JACK REYNOLDS is standing in front of the NAWF logo.
Reynolds thanks us for joining him as we move to Sunday evenings for the debut episode of the NAWF’s “SUNDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN”!
Reynolds says that we’ve got new viewers in Florida tuning in for the first time, and welcomes them to the North American Wrestling Federation! And speaking of Florida, he’s got a surprise, he’s joined this week by a man that the Florida wrestling fans know very well . . . the Dean of professional wrestling, Gordon Solie!
Solie walks out and joins Reynolds, and says that he’s happy to be here in the North American Wrestling Federation, to call the action alongside Reynolds for these great fans!
Reynolds says that, last week, Bobby Heenan said he would throw a celebration this week for Paul Orndorff, celebrating his winning the North American title. Apparently, we’ll have that celebration this week. Plus, the team of Rick Rude and Gino Hernandez will be here. Austin Idol and Barry Windham will both be in singles action. We’ll see quite possibly the most destructive pair in wrestling history, as Abdullah the Butcher and Kamala will be in a tag team match. North American tag team champs the Fantastics will be in action. And in the main event, Rocky Johnson squares off with a member of the Heenan Family, the Masked Superstar!
“GORGEOUS” GINO HERNANDEZ & “RAVISHING” RICK RUDE defeat BOB MARCUS & NICK DECARLO. Rude makes a whole show of removing his ring robe, while Gino Hernandez jaws with some ringside fans. Once the bell rings, though, both Rude and Hernandez are all business, as they tear into Marcus and DeCarlo. After a few minutes of offence from Rude and Gino, they get the win when Rude hits the Rude Awakening Neckbreaker on Marcus for the pinfall.
“UNIVERSAL HEARTHROB” AUSTIN IDOL beats HERCULES AYALA. The brawler from Puerto Rico makes his debut in the NAWF, and enjoys an early advantage, overpowering Idol, but as the match progresses, the Universal Hearthrob gains the upper hand, and eventually locks Ayala in the Las Vegas Leglock for the win.
Solie and Reynolds talk about one of the fastest-rising young stars in wrestling today, from Sweetwater, Texas, Barry Windham! Solie says that he had the pleasure of watching Windham gain experience early in his career in Florida, under the watchful eye of his father, Blackjack Mulligan. Solie says that Windham has all the qualities to be a future World’s champion, and he can’t wait to see what’s in store for young Barry here in the NAWF.
Reynolds says that they have a video for the fans, featuring clips of Windham in action.
ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER & KAMALA (w/ Bobby Heenan) defeat MIKE GRAHAM & ROBERTO SOTO. Graham and Soto are both extremely talented wrestlers, but they don’t stand a chance here, as Abby and Kamala have no interest in wrestling, they just want to tear their opponents apart! It’s all Abby and Kamala, and they get the win when Abby hits Soto with the Butcher’s Axe elbowdrop for the pinfall.
Solie and Reynolds are joined at the broadcast area by The Heenan Family: Bobby Heenan, North American champion “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff, Abdullah the Butcher, Kamala and the Masked Superstar.
Two officials wheel out a cart with a big cake on it!
Reynolds says that Heenan might be a good mood now, but let’s not forget that Orndorff has return matches signed with Austin Idol, not to mention the fact that Rocky Johnson is chomping at the bit to get his hands on both Abby AND Kamala.
Heenan says that Idol isn’t even in Mr. Wonderful’s league, and all these humanoids know it. He says that there’s no one in the NAWF that has a chance of taking the title from Orndorff. As far as Rocky Johnson goes, assuming there’s anything left of him after the Superstar’s finished with him tonight, Abby and Kamala will be waiting to finish him off!
Heenan says that he’s heard enough from Reynolds and Solie, now it’s time to celebrate!
Orndorff stands in front of the cake, admiring it, when out of nowhere . . . AUSTIN IDOL ARRIVES ON THE SCENE!!!!
Idol grabs Orndorff from behind . . . and SHOVES ORNDORFF, FACE-FIRST, INTO THE CAKE!!!!!
The rest of the Heenan Family immediately jumps on Idol, but the Universal Hearthrob holds his own, throwing haymakers at everybody!
Abby, Kamala and Superstar soon overwhelm Idol, and after pummeling him, Superstar and Heenan hold Idol while Abby repeatedly jabs him with his fork! Orndorff has wiped the cake off his face, and thoroughly humiliated, Orndorff grabs the fork from Abby, and starts digging it into Idol’s head!
As blood starts to run down Idol’s face, Rocky Johnson, Mil Mascaras and Barry Windham rush out and a huge brawl errupts!!!
Finally, security, NAWF officials, and several wrestlers are able to separate everybody, and they drag the Heenan Family off, while Rocky, Mil and Windham check on Austin Idol.
THE FANTASTICS: BOBBY FULTON & TOMMY ROGERS defeat VINCE APOLLO & SAL BELLOMO. The North American tag team champs make short work of Apollo and Bellomo, and get the win when they hit the Rocket Launcher onto Apollo, and Rogers pins him.
Solie and Reynolds are joined again by Bobby Heenan and North American champ Paul Orndorff. Orndorff is FUMING, his face is beet-red, and he rants and raves about Austin Idol embarrassing him, before promising to end Idol’s career the next time he gets his hands on him!
Heenan says that Gory Guerrero and the NAWF need to do something, he and his Family were just out here, minding their own business, when that lunatic attacked Orndorff from behind, unprovoked! He says that he demands the NAWF suspend or fire Idol, and he’s going to have his legal team look into having Idol locked up in an asylum for the criminally insane, as he’s obviously a danger to those around him!
BARRY WINDHAM beats NEGRO CASAS. Windham gets an impressive win over Casas after hitting the Bulldog headlock for the pinfall.
Local promos air for upcoming events in Phoenix and Albuquerque, as well as the NAWF’s debut on the west coast, in San Diego, CA!
ROCKY “SOULMAN” JOHNSON vs THE MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ Bobby Heenan) never even getst started, as Superstar jumps Rocky before the bell, and tosses him out of the ring. At that point, Abdullah the Butcher and Kamala make their way down to ringside, and pummel Rocky! The Superstar jumps out of the ring, and joins in!
Austin Idol charges down to ringside to make the save, but he’s attacked from behind by Paul Orndorff!
As Abby, Kamala and the Superstar pummel Rocky Johnson, Paul Orndorff grabs a chair and batters Austin Idol with it!
Rocky Johnson gets whipped into the ringpost, busting him open, and while that’s going on, Orndorff wraps the chair around Idol’s head, busting him open as well!
With Rocky and Idol both battered and bloodied, down and out on the floor, Heenan and his men admire their handiwork, before heading to the locker room.
Solie and Reynolds wrap things up. Reynolds says Solie sure picked a wild show to make his debut, and then they hype next week’s show as the credits start.
