Solie and Reynolds open the show and welcome us to the James L Knight Center in Miami, Florida and AAW SUNDAY NIGHT!
Solie welcomes fans joining them on SportsChannel in the New York and New England areas, as well as the fans watching on local channels throughout the Carolinas and Virginia!
Two weeks ago, Barry Windham and Jimmy Garvin were the final two participants in the 10-man Battle Royal, and they will meet one on one tonight to crown the first AAW Florida TV champion!
Plus, Wahoo McDaniel will be here! Steve Williams and Jim Neidhart will be in action! Rick Rude and Gino Hernandez face the talented, second-generation stars Hector and Chavo Guerrero! And the always-popular “Soulman” Rocky Johnson will be here!
STEVE BORDEN beats BUCK ZUMHOFF. Borden has been improving with each match, and it finally pays off for him here, as he gets his first win! Zumhoff uses his quickness to enjoy an early advantage, but Borden turns things around, and overpowers Zumhoff before catching him with a diving shoulder tackle to get the pinfall.
BRAD ARMSTRONG & MR. OLYMPIA & “EL CUBANO” DAVID SIERRA beat THUNDERFOOT & ROGER KIRBY & VIC RAIN. The masked Mr. Olympia gets the win for his team, forcing Kirby to submit to the Figure-4 Leglock.
Ken Resnick is standing by with Prof. Boris Malenko. Resnick says that two weeks ago, he spoke with Boris, and Malenko said he was on the lookout for wrestlers to manage here in All-American Wrestling. He asks whether or not Boris has had any luck in finding those wrestlers?
Malenko smiles, and says that as a matter of fact, he has! He says that he is in the process of putting together the most destructive group the wrestling world has ever seen! He says that he can announce the first two members of that group right now . . .
The Masked Superstar and “Mr. Torture” Masa Saito walk in!
Malenko says that he has purchased the Superstar’s contract from Bobby Heenan, and says it was money well spent, because these two men right here will be the foundation of his group! Boris says the Superstar and Saito will wreak havoc on All-American Wrestling!
STEVE “DR. DEATH” WILLIAMS & JIM “ANVIL” NEIDHART beat NICK DECARLO & BOB MARCUS. Williams and Neidhart make short work of DeCarlo and Marcus, as Williams plants Marcus with the Oklahoma Stampede for the pinfall.
Afterwards, Doc scoops Marcus up, and drives him into the mat with a second Stampede, with Neidhart then stomping away at Marcus, and dropping elbows on him. DeCarlo tries to help his friend, but he gets thrown out of the ring and to the floor.
Doc and Anvil stop by the broadcast position on their way to the back.
Neidhart tells Reynolds and Solie that he and Williams are the Southwest tag team champions, and they’re tired of being overlooked by the AAW championship committee. He says that, until they’re given a shot at the American tag team titles, they’re going to continue to hurt everyone they get in the ring with!
“SOULMAN” ROCKY JOHNSON beats THE MASKED RUSSIAN DESTROYER. The Russian Destroyer is a mountain of a man, but that doesn’t bother Rocky Johnson, he takes the fight right to the heavily tattooed masked man, and in the end, he gets the win after catching the Destroyer with a Sunset Flip for the 1, 2, 3.
Afterwards, Johnson stops by the broadcast area, where he’s joined by Wahoo McDaniel.
Solie and Reynolds recap what took place three weeks ago on this program.
VTR: Rocky/Idol vs Gino/Rude, 3-24-85, JIP:
Hernandez and Rude control the next several minutes, keeping Idol in their corner, and using quick tags to keep the fresh man in the ring. Rude and Gino look to be on their way to victory, when Idol manages to fight his way out of their corner, and makes the hot tag to Rocky Johnson!
The Soulman comes in and drops both Rude and Hernandez with rights and lefts! Rocky is fired up, but before he can do any more damage “MR. WONDERFUL” PAUL ORNDORFF hits the ring!
Orndorff slides into the ring behind Rocky, and clips Johnson’s knee, putting him on the mat. From there, Rude, Hernandez and Orndorff gang up on Rocky. Idol rushes in to make the save, but he gets beaten down as well!
Suddenly, there’s some commotion, and out of the crowd comes . . .
CHIEF WAHOO MCDANIEL!!!
Wahoo, in street clothes, slides into the ring and tears into all three of Heenan’s men! Unfortunately for Wahoo, the heels quickly gain the upper hand, and Rude and Gino hold Wahoo while Orndorff delivers a series of stiff right hands to the head of the big Chief.
Idol and Rocky are back up, and Idol starts brawling with Orndorff, while Rocky helps Wahoo send Rude and Gino out of the ring. Orndorff soon follows them, as a big right hand from Idol sends Orndorff tumbling through the ropes and to the floor.
END VTR
Rocky says that’s the Heenan Family’s MO, they jump people from behind, and gang up on them. He says that Austin Idol had some business to take care of up in New York, but he and Wahoo McDaniel are here, and they’re going to dismantle the Heenan Family, piece by piece!
Solie says that they have some tag team matches signed against Rick Rude and Gino Hernandez, not only here in Florida, but up and down the east coast.
Rocky says that he’s going to start by whuppin’ Rude and Hernandez, then he’s setting his sights on Paul Orndorff and the American title!
Wahoo says Heenan is a piece of garbage, and he has no respect at all for anyone that would align themselves with Heenan. He says that it would be an honour to stand side by side with Rocky Johnson and rid AAW of Heenan and his goons!
“GORGEOUS” GINO HERNANDEZ & “RAVISHING” RICK RUDE (w/ Bobby Heenan) beat HECTOR & CHAVO GUERRERO. Hector and Chavo give Rude and Gino a challenge, but in the end, Rude and Gino get the win when Rude drops Hector with the Rude Awakening, and Gino then drops a back elbow from the top rope, and pins Hector for the 1, 2, 3.
WAHOO MCDANIEL beats BARRY HOROWITZ. Wahoo gets the win after hitting Horowitz with a Butterfly suplex. Late in the match, Bobby Heenan, Paul Orndorff, Rick Rude and Gino Hernandez come out and distract Wahoo, allowing Horowitz to roll Wahoo up for a VERY close nearfall. Wahoo turns things around though, and hits the Butterfly suplex for the win.
After getting his hand raised, Wahoo calls for Heenan’s men to get in the ring and fight him, but they head to the locker room instead.
JIMMY GARVIN (w/ Precious) beats BARRY WINDHAM by COUNT-OUT to win the vacant Florida TV title. The action in this one is fast and furious, as Windham, the young upstart looks to defeat the wily veteran Garvin and become the AAW Florida Television champion. Early on, Windham seems to have an answer for everything Garvin tries, and it looks like Windham is on his way to victory. But, when the two men brawl outside the ring, Precious gets involved, and sprays hairspray into Windham’s face!
Windham, blinded, stumbles around ringside, while Garvin slides back into the ring. The referee reaches the count of 10, with Windham still blinded outside the ring, and declares Garvin the winner and the first AAW Florida TV champion!
Garvin and Precious celebrate with the belt, as Windham tries to find his way to the back, still rubbing his eyes.
Solie and Reynolds wrap things up, and Solie hypes next week’s show.
So long from the Sunshine state!
