements like this is a confined area. Scott Hall hits on Sunshine, John Tatum and he get into a shouting match. The Malenko's and the Armstrong's are sizing each other up, Arn Anderson asks Bob Armstrong how he got out of the retirement home and if he forgot his medication and Ron Fuller just berates Eddie Gilbert unmercifully. The much taller Fuller cracks a lot of lame short jokes, and eventually rests his arm on top of Gilbert's head calling him " A darn good armrest." Gilbert goes to punch when Bob pulls him off. The sides break down into heel and face. When Fuller asks Gilbert if he can even reach his chin to punch him we see a fireball shoot out of Eddie's hand with Gilbert saying "If it can't I know something that can." You hear Ladd trying to settle these men down but it's like herding cats, as he gets one fight settled another breaks out.
We fade to black on this short 5 minute promo that is shown on syndicated stations that carry the Continental Wrestling Showcase and on CMT a couple of times a day in between "Swingin'" and "Where's the Dress?"
